I'm all legs cramps and back pain. To an extreme. Exactly like my first so far. With my first my OB said oh the back pain will get worse, as you get bigger. Never did. It hit its prime between 8-10weeks and then went away.
@ngolimento oh no that sucks! The hand foot and mouth warning sign appeared on the door of my son's daycare classroom this morning...I'm bracing myself!
@ngolimento oh man!! I feel for you! I got chicken pox from my son in July and I was miserable. Stupid childhood disease!!! Hope you can manage your symptoms with minimal discomfort

So far the symptoms have been extremely mild. Runny nose and sore throat. I have skipped the fever entirely, thank God. The most impactful symptom so far has been my appetite completely disappearing, which is easy to deal with in the morning, but hard to manage when my MS kicks in at night.
Got an egg salad sandwich from the deli yesterday and was all about it. Got it again today and the whole time I'm eating it I'm thinking about how good their egg salad is. Swallow the last bite and thought I was going to throw up the entire sandwich.
@ngolimento Glad the symptoms have been mild! Hope it passes quickly! Is your LO doing ok with it?
She dealt with it better last year than this year because she isn't nursing anymore. Swallowing solids past a sore throat is more of a challenge. It's been exhausting to deal with a 2 year old who feels crummy while feeling crummy myself. Thank God for children's Tylenol. For serious.
My face is horrible...especially my chin. The only thing that ever controlled it was birth control. So it was crappy when I had to stop, but it's so bad now. My chin has like huge cystic kind. It hurts, it itches, skin is so oily. Basically I hate having to show my face in public everyday. Last pregnancy my whole back was broken out bad. I have a feeling it will happen again.

I bought a huge batch of chicken salad from Costco last week because I typically love it and with not eating lunch meat its a good option for lunches. Yeh... just couldn't eat it. I can still eat chicken but something about the chicken salad is a huge turn off.
@ngolimento Ugh, that sounds awful. Thank god for children's tylenol indeed!
@psuxray07 My acne has been cystic as well. Thank god I wear bangs because I have literally the biggest zit I've ever had in my LIFE on my forehead right now. It's larger than a dime! It's got its own zipcode!
Other than the acne, my main symptoms today are that coffee smells like literal garbage and I am so irritable I want to rip someone's head off. Also, I found out my coworker is a major conspiracy theorist and I did NOT do a great job covering my "you're a total idiot" face. Whoops.
I am feeling all you chicas with acne. My chin is gross. Thankfully during my last prenancy my acne disappeared in second tri, AND was actually really a lot better for a year after birth. Once I stopped BFing my cycle came back and my skin was all "screw you"
I'm eating like a hobbit today. Legit had first breakfast, second breakfast, and elevenses and now I'm getting ready for lunch. And I'm still.so.hungry.
@kaymaroo This was me yesterday! Luckily, it calmed down today, but I swear I had 5 meals yesterday. Not like, oh 3 meals and 2 sensible snacks, like five actual MEALS. I could not contain the hunger!
@maureenmce it's unreal! And of course it's the day before an ob appointment where I have to weigh in. Let that doctor say something about the five pounds I'm going to gain today...
@ladythrice It's totally normal with all the hormone fluctuation. But it could also be from what you ate. Just have an open mind and keep yourself hydrated.
@ngolimento Ugh- HFM is the worst. I'm glad that your symptoms seem to be mild, but it still sucks when combined with all the other first trimester symptoms. DD had it a few months ago and she was a total pill because she felt so bad. I'm sorry that your DD is having such a rough time this go round with solids in the mix. It's tough. Hang in there and get some rest where you can! I hope that you guys are better quickly.
@maureenmce and @kaymaroo Yes to the hunger, except it's like hangover hunger. Like I'm hungry but sick and so I just keep eating all the foods like being full is going to help the sickness. I've had pizza for two meals already today.
@ladythrice Yes, it's a symptom due to the slowing down of digestion by all the hormones. Same with constipation. Yay. Hang in there.
Also, +1 to acne. I never had it with DD. My skin was amazing with her. I have so many pimples now! I haven't had it this bad since high school.
Ugh, can someone remind me... is mild diarrhea a symptom during 1st tri? Or am I just unlucky with some food I ate or some stupid bug I'm catching...
Yeah, I've had this off and on a bit too. No fun, but seems in the range of normal symptoms.
And @kaymaroo I weigh in for the first time on Tuesday and I am not. looking. forward. to. it. Doesn't help that I'm still carrying an extra 10 pounds from my last pregnancy. Or that I was 15 pounds over my happy weight when I got pregnant *that* time. Or that this baby seems to want a lot of food, especially carbs. Oh well!
Also, I just tried to outsmart my morning sickness and eat lunch early to avoid getting nauseous from waiting too long between meals and it totally backfired! SO nauseous, even more than before I ate! WTF?
I started diclegis last week and it was a miracle drug for me. I was puking several times a day everyday. I'm a high school English teacher, so being sick during the day was not going to work for me.
I have started what I think are round ligament pains... my stomach muscles feel like they are being stretched out if I stand up straight quickly, cough, or move suddenly when I am on my stomach.
Note to people with significant morning sickness: seriously consider if you want to eat something that you'd really dislike to experience again later... off my list officially now: Chinese food.
The flu shot is no joke this year. My arm was sore all night and this morning, and I do not want to get out of bed. That being said, I encourage you all to get one. Babies born in winter and early spring in the northern hemisphere are at greater risk of developing schizophrenia as adults. While they don't know the exact reason, it has been hypothesized that this due to pregnant mothers getting the flu during the second trimester and this affecting the baby's neurodevelopment. Also, we can get really sick due to our reduced immune systems. (Sorry for the PSA)

this was the one food I had aversions with my first pregnancy!! the worst, i'm so sorry your MS doesn't seem to be letting up!!!!
@linds0503 Wow! That's really interesting. I have never heard of that before and I am a mental health therapist! Off to google I go... or maybe pub med if I get real ambitious today.
So, I'm late to the game, but I've been struggling the past few weeks in general so I've mostly been lurking...
I went to the ER last week because I couldn't keep anything down. Diagnosed me with HG. Yaayyyy. Diclegis has helped from vomiting every 15-20 minutes to only 3-4 times a day. I've also discovered that if you crave something, eat it because it'll probably stay down. Yesterday was a really bad day for the HG and the only thing that sounded good was a strawberry milkshake. And omg, not only did it stay down for the most part, but it was amazing!
Other than HG, acne/bloating/greasy hair/fatigue/insomnia are my main killers.
@buttercup0525 Oh no girl... I'm so sorry to hear you have been so sick! FX things start to improve for you and YAY for milkshakes. That sounds so good!
@buttercup0525 I am sorry you have been so sick. Glad to hear you are finding some good solutions. Hopefully things get better as you get closer to the 2nd trimester.

No, by all means please do not apologise about supporting vaccines. There is way too many selfish dumb bullshit lies out there about them, and every sane responsible voice of good parenting we get is a win for everyone.
Exhausted all the time. No food sounds good but if I'm not eating I'm sick. Sick anyways.. no sleep.. and I'm pretty sure I'm so full of poop that there's going to be a poop explosion.. oh well, first appointment is tomorrow! 8wks 5days
Omgawd, the cafeteria is serving broccoli soup today, and I had to turn around when I got within 50 feet of it. It smells like dead bodies. There should be laws against broccoli.

@maureenmce me too on the acne... I compared my face to my 15 yo sister's and mine is worse
edit: can't use words today
