1st Trimester

PSA: Watermelon for morning sickness

So now that watermelon is in season and cheap, I just wanted to let you know that this fruit worked wonders for my morning sickness in my 1st trimester. It was one of the only things I could keep down and help with the nasea. So, if you are having m/s and having trouble finding a remedy, I suggest giving watermelon a try (obviously it won't work for everyone, but it is worth a shot!).

Congrats on all your pregnancies - time will fly by fast! (and trust me, it does get better after the m/s has passed!).

Yes, watermelon has helped with my nausea as well.  I have been craving it since I got pregnant and I finally bought some the other day.  It tasted so good!  I will probably be eating a lot of it this summer.

  • Yep totally agree. I consumed watermelon on a daily basis when pg with DS#1.  And I've had it often with this pregnancy too.  In addition to being easy on the stomach to digest, it also has tons of vitamin B6 in it, which is good for controlling nausea.

Yup and I think the fluids are part of what helps with the m/s..... I've used applesauce to ward away m/s and it's worked for the most part so far

  • Great tip!  I bought some yesterday but haven't cut into it yet.  Sounds like a good dessert for tonight!
