Re: Anyone doing IVF in July/August?

  • @Hopeful_mom yay!!! And so it begins!!
    @ReesaAnne16 yay! Another pupo!!!
  • Loading the player...
  • @ReesaAnne16..congrats ! Glad it all went well !! Thank you ladies for all the well wishes ! I can't finally say today..I'm pregnant! (At least for a day or tell ...pretty cool to think)
  • @ReesaAnne16. Congratulations!!!!!  You have waiting a long time to finally get to enjoy this moment!!!  Squeeeee!!!! ❤❤❤
  • Omg so much exciting news! Congrats on the transfers @ReesaAnne16 and @Malibu45!! Sending lots of sticky vibes your way!

@BusinessWife I am soooo excited for you. Can't believe you are almost to retrieval already. I hope some more follies join the party but sounds like you will do well either way.

@Hopeful_mom thank you and it's nice to meet you! Over my time lurking here I have followed your journey in the low AMH thread then this one. Rooting so hard for you! I actually have no idea what my AFC was. It's usually pretty low (about 6-9) and this time they didn't tell me and I haven't asked. I'm kind of ok with that because I don't want to worry about it right now unless things are not looking good at the first monitoring appointment. We are planning a frozen transfer if all goes well!
  • @safire3 6-9 is great... there are ladies who have 3 or 4. My last cycle I legit started with one follicle in each ovary! Where are you in your cycle??
  • @dragonette505 I thought that was super low. I see so many ladies with AFCs in the teens and sometimes that's per ovary! Lol. I am on day 3 of stims today.

@Hopeful_mom yes I am hoping for good quality too because quantity may not be that great with my low AMH.
  • @safire3. You're totally right, it's quality over quantity.  I know a gal who has low amh too - she got 5 eggs, 3 mature and 2 pgs normal frosties!!!!  It can totally work for you, too. (((Hugs))) congrats on day 3 of stimms down... looking forward to your next scan!

@Malibu45 congrats on a wonderful transfer!! I hope everything goes smoothly from here on out! FX!!!

@BusinessWife possible ER Wednesday? Awesome!!! I'm with you on the same boat of having no idea what to expect lol. I was in the same boat Saturday night we were at a friends house watching the fight and I had to bring along with me my needle and Lupron haha!

AFM: I've been MIA over the weekend! But-I started Friday night with 225 unit
of GonalF. Waiting in the loooooong lab line currently for an estrogen check to determine my Menopur dose to start tonight! So far, feeling great and excited for everything to come!!

also, rant and side note for the gonalF, I'm making sure to use every drop of that liquid gold and sometimes to use the extra meds thats in the pen to Make the dose I have to stick myself twice lol. Can't they just throw that into a regular vial?

<div class="QuoteText">New to the page, been following everyone for a week or so, finally able to join in!  I'm currently on IVF, retrieval day is tomorrow morning! We started this cycle (my first) August 16th. Last scan on Sunday had 4 follicles at 18, and several (5 or so) more between 14-17. Not sure how many total are there but I guess we will find out tomorrow morning. Very nervous about retrieval, and hate anesthesia. We have MFI likely due to an injury/blockage so we previously did MESA and will thaw and use that for fertilization tomorrow. Congrats to all the ladies that have received good news lately!! </div>

Welcome!  We had to use MESA/TESE too! Nothing like an extra complication to keep life interesting.... they were telling me maybe Wednesday or maybe Thursday for my retrieval, as well.  Will be thinking of you tomorrow... ❤
  • Good luck, hopefully it all goes by quickly so we can hear that pretty fertilization number!
  • @ReesaAnne16 and @Malibu45 Congrats to the both of you! I really hope someone gets their bfp really soon!

@Hopeful_mom - yes I do, can't wait to lay back afterwards and hopefully hear good numbers!
  • @Hopeful_mom I'll do another round depending on PGS results. Thanks for asking! How are you feeling these days? My ER recovery is taking longer this time, I waddle slowly and have pain when using the bathroom, although today is the first day it feels not as bad. Last two times it took me two weeks to feel totally back to normal again.
  • @BusinessWife oooooh, once the Ganirelix comes into the mix you know you're close! So excited for you!

@southerngirl31 welcome and good luck this week!
  • @BusinessWife Yay!! Lucky you! I was fully expecting to up my doses tonight and nope! Sux! That upping the HCG is how you know its goin down! When they up my HGH that will be the home stretch!

  • I had my CD9 u/s today and it looks like I'm a little behind, as compared to my last cycle. Today she counted 10 total follicles (5 on each side) with some smaller ones that she didn't bother to count. They were all between 8-10 mm with one that were 11mm and another that was 15mm. At baseline, she counted 18 follicles, so I'm bummed that the growth seems slower, as at my last ER, on CD9, I had 18 follicles with five that were 10-12mm and the others were around 7-9 and one that was 15 mm. The nurse said "it's still early", but I'm a little worried for some reason that this won't bode well for my ER. Any thoughts/insight on this?? My mantra this cycle is "don't worry so much", but it's hard to follow my own advice sometimes!!

My lining was 11.2 and it was 7.4 last time. I am thinking that my lining is thicker because it is left over from my FET in July. Although I'm not sure why they even measure it because I'm banking/freeze all.

I go in on Wednesday for another u/s and I think I will trigger on Friday or Sat with a ER on Sunday or Monday.

    (2/17) ER: #1:  agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
    (4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days:  16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB):  only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal!
    FET on 7/10/17
    Beta on 7/21/17:  Negative:(
    (8/17) ER #3:  9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery.  Done with IVF.
  • @angelbea Hey, sounds all good to me. If you trigger fri or sat, all your 8-10 should be in the 20 range which is perfect! No two cycles are ever alike as you know so while you are in the cycle I say try not to compare so much. Sounds like all is going well and you should have a nice group of eggs at retrieval!
  • Got the report from the embryologist today ! Of the 18 eggs retrieved, 13 fertilized. We obviously transferred 1 embryo and they have 4 frozen and 4 in storage !! Im not sure what the difference is between frozen and storage. Anyone know ?
  • dragonette505:  You are so thoughtful and kind to respond how you did - you've made my worry go away.  Thank you!!

@angelbea no worries! This stuff is so stressful and that's why we are on here, to help each other!
@Malibu45 Ive never heard of a difference in storage.. I would've assumed they are talking about the same 4? I would call and ask your embryologists to be sure... its a big difference between possibly 4 and possibly 8!
  • @Malibu45 Sounds like the same 4 if I'm reading it correctly, but you can check with them if it seems confusing (which it does a bit!)
  • That makes sense lol. I'm still new to this so I probably read it wrong
  • @Malibu45 ps are you in NY somewhere? I'm in Manhattan!
  • Yes ! I'm in Long Island

That is too funny I am still just an hour away but* I used to be 20 min on the PATH lol
  • Can someone please talk me down?

I am so worried now this cycle is going to be a huge disappointment....  the bottom numbers were from today...

<div class=" Spoiler">So it looks like even tho there's 11 measurable, four of those are under 13.  I mean, do they even find mature eggs in follis that size???  I guess it's a tough reality check.  Here I was afraid we would get "too many" to ever transfer lol and here now I'm wondering how many we will end up with, if we might even need to repeat. :/

Those 11's should be in the 18 range by Thursday, plus with you upping your meds they may grow a bit faster than the normal 2 a day. I say don't count those out!!!

@BusinessWife check this out. My last cycle. It will be a little confusing because they were switching between systems but here goes:
    beginning of my cycle

Notice nothing bigger than 13.5 I think
    on 1/7
now I triggered on the 11th

Look at them there egg sizes!!
    then on retrieval day
And this cycle started with only 5 antral follies. That's why I tell people just wait and see
ETA and it actually ended up being 18!
  • @BusinessWife:  I had the same thoughts regarding my measurements today, but I think I am just being too much of a worrier -- it's hard to to worry about every little thing in this process!  I'm unsure of when you plan to trigger -- is it Tuesday or Wednesday?  I have heard that follicles grow about 2mm per day, and I'm sure that they grow exponentially once you trigger, but that's just my assumption.  I might suggest contacting your RE if you are concerned that they are not big enough yet.  I feel like my RE triggered me too early during my first ER, and I wish he would have waited a few days (which he ended up doing the 2nd ER).  But then again, it was my first ER, so your RE doesn't really have any context for how you will respond, so it's all a bit of a guess that first cycle.  But I've heard that most REs have some sort of follicle size and number "threshold" for when they trigger, so it might give you some peace to hearing the reasoning directly from you RE.  Plus, you can ensure that he/she is taking a close look at your case!

  • Momifbysea sorry you're not feeling well!  I think our bodies can only take so much...I literally did 5 cycles back to back so what do i expect from my body.  This cycle took the longest to re-coop AND my RE said its likely I would first start to feel better once AF arrives since I was still swollen inside!!  I have to say I actually am starting to see the light today!!  My cramping was the worst but other then a headache I am feeling better...hoping you will bounce back sooner!  Your body worked really hard this cycle!!  Just make sure you're not gaining any weight...u know interesting u mentioned discomfort while urinating as i had that too.

    allycheer00 how are u feeling?

BusinessWife  how were your measurements today?

Malibu45looking at your post i think you have 4 frosties, did they grade them at all?  Congrats!

angelbea try to relax it actually sounds like things are moving along nicely!  Try to remember you always want quality over quantity!  We see how different each cycle can be...you have a nice amount and i hope they all continue to keep growing together! As for the lining they always check it as each US.  Its one of the key things along with the ovaries besides just doing the follies.  Hang in there!

dragonette505 are you still considered coasting now?  I'm literally looking at where the ball drops in times square...at least it looks pretty at night!
