I don't see my OB until I am nearly 10 weeks. I also have yet to have an ultra sound or even an appointment for one (Im 8 weeks tomorrow). I am doing the sneak peek gender test at 9 maybe 10 weeks.. at this rate im going to know the sex of the baby before I know anything else lol.
@sjn00 you can know that early???? I haven't been pregnant for 4 years.
I also dont don't have a US until 10 weeks. Labs at 8 weeks.
Yeah, there is a blood test at SneakPeekTest.com that can tell you as early as 9 weeks!
@sjn00 oooh thanks! I am going to look it up. Thanks!

@bossmom11 I think it's your choice at all practices, but encouraged and (I believe) covered at least partially by insurance if you're 35+. I wasn't; I just like knowing definitively what you're dealing with so if you do have a baby with special needs, you can prepare for it. But that is definitely my personality - I like to know all the information I can re the pregnancy.

Exactly this. If you are not 35+ or do not have some sort of genetic family history of potential problems, your insurance probably won't cover it.

When I did the test in 2015, though, the company offered a discounted rate for the test if your insurance did not cover it that was apparently less than the copay if your insurance did cover it ($300 vs $500ish, if I remember correctly). You had to call them and request it, but it was easy enough.

We're heading out to our local quilt show today, and I'm excited because I have a quilt hanging in the show! Then we're off to volunteer at a big dinner and dance that raises money for local non-profits. Busy day and it's supposed to be really hot, so I hope my stomach does OK.

As for my student activities fair, it was crazy and I got dizzy feeling partway through so I left. It sucked because I had to walk 30 minutes back home.
As for me, I'm solo parenting today (my husband has a work event) and I am OVER this heat wave. My DD is an outdoorsy kiddo and hates being confined inside. We went to the park earlier so she could run around, but now it's way too hot and we're gonna be cooped up inside together until probably 7pm. Ugh. At least she finally decided to nap so I'm resting too. I've had lots of fatigue today and a couple waves of nausea, so I've decided chores can wait til later!
@maureenmce We have been very lucky so far and have not experienced any flooding. It's still raining though so only time will tell. It's crazy how bad some parts of Houston are flooded. We will probably be confined to our house for awhile.
Today was spent cleaning the house and generally getting sh*t done. I have been so. tired. This is the first time I've really felt like doing anything other than lying on the couch, so I call that a win! My DH and I mopped all the floors, shook out the rugs, scrubbed down the bathroom, etc. And we laughed and played a lot while we did it, which is another big win for me! This hasn't been a normal or easy pregnancy, and I've definitely been lacking joy in my life. Today was happy. It was really good.

@lindsye and @ngolimento I am only 28 and sneakpeektest.com is just for sex determination so it seems for what I am looking for, that is the route to go. Thanks for the info!

@bagowater@bettyvonsomethingstein if you do go through with linking threads, be advised that linking to drama is frowned upon by the TB gods. Now, I would never advise going around the rules by using PM, because I am an upstanding member of the community, and could never condone such behavior.
