Re: Weekend Randoms - 8/26

  • My jeans don't fit. I'm already doing the rubber band trick - at 5 weeks. I know everything is faster the second time but damn.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.

@saisongbird the bloat is real, I get it. I weigh 2 pounds less these past 3 weeks yet nothing fits, ugh.

Today I went to the gym and grocery store. Poor DH was trying to be helpful he was like "let's walk down the cracker aisle and see what looks good for you" but no, I just didn't want to be there. Tomorrow we get to see friends from new Hampshire and I am so excited! Their middle child is our godson and we only get to see them about twice a year

@saisongbird I feel you! 5 weeks here (hopefully STM) and already utilizing rubber bands. The bloat is real!

@JJMNO1616 Stay safe! Glad to hear that you're only getting rain so far.

@WillRunForWine21 Sounds like you are having a nice weekend so far (aside from the food aversions). Enjoy your time with friends!

AFM, MH is traveling basically for the entirety of the next month. He will be back late tomorrow night, just for a day, and then e leaves again. I took DD to Panera for a breakfast date this morning. Then, we went to hobby lobby to look at fabric, but I didn't find anything that I liked. We came home and played outside some and now she's playing independently in her playroom until lunch. I'm hoping to take a nap when she naps this afternoon. The weather is gorgeous today, so that's awesome!

  • Ugh I am freaking out.  I had my progesterone tested at an independent place since my RE wasn't going to test again and it came back at only 9.2.  It was a 22 just a few days prior.
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who has the bloat issues! I feel so silly and huge.

RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.

@sparklingdiamond From your post on PGAL the other day, you are now 4+6, right? Progesterone can vary widely from 9-47ng/ml in the first trimester, with the average around 5 weeks being 12-20ng/ml. I wouldn't freak out yet. Does your RE have an answering service for the weekend? If you are really worried, you could always call them and tell them what's going on.

ETA because I had to post that top part really quickly- I imagine that the PGAL brain is real for you right now and I completely understand your worry and anxiety. I hope that everything is ok. Keep us updated on how you are feeling or what you decide to do.
  • I'm pretty unhappy - I knew I gained weight, I could feel it and was uncomfortable.  I was weighed at the OB yesterday and I gained 7 lbs in less than a month...wtf?  First time around I didn't gain any weight for a while.  This won't do and some of this fat needs to go. *mad face*  lol.

I went and got some bloodwork done and the 1 hour glucose test this morning, and ever since I drank that drink, I've been sooooo tired.  It's almost 2 (DS's naptime) and I can't wait to go take a nap!

Celebrating 3 birthdays tomorrow and going to the zoo! Really hoping my nausea and fatigue can go away for the day. Also telling my mom & siblings tomorrow and still not sure how we are doing it.

@sparklingdiamond I hope you are able to find some peace while you wait to for your Appt.

  • I just got done with leg day at the gym, and now all I want to do is sit on the couch and each chips while my nausea isn't as bad (always gets worse in the evening).

The downer of the day is that I started bleeding again this morning.  All old blood so far, but it made me review all the things I have done this week that could have triggered a MC.

  • @sparklingdiamond I am still with my RE and when she did the betas my progesterone dropped from 53 to 27. I knew 27 was still appropriate and I had 2 follicles so a number on the higher side was expected but I was concerned about the drop. I emailed the RE and she said progesterone values vary because it is a hormone that is released on a pulsating fashion so readings can vary. Of course I think you should talk to your doctor if you're concerned but I wanted to share

  • @ngolimento fx that the bleeding stops soon
  • Oh no @ngolimento. I'm so sorry for the bleeding. Please don't look inward for reasons why this is happening. It's not your fault. FX it's just old blood working itself out and everything will clear up soon.
  • @ngolimento Girl, if there is one thing I have learned in all of my obsessive googling it's that there is nothing you can do to trigger a MC. I totally understand how nervous you are feeling about the spotting though. Have you talked to your Dr. about it?

Not yet. I have a history of bleeding during pregnancy, and I have a scan anyway on Monday, so I think I will cool my heels until then.

  • @sparklingdiamond & @ngolimento - prayers for you both.
@JJMNO1616 - good luck with the hurricane!
AFM, younger sister, her 4 kids and dog just left. Just under 24 hours and hubby, animals and I are glad to have our normal back lol! I was going to tell my sister, but when we had 5 minutes alone she was reminding me how much she hates her job :) Tonight DH and I are going out for dinner with our best friends.

  • I don't see my OB until I am nearly 10 weeks. I also have yet to have an ultra sound or even an appointment for one (Im 8 weeks tomorrow). I am doing the sneak peek gender test at 9 maybe 10 weeks.. at this rate im going to know the sex of the baby before I know anything else lol.
  • We tried to take our dog to community day across the street but she started having symptoms of a dog panic attack, so we turned right around.  :/
  • @psuxray07 I started at 141 lbs and at my appointment on Wednesday I was 153!! I didn't gain with my first this fast either, and now I'm like ahhh what if I gain this much every month!?
  • @allowachick Oh no. Poor pup. What kind of dog do you have?

AFM DD and I are cuddling on the couch now and are on Baby Einstein episode #3. I never let her watch this many in a row, but the exhaustion is real today.
  • @kbamomma33 she's a lab/pitt mix and she does get startled by people knocking on the door and loud noises, so I guess I'm not shocked she got overwhelmed but I felt really bad for her. She's been getting extra attention since we got home, but she doesn't seem to remember which is good
  • @allowachick Aw, sweet lab/pitty girl! We have a lab (boy) and a pit (girl). Our pit has pretty bad anxiety about similar things as well. She's very used to her routine and panics when things are different. Glad your girl is feeling better.
  • @zombiemom1318  I know!  I would be so depressed lol.  After DS, I had worked hard and lost like 40lbs and was so happy.  Then, end of 2015 I lost my job and basically put more than half of that back on and couldn't lose it.  Now I'm 2 lbs heavier than my start weight with DS.  I'm gonna try to exercise and keep from fattening up more.  Now I can't wait for cooler weather so I can hide my lard.

  • @kbamomma33  Yes, 4+6 today.  I had always heard that it needed to at least be over 10, so that's what really freaked me out is a huge drop like that and it being under 10.  Yes, I forgot they are there for a bit on Sat mornings so I called in and told them.  They said that first of all, part of the problem was that I went elsewhere and that it really needs to be run on the same machine to be fully accurate.  And then they said if it would make me feel better, they would call in progesterone for me to start taking.

@WillRunForWine21  Thank you for that.  It's good to know that the number does vary.

Thanks everyone else for you support!  I go on Monday for another beta.  So far they have all been doubling okay.  My first two progesterone numbers were fine and then there was this rogue one.   I also read that maybe eating a big meal can push your levels down?  One number said almost 50% and one said like 15%.  But the morning of my high one, I hadn't eaten yet and it was taken at 8:15.  With the low one, I ate way too much and was too full and then the test was at 10:30ish.  So maybe that affects it?
  • @sparklingdiamond with my DD my progesterone was 7 at my initial intake appt when I was 7 weeks. Yes, they put me on progesterone, but she was just fine.

  • @JJMNO1616 my husband had to drain our pool last night at 3 AM. Glad to hear you guys are safe - we are too. However, over literally the last 24 hours my exhaustion and nausea have kicked in in earnest, right around the time Hurricane Harvey arrived. Definitely not the best timing. Trying to parent three stir-crazy kids with no electronics, tornado watches keeping you up all night all whilst trying not to puke does indeed feel like the Olympics of parenting.  :#

  • @lindsye That is Olympic level parenting for sure! I salute you!

And glad it sounds like you and @JJMNO1616 are safe!

@ngolimento So sorry about the bleeding - hope everything is ok!

@sparklingdiamond Good luck with your beta on Monday and your progesterone levels!!

As for me, I decided to go to a protest today in 90 degree heat!  I was really nervous about gettIng overheated and I didn't feel well on the way down, but it went great and I treated myself to tacos!  Yum!  I also tripped on the train and landed in some dude's lap, so I also got my daily embarrassment taken care of already, lol.
  • @lindsye Oh no! Sorry to hear about the nausea. Did you guys lose power?

  • @JJMNO1616 yes we did for a good portion of the night/day, but it's back on now. I think we're just about to get nailed again though. What about you guys - have you kept power/gotten much rain during the day today?

@bossmom11 many practices offer a "Materni21" test (or something like that) where they take a sample of your blood and actually isolate the baby's DNA in it and are therefore able to screen for genetic conditions as well as determine sex of the baby. I think last time I had it done around 11 weeks along with the NT scan. That may not be what she was referring to, but it is a way to determine sex of baby definitively from really early on.

  • I made  chicken tenders for supper with cabbage slaw and mixed veggies.  My two year old asked for three helpings of cabbage slaw and ate  it dipped in ketchup.  And I'm pretty impressed!  I worked overtime today and I'm so happy just to have a low key movie night with them!
  • @lindsye No luickily we have had power the whole time. It's been raining pretty hard on and off but nothing too serious. There seems to be tornados popping up now though.
  • @lindsye and @JJMNO1616 tornadoes are scary, stay safe!

Yeah, there is a blood test at SneakPeekTest.com that can tell you as early as 9 weeks!
  • @ngolimento I hope you are doing better today!! And not to be a broken record, but there is no way you can "cause" a miscarriage accidentally.
