Re: August TWW

  • @justsuzie I just wanted to share that in my past pregnancy I also had brown spotting in the beginning and all was fine. I actually spotted for a bit, until first tri was done.
my loss was at 20 weeks bc of PPROM but nothing to do with early spotting. FX for you

  • @shri929 Thanks for the hopeful news.  At least I got on the progesterone right away if that is the culprit. I'll know Thursday as my betas were drawn before taking the progesterone.  I start back at work on Wednesday as a teacher and it is going to be a very rough start to the school year.
  • @justsuzie Oh no!  I hope the progesterone sets everything right, and quickly!  I'm sure this is insanely stressful...thinking of you as you go through the next few days.
  • @justsuzie I'm so sorry. I wish I could reach through the Internet and give you a big hug! I'm hoping so hard that it's all ok and your labs come back good. We're here for you if you need to vent over the next few days.
  • @justsuzie fingers crossed that all is fine!
  • Shit @justsuzie - I hate to read that. I feel the same way with spotting as it happened to me only a couple days after bfp. I sure hope the prog helps and your betas rise.

  • @justsuzie I'm hoping this isn't so.  FX for good numbers Thursday and all is well!
  • @justsuzie NO! I hope the progesterone help!

  • @justsuzie for my first pregnancy I had spotting from my bfp until 13 weeks.
    Tw living child mentioned
She was born full term, just happened to be rocking an extra chromosome.  So I know it was probably not the "typical" pregnancy.
    End tw.

My miscarriage was completely different I didn't start spotting until after 6 1/2 weeks.
  • Another BFN this am. CD29 and 14 days past my + OPK. I wish I had temped. This is the longest TWW. Anyone ever get a BFP after this point? Ugh

  • @shri929  with my last pregnancy I didn't get a BFP until I was CD35.  It ended in MC at 8 wks but I also know of people with similar situation that resulted in healthy pregnancy.  I'm currently sitting at CD29 with a BFN on Sunday still no temp drop.  I just ordered FRER so I will test again on Thursday if AF hasn't arrived.   I'm frustrated bc I know how my last one started and ended so I'm worried that if it starts same way it will end same way if it turns out I'm KU.  And if I'm not we are supposed to travel this wkd but I will also start injections for next IUI and I'm supposed to have an US during the first 3 days of cycle so if AF doesn't hurry up then it could screw up next medicated cycle.  I don't want to postpone travel as I have my DS's 2nd bday party planned on Saturday with my family in MI.  I didn't sleep at all last night thinking about all this.
  • I did with my first. I was 5 weeks along.  But as stated above she probably wasn't your typical pregnancy.
  • @Mack2342 TW, happy birthday to your DS! 2 is a fun age and I think birthday party planning is fun. Also a nice distraction from this TWW (turning into 3). I think that last pg I didn't get a + until 16 days but I wasn't really tracking
@rklinge0 thank you! The waiting is so hard

@shri929 - with my DD I got a positive at 4 weeks and same with our loss embryo.  Mine must take their dang time attaching!  Oh and I also had that first AF with both which was weird.

  • @Mack2342 hopefully you get a BFP and won't have to do those injections !!
  • @mack2342 - I remember your last BFP.  You tested right before you were supposed to take an AF inducing drug.  I know very well the stress of what if and there is nothing about this you can control.  Easier said than done I know but it's best to just let go of it, live in the present moment, and take 1 day at a time.  I was very stressed about AF early June so much so it actually delayed my AF coming.  I really hope you get that BFP.

  • Thanks @vlagrl29 yes that's exactly scenario from last one.  I'm trying to let it go and just see what happens
  • @vlagrl29 I also had the first AF with my last two pregnancies (like regular, full on heavy period)! Mine both ended up being eventual miscarriages, but I've never heard of anyone else that this happened to. I just took it as a bad sign - awesome to know you had a healthy pregnancy come of it.

@shri929 My last BFP was on CD 29 (18 DPO) and that ended in m/c. I figured it would since it was such a late BFP.  The literature gives a 20% success rate of pregnancies with late implantation, so not impossible!

AFM: I unfortunately had to cancel my cycle. Went in for monitoring on CD 7 after 4 days of femara and Gonal F and I already had one dominant follicle at 1.8 cm and my LH was beginning to surge. Because it was so early and I had only finished AF the day before, my lining was too thin. Guess I know now that I respond quickly to injectables. Not doing TI this cycle because DH is too overwhelmed and said he doesn't want to do treatments anymore. We have our IVF cycle scheduled for September so now I don't even know if that's going to happen. I'v been devastated and haven't talked to DH in 3 days. To make matters worse, my sister is due with her 3rd this week so I basically want to go into hiding and not come out for a few months. I have zero interest in seeing my new nephew when he arrives. I feel like a bad sister but I just can't deal with it all right now.

Good luck to all of you this cycle!

  • @tosh24 sorry you had to cancel cycle and that you aren't speaking with DH.  That's rough.  Seeing a new family members baby is difficult.  I had to do that last month and it was a struggle.  I'm supposed to start femara and gonal f this cycle if AF arrives.  Otherwise I fear late implantation which I had before and it wasn't successful
  • @tosh24 - I remind myself of my living child when I wonder if something is wrong with me lol.  Yes both times were normal AF like usual.  Actually my first pregnancy was back in 2010.  DH and I vaca'd in Destin and Nola.  When we got to Nola I started getting sick and really hungry, but I got Af there so I thought it was anxiety.  Low and behold it kept going on when we got back so I made DR appts and they were testing my blood for Pg and other diseases and everything come back negative.  Get this - they scheduled me for a procedure where they stick a camera down my tummy to look for ulcers cause they thought I had that.  Well the morning of that procedure I took 1 more Pg test and it was the faintest of lines.  DH didn't think it was real.  went there and they tested me and it came back positive.  I was all ready on the table with IV hooked up getting ready to be put under!  LOL - what a story that was!  That was my living child.

With loss my boobs got more sore and full then AF came - no sickness or hunger so I assumed I wasn't.  Scheduled to have HSG the following week and took a test that morning just for peace of mind and it was negative!  Next week I was using OPKs so I could get the CD 21 test set up and I got an early one CD12, then 13 and 14.  Week of xmas I thought it was weird I got multiple positive tests so I took a digital pg test and it came up positive!  Instantly I worried the HSG hurt it but they assured me it didn't.  So or course when the loss happened I blamed myself for the longest time about the HSG.

  • @tosh24 Are you serious? Just out of the blue he decides he doesn't want to pursue treatments anymore? If I were you, I would lose my ish!

Whatever is going on in his mind I hope he's able to share it with you so that you can talk it out and figure out what your plan is TOGETHER.

Also, my SIL had a baby 1 month after my EDD. I thought "it'll be ok, I'm sure I'll be KU by then" which obviously didn't happen. Went and saw the baby a couple weeks ago. Made sure it was a short visit. I did ok, but declined to hold the baby cause I knew I would start bawling. Cried most of the way home, but was proud I held it together during the visit.
  • @tosh24 I'm so sorry girl, hugs to you. I hope you and your DH can open the air soon.

  • @tosh24 I hope you and DH are able to come up with a plan together. The whole thing really can be so hard.  :/

Also seeing and hearing about new babies is so hard. Two people at my husbands office were having babies as I was losing mine in Nov. It sucked. I tell him not to tell me any baby news. Obviously family is different and you have to do visits etc.

    Thanks, ladies.

@Mack2342 Not knowing what's going on is so hard. It makes the mind come up with a million different scenarios to stress over. Hope your body gets its act together and you know ASAP either way.

@vlagrl29 Woah, those are some crazy stories! I totally understand blaming yourself for the loss - it would be hard for anyone not to feel guilty. But you did everything you could've done beforehand and you made your decision based on the information you had. With my second loss I tested up until 15DPO and got all negatives. So I stopped my progesterone and got AF a day later as usual. I went in for my CD 3 ultrasound and blood work and then bought all of my meds. The nurse called me that afternoon to say that my beta came back positive. With my first miscarriage they thought I had a blighted ovum that my body wasn't passing so they scheduled me for a D&C. Got to the hospital and they wanted to do one more ultrasound just in case and found a strong heartbeat! Ended up catching parvovirus so the story still has a sad ending, but turns out it was also a later implantation (not as late as my last one...this was was day 12 or 13) so all my dates were off. I feel like I can never be sure I'm not pregnant just because I get AF. So irritating!

    ETA:

@sprkls8506  @amberruka Thanks ladies. Ugh, babies are so hard! Especially since NO ONE in my family has fertility problems so they are ALL "oops" or "first cycle trying" babies which makes me want to scream. New babies are always wonderful but it's getting harder and harder to hide my envy and not be bitter.

@leahcimmichael Yup. I could tell he was starting to get tired because he would just give me really long sighs when I brought up my next cycle plans, etc., but he went away on vacation and while I was talking to him on the phone to tell him about the cancelled cycle he was like "oh good, because I think I'm too overwhelmed to have another child. I want one but maybe we shouldn't have anymore". After I just finished telling him how I got my IVF protocol for September. He just wants to "see what happens" naturally. WTF? We did that for 5 years and all it got us was a miscarriage. I guess we'll see what happens.  I know I'm going to be forced to see my sister and nephew. I hope I can get away with not holding him though. Maybe DH can take one for the team since it doesn't seem to bother him....

  • @tosh24 - I'm so sorry your DH isn't wanting to do treatments.  Sucks when both of you aren't on the same path.  Maybe couples counseling for your losses might help.  My DH is more open to clomid than I am.  I'm not at all currently - luckily he's pretty flexible to my thoughts.

This may also be why I never test for pg before AF because it always comes regardless. I know my body so well by now esp my CM.  So if I never got that fertile CM I'd probably test because that's the time my body puts off HCG.

  • 9dpo here and the crazy got me today...POAS this morning even though I knew it'd be negative (which it, duh, was), because it was just like this itch that I *had to scratch*...I just had to get one over with. Laughing at myself and also offically have it out if my system until Friday. Sheesh!

  • @tosh24 I hope the hubby can hold the baby and maybe it can be a quick visit?

@rosemary&thyme I just ordered the cheap wondfo tests. Hoping not to test until right before AF is due but I will prob give in since I just ordered them. Last month I only had one left so I didn't want to use it early. I seriously hate the TWW.

  • @sprkls8506 I've got the cheapies, too...they are very enabling!  I messed up, though, and thought I had a bunch left, but actually only have two.  Oops.  Now I'm held to waiting to test again because I refuse to buy more unless I have to move on to another cycle!  TWW is totally the worst...especially the last handful of days.
