@nitnat007, I haven't used the other app. I downloaded Ovia and Ella (I think that's what it was called) when we first decided to give baby making a go and I liked Ovia better. Other than the app and the OPK's haven't been doing much else. This is the first month we've been trying, so if we are not pregnant now I might look at some other options. I felt pretty confident of the OPK / app since I did get a positive on my project "best day".
I have a mutt, he's a cattle dog, boxer, treeing walker hound mix. We love him, even if he hogs the bed!
@mileswithmyles. Chart looks good. Its really too early to test for a positive at 7 days. Hope your sore throat & fever go away!
@peaceloveandwine. Yes! I want to visit Costa Rica. Have you been before? Where did you go? What did you do?
@charlestonchew. Welcome to TWW! Glad I finally get to be on the same daily thread as you again, my friend! I feel like we are always on the opposite one.
@dlynnb084 Most of the ladies here use Fertility Friends. I have tried a few others myself and found that I like FF as well. Also, OPK's are a great tool, but unfortunately do not confirm ovulation. They only detect an LH surge. (I learnt this one early on. Reading the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" was extremely helpful.) Your dog sounds adorable and a very interesting mix!

@nitnat007 If I use the other (FAM and research) options, it has O on cd15. if I use OPK, It makes it cd14. going by the timing of my + then - opks and from past experience with my cycles, I think O was cd14. i know the shift from 14 to 15 isn't much, but if I upped that temp from 97.47 to 97.57, the other decipher options also says cd14. and I admit to half assing temping this cycle (half asleep. mouth open).

@dukestar5 It was so amazing!! That's where we went on our honeymoon. It's ridiculously gorgeous and it felt like being on the set of a movie. We did zip-lining through the rain forest and visited a national park, but the coolest thing we did was this horseback riding tour through the forest where you stopped at a spring/waterfall where you could stop and do a kind of self-spa treatment with the volcanic ash: https://www.horseridecostarica.com/tours_jungle_spa.php

@catlady1215 Really strange, but think you are making the right call.
@babyboywish beautiful work! You really are talented!
@marcus7676 I grew up in South Africa on the east coast. Small little town called Mtunzini (translated from Zulu, it means place in the shade). I was born here in Canada though, and have been living back here for almost 8 years now. Hope that neck gets better.
@blackhottamales gif's were a challenge for me as well initially. But as long as you find the link that ends in ".gif" you can paste that into the drop down box with the mountain in it and it should work. Give it a try, and send me a pm if you have trouble with it. I sure did grow up there. Beautiful place! And good call on New Zealand! I was super annoyed on the urine test, I always pee like 5 times before I go anywhere because I hate having to hold and I didnt know how long I would have to wait. Of course the one time I didn't need to hold. Le sigh.
@mileswithmyles Hope you feel better soon! And what a lovely compliment to receive. Good on you!
@lurvleybunchococonuts Mine crazy one likes to roll around in it too. You can see her eyes glaze over as she gets more stoned. It cracks me up. OMG that is one cute cat. Love it!
@marcus7676 My parents are actually South African and immigrated to Canada, but then shortly after I was born, my dad decided that it really was not where he wanted to be. He is a surfer and doesn't do cold well. So they packed up and went back. I left when I was 19 and have been back once over the last 18 years for a two week visit.
@babyboywish Hello DPO buddy! Sorry Hubby is drivin you crazy! They dont seem to feel the same pressure that we due TTC.

Had a gyno appointment today plus I wanted to bring up TTC. We had a fantastic chat but she did say she wanted to wait a year for a semen analysis which is disappointing because I feel like that's a pretty simple and non-invasive test but it's whatever. She of course brought up losing weight and I asked her what my weight could be affecting if my cycles are overall normal? She said she didn't know the exact science but have seen people with no other known fertility issues be able to conceive once dropping to a more normal BMI. I mean, I won't argue about losing weight because I understand it's important overall and I know I'm overweight but I'm not willing to wait past a year if I don't get to my "goal weight" in time.
@marcus7676 Haha yes you can surf here. But with a lot of gear required. Wetsuits are no fun!
@Funkymooncow I am yet to see a bear out here. Vancouver is lovely though.
@mileswithmyles I am the same way. MH makes fun of me for it, but I have to go right before we walk out the door lol
@charlestonchew That is a little frustrating that she is going to make you wait for a SA. Is that not something that YH can request from his own doctor? Not sure of the red tape down there. MH spoke to his family doctor about that possibility and there didn't seem to be an issue.
@nitnat007 I didn't think about having DH request it from his own doctor. He doesn't usually see his doctor unless something's wrong since he's just a general practitioner so I wonder if he can just call his doctor? Or would he need to go in? I'd hate for him to go in and pay a copay just for the Dr to say no lol
@charlestonchew Fair enough. Definitely worth the call though. Canada its a little different, and MH was already in there for something else so it was easy to just ask. GL though, hope its something they can help with.
@mileswithmyles I've only done one trip so far by air plane with my students. We went to Belize I had 6 girls and they were great. I constantly reminded them of the story of Natalie Hollaway and scared them into always being near by and never going anywhere without a buddy. We've also taken class trips to Montreal which stresses me out more because all 40 students in the senior class will go and in the 80s the school board banned the school from going because many of them got drunk and I hear stories about someone getting pregnant on the trip. This spring I have 4 girls, another teacher, and a boy signed up to go. It should be a fine.
I found a place in my state nearby that does it without referrals. Does anyone think I should go ahead and do that or should I listen to the doctor and wait? I feel weird undermining the doctor but I don't want to prolong anything if we can find out more now instead of later...
*lurking* @charlestonchew MH was able to just email his doctor and ask for a referral for the SA. She replied that she thought it was early, but went ahead and approved it. I tend to also err on the side of getting more info earlier, so I say go for it! Ultimately this is a very personal process, so don't feel like you are undermining your doc. It's not her body! Also related to your earlier post, I get so frustrated when docs focus on weight/bmi without being able to cite clear evidence that a higher bmi is problematic.
@charlestonchew I would go for it. My doctor offered after our first 6 months. And I agree--we all know being our healthiest is best but no need to blame not getting KU on it if you have regular cycles.
@charlestonchew - You've been trying 9 cycles, right? I'd say go ahead with it, since it's a relatively easy test and it's non-invasive (and pretty cheap). I've actually heard that some doctors suggest starting testing if you've been unsuccessful after 6 months of trying, and the one-year-wait is an "old" practice. But, I try to take everything like that with a grain of salt, as well. I really personally feel like insurance should pay for certain things to be done pre-TTC, because how the hell is it fair for anyone to TTGP for a year, and then find out they had some issue that could've been found and corrected back at their pre-conception appointment...
As far as your weight - I actually wrote my final essay for my Comp class on the effects of weight on a woman's fertility. I literally could have written my essay both ways (weight does effect fertility, and weight does not effect fertility), because there were so many studies showing both sides of that debate. Some show a higher pregnancy and live birth rate, some show a lower pregnancy and live birth rate. Some show women who lose weight getting pregnant "quicker", some show no difference in time-to-conception. Some show a correlation between higher BMIs and lower estrogen levels, some show no such correlation. I mean, in the end, after reading however many studies I did and going through that research - I found that the only thing they all seemed to agree on was that you should try to exercise for 15-30 minutes every other day. So, while it's better to be of a healthy weight for a potential pregnancy, it's not required. Let's be honest, how many times have we (or I, because this is probably only me, lmao) watched shows like "My 600 Pound Life" where they start to lose weight and end up pregnant at 400 pounds with a healthy baby in the end? Quite a few times. You (general) can't tell me someone who's 50 pounds overweight (for instance) has to lose that weight to get pregnant.
ETA: Sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent there. Don't mind me.

@charlestonchew Scotland and Ireland are so beautiful. When we went, we did a cruise and it was so fun being in a different city everyday in those areas
@peaceloveandwine I really want to go to Niagara Falls!
@jaylii You must be so excited to see YH!
@blackhottamales glad you are getting a BBT
@marcus7676 I hope your swelling goes down
@labgrand2012 yay CH!
@mileswithmyles, I'm very relieved to have my CH, now lets hope it develops to a BFP

Warning: word vomit ahead
@charlestonchew MH was able to just email his doctor and ask for a referral for the SA.
ETA:
Sorry, I kind of went off on a tangent there.
Don't mind me.
