@KLake42 I'm doing a camping/woodlands theme in DS's room once we move. I have a DIY tent that I'm making plus we have some super cute woodland creature prints we picked up in Helsinki. I think with some stars on the wall and DS's name in big letters covered in moss I'll have a fairly put together room. It will have only taken almost 2 years. I have no idea what I'm going to do for this one. If it's a girl I kinda want to do a vintage travel theme in some pastel colours. No idea though.
@Cricket99 I made a DIY tent for DS. He doesn't quite get the concept of it and likes to sit into the tent on the side where the fabric is. After a few times this happened I banished it from his room, he can have it back when he understands where sitting happens. bahah.
A little late again to the party but @cyanope, that is the most adorable nursery! Love the birds, that would've been my second choice! Where'd you get the rug?
This thread makes me feel like I may have to go get myself a Pinterest account. Hrmph....
I am inspired by all of your inspirations. DH and I are leaning towards stars and space, for either boy or girl. (Loving the work y'all have already done, @williams-jen and @KatieEl!) Selfishly, I think it could be really fun to decorate and would hopefully grow with the kiddo for a while.
In all honesty, though, I am no decorator nor am I a planner or a shopper, so it will more than likely end up as a blue room with some baby furniture in it. (I totally understand your feelings, @mindaa! )

@britmanering73, thanks! I got the large rug at Target, and the small, "fuzzy" one at TJ MAXX. Also, thanks everyone for the advice! I guess it isn't too "girly" after hearing all of your opinions. I'll just change a few things out.
Finally catching up to this thread! Here is my nursery inspo.... actually I've already ordered the bedding and the changing pad cover. The mint green in the middle is the current paint color in the room we are going to use for the nursery. Trying to decide if I want to leave it that color or not. Really hoping to make everything work because I haaate painting. All furniture (crib, dresser, etc.) is white. The rest of the décor will be pink and gold accents.
@gusgus14 yay! I'll probably get that flowery sheet too. I think it would still be interchangeable with the rest of the bedding. What do you think? And I'm sure there will be times when I need an extra sheet or two.
@whitta1218 - definitely! We're planning on getting 2 of that floral sheet and 2 of the other floral sheet in that collection and that way we'll have plenty if we somehow get majorly backed up on laundry or something.
@KatieEl OMG that room is gorgeous! Great insp for me to get my act together. Carpet is getting installed upstairs Tuesday and then it is game on (on a budget, lol). ETA where did you get the little on the floor book rack? I want two.
@EmilyLove25@sjb2215 I totally know those feelings; our painters literally just walked out the door (after being here M-W last week and this week!) I got the book caddy from Land of Nod, they're on sale right now and come in a bunch of colors. (And are SUPER sturdy, really well made.)
ETA: And thank you!

I am loving this thread! The pictures are so inspiring and adorable. I want to decorate a nursery but since it'll be shared as our guest room, we're not doing baby specific decorating besides rearranging furniture and adding a crib. Have to make room on the bookshelf for kids books, too.
@KatieEl Well, now I am going to spend money I don't have--lots of it--at the Land of Nod. I actually did NOT buy much from there with DD, but this LO has a smaller space and they have SO much for small spaces, plus I feel like I need to splurge to make up for the size of his room (he's going to be really mad when he's 12). Thank you!
@EmilyLove25 that store is dangerous, but really good for small rooms (discovered back when we were just in a 2 bedroom apartment before DS1 arrived.) I will say, that at least for the price everything has held up beautifully.

Just wanted to say Society6 has the cutest rugs to match anything you could think of and they're pretty inexpensive. I'm already obsessed with 4 from there that I can't choose from.
@whitta1218 - I have been having a really hard time finding a rug and I love that one! They had another floral one that I liked but I didn't bookmark it so I don't have it handy. I just wish they made a bigger size.
@katieel and @EmilyLove25 I'm trying to pace myself. LON makes it hard. So far, snagged this pillow for DD's nursery. It's to serve as an accent for our gray glider.
@jakobaby so pretty! I also need to pace myself (and have been failing) since we just moved I'm ordering all the things: furniture! art! decor! I need to take a breath.

So... I made a big mistake, went into Hobby Lobby, and changed it up a teeny tiny bit. Mother and MIL are ready to beat me. DH was expecting the change.
@gusgus14, love the flamingo theme! My DD2 is OBSESSED with flamingos. I have no idea where it came from. I vote beige rocker and plain rug.
@auntieraindrop, I vote to go with dinosaurs. And you don't even need to feminize it. DD1's room was pirates with navy, white and red. Now I'm stuck dealing with pink everything.
@BelleZBoo , I have those white, crepe paper PBK flowers in the girls room.
@jakobaby , I splurged on DD1's crib and when it didn't fit in with the vision I had for DD2's room I went cheap for a new one. Honestly? There wasn't a huge difference between them, once the cheap one was put together. I wouldn't waste the money on expensive furniture for children again. I search Amazon, Target, Overstock, and Diapers.com and order from whichever has the one I want for the cheapest.
DS's room is being designed around artwork that hung in my room, when I was an infant.
There's a forth picture, not pictured. Also if a hot air balloon. The "theme" will be hot air balloons and clouds.
I'm reusing DD2's mahogany dresser, so the crib will be a similar wood tone.
Behind the crib will be a wall of clouds, with the artwork hung above it, a la
I'm going to go a bit mid century mod furniture and decor wise
I'm going to DIY this mobile
I already bought crib shits from Target that have clouds on them and one of those vintage, metal Js. I haven't picked out a rug yet, but have a few ideas.
A built in bed and book shelf need to be demoed before we can start anything else, and I'm waiting for the all clear before we start that. Next u/s is Monday... so we'll see how I feel after that.
You guys! My mom saw this pillow on HGTV, found it, bought it, and sent it to us for the nursery. So cute! Ignore the plastic covering - trying to keep it cat hair free while I can.
I'd have to go back through the thread to find those doing traveling, scouts and space, but I was at TJ Maxx today and they had tons of stuff that fit those themes. I know each TJ Maxx can be different, but I often see crossover on the two between the two stores near me.
Things are under way at our house. I've been ordering furniture and some decor items, planned everything else out to buy as it goes in sale. Scheduled an electrician to put in overhead light boxes. Selected paint colors. Whew! Taking advantage of the energy before it's gone.
Heads up, Sherwin Williams is having a 30% off sale starting the 24th and PBK has a $15 dollar off coupon you can use on top of the 30%.
Is it weird that I'm waiting to buy most nursery and baby items till Black Friday time? I know not everything will be on sale, but some stuff is bound to be. Lol
I've been dying to join this conversation but wanted to wait until we found out what we're having! It's a girl so I'm going with "dark floral", thinking black backgrounds with fall coloured flowers. Based on a pillow I bought ages ago, will either have a mural like the one I attached on one wall with the crib in front and a solid colour sheet (like dark coral) and a patterned change pad to tie it all together, or nothing on the wall and do a patterned crib sheet and change pad to match the pillow. I really want grey-brown furniture like the IKEA sundvik crib and hemnes used to come in, but of course it's discontinued a long time ago and nearly impossible to find second hand. So we'll see! Thinking of a white or cream rocker/ottoman or if I can't find the right shade then dark grey.
@steph30032 - I'm trying to wait until Black Friday for a lot of our big tickets items which includes nursery furniture. We have started getting small stuff though and my mom has started buying some of our crib bedding and stuff like that. Not sure if I'll be able to make myself wait once the room is prepped but we'll see!
