Anyone have any recommendations on gliders? They're so dang expensive but I know I really want one. I'll probably wait for some gift cards (hopefully) at showers. I sat in this one at Babies R Us and fell in love... https://www.toysrus.com/product?productId=61392226 But if any of you already have one that you love, please share!
@whitta1218 I sat in the Kersey glider at Babies R Us and fell in love! We bought it a couple weeks ago when it was on sale. It was normally priced at $499, but we got it for $375!! For me, the Kersey glider was perfect for my height and head support and was just the perfect balance between smushy and firm. We also bought the Cameron gliding ottoman to match even though it reclines. I'll probably use it with the ottoman 99% of the time instead of reclining it.
I also looked at Pottery Barn Kids and BuyBuy Baby for gliders, but the one at Babies R Us was my favorite (even though I like those other stores better in general).
@steph30032 I'm hoping to score some items over Black Friday too. Currently getting the furniture out of the way now though as it goes on sale. Some items are backordered until October at the moment. I would hate to see what the ship dates would be around the holidays.

That's the same one i tried at babies r us, i want this one so comfy i want it to sit in all the time
@whitta1218 I ordered the Bilana Swivel Glider Recliner from Buy Buy Baby. I believe it's made by Best Chairs. It was one of the only models I tried that was comfy but the back was also firm, which was what I was looking for. I need extra back support, especially while nursing for extended periods. It's a customizable chair so I was able to select a soft, easy-to-clean fabric in a coffee color.

With my first I had a hard time finding something that I liked and wouldn't break the bank locally (I'm in Canada) so ended up ordering from the states. If you're already in the states I imagine you have way more options then I did! I've seen some better things since then, but anyways, will consider doing the same for this baby since it was a success! I ordered from allmodern.com (similar to wayfair etc) and based it off price, what I wanted (gliding chair AND gliding ottoman at one price, colour, height of the back of the chair) and reviews, and am still in love with the one I got. I was nervous about buying before seeing or trying but it has been perfect. I added a long pillow at the base for lumbar support and I absolutely swear by this whole combo. I miss it any time I'm away from home!
@whitta1218 last time I picked up one from a local bst page for a fairly low price. Then sold it on a bst page as well. We only used our for a year so I didn't feel worried about buying used. I'll likely go that route this time too. Those gliders are so expensive.

That's my plan too, I just can't afford to spend $3-500 on a chair when we have so much else to get. I've looked at a couple, but the only ones I can seem to find are white. I just know with a baby and 2 dogs, white is not going to be my friend.
We still haven't given away/sold the furniture in the guest room that is going to be the nursery, but we've started buying some items and storing them in the closet for now. My father just finished fixing up and repainting this rocking chair that my great-grandfather built. I was bored today, so I set up everything for what i was thinking the rocking/nursing/pumping area might be once the room is finished, to see what it would actually look like. The side table is from Ikea and was a bit shorter and wider than it looked like online, but i think it would actually work out, especially if i make it the "pumping station" - plenty of space to put everything! Also, the top comes off, so we can use the basket for storing toys, blankets, etc...
(the dresser is going away, and so is the hint of the queen size bed that you can see in the bottom right of the picture)
I love all the ideas I've seen and the variety. I personally think that dinasuars and space are great themes for both boys and girls.
Anyone order from Wayfair before? Is their stuff in general good quality? Anything to know before purchasing from them? I've never ordered from them before but have seen a few things I like on there.
So a local baby store closed and had an auction today. I got a crazy good deal on a crib, and the crib I liked included a bedding set, which I also happened to like, so this will be the official inspiration for my nursery! So excited!
@caseyw8784 Would you happen to know what type of paint your father used to repaint that rocking chair with? I'm about to redo a changing table someone gave me, and looking for a good "white" to use.
Bringing back an old thread because that's how I roll. I remember seeing a few people say that they might use some Rifle Paper Co designs in their nurseries, but I saw that the Chatbooks have the Rifle Paper Co designs and I can't wait to print some out when the new babe is here, when she looks through them, in her room. I can't wait. Also, for DS I use a special hashtag on Instagram so it's easy to pull images into his books.
@burnsmommy27 Thanks so much!! We had one sheet included with our crib purchase. I wanted more but couldn't justify $25 for a crib sheet, so that helps!!
@supercoolstephy I love all of that! My co-worker has the bottom floral sheets, and we had talked about how perfect the one with the oval would be for her to use for monthly pics!
So help me god, I will have something to add to this thread by November... ordered prints and curtains... bought a shelf from Land of Nod but hate it (still planning on making it work). I need to get my butt in line.
PS on the Glider front... I rarely used mine with DD I ended up nursing mostly on the couch or lying down. But obviously, I'll be putting it back in this nursery and giving it another go!
@EmilyLove25 We used our glider quite a bit in the first few months. I sold mine when DS was about a year though. I was planning to use the recliner in our living room in her room this time but DH has taken it back so now I need something in her room. Ugh. I was hoping to save some money on that. But I'm going to have to get something since the dogs and cat want to run around and jump on everyone whenever I'm on the couch. And the dog whines if the cats can be near me and he's in the crate. Bah! Last time, whenever DS was sick I would sleep in my stepsons room, he has my old queen bed, but now that DS and SS will be sharing a room I have nowhere to go.
