The other moms told me to leave and posted videos of dirty people and animals. I tell you I am different to say please don't tease me and post videos. Some things I don't understand at first but I will ask for help or my mom will help too. I made some nice friends today too and I am happy. A friend told me to watch what other moms say to understand before talking so I will. I want to ask to understand I am different before I start talking. I am a great friend and I am going to be a mom too my doctor sees me next week to check the baby. Thank you for helping, Maggie
@maggiebakescakes This thread is for people to ask questions related to their pregnancy. Do you have a specific question? The post you just made would have gone great in the introduction thread which I believe you already posted on. You don't have to reintroduce yourself on every thread. Just take some time to lurk and get to know how the board works a bit. I think that's probably what your friend meant by watch what other moms say... if you would have lurked then you would have noticed this thread is for questions. Also- the ladies in TTGP were posting those videos because they wanted to change the subject. They wanted you to leave the board because it's not appropriate for you to be posting there. The videos of pancakes and animals wasn't directed towards you it was just meant to be a hint for you to move on.
Thanks everyone on their opinion about the ultrasound boutique. After looking at the websites of the 3 in my area, it doesn't look like they do any before 15 or so weeks which makes sense. I guess I'll just have to be patient. @beena722 - they do 2D, 3D and 4D.

@justkeepswimming8 I wonder why your doc waits so long for an U/S? Ours does a dating one at 8 weeks. @kindbytealikat I use protein powder also. I never asked the doctor but I know that your protein needs are increased so it's a good way to get protein in.
@peppersmith22 I won't have any blood work or even see the OB until 7 weeks 2 days. I have an US that day and probably blood work but nothing prior to then.
@peppersmith22 typically OBs won't do a beta draw unless there's a reason to. I got them because of a previous loss, and others get them if they've been under the care of an RE or if anything out of the ordinary pops up, like bleeding.
@peppersmith22 It just depends on the practice. My doctor wouldn't do betas for me, even though I've had two losses before this oregnancy, but they are doing an 8 week U/S.

@peppersmith22 I'm getting betas done because I was under the care of a reproductive endocrinologist (RE) when I got KU. My pregnancy was what they call "spontaneous" i.e. happened naturally and not the result of IUI or IVF, but most RE's standard practice is to do betas to track the pregnancy for a little while. Mine said that they'll do them until my HCG reaches 1000< and then schedule an ultrasound. Once they find the heartbeat I'll graduate from the RE and move on to a normal OB. FWIW OBs around here won't see you until 8-10 weeks nor do betas.
@peppersmith22 my OB doesn't do them on the regular I don't think. I asked for one this time because my HPT were faint and I wanted reassurance. With #1 my cycle was whacky so she drew two to try and get an idea where I was before scheduling an US
@peppersmith22, my OB isn't doing them with me this time, even with a loss history. He started to when I was pregnant with DS, but my first numbers were so high he had me come in immediately for ultrasounds.
@peppersmith22 Mine does not either - from my extensive lurking I thought it was really weird that my doc didn't want to see me til 8 weeks, but I realize now that's a good thing... even though the waiting is excruciating! My OB also doesn't do U/S until 11-13 weeks, so at least you've got that going for you! So anxious rn.
@frenchiekinplusone 11-13 weeks! That's a long wait. I'm a worrier. I considered buying one of those home heartbeat finder things (excuse my technical terms) but those don't pick anything up until later anyway and would probably make me more anxious
@peppersmith22 I know, I'm dying. Same as you, I am a worrier but trying my best not to stress myself - or this baby - out about it. Hoping they will at least do the heartbeat doppler at the 8wk.
Separate question for all you veterans who've been through MS before - how did you not call out of work everyday? I'm not even at the puke-stage yet (totally just jinxed myself) and all I want to do is lay on the couch.
@frenchiekinplusone I never vomited but I was nauseated 24h/d for 20 weeks. I drank a lot of sprite and smacked on goldfish. For me an empty stomach made things so much worse. Tums and mylanta are also acceptable if you're having heartburn
@frenchiekinplusone I bought a fetal heart monitor last time and was able to pick up the HB at 9 weeks. It definitely was amazing to have until LO started moving consistently.
Here is my question: I am supposed to have 2 wisdom teeth extracted tomorrow (with just getting back from vaca and the pregnancy news I totally forgot!). My dentist does not do general anesthetic, so it would be local (no idea exactly what they use). Obviously I am going to call and discuss with her before I go in, but does anyone have any experience with this or info? I have been trying to research and am not getting any clear answers.
@frenchiekinplusone, it is hard. I have MS for the entirety of the pregnancy. I took a lot of zofran with my son. I am not sure if that is even an option anymore. Eating small frequent meals help, and just vomiting and not fighting it helps me too. I am certainly trying Seabands which are helping, but I had carpal tunnel surgery 2 weeks ago, so they hurt and I can't wear them long.
@kindbytealikat@holly321 Thanks ladies! Sorry you both had such long bouts of MS. Honestly no food sounds appealing to me right now so I'll have to find something... Goldfish are a good call, gonna pick some up today. Just another excuse to go to Target
@sapphires-and-diamonds I'll have to look into getting one! I'm worried I'd just freak myself out unnecessarily if I couldn't find the heartbeat
Hello I am Maggie. I am 37 years old and I got a positive test on a digital reader today. I am deaf and have some learning disabilities but I go to a college class 3 days a week to learn to write better. I am in different chat rooms for people like me and we sign on video but I made a mistake today and posted in the wrong room here. My husband is Paul he is 34 and he has a job. We live with my mom and she helps me write things and do more things and she is going to help me with the baby too. Today is my first day. I want to say hello to other moms and to say I am different but I am a good friend. Hi, Maggie! Thank your for sharing your disabilities and situation with us. It sounds like you had a rough go of things on this site early on, but now that you're here in the April18 group, I'm sure no one will have a problem extending some grace towards you as your navigate your way through things. It can be tough even for people who don't face the same kinds of challenges you do!
It sounds like you have a great support system at home with your mom and your friends! Hopefully we can offer you some support and comfort here as well. Looking forward to getting to know you better!

@justkeepswimming8 I was going to say if it's one of those that do the 3D/4D ultrasounds the earliest they do is 15 weeks for an early gender reveal. I got one with my son but lied and said I was 15 weeks when I was only 14 We could tell what he was clear as day. Waiting for the first ultrasound is pure torture!
Thank you for the nice words. I am afraid to say anything because I am always in trouble I don't mean to introduce myself again I showed my mom the videos and the messages and she told me to write again and tell people first that I am different then they will be nice and let me learn. I have a job and Paul is my husband he has a job too. We live with my mom and we are happy about the baby. I am a good friend and I don't want to be in trouble. It is hard for me to tell you what I mean because I sign and writing words together is hard for me and there are a lot of chat rooms here and I do not understand them all. I am a good friend and I want to be a good mom too. I am hoping to make more friends too. I am different but I am smart and good in different ways. Thank you for being my friend. Someone is always saying I am bad here and I don't know what to do. Thank you for your message, Maggie
@frenchiekinplusone I would say I would also eat when I got nauseous usually a banana. If a snack didn't help I would suck on a peppermint. I know when you are not feeling well the last thing you want to do is eat, so either keep snacking or when it it starts and isn't to bad hurry and eat.
Thank you for the nice words. Hi, Maggie,
I did go and read what happened over in the other board when you posted there. I don't think that was fun for anyone to read. I would like to think that no one would make things up like being deaf and having learning disabilities, but unfortunately I think that does happen sometimes.
it sounds like you really want to be a member of his community. Just be honest and let people know when you are having trouble, and I think you'll be fine.

I don't want to be deaf but there was an accident when I was born and a fever too. The doctor said it won't go to my baby too. I tried to tell the other girls I did not understand and they told me same thin The doctor said it won't go to my baby too. I tried to tell the other girls I did not understand and they told me mean things and movies about being dirty and I can't hear them. I have six girls that are sending me inbox messages and they are very nice and I like talking to them. I want more friends on the inbox to. Thank you for being nice to me and I will ask questions when I don't understand and please do not tease me also I am afraid.
I am afraid that some people know me and paul and I have and I am different but better in different ways. I am afraid people would say I am a bad mom because I have some problems. But we talk to the doctor for three years and he told us it is OK And good. I have a job and Paul has a job and I go to a class at school three days a week. I have a job and Paul has a job and I go to a class at school we have a house for the baby and we live with my mom and see houses. My baby will go to regular school to. thanks, Maggie
@maggiebakescakes Those movies are called GIFS just so you know and we use them a lot on here for fun. There isn't any sound to hear on them, they are just moving images. The GIFS that were posted were not about you being dirty and as I explained before they weren't being directed towards you. I'm trying to be nice to you but please stop talking about what happened on the other board and just focus on getting to know the board here. No one is trying to tease you.
Hi I am sorry I was trying to explain why I am scared because that happen before. I am not going back to that room but I try to explain why it is scary for me. When you don't under then you have to tell people more about why you are and they told me here they will help me. I don't want to go back there I am trying to say why I am scared because it happened there it is not happening here but I say to please not do that to me because I don't understand but also people here are nice and that makes me happy to be with happy momS. I think all of these mom will be very good mom and I am happy to learn from all of the mom here. Thank you for understanding me, Maggie. Also, my teacher said to say that if people don't understand me, That I should say to please ask me and I will explain more. Thanks, Maggie
People in this room are very nice also my six friends in the inbox. I do not feel teased here but mom said that I have to tell people what I like and what I don't like because that way they will know so that is why I say that.
I am sorry it is hard for me to write down and say. I will ask my mom for help tonight to explain that I am happy in this room people are very nice and I was sad before but I do not go back there Ever again. I am trying to tell my friends here that I do not like the other thing that the other girl said so that way we know to befriend thanks, Maggie
@looeeze from what I have read HCG levels don't mean much and there is lots of variability between women and even pregnancy to pregnancy. I think it's more the number of weeks that matter in terms of what you will see on a u/s.
@looeeze yea no problem!! I asked a lot of my friends too and they were usually able to see the yolk sac at 5.5 weeks, some saw the fetal pole and only a handful saw a heartbeat. I am 6 weeks and was barely able to see the hb today.
@saralee797-2 I saw your lil bean in the ultrasound thread!!! Yay!!! I got an u/s yesterday at 5w1d and they only saw a gestational sac, but hcg was at 11,000, which is why I asked.
Oh sorry if I missed that @looeeze im trying to catch up here. Your numbers are great and I wouldn't worry because it is so early!! What do you go back?
@looeeze in the beginning they can get an age estimate but it's very wide. Like numbers from 2000-4000 can be within a couple weeks. But it's not very reliable because of the big ranges in levels and weeks.
