@looeeze I've got some more discharge than usual- but the same as my first pregnancies. As long as it's not gray or another gross color and doesn't have a really unpleasant odor, it's totally normal. I've been using panty liners for the last week to help combat it.
@SaraJoy00 I use them! There are a few they say to avoid but I would think diffusing any would be safe! If using them topically or internally I would do research on whichever ones you're using.
@alweldon86, cramping is VERY normal. It is the changes and growth of your uterus. It has been like 5 years since I have been pregnant, but I am pretty sure it never stops, to a degree.
@SaraJoy00 When I researched this, the reports varied quite a lot. From what I remember it comes down to this: basically, there hasn't been research on the use of most/any essential oils during pregnancy, so most people will cover their asses and tell you not to use them, especially during the first trimester. Also there are some that are believed to be more safe than others (you can consult google for lists). When I asked my midwife, she said they were fine, but not to use undiluted or internally (which you generally don't want to do anyways). Bottom line, you should ask your OB, but I would guess that a diffuser is fine.

So I have a previously scheduled massage next week? Is this even okay in the first trimester? A friend of mine told me she was turned down in her first tri...Iv been looking forward to it. So I'll be a little bummed haha
@zombiemom1318 I was always under the impression to avoid the first 12 weeks because of blood flow change massage causes and can lead to MC. After 12 weeks your good
@lund I have heard that from other ladies, but haven't experienced it myself. I have noticed that I've had a harder time getting to orgasm, but just figured that it was changes in blood flow or hormones or just coincidental.

@saralee797-2 It might not be the same for you! But yeah, some fantastic, painful cramps right after O for me. They only lasted about a minute, but I was like this is not ok!
And of course I'm randier than a 13 year old boy right now.
@lenniebriscoe what's the deal with smell?... I've been particularly odiferous combined with my hyper sense of smell it's been driving me nuts. Now I'm hoping it's not a bad sign
Do people have symptoms that come and go? Before my BFP I was super nauseous...basically living on crackers and chicken noodle soup. I was soooo exhausted all the time. It took me a second to realize it, but I was also SUPER bloated. Now.. the past two days I've woken up pretty ok... I feel like I could eat anything (doesn't always stay down) and I'm not as exhausted. I could take a nap now, but I don't feel like I HAVE to. Also I'm not as bloated as I was.... Just makes me nervous to have symptoms come and go....
My bloating seems like it's not as bad and my nausea seems to come in waves but mostly when I have an empty stomach. I have my first appointment next monday so I'm definitely gonna talk to her about it just to be sure.
@kmalls.. Thank you so much for the reassurance. We've been trying for a long time and this was our first round of IVF, so I'm super nervous and I keep praying for a sticky baby...

I don't really have any symptoms. I didn't in my other pregnancies either. I know it's easier said than done, but try to enjoy feeling well -- you truly cannot gauge a healthy pregnancy by your symptoms (or lack thereof).

@soulfyre14, I just wanted to second what @kmalls said. When I have been pregnant in the past, I will be nauseous for a week or two, it completely goes away for a few weeks, then comes back full force. I was really tired yesterday, but feel a lot better today, and honestly 8 think that is because I was busy and I didn't have time to be tired.
@soulfyre14 symptoms come from hormonal levels and changes mostly so as those fluctuate so will symptoms. Try not to stress. I know easier said than done
@bettyvonsomethingstein Yes I've had it for as long as I can remember. It's definitely not fun. I'm still learning how to be a mom to a sick child. Thank god for MH.
It's funny how different bodies are! I actually always notice that orgasm feel better while pregnant. More muscles involved or something . Hopefully it changes for you, since first tri is such a wild wild west experience for the body
Has anyone ever had a mammogram while pregnant? My sister was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and her oncologist recommended that I get a mammogram. I've read that it is considered "fairly safe," but that isn't very convincing to me. I plan to ask my doctor when i see her in a couple weeks, but wanted to know if anyone else had done it before.
@lund progesterone suppositories are the worst. On the brightside it sounds like you are still having sex. I don't think dh and I have got it on since we conceived.
@jbn999 so sorry about your sister. My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer about 3 years ago (she's fine now), which led to me getting genetic testing and finding out that I carry the BRCA1 mutation which raises my lifetime breast cancer risk to 85%, and my ovarian cancer risk to 50%. I've been pretty good about getting mammograms and MRIs in the past, so for me I think it's safe to skip them for 9 months as long as I'm doing self breast exams regularly, but I need to confirm with my doctor. Absolutely talk to your doctor and do what you feel best about. Did your sister have genetic testing done to figure out if her cancer was hormonal or genetic?
@linds0503 Well, we had actual intercourse once since getting PG. And, yesterday I asked my RE if it was safe to be having sex since I'm spotting and they told me that they actually recommend all of their patients refrain from intercourse until they find an heartbeat on ultrasound. But, keep in mind that this is a reproductive endocrinologist who treats reproductively challenged women, lol, not an OB. So 1. Thanks so much, doctor, for telling me this beforehand *sarcasm*, and 2. I'm damn glad i asked!
@lund I see an RE as well (annovulatory PCOS). I sometimes feel like the REs would put us all on bedrest for the whole 9 months if they could. I think it will be hard to go from their overprotective care to normal care, but I will be so happy to transition.
