Hi everyone-- I just did a brief intro on the newbie thread, but I had some questions. I haven't tried to get pregnant in 4 yrs so I do not remember anything.
About me for those who might not read the newbie thread: I am 35 and my husband is 34. I work in special ed (admin) and my husband is in consulting. We are ttc #2 (our kiddo is now 3). I am a bit nervous this time around for some reason. I can't place it, but I just don't feel confident. Maybe because I'm older?
Last month my cycle was 32 days and I had a positive opk on cd20. We did not ttc. This cycle, I had a positive opk on cd18 using wondfo and clear blue. Wondfo looked positive on cd17, but the clear blue was negative. We had sex on cd18 & 19. Today is cd23. Based on that, how many dpo am I?
Also, what are some things to avoid in the tww? Can I drink coffee? I'm personally choosing not to drink alcohol. Is there a correlation between cm and getting a bfp? Usually I have it (well, on birth control) and now I am bone dry. Thank you ladies!

If you went by OPKs, you'd be ~5 DPO. Temping would help you know whether the OPK was positive because you actually O'd, or if you just had a LH surge and didn't actually O. Hence why we generally recommend temping if you're able to.
I fully realize that the Newbie Guide needs to be updated because it doesn't mention the CS/Q thread that we have weekly -- but if you lurked like it suggested, you'd see it is utilized every week for questions like this.
Also, to the bolded - please don't ask the community if you may be pregnant, even in a round-about-way. It's against the board rules, and we can't see what's happening in your body.
You aren't old, really. so many people are able to get pregnant fast at this age. That being said, if you aren't successful within 6 months, you need to see your doctor. While it still will *probably* not be an issue, time is of the essence, here.
Last month my cycle was 32 days and I had a positive opk on cd20. We did not ttc. This cycle, I had a positive opk on cd18 using wondfo and clear blue In my opinion, ditch the clearblue. Different brands/types have different sensitivities and work differently. All it'll do is confuse you. Just use the wandfos. Wondfo looked positive on cd17, but the clear blue was negative. We had sex on cd18 & 19. Today is cd23. Based on that, how many dpo am I? I know it can be hard with a youngin' but try to temp. Some people get the surge and positive OPK a few hours before ovulation. Other people take days. It's really hard to say. Generally, ovulation occurs within 24 hours AFTER a positive OPK. how often are you OPKing? Some people get several days of positives, too. It's really hard to say. Confirmation by temping is crucial. IF you ovulated, say, the next day, you would be 5 DPO.
Also, what are some things to avoid in the tww? Can I drink coffee?
This is all up to you and your doctor. Generally there are two camps. camp one is always act like you are pregnant in your 2ww. So if that means you would choose not to drink coffee (but really, 1 cup is fine), etc. Or there is the camp that doesn't change till there is a second pink line. Blood supply isn't shared for several weeks, and most of what you do in the 2WW won't affect baby, but this is such a personal choice.
I'm personally choosing not to drink alcohol. Is there a correlation between cm and getting a bfp? Not really? Everyone is different. Some do notice a difference and then get a BFP. Some notice a difference and get a period. It really differs person to person, and honestly, cycle to cycle in the same person. Usually I have it (well, on birth control) and now I am bone dry. Thank you ladies! BC is a hormone, which affects things like CM. I wouldn't compare anything to while you were on BC. All bets are off. This is a different ballgame.
