Diagnosis (If you've been): Low progesterone
Cycle/CD: 11/16
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Appointment with OB Friday to discuss progesterone levels.
How are things going? Just getting anxious that this appointment is to humor me and that he's going to think it's all BS. Then it's just waiting until 9/5 for the RE appointment. Called my mom last night because she wants to know all the things so I explained the progesterone, insurance coverage, and then the success rates because she was sounding a little too convinced that RE=KU. She told me to relax because it's good for my body and soul. Thankfully we weren't facetiming so I could flip her off.
Any questions? Anyone know of any articles or studies that show that for TTC progesterone should be at least 10? Based on the conversation with the nurse it sounds like my OB is going by the standard non-TTC guidelines which the lower end of the range is 5.

@m6agua. Thank you so so much!!!! I feel like everyone from back in the day will be onto their second by the time we get KU!!! Lol but I guess that's okay too.

Ha! Yes, I know how this feels. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

Had my follie check this morning. I had a 30, 26, and 21 mm on the left and a 21 and 11 mm on the right. The nurse said they may not do the IUI because of HOM. She's going to talk to the doctor and call me later to let me know. I'm so frustrated because then they'll have to switch my meds next month so I don't over respond and now we're just wasting time.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)Hopefully starting the IVF process next week
How are things going? Pretty good. I'm happy we are finally starting something that may work. Next week I should get a repeat US and blood work, start birth control pills, meet with the nurse for our IVF tutorial and schedule, meet with the financial advisor to figure out how we are paying for all this and DH will submit his first 'back-up' sample to freeze. I will be on BCP for 3 weeks before starting stims so if his initial sample is horrible then he has time to give more samples.
Any questions? DH went back to his urologist. He does not think it is the clomid affecting his count and actually gave him a new prescription to continue it. Does anyone know if there is a lifetime limit on clomid for men as well? I though I saw someone mention it once but the urologist has not mentioned said anything.
GTKY: What languages do you speak? Any that you wish you spoke? Mainly English and limited Spanish. Wish I spoke fluent Spanish because it is a real asset where I live.
@kiwi2628 sorry for the bfn @JuneRoseRuby I feel you. I have missed so many opportunities due to IF or planning for a baby that's not here yet. I really hope your consult goes well tomorrow. FX for you. @RVAmom315 hope the appointment goes well today @zwink1 I hope your H gets a second opinion. We have seen 2 RUs and they have different opinions on everything apparently. Most recently one said he maybe feels a cyst which may be causing blockage(but then I'm like he had an ultrasound which was normal). Seems like to be sure of anything we would need to do exploratory surgery. @BertieMeetsGertie hope the SA results are good! @laurad75 hugs to you and hope everything goes quickly now! I have FX that this is it for you! @TravelingCouple I hope this IUI works for you. So sorry it has been so difficult. Either way I hope taking a break and moving into the new house will also help. @beachbunnyxo123 sorry about the bfn. Hope you can get everything done in time for the next cycle. @BusinessWife I'm so happy you guys got those swimmers! Now things will really start moving. Rooting hard for you! @Pinky917 sorry about the job. I hope it gets sorted out soon. FX for you that this cycle goes well. @Hollyyyyy that is a lot but just prioritize and see what happens. You can't plan everything in advance, especially when dealing with IF unfortunately. @shortstack930 so sorry and hope they don't have to cancel. Seems like it's such a fine line with these meds. If they cancel will they let you HIO at home?
@safire3 Good luck with your ivf appt! A bunch of you are going to be on the same schedule it looks like @alohakumu@businesswife and we may be right behind you (@magnolia131 and I)
@shortstack930 Oh that's so frustrating When will they make a decision about canceling?
AFM -- IVF consult later this afternoon. I feel like I am going to throw up I'm so anxious. DH is trying to reassure me but I really need to get my nerves under control.
@TravelingCouple@Redpuma119 I think it will be several days. We have an HMO insurance and the office hours for SAs didn't work with my DH's schedule. So, my gyn gave us an order to get it done at the fertility clinic they refer to. Because we did that, the results will go to my gyn and then she will have to tell us. I emailed her this morning asking how we would get the results once they came in (they use an online portal but my DH never set up an account - I'll ask him to do this tonight).
@shortstack930 ugh! I'm sorry they might have to cancel. That's incredibly frustrating.

@safire3 I'm not sure, I think they would probably tell us to abstain just in case.
@adirat they're supposed to call me and let me know this afternoon. I'm wondering if I can ask them to convert it to an IVF cycle, I feel like I've heard people mention that before. Good luck at your consult today!!

@adirat GL at your appointment today! You got this!!
@safire3 FX you get to start the IVF process next week! You totally hit the nail on the head. I am very type A, and always want to have a plan for everything. Sometimes I need a reality check.
@adirat don't worry, you got this! Definitely looking forward to having some IVF buddies and a lot of us *hopefully* getting to graduate from this thread. @Hollyyyyy I am exactly the same. Usually my DH has to let me know that I can't control everything and whatever happens we will work it out together.
Hey all, had my RE consult today and it went well. I really liked the doctor, he was impressed with me "doing my homework". He basically didn't say anything I didn't already know, or expect.
Basically with 0 morph our best option is IVF w/ ICSI. He said we could do IUI but our chance is like 5%. With the IVF he said we'll over 50%. He said with my numbers he's very optimistic.
So where we are at is now that I have more info I'm getting back on the phone with my insurance (and the insurance gal at the clinic is doing some research for us as well) and find out what we are looking at OOP. They quoted us at $23,000 (before insurance) with ICSI and PGS testing (and my insurance covers 60-70% - that's what the insurance counselor said based on her knowledge of our insurance)
Argh. I'm so overwhelmed! Lots of thinking and talking and research to do. Doc said we can start next cycle (mid August)
@shortstack930 ugh! I'm so sorry they might cancel you. I've had a cycle cancelled before but I had 18 follies over 16mm so they definitely told us not to HIO at home and did give us the option of converting to IVF. In your case, I'm not sure if their advice will be different. I know some REs (including mine) will do an IUI with 4 follies. Good luck!
@RVAmom315 wow, that's a lot of information! Did the RE suggest anything for increasing morph? I'm not sure what research is out there, but just curious. It's great that your insurance would likely cover a large percentage!
Me: 31 DH: 32 Dating since: 11/17/2001 Married: 9/26/2009 TTC: June 2016
@BertieMeetsGertie Honestly no. He said it's very hard to increase morph (significantly). I told him DH is taking FertilAid, Coq10, and a multi vitamin, and he said it was good, but would maybe only increase him to 1-2% (which is still low/abnormal). Obviously better than nothing, so we'll keep with it.
@laurad75 Ugh, I feel you on just being tired of all the waiting, and the not being KU. I see us like this, only maybe a little less crazy. Or not, LOL.
@kiwi2628 and @beachbunnyxo123 I'm right there with you girls. Looks like we're IUI AND BFN buddies.
@TravelingCouple Huge hugs to you. I'm so sorry that the meds bring depression with them. IF is enough to deal with...that is such bullshit that you have to deal with both.
@adirat I hope you get what you need out of your IVF consult today. Thinking of you.
@Shortstack06 Oh honey, I'm sorry it's going that way. I hope you don't have to cancel!
Status: WFAF(BFN #4 this morning...yes, you read that right...*facepalm*)
What are you doing: Right now? **TW** Going down the rabbit hole of charts with BFN on 13DPO and BFP on 14DPO. It's a new level of BSC/7th Circle of Hell for me. Most people that get their first BFN on 14DPO either didn't test first or tested earlier that 13DPO. And those that did it right in a row like that? Mostly losses.I know AF is on her way and will likely show up tomorrow. And yet, here I am having to convince myself. End TW**
How are things going: Since my coping mechanism is to do something that I can
control, I'm arranging for the vials of frozen sperm for next cycle
to be shipped. That one will be fun because we will be in my hometown
for our "I Do BBQ" right during FW, and I may O before we come home (which will mean no IUI, unless my midwife has a friend there, which is possible because she used to live and work there). So
guess who's taking a tank of liquid nitrogen containing vials of frozen sperm
on a 400 mile drive? At least we're not flying!!
I also
finally went this morning for the BW I've been putting off. I'm having
my AMH levels checked again since it's been about a year, and I'm scared
shitless it will have gotten worse instead of better, even with all the
changes I've made. I figure that since AF is on her way, may as well
rip off that BandAid and get it all done at once. Any questions: Nothing anyone but Mother Nature or God could answer...

@rvamom315 Nice job with the "homework." I bet it felt so nice to go in and have a conversation, instead of a bunch of explaining. And that is soooo soon!!!!
@Redpuma119 Haha part of it is that I'm a former librarian so research is my thang! Also, it's because of all you awesome ladies - I seriously learned so much from just being here, and hearing about all of your journeys that helped me understand everything so much more
@RVAmom315 thanks for the info. Sorry to hear that IVF with icsi is your only option with a good percent chance of working. It's a big step to take, so take your time thinking about it!
Me: 31 DH: 32 Dating since: 11/17/2001 Married: 9/26/2009 TTC: June 2016
@RVAmom315 I'm sorry that IVF is your only option but that's great that they can get you in so quickly! @TravelingCouple I'm glad the IUI went well! @Aurora1973 I'm so sorry for the BFN.
So the nurse called back back from the RE and said that the doctor is okay with us going ahead with the IUI as long as I understand there is a risk of multiples. We decided to go ahead and do it because I had three follicles for each of the last two IUIs and still no pregnancy so I'm not confident this will work anyway. Then we had scheduling issues because they could only get DH on at 10:30 to give his sample and he has work. He was able to arrange it so that he can come in late so now our IUI is scheduled for Thursday
When I went to pick up my Ovidrel, the pharmacist told me that they hadn't put my insurance in their system so they actually owed me a refund from the last few months of $81.73!!!! And my Ovidrel was free today! Then she started talking to me and asked if we were going to do IVF next and when I told her we're on the fence about it she gave me her card and told me she went through IVF and to call her any time if I have any questions or if I want her to go over pricing with me. I thought that was so nice of her!!! So all in all, hectic but pretty good day.

So I have been swamped at work all day but I wanted to give an update. Another bfn today so it looks like im just WFAF. I spoke with DH about IVF over the injectables because of the risk and not wanting to have to pay OOP for a possibly cancelled cycle. But I just didn't feel comfortable moving onto IVF with my doc as his SART report is not that good. He is also a small practice and I know I've spoken here before about how I don't trust his team and haven't gotten good vibes there. So anyhow I figured if we decide to do IVF (which we pretty much have) I want to go somewhere with good success rates so I called another clinic and got an appointment for monday!!! Ahhh!!! I was expecting to have to wait awhile so I'm so excited and I feel so beyond relieved. So while the team at my current RE is slow the medical records department isn't and they already sent all my records to the new clinic so I don't have to do any repeat testing. I was not feeling so good yesterday but today I feel so much better and hopeful!
@TravelingCouple yay so glad the IUI went well! Fx so hard for you!!!!!
@RVAmom315 sounds like a lot to think about! That's awesome that they can start so soon if you decided to!
@shortstack930 glad that everything is worked out for Thursday!! And your pharmacist sounds awesome! What meds were you doing this cycle that produced so many follies?
@safire3 glad that you are finally moving forward!!!
@BertieMeetsGertie fx for great results!! Did they say when you would get them back?
@beachbunnyxo123 I'm so glad that you were able to get an appointment so soon and that you're feeling hopeful again! I'm still on the same meds as the previous two months, 50mg Clomid, and the last two months I produced 3 follicles each cycle so I don't know why it's more this time.

@JuneRoseRuby I feel you. I have missed so many opportunities due to IF or planning for a baby that's not here yet. I really hope your consult goes well tomorrow. FX for you.
@RVAmom315 hope the appointment goes well today
@zwink1 I hope your H gets a second opinion.
@shortstack930 Oh that's so frustrating When will they make a decision about canceling?
@travelingcouple Good luck today!
@BertieMeetsGertie I hope you get results soon!
AFM -- IVF consult later this afternoon. I feel like I am going to throw up I'm so anxious. DH is trying to reassure me but I really need to get my nerves under control.
@shortstack930 ugh! I'm sorry they might have to cancel. That's incredibly frustrating.

@adirat they're supposed to call me and let me know this afternoon. I'm wondering if I can ask them to convert it to an IVF cycle, I feel like I've heard people mention that before. Good luck at your consult today!!

@shortstack930 Noooo!! That is so frustrating
@adirat GL at your appointment today! You got this!!
@safire3 FX you get to start the IVF process next week! You totally hit the nail on the head. I am very type A, and always want to have a plan for everything. Sometimes I need a reality check.
@Hollyyyyy I am exactly the same. Usually my DH has to let me know that I can't control everything and whatever happens we will work it out together.

@BertieMeetsGertie That's exciting...hope the results come back perfect
@RVAmom315 So glad it went well!
AFM:
Diagnosis: DOR, AMA
Cycle/CD: 22 (16AL)/CD26 13DPO
Status: WFAF (BFN #4 this morning...yes, you read that right...*facepalm*)
What are you doing: Right now? **TW** Going down the rabbit hole of charts with BFN on 13DPO and BFP on 14DPO. It's a new level of BSC/7th Circle of Hell for me. Most people that get their first BFN on 14DPO either didn't test first or tested earlier that 13DPO. And those that did it right in a row like that? Mostly losses. I know AF is on her way and will likely show up tomorrow. And yet, here I am having to convince myself. End TW**
How are things going: Since my coping mechanism is to do something that I can control, I'm arranging for the vials of frozen sperm for next cycle to be shipped. That one will be fun because we will be in my hometown for our "I Do BBQ" right during FW, and I may O before we come home (which will mean no IUI, unless my midwife has a friend there, which is possible because she used to live and work there). So guess who's taking a tank of liquid nitrogen containing vials of frozen sperm on a 400 mile drive? At least we're not flying!!
I also finally went this morning for the BW I've been putting off. I'm having my AMH levels checked again since it's been about a year, and I'm scared shitless it will have gotten worse instead of better, even with all the changes I've made. I figure that since AF is on her way, may as well rip off that BandAid and get it all done at once.
Any questions: Nothing anyone but Mother Nature or God could answer...
GTKY: I used to be pretty fluent in Spanglish because of my friends growing up, but I've lost so much of that over the years of not using it. I would love to learn it again. Or, you know, actual real Spanish.
