What brings you to BOTB? I have been active on TTGP (I recognize some names - Hi! *waves*). I was thinking about taking a step back from TB but I thought maybe I could pop over here. This seems like a very friendly supportive board that is slightly slower so I might actually be able to keep up! I hopes its okay if I join you all
When will you start TTC? We started last December, took Jan off for insurance reasons, *TW had a CP in February /TW, and nothing sense! I am just about to start cycle 8 of trying (probably tomorrow).
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.) We live in ND and I stay busy working for a large oil company. We also have two dogs (4 yr old black lab/springer mix and 9 month old golden retriever). We love them even though they are both PITAs. Other interests - house projects, wine, beer, and food.
Me: 31 DH: 34 Married: April 2016 TTC December 2016 BFP 2/28/17 // CP 3/1/17 MFI Diagnosis: Aug 2017 BFP 11/1/17 // DS born 6/18 TTC January 2019 BFP 3/21/19 // D&C (MMC) 5/8/19
And I totally realized that I never introduced myself in BOTB. I'm just a mystery, an enigma wrapped in a riddle. OR I'm just lazy.
Ages (you and SO): I'm 33, he's 36.
What brings you to BOTB? Ya'll are some cool be-atches.
When will you start TTC? We started this April (on MH's birthday! It was kinda my "birthday gift" to him).
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.) Hi I'm Jenny! I'm a self proclaimed foodie, born and raised in the Los Angeles area. We have 1 adorable fur-baby that we adopted in January (he's a 10 month old dachshund mix). I collect Pez dispensers and am in the process of getting a job that does not involve customer service, but that's tbd.
What brings you to BOTB? Info gathering until it's TTC time!
When will you start TTC? Probably 4-6 months. We're getting married soon and will wait till at least after the honeymoon. I want to make sure AF doesn't crash the party, so I'll stop taking BC at the end of November.
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.): I work downtown as a "coordinator" for a department, He works as an electrical engineer. Three dogs, two fish tanks, one cat, they are our kids for now. Wedding planning pretty much takes up all our time!
@glitzandglitter - Just that 72 hour wait. I'm on an info gathering mission. Really glad I found a group that can help point me in the right direction when I have questions that the Google can't answer.
And I love Pez! I don't so much collect dispensers as lose track of them and buy more.
Also, @kimberbeep, AF did crash my honeymoon, despite being on birth control pills. But my body was incredibly determined to maintain a 24 day cycle, so I often had break through bleeding. Not cool. So good plan to skip that.
@JennyColada - MMM Pez... but I'm a sucker for pretty much any candy!
@Secretstapler - I had break through bleeding last time I tried to delay AF by skipping the inactive pills. It only worked for a week and then I ended up with a spotty period for like 2 weeks. I'll never bother with that again. This time, I charted it out on the calendar as soon as we decided when the honeymoon would be. Each month I've been waiting one day to start the active pills. By the time honeymoon rolls around, I'll have pushed everything back by a week. AF should arrive 5 days after we get back. I made sure to leave a buffer! (I am not a doctor and don't recommend other people do this without consulting their dr first!
What brings you to BOTB? I was lurking and posting occasionally on TTGP, but I was thinking I might fit in better over here for now. I was on a BMB with DD and really enjoyed chatting with people in the same boat.
When will you start TTC? Now
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.) DD is almost 2. We have no pets now but plan to get a dog when DD is old enough to lie about taking care of it. I'm currently a SAHM. Once upon a time I was a high school history teacher, and then I went back to grad school to get my PhD, and am still trying to finish the dissertation (will I finish? Anyone's bet. If so I hope to go back to teaching one day). We live in NC (previously in DC and Chi). I don't like pina coladas or getting caught in the rain but I do like Rose and reading books on the beach.
@lbeach5885 Welcome! I'm supposedly working on a dissertation, too! I don't know if I'll ever finish either. At this point, I'm kind of hoping I'll just get knocked up soon and have a good excuse not to. Good luck either way!
What brings you to BOTB? Lurking on various boards and think this is where I best fit in
When will you start TTC? Trying to decide if we want to try for #3. Currently I am nursing my 7 month old with no return of cycle. I know you can get pregnant before but I didn't get my cycle back until my first was 15 months so I think I have some time until we are actively TTC
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.)
we have 2 boys- almost 3 years and 7 months old and one dog. We love to travel. While it is not as relaxing as it was pre-kids we still do it and have a lot of fun..stressful/busy but overall I like it. I work from home in research analytics and my husband works in construction sales.
What brings you to BOTB? I want another child and my SO is one and done. Hopefully I can convince him otherwise!
When will you start TTC? I'm hoping we can start trying around March (got to convince him first)!
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.) We have a 9 month old daughter who we love so so so much!! She's our life. We both work full time, have one dog, and enjoy just staying busy with life.
@fitlady21 everyone starts to miss that newborn stage and want another as their baby gets older and turns into a toddler! You miss the sweet stuff and forget the sleepless nights. 9m is still young, I think back then I didn't know if I wanted another but now we are ready. Hopefully DH comes around soon!
Hi all! I've been stalking this board for a few days now and am excited to join in.
Ages (you and SO): 30 and 30
What brings you to BOTB? DH decided he was ready to try for our first earlier this summer (I'd been ready for a while...go figure), but I started a new job in June and we thought it was wise to wait a little, for FMLA (my employer has no maternity leave policy) and general goodwill purposes, both.
When will you start TTC? October!
Tell us about yourself (kids, pets, job, interests, etc.): DH and I live in Texas, where I'm legal counsel at a large-ish company and he works for a local arts non-profit. We have a 1-year-old chocolate lab that is our everything, and comes home from "sleep away camp" (field test training) next month. I love college football, learning languages and, dorkily enough, reading personal finance blogs.
@lalala2004 Glad to meet a neighbor of sorts! We're in Houston, but have family in Dallas and spend quite a bit of time there. I speak Italian proficiently if rust-ily, and some basic Spanish and German. I actually just signed up for a French class for this fall so that's the next frontier.
