Re: TTCAL week of 7/17/17

  • 1. Hi I'm new. First pregnancy in May, first loss in June.
    2. Trying again, DH and I know it can happen now, so we have hope at least.
    3. Rave and Rant? Rave: Tomorrow I am done my antibiotics, as I am getting over strep throat because I cannot catch a friggin break.  Rant: last week I shouted and swore at a friend because he is vet political and pro-abortion, and he did not let it go when I told him to shut up. He did not seem to notice my tone or body language, and it ended with me shouting that I had lost my little poppyseed and I had no empathy for someone who wanted to kill the one thing I desperately wanted to still be alive. I then went upstairs to cry for a few minutes, DH had to come check on me, it was a bit of an awkward dinner... not my best day.
    4. I have a hobby wherein I make jewellery. I sell a little bit of it here and I would love to make and sell it all the time and be able to afford to live. That would be a heck of a good day.

@rosemaryandthyme I am glad you got to ride some rollercoaster. Ffc the first time I rode one upside, I was 27.
@leahcimmichael loving your analogy. I feel like drinking at this moment is my consultation prize.
Rant: my daughter had p.t. today and her therapist was like oh you know it would be great for her to have a sibling. I then explained about the miscarriage and she was like well maybe it's better you don't have a newborn and a toddler. I hate to admit but a few tears streamed out after that comment.
  • @rklinge0 Yikes, that was a really shitty comment from the PT...totally unprofessional.  So sorry that you had that happen today :(
  • @rklinge0 "Boooo" at the PT's insensitive comments. I mean, c'mon well-meaning strangers of the world, worry about your own reproductive organs!
The snarky side of me would've been like "good idea. You giving one away?" My MIL has been trying to give us a family heirloom toddler bed. I told DH "not unless she is also going to provide a toddler to occupy it." Sass is my natural defense against insensitivity.
  • 1. New here. Was due Dec 27, had missed miscarriage at 9 wks and D&C on May 30. Just started trying again, so I'm anxious but excited. I also have a 3 yr old daughter.
    2. Status? Ttc
    3. R/R? Not too much to rave about right now, feel like I'm getting a cold, blech.
    4. Describe your dream job? Is it what you currently do or something you'd like to do? I love what I do, corporate communications for a large retailer, but my dream would be to go on tour with a rock band
  • @JelloBean1 sorry for your loss.  I hope your stay is short.  This is a great community.  What rock band would you tour with?
  • @Mack2342 thanks, it was definitely a shock since everything seemed fine the whole time, no signs of anything going wrong. Thankfully I have a good support system of close family and friends and my co-workers were all very supportive too.

I'm a self-published author on the side, so I live out my rockstar dreams through my characters! I'm writing my 3rd book right now. But for real ones, my fave band is Hanson, yep, 20 years later and I still love them. I listened to them on the way to the hospital to give birth to my daughter and I wore one of their tshirts to my D&C to help me feel better.
  • @JelloBean1 I was in the same position.  My first pregnancy was healthy with DS.  2nd one seemed to be just like first and never did I think MC but US showed no heartbeat.  I went to US for 3rd pregnancy knowing it might not be viable and baby didn't grow past 5wks.  It is wonderful that you have great support that's important.  I've never listened to Hanson. I think I might know one song lol
