@kyrwyn FTM too and I was also surprised! At our NT scan at 12 weeks, the technician was pushing on my stomach super hard to the point where I had to ask: "Is this okay for the baby?" and she assured me everything was fine, but my stomach was sore the next day. My anatomy scan was a little bit more gentle because LO was moving around a good deal.
Just wanted to do a small recap too of my appt last week in case any other FTMs were wondering what to expect. The appt was about 30 minutes or so and basically the technician goes through each part of the baby's body and takes pictures and measurements where applicable. She measured LO's head size, arms, legs, etc. She took pictures of everything and checked out the health of the major organs such as heart, kidneys, stomach, etc. All looked good! It was towards the end that she arrived to LO's reproductive organs, where she informed us that LO was a girl. Overall it was a good visit. I didn't have to have a full bladder or anything, and I was fairly comfortable during the whole scan.

@peachy13 Thank you for recapping your anatomy scan. Mine isn't until August, so it's really helpful to have an idea about what to expect. Glad all went well for you, and congrats on your little girl!
Had mine today. Baby girl looked great but unfortunately they found I'm missing an artery on the umbilical cord. We go for a fetal echocardiogram on Aug. 1. Trying to be optimistic but I'm scared.

@thatlauragirl... I was just reading up about only having 1 instead of 2 arteries in the umbilical cord... it is typically not a concern... my co-worker has a super healthy and happy 2month old son that lacked his 2nd artery!! Finger's crossed for you and LO...
@thatlauragirl i'm sorry to hear about the single artery. i believe this happens in about 1 percent of pregnancies, so more than you would think. it is GREAT news that baby otherwise looks good!! FX for a good echo. i know the wait will be hard on you.

July 28th, i'll be exactly 20 weeks! I'm sad this is most likely our last ultrasound this pregnancy. They don't do one later on unless there is concern.
@whiska@kathrynj088 I call it the dildocam. I had an AS yesterday (16+5) and they could see my cervix(?!) I was surprised, but no dildocam... she even measured it...
I get another AS beginning of August!

I just had mine this morning and everything looked perfect. Little man was measuring a week ahead and gave us a good show. So.much.relief. I feel like a million lbs off my shoulders.
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
We had ours this week and despite Victor being absolutely uncooperative (wiggling, kicking, waving, flipping over, curling up in a ball, etc) they got all of the measurements needed and everything looks perfect. The tech thought we would have to come back another day for a better look at his heart as he just kept putting his little arms in the way but when the doctor came in he did a second scan (mainly because he had a student) and V was a little angel for him. I think he wore himself out because we also got to see him yawn which was pretty stinking cute.
We go in on August 7th for the anatomy scan - I'm really really excited about this. Haven't really felt much movement since I'm only a little over 16 weeks, so I'm most looking forward to seeing the LO move around like everyone else describes.
@jlemons-2 fx your maternit21 comes back fine and it's nothing! With DS they found a spot on his liver and my family doc FREAKED OUT about it (we didn't have an OB or midwife yet because I was low risk) and it obviously completely freaked me out too. Turned out to be absolutely nothing and all the docs I talked to in follow up (OB and MFM) said they had no idea why my GP made such a big deal because it's absolutely nothing. Did you have a NT scan or First Trimester screen?
I didn't do any other screening. This was my MFM that found it, he did say the rest of his heart looked good and his hands were not clenched which is good. But of course I'm now terrified.
Mine got pushed back till the 24th cause of a double booked spot so I'm hanging right for a few more days. @jlemons-2 praying all goes well and everything turns out fine.
