I have been so anxious to announce this pregnancy to my family, but want to do it in a fun way. Thought about getting a shirt that says sister on it for DD to wear and just have her wear it next time we are with family without saying anything to anyone and seeing how long it takes for someone to notice. Has anyone else announced yet? Or have any fun ways to go about it? I'd love to hear ideas! I can't decide if I should wait till the end of this trimester.. but it's so hard keeping it from my mom! Especially since I'm so bloated I feel like I look 16weeks!

For the public, probably something along the lines of this:
We just tell family. No big deal.
EDD March 12, 2018
We had the grandparents read DS a "I am a big brother" book. Took them a while to get it. I also gave onesies saying "I love my grandparents" when we were pregnant with DS. For my grandma we put a bun in the oven and made her look for her birthday present in the kitchen. I had tied blue and pink ribbon around it. She loved it.
For DH, I made the attached: (name blocked out for stranger danger purposes)
Last time we told my family early - like 5w3d - because it was Christmas. I wrapped a test with a note about my parents being grandparents and Baby [last name] arriving August 2016 and had them open it last. It was really special, but I was nervous to tell so early. We didn't tell DH's family until after the NT scan because my FIL is a huge gossip. Then we told family and friends after both immediate families knew. We did a social media announcement after the anatomy scan with our dog.
This time around I'm thinking we'll do something during DD's first birthday pictures. Just not sure what yet.

@justkeeptrying You're ticket idea is super cute
@potatocastillo I really like the whole breaking the taboo thing. I decided to tell close friends and family in a very matter of fact way too. I've never had a loss but I figure anyone who I told about IF treatments and anyone I would want support from during a loss I can tell now. No special announcements and no fanfare.
Neither of us are on social media so none of that here. The only thing we are thinking of doing something cute for is my MIL. But probably nothing super creative-- maybe just a grandma mug with a u/s pic inside. This will be her first grandkid so that alone will probably make her flip out.
We did a cute facebook announcement last time and will probably think of something again but maybe not for a couple months (16-20 weeks). I feel like keeping it a secret longer this time (for now...)
I chose to to stay positive and sent this announcement to our family as soon as we knew I was actually pregnant. They support both DH and I in the 24 hour waiting period between results to confirm what was going on.

For our parents we just put DD in the shirt and no one ever got it until we pointed it out. We'll probably tell extended family either at DD's party or a few weeks later.

Im excited to think of something fun. For DS, I handmade some cute cards and gifts that I mailed because my family is all over and they opened them while face timing. And on social media we did a Cubs theme with a baby jersey with our last name and balls that had the due date inside a glove. I am so excited to do something cute with DS! When I told DH, I got a "Big Bro" shirt for DS and when DH got home from work, DS walked over to him, wearing the shirt and shaking a ziploc bag with the two tests! LOL! It was super cute!!
We're going to announce tomorrow on FB after my 6 week check up. The kitchen is my DD's favorite toy right now, and our last name is food related, so I thought I'd just go with it. I only wish the front of her shirt was visible, alas toddlers don't cooperate. It says: #Epic #Cool #Sister
