Same here. Had to just remove the handles for my sanity. Now he drinks from it himself, but when he is done he throws it down and swipes it right off the tray. Looks like he bellied up to the bar and slammed a beer! Have to be quick to save it from the floor. I have given up on the straw cup currently... He just chews on the straw and I don't have the extra energy.

Jackie took her first couple shuffle steps today between the couch and dog toy basket. I'm so glad I happened to be watching at that particular moment.

Maddie is working on walking, she's taken up to 8 steps at one time (she can't stand up without holding onto something yet, so she has to get a "running start" from some kind of surface), and I swear she's saying bye to me when I leave in the morning. But no other words other than babble. Now that we're totally on whole milk I'm going to really push the sippy cups since she has been resisting them. I want to get those bottles out of my kitchen!
So LO still cannot stand unsupported (though he's graduated to one hand), but he can climb the couch well. He'll crawl to the couch, then pull to stand, then pull one foot up and then the other and he's on! Also, he is able to climb back down. At first, he slumps his upper body down, but realizes that hanging over the edge isn't gonna work, so then he turns around and slides one leg at a time off the couch until he's on the floor. Yet he can't walk.
DS walked across the room yesterday! And then kept doing it ALL DAY. He knew he was doing something good too because he did it for his dad first, and then when I walked in walked across the room with a big "look what I can do smile" plastered on his face. We later took him to the playground and he was walking there too!
Savannah is starting to really walk too! Her first steps were in 6/6 but now she is really walking! I can't believe I have a toddler!! She will be 1 tomorrow
We've reached a very dubious milestone. DD is now a climber. I noticed she kept "practicing" going up and down a curb on Sat with my niece, and yesterday we found her on the first step at home. (We haven't put gates up yet bc we're struggling with how to accommodate the banister, but obviously we need to get on that asap.)
So DH put her out on the indoor porch with me and closed the door, and I turned and found her standing on the wicker ottoman. Today he found her climbing onto her retired bouncey seat.
I think it's funny that we're trying to get her to say words, and her goals are clearly in another direction!

Jackie also likes to climb. Lately she's been putting a foot under the couch cushion trying to use it as a foot hold but hadn't quite mastered it yet. Our outdoor chaise however has slats that make for a perfect climbing wall!

Levi just refuses to walk! He cruises down furniture and pushes his walker toys on just finger tips but he absolutely will not even try to take a step without touching something. He will stand without assistance and drink out of his cup but will drop and crawl if there isn't something within reach to touch. Is this normal? I think it's just a lack of confidence and I know he will let go and go straight to a run one day and I'll wish he still crawled but he's just so close! Edited to say all his other milestones have been on time if not early and he even has 8 teeth and doc says his molars are trying to come in! He's completely on regular food and whole milk and drinks without assistance from a 360 cup.

Jackie has been the same way. She's only recently started taking steps on her own without being encouraged, but will hold my hand and walk all over the house. This is after months of cruising. One of the baby books I have said that big babies and really efficient crawlers will often be late walkers, just because crawling is so much easier. Jackie is both of those things.

We officially have a walker!!! It just happened all of the sudden, and I have to say.. I'm kind of sad about this milestone. I think this officially makes him a toddler.
I know how tough it is when you feel like your baby is behind in milestones, I have felt that way with savannah at times. But keep in mind that babies start walking between 9-15 months (some even up to 18!) so you are still very within the range of normal StayingFocused said:

My Dr said she doesn't expect walkers until 15 months, and doesn't worry until after 18mo.
@StayingFocused I wouldn't worry. These kids have a mind of their own and they decide which goals they are interested in pursuing. My LO was so focused on the physical milestones- pulling herself up, walking, and now climbing, but she just refuses to try other things, especially around eating different textures and sippy cups. She doesn't fuss, just nonchalantly takes things out of her mouth and tosses them.

This sounds exactly like us! He's on track with everything else but not got the confidence (I think) to let go and have a walk by himself. I'm not worried at all though - they can be up to 18 months and still considered "normal" age to walk.
Not sure if this is a milestone for Cameron, or for me lol, but I removed the crap out of the guest room/ Cameron's room so my husband can put his crib in there tonight. I am ready to have my room to myself again lol!
ETA: He will have to have a guest bed in his bedroom. I feel bad but I don't know where to put it and it is a nice mattress. Also, the ugly crappy thing on the bed is to keep cat hair off the actual bed spread.
Jackie started really walking this week. She can stand up without pulling up on something, but in most cases when she's standing she's take about a dozen steps before losing her balance and then crawling to her destination. She's also really into climbing things and wants to climb onto the couch constantly.

@Tawny87 I'm definitely ready to move Alyssa to her own room especially with our second on the way now but I'm hesitant because her rooms so far from ours lol we only have a three bedroom so when this baby comes we are trying to figure out where to put our guest bed too or debating on putting a pull out couch in the guest room or something but we already have a nice guest bed. DH thinks the Alyssa and the new baby should share rooms. I don't wanna do that to Alyssa plus her room is all pink and if it's a boy I wouldn't wanna put him in there.
Damien hasn't really said his first word(s) yet, that I can definitively tell at least. Some of his babbles still sound a bit French to me, which is really neat. There is one sound he says a lot lately that sounds just like the French word "d'accord," which means "okay" in English. Maybe that's his first word? Haha, who knows! I'm not worried over it, just curious more than anything.

He has taken to pointing at like everything and saying, "adis" which kind of sounds like "what's this?" but I think this is a stretch. He has always been a little bit slower in the communication skills space, but I know that he understands what we say to him, so I don't worry too much. I love that he points to his belly button when I start reading the "Belly Button" book to him. He does it even before I say "Bee Bo". Super cute.

Damien does the "mama mama mama" sound over and over again and there are times when I think he knows I'm Mama but other times I think he's just babbling. Hard to say.
14 months to the day and we have a walker!! He would take a few steps before towards us, but couldn't previously get to standing from sitting without some sort of assistance. Then today he did it all! Got up to standing from sitting and walked towards something other than us and without us prompting him. So exciting! We are proud parents today.
We had Damien's 15-month appt with the ped yesterday and the one thing she noted, which I've mentioned to you guys before, is that he hasn't said his first word(s) yet and doesn't make animal sound associations either. She didn't seem too concerned but encouraged us to continue having conversations with him, emphasizing key words, keep reading with him, etc. Basically keep doing what we're doing. She's wants him saying a few words by 18 months (I've read that as well) so until then, there's no need for concern. The dr would have been more worried if he wasn't responding to us calling his name, listening and following basic commands, etc. but since he does all of that, she says to give him a bit more time.
