IT'S A BOY! NT scan showed very clear boy parts. This is my second and last child, my first also a boy, so I'm thrilled my boy will have a buddy, which is what I wanted, but I am sad I will never get to relive my childhood girly stuff and buy the cute girl clothes.
Edited: Missed some stuff
@YorkieLove4 Yay! How far along were you for your NT scan? They guessed boy at mine (12w4d), and I have a gut feeling it was right, but it wasn't very clear boy parts; she said it was definitely still just a guess.
@huskymomma94 I was 12wks 6days. So we are in the same boat! With my first I was about 13.5wks at the NT scan and there was no mistaking he was a boy then. For this one, it's an earlier scan, but I saw the same. Tech didn't say with certainty baby is a boy, although they didn't last time either. They did say most likely. Between that and the visual I have, I'm pretty confident. Hopefully you get more certainty soon.
Based on the blood test. I had a feeling... at the last ultrasound, one of them shoved the other, and I had the impulse to say "be nice to your sister!" I've just been feeling girls. And I know it's totally unscientific and goofy, but I had the same feeling, that I'd be having twins, before I knew, so there is it.
Also, more importantly, indications that they are 99% likely to be genetically normal-- which is a relief. I have a cousin with Downs and I love him to pieces, but I know there are all kinds of health challenges associated.
But GIRLS!!!!!!!!
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
We are having a boy! Very excited since I have two girls already. I am very relieved that the genetic testing came back low risk.
4 losses- MC in 2006, MMC in February 2012 at 12 weeks and MMC (twins) August 2016 at 12 weeks. Pregnant again- 11/7/16. Another loss on December 28, 2016.
BFP April 23, 2017. Our triple rainbow baby! EDD: January 2, 2018. It's a boy!
And it's a BOY!! Surprised because we both thought it would be a girl. This is our first. Now someone tell me where I can find cute boy clothes. Ready to shop!
@lap262016 my favourite place for cute boy clothes is Next (you can order online). It's a British store, but they ship to the US. Such adorable clothes..
@KLake42 I have a feeling too!! I didn't have a feeling it was twins for a while but as my belly started growing and growing and getting more harder than usual, bingo. I had a dream last night they were girls Best of luck for your family!
It seems like nobody is waiting for the ultrasound to find out the sex. I am, but I'm super jealous of everyone finding out so early! I'll be 12 weeks tomorrow but I have to wait until 20 weeks. It's gonna be so hard! Congrats to everyone who found out already!!
@steph30032 we're finding out at 20 weeks as well. My doctor told me today I could go to a third part at 16 weeks but we probably won't because I'm cheap and it'll just be another 4 weeks at that point so not worth it in my mind.
@gusgus14@steph30032 we are waiting too. We talked about going to a third party but decided we wanted to wait in fear of getting it wrong because of impatience lol
Our NIPT results came back negative for chromosomal abnormalities. We have to wait one more week for CVS to confirm. But I'm vey hopeful results will be the same.
And we are team boy. My 2 oldest are girls. They have a 1 yr old brother so our family of 6 will be 2 girls and 2 boys. I couldn't be happier
We are team green again but we are going to Disney when I'm 19 weeks and I'm slightly tempted to do a gender reveal there but I doubt we will...but it's soo dang tempting
We had the NIPT and found out we are low risk for any type of chromosomal abnormalities which I'm incredibly grateful for. Also found out, to my total disbelief, that we are team blue! I could have sworn it was a girl based on this pregnancy being exactly like my daughter's.... I'm still surprised! Very excited and grateful to welcome this little boy!
We had our NT scan Friday and the tech felt certain we are having a baby girl!!! We are all ecstatic!! DS has said from the beginning that he wanted a sister and has been calling this baby Anna Grace (which are not planning on naming her, lol).

@cyanope Thank you! It's starting to seem more real now that we know something about him. Now that we know it's a boy, we know what his name will be. But I don't think I'm going to relax enough to believe we're bringing a baby home until the results of the CHARGE test come back. PGAL is weird!
@cyanope@schaze Thank you! The results of the microarray will be here in 1 to 2 weeks. The CHARGE test comes back in about four weeks. So much waiting and hoping. There is a 1 to 3% chance we might have more children with CHARGE (if it happened again, it would be due to germline mosaicism). That sounds like pretty good odds, until you realize the chance for most people is one in 10,000. Still, we're hopeful!
My genetics results came in today and its a GIRL!! I'm happy because I wanted this to be a girl for my a15 daughter to have a friend . weird but I always wanted a sister so ill live through her
Has anyone had experience with the QNatal test? I finally had my first appointment today and she recommended that test. I might be interested in the test if it doesn't cost a lot.
NIPT results came back and did our NT yesterday. We are looking good! We also found out that we are having a GIRL! We spent all night talking about tea parties and painting little piggies. Let the planning begin!
We found out yesterday morning, and it's a girl -- we think! We are only 14 weeks and our regular doctor won't confirm until 20 but my sister is planning a shower back home in KY (we live in CA) for Labor Day so she wanted to know sooner for planning purposes. She's crazy. I was hesitant but the tech was very confident and even got a picture from below the baby (it was standing on it's head, like last time) so it was the bottom and the little legs and pretty clear there was nothing there that would imply we have a boy on our hands. I am VERY excited but I think just because it is so early I won't feel 100% confident until our 20 week appointment but it's fun to know in the meantime so we can keep narrowing down names!
TEAM PINK! We cannot wait to meet Genevieve Elise. ❤
We were going to have to wait until the anatomy scan next month because of Military health insurance (we were not eligible for the genetic screens). DH was assigned to a training event and would miss the scan entirely so I searched for a local private location and found one owned by a former full time sonographer who had worked in our area hospital! She was amazing and DH was so surprised! Better still, my parents were visiting from out of state and got to see the little one who is named in honor of my Dad's Mother.
@myorke24 isn't tricare so much fun?!?! Still awaiting my anatomy scan because I just can't justify spending money out of pocket for an early scan, which I can't do here until 16 weeks anyway. Plus DH will be around for he anatomy scan and they are trying to get me in early because we are moving right around 20 weeks. Ugh.

Brothers are the BEST!
Baby is a . . . . GIRL!!!!
I think we are going to tell our sons today that they are going to have a baby sister. I can't wait.
