Any thoughts about this cycle? The B6 and B complex I've been taking to regulate my cycle has been working...this time I ovulated 3 or 4 days earlier than the last cycle at around CD 19. *TW* Our first pregnancy happened on the first try, with one time of DTD 5 days before ovulation. I didn't even know that was possible and I know that we were incredibly lucky. This waiting game is new to me and brings up a lot of doubts and concerns in my head. I know it's still early though so I'm just trying not to let things concern me. *End TW*
Any questions? *TW* I still have to do a search for this on the board, but I'm still breastfeeding my DD at night (she's a terrible sleeper and still wakes a lot) and I can't help but feel that's negatively affecting our attempts. It took 2 years for my period to finally return PP, maybe my body is still feeling like it's not ready yet. Anyone with similar experiences? *End TW*
GTKY: leashes for toddlers: no freaking way or hell yes my kid is a runner? My child sticks to me like glue so I don't think I'd need one but I wouldn't be opposed to one of those backpack leashes in a huge crowd...like on vacation at Disney or something. Better safe than sorry
@becausescience love those drool pads! Fellow babywearer here. Unfortunately the 2 year old doesn't go up anymore, so all my pretties are stuck in the closet for now.
@becausescience re first foods, my son loved and still loves sweet potato. I just dice it up and microwave for like 5 min. Makes them soft and mushy. No worry of choking. Then he will eat them cold from the fridge. Gross and tasteless but he likes it and it's super easy.
@kbamomma33 I'm going to have to steal the squishing method for blueberries. I try to cut those tiny suckers in half and it's so annoying!
@cards10 Good idea about the sweet potatoes! I've never done that, but I'll have to try. I'm always trying to rotate new foods into our regular meals. Keeping it creative with toddler meals is a challenge sometimes!
@isntthatspeshul Hi! FYI, you don't need to TW here for mention of pregnancy and children, BFing, etc. There is a general warning at the top of this thread for lurkers and it's understood that those topics will be discussed here since we are all TFAS. Though, I would TW those topics outside of this thread if you absolutely have to mention them elsewhere. Welcome!
@becausescience -- my husband was a little TOO good at making lactation cookies while I was BFing and I gained a lot of weight. I used it as an excuse too. But honestly it never made me lose weight. My body grew in places it never grew before and I am just super uncomfortable. I saw pics of me from yesterday and I was like "yea... no....this has to stop!!!" Today kind of sucked but I will just have to keep moving forward and looking at those pics for motivation. If you need support to start... I am here for you. And with keto you don't have to county calories really. Just low carb and high fat!
Lactation cookies were a big problem for me too. Thanks mom!
@kbamomma33 thank you for clarifying. I thought that might be the case but figured I'd be over cautious in my first few posts. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
@cards10 Thanks for the sweet potato tip - DD likes the sweet potato purees so I could see that going well.
I picked up some clementines and blueberries today. Hopefully she likes them!
And @garnetandgoldgrace I got my workout in today. I did a BodyPump on demand - but the shorter version. My legs are going to be sore tomorrow and I was using like the lowest weight possible. I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

Any thoughts about this cycle? I don't feel any differently than I do every other month so I'm not that hopeful. I keep reminding myself I didn't feel different when I was pregnant with DD until I was more than 6 weeks pregnant. It was our second IUI this month and the Clomid has been giving me a lot of anxiety so I'm just kind of over it.
Any questions? nope
GTKY: leashes for toddlers: no freaking way or hell yes my kid is a runner? Definitely not for me. If my kid isn't holding my hand then she's in a stroller.

I used to think they were so dumb. Then I had a walking (running) toddler and thought "Ohh NOW I get it." My daughter is pretty good about holding my hand and I have a tight grip so I've never felt like we needed one but I wouldn't be opposed if any future child is more rambunctious!
Hi guys! New to the board. I thought I would jump right in. I didn't see a newbie thread for this coming week but given that I have a LO already.... here I am! I'm Shannon, 28 y/o mama from Oregon. I was part of the July 2016 board but my son Elliott was born early (June 12, terrible induction due to Pre-E). He's a trick baby for sure, so we're ready for another and fully prepared to be screwed this time around!
What number are you trying for? 2
Cycle/Month? 1, just got my Mirena pulled last month.
WTO/TWW? WTO (period started today)
Ages of other child(ren)? DS, just over one year old
Any thoughts about this cycle? Glad to see things look like clockwork as far as normal period. That's all I can really say for now.
Any questions? Conceiving my son took ~8 cycles and two rounds of letrozole (femara). Will having had a successful pregnancy make me more fertile this time around...?
GTKY: leashes for toddlers: Nope. But as a special education teacher, gone are the days of judging stressed out moms for child wrangling.
@mileswithmyles Oh man, I always love to see other SPED teachers. I am moving from a well staffed, small K-5 self-contained to a resource room with a 40 kid caseload, I am getting nervous to say the least! What's your gig?
@theshannondee That's a big change! I taught special day class English and a social skills class for seven years at a high school, primarily for students with Apserger's. The last three years I have been a full release mentor for new special education teachers. I will work at this position for two more years and then head back to the classroom.
We are also heading to Oregon next week for vacation! We are spending some time on the coast and some time in Portland.
Hey @theshannondee we have a lot in common! Both in our first month of trying for a second, background in education (I've taught preschool-Kindergarten, now I'm a SAHM) and we are both Shannons. And if our first had been a boy, Elliott was one of our top 3 names! Welcome!
@theshannondee@mileswithmyles My MIL is a special ed teacher and my mom was an OT with the school district for years (now retired). I have so much respect for what you guys do!

@theshannondee welcome! There's no guarantee that having a pregnancy will make you more fertile but I hope that's the case for you. I got pregnant very quickly with my first, had a normal pregnancy, and now am on month 19 and doing fertility treatments to try and have a second so everyone is different. I hope things are easier for you this time around!

@theshannondee welcome! Hopefully you'll have the same experience TTC #2 as you did before, but like @shortstack930 said, there's no guarantee. I got pregnant our first month of trying with DS, then it took about 9 months of TTC for DD, and I'm on cycle 8 TTC right now. There's no rhyme or reason to it, unfortunately
On a totally different note: I am GIDDY for Amazon prime day tomorrow. Like, irrationally so. I've got my eye on a convertible car seat for DD and I would be soooooo happy if it went on sale.
Also: I can't believe my life revolves around car seats going on sale

Oooo which one do you have your eye on? We will be in the market for one very soon. DD is getting heavy to lug around in her infant seat.

@becausescience - the Diono Radian. They just about never go on sale, but a girl can hope! It's what we use for DS and they're amazing. We used to have one of those gigantic forever-type convertibles and then switched to a Diono. They are so. much. better.
@LazyCrane Holy shit, Dionos were on sale last year? This makes me so excited!
They sold out in moments but they were there you'll have to keep a close eye on the previews so you know when to be available. I just messaged a couple people I know who got one to see if they remember the price.
@kmalls I'll keep an eye out for both of those things and tag you if I see them. My other board has a prime day thread where we watch deals for each other, so I'll mention them there too in case I miss it.
Ahhhhh good call! Somehow my other group hasn't started a Prime Day thread yet. I gotta do that!
@LazyCrane hmmm there's a few available via Amazon Warehouse for about that same deal (just with a slightly damaged box). I may jump on that rather than stress myself out tomorrow
Ages of other child(ren)? DS turns 2 in August. What a fun age...
Any thoughts about this cycle? Hopes are not high. O'd earlier than anticipated after spending all week with family
Any questions?

I'm late to the thread. I noticed a couple of mamas asking about TTC while nursing. I'll try to add tags. Speaking from personal experience, I had to wean to get pregnant with my third. I got inconsistent results from home opks and finally Got pregnant after I weaned my then 14 month old.
*I know that everyone is different but nursing makes me infertile. I know this is not the case for everyone and some women are able to conceive but I was not.
Huggies snug and dry are 30% off plus 20% off for subscribe and save. And I think there is a $2 coupon too. Size 4 is still available. I didn't check other sizes.
@garnetandgoldgrace I just did my second workout this week! I'm so proud of myself. I think finding this Les MIlls on demand is going to work for me as Bodypump is a workout I actually enjoy doing. My quads are pretty sore, but they've been worse so I decided to work through it today. I feel great! Thanks for checking up on me.
