Re: Newbie Intro Thread- Week of July 10th
How many months have you been TTC? Seven, I had my Nexplanon removed in January of this year.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Prenatal vitamins and mostly NTNP, but I think I'm going to start temping. I was just really hoping I'd be "lucky" and not have to actually TRY to get pregnant. I'm a little annoyed that it's not as easy as they led us to believe in health class: "You will get pregnant and DIE." (Mean Girls, anyone?)
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I'm a mental health therapist in private practice, my hubs does maintenance work. We have one adorable dog Peewee who is a chihuahua/jack Russell mix and he's our only child. We enjoy having people over to our house (which is currently a nightmare because we are remodeling and living with my in laws), going to ATV parks and binge-watching Netflix.
I have to admit I'm pretty overwhelmed with the wealth of information on fertility that I've seen here while lurking the past week or so. I really had NO idea how complicated getting pregnant truly is, and that's even if you don't experience problems with fertility. I'm trying to browse more and learn all I can, and I downloaded FF so I'm going to do the tutorials on that too. I will also say that I literally LOL'ed when I read about symptom spotting on here, because that's exactly what I've been doing to myself the past two months. Oh, I'm craving a cheeseburger? I MUST be pregnant. I can smell better today? I'm feel nauseated? I have to pee a lot? I'm definitely pregnant! Too bad so sad haha. Looking forward to talking more with you peeps!

Also, my husband and I lived with my parents while our house was being renovated. That shit is stressful. I hope your finish line is in sight!
How many months have you been TTC? We just decided last month that we would try for our second. So really just a month so far, but our first was unplanned, so I have no idea how long it will take?!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I started charting my periods and monitoring cervical mucus...calendaring for now. I should prob start taking prenatals? Honestly, the hardest part is going to be actually timing sex. With a 17 month old along with our current schedules (both working full time days, he coaches footballs in evening, we're renovating a home ourselves and moving) sex just happens when it happens and rather infrequently.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I am a full time working mom of a 17 month old boy. We have 2 dogs that were our first babies I work in child development, love cooking and gardening and am really hoping that this journey of expanding our family is an easy transition. We unexpectedly got pregnant the first time and it has turned out to be the most amazing experience for us both. Cannot wait for our son to have a sibling and for us to be able to grow out family!
How many months have you been TTC. Month one! Some days I tell myself we're ntnp so I don't turn into a crazy person and make Google my part time hobby.
WAYDTGKU
badgering my husband...he can usually see right through me
A little about me:I am a stay-at-home mom to three kids. My oldest starts kindergarten next month and I'm oscillating between euphoria and panic. We have a cat with the personality of a dog. My family and I live in Texas and we love it. Looking forward to bumping with you ladies hope we all have a short stay. Edit because bump ate half of my post.
2nd edit words are hard and I can't spell
Ages (you and SO):
I am 28 and MH is 33.
How many months have you been TTC?
NTNP from August 2014 - TTC December 2014 so roughly about 23 months according to my RE
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Just waiting for AF right now. Starting the first medicated IUI cycle then.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
We have three children total, two are my DSD (12) and DSS (10) and then our DD (2). I am an accountant and my husband does maintenance work and we stay pretty busy as MH has a huge family that always has some event or another going on. I am starting school again soon so I am pretty pumped about that and I am hoping that my cycle starts again soon so we can start the IUI process I'm also looking forward to getting to know everyone as I have been lurking this board for an embarrassingly amount of time now!
Ages: 35 for me and 37 for husband
How many months TTC: This is my third cycle since stopping breastfeeding. Baby turned 1 in June. Been trying since she was 6 months old but had to completely wean to get cycles back.
WAYDTGKU: Sex. All the sex. Monitored cm. Prenatal vitamins. Im pretty sure based on my keen observations that I ovulated pretty early this month. Cycles have been a bit wonky since starting back up. We will see.
About me: I have two mini Australian shephards who think we are traitors for bringing a child in to the house. I suspect mutiny when we try to bring more home. The small chubby one (she is supposed to be a toy. She has a bit of a weight issue though) keeps giving me the evil eye as though she knows my current plans.
Age: 25 for me, 34 for DF
TTC: 6 months including our loss in May
WAYDTGKU: I'm benched until next cycle but I'm taking my prenatals + extra folic acid and iron and using this time to focus on my health. I started doing yoga again and eating better. I hope to lose some weight before we get pregnant again. I gained almost 5 lbs the past 2 months from the stress of our loss and complications.
About me: I work PT as an advocate for victims of domestic violence Sat/Sun but I'm a SAHM during the week to our 2yo DS. We are animal lovers and have a black lab, two cats and a b&g macaw. I don't have much time for hobbies unless Netflix and mediocre yoga count.
Ages (you and SO): 35 and DW 31
How many months have you been TTC? 12 months with 7 IUI cycles
What are you doing to get knocked up: clomid days 4-8, HCG trigger 36 hrs before IUI, lots of vitamins and supplements, acupuncture, meditation, the works!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I am a Montessori Teacher for 2 1/2 - 6 yr olds. My wife works in Marketing for a popular craft beer company. We have an Australian Shepherd named Sky, who is the goofiest, sweetest fur baby. I like to ride my bike, lay by the pool, go to the climbing gym, and read super nerdy fantasy series. The past year TTGP has been stressful to say the least, but we are still hopeful! I am currently in my 7th 2ww and trying hard not to obsess over every twinge. Looking forward to having a group of ladies to commiserate/ celebrate with!

@becausescience Yes, I get annoyed by that too, but at the same time, have really enjoyed the tv series. I think someone has bought the rights to WOT to create some sort of on-screen adventure, so you might want to get on with reading that one before it gets cool, too!
@becausescience I hear you on the annoyance when an unknown becomes trendy. I need this t-shirt to reflect my hipster-ness.
@repratt1 @darkstar42 I was thinking the same thing about free beer!
How many months have you been TTC? Just started this cycle!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Prenatal and I have been monitoring cm, temp and charting for a few months. I've gotten pretty familiar with my cycle so hoping that helps. I kinda wish I was more laid back and could go with NTNP, but I know myself too well haha
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
I'm a Librarian and my husband is an engineer. We've been married for almost seven years and have really enjoyed that time together. We both have not felt a huge desire to TTC so the decision hasn't been an easy one for us. Trust me, we've talked about this so much over the last few years. We want kids, but not sure we'll ever feel the strong desire for them so we're just going for it. We had thought about TTC a few months ago but my husband has had to do some longer (5 weeks, 3 weeks) trips overseas for work so we put things on hold. Other than that we have a Basset Hound and two cats, love to travel etc...
How many months have you been TTC? We just decided to start trying next month
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I'll start temping and tracking CM when my next cycle starts.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have one daughter who just turned 5. I temped when we were trying for her, and that worked out well for us, so I'm hoping it'll go decently again this time. I have more cats than I am willing to admit. I work in tech, he works in the firearm industry. I enjoy programming, cooking, rock climbing, and weight lifting.
How many months have you been TTC?: This month will have been the first month of actively trying but we have been off any kind of birth prevention methods for about 6 months.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? : having sex. Haha, I've been charting cycles since I was in my late teens so we are going by when my app says I ovulate and I worked for baby #1!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): I have one daughter named Scout, a cat named Cecil, I stay at home with my daughter and my husband works in law enforcement, I love painting, sewing, makeup, IPAs, reading, crocheting, and karaoke.
@kmalls I’m slowly dyyyyying. Luckily, we SHOULD be moving into our new place next weekend, if not the following at the absolute latest. If not, I’m taking a sleeping bag and going to start sleeping on the floor over there.
@malaki1418 Good luck with the timing! That sounds super stressful.
@darkstar42 I definitely spent way too much time being paranoid about pregnancy when I was younger. Boooooooo.
@cm716 Happy birthday! I vote for dirty thirty I’m definitely turning into the crazy googling person…
@lumosnox1 Good luck with the IUI process! What are you going to school for?
@jrm_14 Right?!? I was even privy to that urban legend where a girl was on birth control but got pregnant and the baby came out holding the birth control pill
@June2016BabyW I LOL’d about your dogs. I’m certain mine behave the exact same way if/when we bring a child into the home haha.
@acunamatada So sorry to hear about your loss. Good luck with starting the next cycle.
@repratt1 FREE BEER WHAT?! Let’s be friends
I introduced myself a while back but never ended up participating because our timeline got moved back. I am back since this is finally happening
Ages (you and SO): I am 35 & DH is 34 until next month
How many months have you been TTC? None yet.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? PVN, BBT
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) I am an elementary school teacher and DH does accounting. I have 3 boys. I am a huge Harry Potter fan. I am currently in grad school. I have 2 dogs and a cat. I have been lurking for a while and read the newbie post. I am looking forward to getting to know you all
@wisewitch222 - Thank you What did you get your masters in?
@looeeze - lol sounds good to me!
@looeeze A HP-themed GTKY thread sounds good to me!
(TW--How old are your boys?)
we're going for baby number four too!
Also I fully support anything harry potter!
I had to bust in here with all this Harry Potter talk (we DEFINITELY need a Harry Potter GTKY). I LOVED the Cursed Child. I think the story really stands on its own outside of the HP universe. However, you have to take into consideration that it is a play. If you don't like reading plays, you may not enjoy it. That seemed to be the dividing line among my friends. My theatre friends loved it, everyone else not so much. I would love to hear your thoughts, @darkstar42!
