Hi everyone, just wanted to update that I've been having more bleeding, severe cramping and passing lots of clots so I'm fairly certain I am miscarrying. Before I leave this board I just wanted to ask anyone that has been through this before - how long does it usually last and what can I do for the pain? Painkillers don't seem to be doing anything and it's too hot for a hot water bottle :-( don't really know what to do with myself. I wanna have a very large vodka - I mean surely that should be ok now, there's not likely to be any chance of this ending well at this point?
Also wanna say thanks to all for everyone's support and kind words. This was my first pregnancy and had been struggling to conceive so I'm pretty devestated.
@mrsp85 very sorry for your loss. I naturally MC at 8 weeks this last April. I started bleeding on Friday and then Sunday I was full MC severe cramps.complete agony..but then I experienced a "gush" once the gush happened the worst was behind me. Monday I felt fine with regular period symptoms. I don't know if that's the norm...but that's how it was for me. Good luck.
Thanks @Chawk17 - haven't had a gush yet, I feel it's all building up to that though so hoping it happens soon and this feeling eases. It's been getting progressively worse since yesterday so I'm hoping it peaks soon and I'll start to feel better x
@mrsp85 i took 4 ibuprophen for pain every 5 hrs (per ok by ob). All 5 were like @chawk17 said. I stayed home, kept lights off used heating pad/ice packs and watched movies. Dh was there and would rub my feet or back etc. I felt some relief sitting on the toilet at times and letting it all pass out more quickly that way.
@mrsp85 - I'm so sorry you are experiencing this. I had a MC at 8 weeks 4 years ago and from what I remember it was spotting for days prior to what @Chawlk described as a big clump/ gush. I don't really remember the cramping but would recommend touching base with your provider to see what they recommend for comfort. Thinking of you and sending hugs your way.
@mrsp85 I'm so sorry, I've had 4 and 2 of them went the way you're experiencing. I found that a hot shower helped a lot, especially if you can sit and let the water run on your belly or back. It seems to help the process move a little faster too. Same as above posters, the really painful part ended once the main tissue was passed, after that there was still some light cramping and clots but no where near the pain at the beginning. Mine went pretty quick personally, both times within a half hour the worst was over, but I know it can take a little while for some. If the pain is really bad and Ibuprofen won't touch it I would check in with your OB and see if they have any ideas to help. Mine usually had me go in for a follow up to make sure no tissue was left behind as that can be dangerous. Lots of hugs, take care and know lots of us are thinking of and praying for you!

@mrsp85 I am so sorry you are going through this. There is lots of good advice here, warm shower, ibuprofen, lots of rest, and follow up with your doctor. My doctor reiterated the importance of taking the ibuprofen like clockwork until the tissue passes. I hope you get some relief soon. Take care of yourself. Sending you hugs.
@mrsp85 im so, so sorry to hear that you are going through this. my experience was similar to those above. It started slowly over a few days and then the worst of it lasted a few hours one evening. The pain was intense and cramping was very bad, but after the gush the pain decreased significantly. Take ibuprofen if needed and sometimes walking (pacing) helps move things along. Also, i had some pain from gas and cramping in the days following- simethicone (gasX) helped with that. Im not certain if its a common symptom, but if you find yourself with indigestion and cramping, make sure someone picks up simethicone at the drug store for you. Keeping you in my thoughts
I'm 8w2d today and my MS is mysteriously almost non existent today. Ironically enough, my Dr. had me draw labs today just for a check up (IF). I know some of you have had MS come and go, I guess just looking for a little reassurance. I'm also thinking that since it's the weekend and I'm staying on top of eating in addition to my diclegis maybe it's just better all around? A little worried, but trying not to over think anything!
@mamajenna_cnm my ms went away for a few days during week 8! I just about spent 4 days panicking and I was very very nervous. I saw a heartbeat at 8w4d and the ms is back now in week 9+. symptoms do come and go, but if you are worried please talk w your doctor because every pregnancy is different.
I called in to my doctors office for nausea medication. My nausea was 24/7. I thought I had to wait for my first appointment, which is on Monday, but no. They called the script in right away. Diclegis is a life saver. it makes me really tired and a bit jittery, but its worth the trade off.
Uhg so my morning/all day sickness was manageable tbis week so DH decided to make stakes. I fwlt horri le because just the smell turned my stomach and made me gag
@mrsp85 i had a MC in Sept last year at about 7w. I did what PP said, Advil and heating pad, wouldn't blame you at all for going ahead with that vodka. I passed clots for like 2 days before the bleeding started and had 2 big "gushes" first one on a Thurs, then lite bleeding til next gush 3 days later, both times I could feel it coming and went to the toilet. Then spotting for days and days and days. It sucks im so sorry.
@asly02 my gas is pretty bad, but I had reg gas pain before getting preg. Usually happens when I am super hungry and eat too fast. I take 1 or 2 simethicone or drink maaloxx, which has antacid plus simethicone.
I'm 8w today and have been queasy or dizzy at random times but not really nauseous. My stomach seems to churn and churn after I eat - anyone else? Also, lots of ppl talking about constipation but I'm having the opposite!
Also im real tired and I wake up around 2am every night and am up for an hour wtf
Wake up in the morning and it's coming out of both ends. My normally clear skin is all effed up. I've gained 5 lbs in a month cause I'm snacking constantly to keep the nausea at a minimum. And I have awful, triggering dreams about the baby at night. The first trimester is not my favorite.
Anyone else the gassiest they've ever been? It's the leading source of most of my pain these days. What are you using today combat your gas?
Yup. Its especially bad at night. I feel like a balloon is being pumped up in my body and every time i move air gets released. So im either always uncomfortable or burpy/farty. It suuuuucks. I know fried food triggers it, but so does being hungry, so trying to find the best balance there. Can we take gas x? Anyone know? Lol ill call the doc on mon.
Yes you can take gasx ! Alleluia! Husband is a clinical pharmacist and he assures me it is safe. Also checked w the doc and he agreed. Follow the instructions on the box- no more than 2 pills daily I think. Basically I take one most evenings around dinner and it helps a lot
I've started spotting brown, this never happened last time, so I'm really scared even though I know it can be normal. I'm 7 weeks.
I've been brown spotting for weeks, it's fine. There's a lot going on in your ute right now, some blood is bound to escape. Unless it turns red there's no need to worry.
