Mine is July 18th Which is hubby's birthday @GraysonsMama I would certainly keep trying to encourage hubby to join you, sorry you are struggling right now *creepy internet hug*
@GraysonsMama sorry you're having a tough time. I told my husband this was one of the few non-negotiable visits he had to be at. First u/s, NT test, 20-week u/s. All others are optional and not required. If something were to go bad, I'd want him there.

Mine is July 18. I'll be 19 +3. Question for everyone...did they tell you to come with a full bladder? For my first baby they told me I had to have a full bladder and omg it was terrible. This time I'm at a different hospital and I asked if I have to drink liquids before and he said no like I was asking a crazy question lol.
@rebeccad17, at the old office I was always told to have a full bladder, but the new office has better equipment I guess and she said it wasn't necessary.
They checked both babies at my last MFM appt (16+3) for tummy organs, head size, 10 fingers, 10 toes, gender, some brain stuff. At my next MFM appt, July 20, they'll do a bit more in depth look at their hearts and possibly an echo. No one has called any of my US an Anatomy Scan, so I'm not sure what part makes it AS specific.
@rebeccad7 the recommendation to have a full bladder or not varies from office to office (and sometimes even one nurse/tech/doctor within an office will tell you one thing and another will tell you something else). If they told you it doesn't need to be full, go with that!

My ob just told me on Friday that in addition to the abdominal anatomy scans, they're starting do transvaginal as standard of care to measure cervical length as well. On the one hand I'm glad, because the cervical incompetency thing had me wondering how exactly they know it might be an issue before you get to serious symptoms. On the other - I thought I was done with Wanda!

I'm not scheduled yet for my 20w... I do have an appointment for 18w2d but for a basic check up. So I'm assuming they'll bring me back in for my 20w scan in about 2 weeks or so. I"m really hoping the doctor will at least do a doppler check for some reassurance that's he's ok! I do have a fetal echo-cardiogram scheduled for 8/15 because of IVF with icsi (I guess there is a small chance there could be a heart issue).

Mine is a level 2 ultrasound with the MFM on July 11 and I'll be 18w1d. They do it closer to 18w for their patients to give more time to make decisions if there are problems discovered. I am so looking forward to making it over this hurdle.

I got to my anatomy scan with a full bladder with my first and they made me go to the bathroom and empty! I was so uncomfortable and you could see a jet stream filling my bladder more and more. The tech gave me permission to never follow the rules again! It was actually obstructing the view!
all of you ladies that don't have appointments scheduled beyond the next one...just curious - is it the OB's policy to only schedule one at a time? or personal preference?
because this type A has been scheduled out through 40 weeks. bam.

@anewadventure My OB's office lets us schedule up to four at a time, I think, but DH and I have been unprepared (i.e. not checking to see which days we can't schedule appointments due to coverage at work) so we just schedule one at a time (and then hope the day we scheduled works). Now that both of our employers know, I want to check schedules ahead of time and get the appointments scheduled in advance!
But my A/S is with MFM in a different hospital than my OB is in so that was unrelated.
@anewadventure They haven't given me the option to schedule more than one. At my last OB, we scheduled a bunch in advance, so this one at a time business annoys me!

My anatomy scan is scheduled for August 9 (I'll be 20 + 6 weeks). I wish it was scheduled closer to 18 or 19 weeks (for my own piece of mind), but my appt. is at the MFM, and I wasn't given a choice. On a side note, I have an elective U/S this Saturday to (fingers crossed!) find out the sex. So excited!
I'm scheduled for Friday, July 21st. I have to schedule with radiology and they just send to my doctor which is good but is a little different than before. My husband is now worried our boy will become a girl and is nervous to go... Hahaha
Are your anatomy scans being covered by insurance, ladies? Asking cuz I just got an almost $600 bill for my NT scan (after insurance) and I'm worried about what the Anatomy Scan is going to cost me. I need to call and check but I'm just curious if you know?

@moonlady-2 I was under the impression that the NT scan is optional if you are low-risk and therefore may not be covered if you choose to have it done. (If you are high-risk or AMA it would be more likely to be covered.) The anatomy scan is something everyone gets, so you should be good there-- don't be afraid to call the billing folks at your OB office and ask, it's their job to know what your insurance may do.
@moonlady-2 Do you have a health fund insurance or ppo? I have a health fund & I had to pay 100% of all my ultrasounds & lab work (and with twins I've had 8 so far) until I hit my deductible. I just hit it, so now all my ultrasounds will be covered 80% until I hit my out of pocket maximum. The only part of my prenatal care that has been 100% covered is the actual office visit charges.
Might be worth it to speak with your insurance company to fully understand benefits and expected out of pocket costs (especially for labor&delivery or NICU if that becomes a reality).
FINALLY have a date in the books! July 24th @ 2 pm. I could have done it on the 18th, but DH couldn't have made it. ugh. I told my girlfriends that, and they said just text him after 18 days to go, but whose counting?!
I found out last week that I won't be 20+2 on August 3rd (my scheduled anatomy scan), but 21+2. That's too long a wait! So now we've scheduled an extra ultrasound Saturday next week (July 15th), I'll be 18+4 then, so hopefully we'll find out then!
Mine is booked for 8th August. I'll be 20 weeks exactly. Cant wait as I can finally find out the sex aswel as getting baby checked out. Hubby can't come as he will have to watch our DS as it's at 8am and can't get anyone to have him for us that early. We thought it would be a nice idea to get them to write down the sex and put in an envelope and hubby and I can open and find out together when I get home.
I don't know if this will be true for anyone else but I'm pretty tender after my anatomy scan from this morning. The tech had to do a fair bit of pushing/coaxing to get the uncooperative kiddo into position for some of the images they needed and I'm feeling a little achey around the mid-section this evening. I was not expecting it, so I thought I'd share. It's totally manageable but was a surprise to me as a FTM.
@kyrwyn yes! When pregnant with yhe first, our tech was very aggressive with the wand (also trying to use it to poke baby so she would shift positions). It hurt and I was sore for a couple days after. But the images were great! Definitely something to be aware of, that abdominal ultrasounds can be uncomfortable. I wasn't expecting it

I am scheduled for July 10... there seems to be some back and forth with my due date, I will either be 19 weeks and change or 20 weeks and change. Hopefully we can settle on one afterward. My DH went to nearly every one of my doctor's appointments last pregnancy, including when I had to see a specialist so we were going 2x a week! This time, he hasn't been able to make it to any due to work so I had a voluntary ultrasound a few weeks ago to determine sex and we were able to find out as a family.
I'm also not scheduled yet. I have an appointment Wednesday and we'll schedule then. Hopefully he'll do it right at 20 weeks (July 28, as DD's bday). Our school starts August 1 and I don't Want to take off of work when it's just starting.
