*lurking* and TW @joneser1281 I had fluid in my uterus at a monitoring appointment right before my FET, my dr didn't know why it was there but said it would probably resolve itself. I went back a few days later and boom, it was gone. We proceeded with my FET and I'm currenlty 6w pregnant. keep the faith! I hope the fluid resolves itelf. I would definitely ask for another ultrasound before fet to be sure it's gone.

@cashewchicken That's nice they have services that come to your house for injections. That'd be a good business to get into if they charge $125 per day! I have 4 vials (I think 3 weeks worth of shots), so that'd be pretty pricey. I only have to do the injections by myself two morning, so I'll just suck it up and do it myself.
@joneser1218 thanks for that PIO injection link! I hope that fluid pocket isn't a concern. During my ER cycle my ultrasound tech kept saying I have fluid in one of my tubes, and that she didn't know if it'd cause trouble with the transfer or not. So far my RE hasn't mentioned it, so I'm hoping that means he doesn't think anything of it.
@knottie3527477 I've read a lot about the PIO injections and that's what a lot of people say, some days they hurt and others they don't. I have some Lidocaine cream that I'm going to ask my RE if I can use to numb the area prior to the injections.
@adaoga0616 Great that you got a good lining report. It's always nice to get a good report. A massage sounds like an excellent idea to help relax.
AFM, AF came yesterday so I start my Estradiol patches on Saturday and Estradiol injections on Sunday. First monitoring appointment is 7/11, which needs to hurry up and get here!
@joneser1281 yes we have had a fluid filled sack before. It is the reason I didn't do a fresh transfer we decided to let it go away. Mine went away at my check up that was scheduled like 2 weeks later. I don't know what helped but I did try the whole having an orgasm recommendation. I do not know what helped but it wasn't there after two weeks. Don't know when exactly it went away.
I do hope it does go away by your next appointment. Sending prayers your way.
Yes, I have estradiol shots every three days in the month prior to the FET. It's not a lot, but the needled is LONG! It is better to just glide it in. It is thick, so it takes a while to push in. I also think that the estradiol and dexamethasone (and maybe Lupron?) are making me HUNGRY! Anyone else?? I can't seem to eat enough -- and I see the scale creeping up.....Oh well, I'm just going to give my body what it wants right now. I'm also not sleeping so well -- anyone else?? I think I'm just thinking of this all too much. I need to get some other hobbies, other than pathologically researching IVF-related issues.....what a bore I've become!
And yes, I have a few friends who had successful FETs that advised me to imbibe all the way up to transfer (as they did), since you won't be able to do it for at least 9 months! Unfortunately, I just started a serious blood thinner (Lovenex), so my DH doesn't think it is a good idea to mix the two (can cause stomach bleeding), so I'm probably going to abstain. Perfect timing too --- right before the 4th of July holiday;-( Is anyone doing anything fun?? My FET is the week after (July 10, tentatively), so we are staying local. I was supposed to be in Montana with my high school besties and their families at a ranch, but had to miss it. Booooooo.
Me: 41; DH: 45 Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries (2/17) ER: #1: agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) (4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal! FET on 7/10/17 Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:( (8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable) Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.
@LadyBee17 Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. Wow, I can't believe you transferred 2 normals with such good grades and still had disappointment. That doesn't make me feel quite so bad in terms of not knowing if any of ours are normal. That just goes to show there is absolutely nothing we can do to be certain. I don't blame you for wanting to lose your mind!
You have my sympathies with the killer cramps. I can understand how your BCP mishap could occur. Even though you may have intentionally started taking them before you were supposed to, I find the spotting/bleeding confusing myself. I was convinced a few weeks ago (about 3 weeks after my Lupron Depot shot) that AF had arrived. I even told my clinic I figured we'd missed the window bc the Lupron should have held off AF. But she told me that was just some breakthrough bleeding from the Lupron. I said but I need to wear a tampon? How is this not AF? She said it's not and that wearing a tampon was fine. It only lasted a couple of days, but boy was I confused! And you are right... I need to just trust what the clinic tells me. I should view this as a positive thing that they caught it and even though waiting longer to proceed is agonizing, I do want conditions to be optimal. Lol yes, some form of technology has to get us PG sooner or later right?!
@brooklyngirl18 Congrats to you girlie! I've been doing some lurking myself and was excitedly following your betas! Thanks so much for sharing your fluid issue... I can only hope to have the same luck as you!
@MMD1986 You're welcome on the PIO link. Though that chick makes it look so easy haha. I'm definitely a hot mess when trying to do it myself. I keep telling myself with some more practice that I'll become as calm cool and collected as she is haha. Thanks for sharing your fluid info as well. I would agree with you... If no one is mentioning much to you about it, it's probably nothing to concern yourself with.
@adaoga0616 Thank you for the good thoughts and for sharing your info with me. I'm glad your fluid went away... I only have 6 days before FET, so I'm hoping that's enough time for it to reabsorb. I have heard about the orgasm thing as a possible help! DH and I had relations (he always calls it that, which cracks me up!) on Saturday evening on a whim, but I don't know if the fluid was there before or after that... or both. Maybe we'll give it a try again... He'll be happy! Haha.
@Knottie3527477 I am with ya on the endless hunger! I was attributing it to the Lupron, but I only had one injection of it, more than a month ago. I'm still hungry on just the Estradiol, but maybe not quite as much. I think it's prob likely anything we inject ourselves with is making us starving! I LOLed at your comment about being a bore... I do the same thing with researching IVF stuff! I also slept like crap when I first started the Estradiol. It's getting a little better, so I don't know if I was just stressed out about it when I started, or my body is just getting used to it now. Hey, I have a wine night tonight... I'm taking bets on the over/under for how many drinks I'll have...
Alright so here's my update... After I last posted my little mental breakdown, I was totally mad at myself. I just get mad at myself for losing my shit sometimes and think I need to grow a set and mentally toughen up. There are people dealing with way worse issues than I am (I know that even some of you have more difficult issues than me on this thread alone). If I have to have my cycle cancelled and wait, it will suck... But oh well. I guess I'll deal with it. So then I did what any other woman would do... I blasted some old school jams (Nelly's Ride Wit Me, Flo Rida's Right Round, Ginuwine's Pony, etc.) and had a little dance party while dusting our bedroom... Everyone does that right?
Haha, so I did hear from my nurse. I was getting edgy because I saw my blood work and US results posted online, but didn't receive further instructions until quite some time after. She said everything looks appropriate, but some fluid was noted in my endometrial lining. We are still planning for the FET on 7/3, but they are going to do another US first that day before proceeding with the transfer. She said it was a very small amount (like 0.01ml I think?) so they are hoping it resolves itself, as it sometimes can just with taking the PIO injections. She said it was so minimal that they may not have even caught it had the US tech not taken that extra picture. So that's where I am at. Crossing my fingers and praying it goes away. I asked her what the options are if the fluid is still there on transfer day and she said they may aspirate the fluid, or cancel the cycle, but that it's a game day decision. Sigh!
So I begin PIO tomorrow and am trying to decide what time of day to take it? My original plan was about 6 PM each night because hopefully DH will be home from work by then (he works about an hour away but gets home at different times all the time due to his carpool, traffic, road construction, etc.) to help (he leaves at 6AM for work, so I didn't want to mess with it that early... I've been getting up at like 8 AM to take my Estradiol). But I keep thinking about how the demo girl makes the shot look so easy all the time and I have done it myself before (thought it's not always so easy), maybe I should just do it myself at 8 AM each day when I wake up? I just keep thinking about how doing it in the evening can be problematic when we have social plans or have to be out somewhere. Like this Saturday we have a wedding... We can either do it before we leave (around 3 PM) or take it and try to do it somewhere at the wedding at 6 PM (annoying). This is another one of those times where I feel I need to grow a set and just try to do it myself at the convenient morning time haha.

@Knottie9983816 You need to continue the Mentanx the whole pregnancy or at least get a methyl folate supplement. The embryo needs it the whole time.
@cashewchicken I'm also taking prednisone. It should help and I don't think it hurts. What mg are you on? I take the Neupogen as daily injections . I've also read about the wash. Who is your RE? Seems like he is up on immune stuff which is rare.
@joneser1281 I've had 1 loss without betas or anything just started bleeding about 2 weeks after BFP, 1 ruptured ectopic, and then 3-4 chemicals where betas didn't get over 1000. I also did a mini IVF cycle where the egg didn't fertilize.
Endo is highly linked to immune issues. It's actually an autoimmune disease. I'd look into it if I were you. Also fluid could be caused by adenomosis which is a type of Endo in the uterine wall.
AFM, my lining check was 10 and tri layer. Estrogen was 155 and progesterone was less than .2. Immune bloodwork tommorrow and then one last check on Friday and doxycycline and progesterone starts Saturday and transfer on next Thursday. My White Blood cell count is up to 42. Which is too be expected from the Neupogen but causing some bone pain. I'm really bruised ( dark red and purple the size of grapefruits all over my stomachs ) from the Lovenox injections
Guys I'm so sorry not to respond to you all but I'm having a bit of a freak out...I've been trying to not think or stress about this until my period comes which is why I've been more MIA lately, but AF is even more MIA still! I hate how these hormones screw with everything so long term and i have no way of knowing what to expect! I was "scheduled" to start yesterday based on a 31 day cycle, so i figured if anything I'd be early! I'm still probably ok to proceed with this calendar if it starts tomorrow, but I typically spot for at least a day before and that hasn't happened and I'm kinda freaking out and i know that a few days delay won't matter, but I'm afraid that I'll skip an entire period or be delayed enough that I'll have issues with my insurance and just kind of exploding in all directions and spiraling cause also my cousin is getting married in 2 1/2 weeks and I'm dealing with a million things on that front too. Someone please just tell me that everything will be ok and I'm not insane!!!
@nmtay you are not insane!! When we were starting our IVF stuff my period was literally 3 weeks late even with a week of progesterone to induce it. I hope it comes soon!! FX.
TTC 4 years. 7 failed IUI's with either Clomid, Femara and/or Trigger Shots. Started IVF journey in February 2017. Polyps removed in May. 1st IVF Transfer September 26th. BFP. Expected due date 6/14/18. Baby boy born 5/25/18 at 6 lb 9 oz. My bundle of joy.
joneser1281 i'm really hoing the estrace doesn't cause me more acne, hate that still at this age i get pimples wtf!!! I burn all the time too, aloe is my best friend in the summers...even though I really dont stay out in the sun much anymore. I think i'm over turning into a lobster.I have to say I was really surprised to read about ur friends that went through IF and then act like it never happened? No way! For me its this whole new world that yes I want to be successful out but its like you want to give back. I just feel its such a crazy process and people need to have more support out there! And yes I think that MTHFR is a real motherf'er as you just dont know IF it causes an issue for u. Still dont get why they dont run this test with the original genetic testing they do. That link is interesting, I would first need 15 minutes of streching out my arms to even try to do that! @cashewchicken at least your hubby means well, but sound like you got a good plan. I actually watched t and was confused like wait - how is she doing that until I tried it....and it wasn't cute. Sorry you've had such a roller coaster of a day but glad you're still at it...hoping everything will be perfect on transfer day for ur lil one! soon soon! hope wine night went well and you enjoyed!!
adaoga0616 glad things r moving smoothly and you're on track!
Welcome @LadyBee17 ! hoping 3rd time will be the charm for you as well!!! You transferred 2 normies at once or one, and they didn't take thats so upsetting for sure!! Did you're RE have any advice? Are you doing anything different this cycle? When I got my first BFP it was with a fresh transfer so FET land is new for me...its taken longer then I wanted to get back her to transfer so I'm super excited and NERVOUS about it! I believe we might be transfer buddies if I stay on point I should be around the 14 or 17.
MMD1986 Glad AF arrived sounds like we're all on our way!!
Ash_SE whoa i thought i bruised a lot - but that doesn't sound cute at all! glad thigs are progressing nicely for you! Funny i asked the pharmacist if I'm suppose to take mentanex through the pregnancy and he had no answer and told me to ask my RE, nice. So its for the whole time, I thought it was just the beginning - just started that one today.
@nmtay try and stay calm hopefully AF is just a couple days late. How r u feeling any symptoms? AF was early or on time this last 4 IVF cycles and yet this last one it was late and I had sore boobs for days so explain that to me. I'm sure me stressing out why it wasn't here didn't help BUT it did show.
@Knottie9983816 sorry u couldnt update ur name - i did try to find it for u the other day but with no success...surprised its so hidden or you just cant do it.
AFM: Yes AF finally came and I have to say I was like ok, I'm hoping to not see you in a good year after today please I have officially started! Waiting to here back from the nurses to get exact dates eeeekkkkk. I think they said it can be as soon as July 14...which still is a bit to go but soon enough too RE is not down with the immunology testing at all and gave me another RE to consult with...not thrilling as who really has the time for that? Rather she just send me to a lab Its so hard to have trust in this process! And you have to believe the dr knows best BUT do they! I'm the one they're experimenting with. UGH shouldve looked into this sooner as who knows how long the actual results could take and I certainly dont want to wait any longer in this already marathon process!!!! I have started estrace and my insurance doesn't cover PIO for me, so more OOP for me. Today I finally did something for me and actually got to feel like a kid again seeing New Kids On The Block perform. Its been forever since i've been to a concert...nkotb last year Yes my OH could not stop making fun of me, but it was still fun. Originally I was suppose to be preggers and not be able to go, but once I got over that I really did have a great time. Amazing how they all look and move! Great performers they are!!

@Hopeful_mom where are you located? Dr Kwak Kim in Chicago is an RI reproductive immunologist. That is also where my RE in DC sends my blood work to her lab. It can be mailed in.
Good Morning Ladies! Time for my daily novel
lol. I know you either enjoy reading my posts or you're rolling your eyes
thinking there she goes again. Either way, I appreciate the chance to
vent haha.
@Ash_SE You've been through a lot. Thanks for sharing. Of what I've
read on the subject, the evidence falls short for saying endometriosis is
autoimmune. It's actually not considered to be an autoimmune disease
itself, but having it can put you at a higher risk for autoimmune
diseases. Endo doesn't respond to any known treatments for
autoimmunity. Adenomyosis is not the same as endometriosis. I
believe they can occur together, but endo is when the lining of the uterus is
in a location outside the uterus (mine was found on my bowels: small intestine
and colon). Adenomyosis is when the endometrial cells are within the
uterus, in the uterine wall. I think it's easy to confuse the two
because they have some similarities... But I've not read or heard of
adenomyosis having to do with fluid in the uterine lining. I am just
going to think positively and hope that #1 The fluid is gone on Monday. #2 We
can go ahead with the FET as scheduled and #3 it’s successful because the endo
was the problem. I guess I am fortunate
in a way that the endo was not on or around any of the reproductive
organs. So bizarre though. If things don’t work out this time, then I
will definitely bring up the question of possible autoimmune issues. I hope your blood work goes well today.
@nmtay I can totally sympathize with your frustration. It sucks when your body doesn’t do what you
want it to, when all you want to do is stay on the schedule. I'm currently pissed at my uterus for developing a pocket of fluid, when all I want is to have the FET as scheduled on Monday. It’s so ironic though because most of the time we
want AF to stay the hell away and when you want/need her to come, she’s
not! FX that it starts soon and you can
get the show on the road.
@hopeful_mom I love reading your posts… You crack me
up! Thank you for the positive
thoughts. Wine Night was fun… I think it’s
what I needed after the emotional craziness of yesterday. My girls came to my house and stayed until
almost 1 AM, making me quite tired today.
I actually switched it up from wine… I had two coconut water
vodka/pineapple juice drinks. Very
refreshing! I put in lots of juice and
ice with one shot in each drink so that made me feel like I wasn’t being too
naughty haha. I’m excited for you to be
on track with your schedule! How fun
that you saw NKOTB… When I was little, I had the Jordan Knight doll with his
long rat tail braid lol.
AFM I did my first PIO injection this morning. It went pretty well I think. I probably need to go a little lower next time…
and maybe a little more to the left, but it didn’t hurt at all. I bled a little after and the site was a
little sore. All in all I think it was
very good for the first try in a long time.
Tomorrow will be harder though. I
am left handed and will have to shoot into my left side. I will need to maybe stretch for that one
@hopeful_mom lol. Afterward I got my day
started and worked out. So far I like
doing it in the morning. It certainly
wakes me up for the day, as I’m no longer sleepy after sticking myself with a
needle!

joneser1281 you really r a trooper - big thumps up to u, I tip my hat Being like that cartoon plastic man would really come in handy! At least you got your day started right! I've barely been taking my estrace on time 2x a day...I'm curious to see if I"m making a mess of things already.
@Ash_SE i'm in NY so you would think this wouldnt be such a issue. I have a consultation with dr for Aug which sux as I was hoping to be pregnant by then but after my update today who knows..
(TW) My update has a trigger warning as its not good news and negative so the rest of my message will not leave you feeling good. SO read on at your own risk. AFM: Hi ladies been a rough day for me! PGS Results came back and they straight up suck! 2 out of the 3 embryos are abnormal and the 3rd had no DNA...meaning theres an error and need to retest it, IF I want to. I have to dethaw the embryo and do the process and cost again. AND have to hope the egg survives all of it. You wanna talk about feeling so discouraged, today would be that day! How do 3 "perfect looking" embabies come back bad. Yes I know I have normies waiting, but do I, cause science is always right. Have I been crying all day and a basket case, yup! Does OH not want me to transfer and come back to myself, yep! Can I argue with him, I dont know. Right now I want to do nothing, I feel like this is never going to work. I feel bad having these thoughts when we're all going through different struggles, to get to transfer etc. Being all out of pocket and being able to put a price tag on your unhappiness to boot really sux! If I was younger I would take a break but I'm not so what do you do. Today I'm mad that I have to still be in this process. I'm pissed even more with my MC today. I had everything I wanted and lost it, how do you move past that.

knottie- My mom was diagnosed with RA in her early 20's. She had no problem getting pregnant either, as she became pregnant with me six months after getting married at 25, and with my sister four years later. She's never suffered a miscarriage, as far as I know.
@joneser1281- Oh no! I hope the fluid goes away and your FET is carried out as scheduled! I've gained a few pounds and apparently only in the midsection. The other day I had a giant burrito for lunch which made by belly even bigger and that started a pregnancy talk. Not even pregnant and everyone at work is asking me if I am. Sigh. Can't even eat a large meal for lunch!
@LadyBee17- Welcome and hoping the third time's the charm!
@adaoga0616- Congrats on your lining and yay for staying on track!
@Cowboycorgi and @brooklyngirl18 - Congrats!!! I've been meaning to pop into the June FET and say hello. I'm so happy that so many from the June FET had BFPs and hoping to follow your footsteps!

@Hopeful_mom I'm so sorry to hear about your news. That is definitely a very difficult decision... To decide to test that embryo again... and pay OOP again for it... or to just try and transfer it as is? How many normals do you still have? I also understand your conflicted feelings about whether or not to take a break or keep moving forward with treatment. Sometimes a break is good, to get some mental clarity and just distance yourself from the situation. Then you could always get back into it. I keep telling myself I am not giving up. Whether we take breaks or not, I will keep going through this process until we have our baby. One of my close friend's husband has battled testicular cancer on and off since he was a teenager. They have no other option but IVF to have a family. She went through 2-3 fresh IVF cycles with no luck, but finally had success on a FET. She had their son in December. And all the while I would say to her... How are you making yourself go through with another cycle? The money, the needles, the stress? She said we have so many medical bills already, another cycle is just a drop in the bucket. We can always make more money. I am going to do whatever we have to in order to have a family. And she did. So when I feel like giving up, I think of her. She didn't get that baby by quitting. So I say do what you feel is right... Take a break or move forward... But don't give up! We are all rooting for you.
Thank you @cashewchicken! I am trying to remain positive. I reminded myself the other day that I was in a similar situation for the fresh transfer. I had to have an US the morning of transfer (beforehand) so they could make sure I didn't have too much fluid in my abdomen from stimming/egg retrieval. I can remember the US tech telling me as I laid there that I still had a little fluid, but that I should still be ok to proceed with transfer that day. I mean, it never even dawned on me that we wouldn't transfer that day. DH had taken off work to be there for it, in my mind we were doing it that day... and as she said that I was like shit, thank goodness. It never crossed my mind that cancelling and doing a freeze-all was even a possibility. So I guess I need to try not to stress about this and hope things work out as well to transfer.
WTF on your coworkers?! We have all gained a few lbs around the middle during this process and if you want to eat a burrito, I say eat the damned burrito! Haha. Just get new work friends... Haha, kidding. But people like that always amaze me. They clearly have no idea what it's like to be in a position to not be able to get PG or they don't know anyone who has been in that position. After going through all of this, I would NEVER ask someone about their plans for a family, let alone ask if they were PG. I am going to steal that though... If anyone ever asks me if I am PG, I'm going to say nah, I just had a big lunch. Haha, MTHFRs!
Well I survived day 2 of PIO. I did it a little lower than yesterday, but it was still not painful at all. I am thinking maybe I'm still going a little too high? I don't know. I will go lower tomorrow I guess and see. I just don't want to be missing the muscle ya know? Having another wine night tonight with a different friend... Thank goodness... I need to have plans to pass the time to Monday!

@Hopeful_mom I'm so so sorry . That really sucks. How many normals do you have on ice? Honestly I'd leave the untested one and not retest right now and do a FET with one of your normals. My lab charges to unfreeze and refreeze and biopsy on top of PGS and it isn't worth it for 1 especially when the other 2 from the batch are abnormal.
Doimg a FET is easier so far so maybe do that and then do another retrieval if need be.
Hopeful_Mom: I too am so very sorry to hear the bad news. It is so heartbreaking, I know. My first cycle resulted in only 1 blast (out of 19 eggs, to add insult to injury -- I thought I had it made!) which tested as abnormal. I don't think I had ever felt so down and hopeless as when I got that news. Every cycle is so damn different, it seems. But, I must echo what joneser1281said: No not give up. Those are the words that every single woman I have known (and I've known a lot) who has gone through IVF has told me. This is but one hurdle in the long, long marathon of a race. You will get to that finish line. And I really do agree with Ash_SE: go forward with a FET of one of the normals that you have. You are so lucky to have 2 -- and who knows, maybe the 3rd will be too, but you can wait to test that until you have to. The FET prep process will give you a little time to heal too. And have some wine......
@hopeful_mom I'm so sorry to hear your update, even if you have some normals stored, it still is not fun new to receive. I hope today has been ok for you. You should treat yourself tonight!
Hi ladies, coming over from the June IVF board. We had planned a fresh transfer but plans have changed. I had my ER today and got 5 eggs out. Hooray! That's pretty good in my situation since re only saw a possible 6 to begin with. The Dr had to go through my uterus to get to the left ovary and poke through my lovely lining. We are switching from fresh to frozen transfer so that we get the chance at non poked lining. I know nothing about frozen transfer so it's time for homework! So I have lots to learn from you all.
The other weird thing is that there was tissue peeling in my vagina that they pulled off/ sniped out. They are doing a biopsy for cancer. Wtf!? I needed another thing to worry about.
@Knottie3527477 you can change your screen name! I did. Did you use the knot before? If so, you have to go to their page to change it. I'm mobile bumping so I can't find it for you right now but worst case, email the bump and the can help you find it.

@MMD1986- $125/day is pricey! I'm amazed how people come up with ways to make money off of people like us. I'm currently leaning towards having the the nurse do the shot on the first day just so that I know where to inject, how deep to insert the needle, and just alleviate my anxiety. I'm willing to spend $125, since not being able to do the shot at exactly 8 pm on day 1 will cost me an entire FET! (for some reason this was the shot that they insisted had to be done at 8 pm)
@Ash_SE- I was prescribed 16 mg methylpred, to be taken 4 days leading up to transfer or around transfer (I need to double check with the clinic). Actually, the clinic only prescribes methylpred for patients doing a 3-day transfer. I'm doing a blast transfer but convinced the RE to let me take it anyway. My RE is based in California (Silicon Valley). Not sure how familiar he is with all the studies done on the immune-related infertility. I get the impression though that he is aware of many of the newer protocols in IVF, and his general approach is if it doesn't hurt, you can try it (like letting me try methylpred). Another clinic nearby is 100% into immune issues and eastern medicine. A friend of mine was a patient there and she was told to abstain from all kinds of food to reduce inflammation and whatnot. My clinic is not as hardcore.
@nmtay- My cycle length has been all over the place since I started IVF. It used to be ~29 days, but after the first two stimulation/ER cycles, my cycle length was 25 days or less! After the last ER cycle (cycle #3), my cycle length was longer, 33 days. Ugh! Hope your AF comes soon!

@Hopeful_mom- I'm so sorry about your PGS result. I understand the frustration of IVF, and feeling like we can't even take a break thanks to our AMA... I hear you. But do take care of yourself. If you and your OH decide to take a month off to just rest and think it over, I think it's okay too.
@joneser1281-I need to get new work friends. lol. Definitely people at my work need a refresher course on appropriate workplace conduct (myself included). A friend of mine used to call a food-caused bloat "food baby". And I will be using that more frequently in the future (I hope!)
@JaeJayStark- Congrats on 5 eggs! Hope most, if not all, make it to blast! I hope the tissue they found is nothing to be concerned about.
@Holls214- Maybe I missed it, but have you heard back about your PGS results?
AFM- I just took the last bcp pill before the FET! Hopefully that's the last pill I ever need to take... until the next FET for baby #2! Dream big, I say. I'm only on bcp and lupron and lately I'm sleepy ALL the time. I don't know why. Oh btw, if you're thinking about maybe celebrating the fourth of July with some cocktails or alcoholic beverages of your choice, my nurse told me that it's perfectly okay to drink up to the transfer. It was funny because I emailed the nurse about taking methylpred and she replied back with, "oh btw I got your message from xxx. It is fine to continue taking Benadryl and Alleve throughout the cycle and drink alcohol. But stop alleve and alcohol after the transfer occurs". That message was not from me. lol.

@cashewchickenWe got the testing back!! We had 8 normal embryos. 1 had a chromosome error. There are 5 boys and 3 girls. Ahhhh! now I'm nervous. We're just waiting to hear the protocol my doctor. I haven't drank in almost a year but might have one this weekend because hopefully I won't be able to have anymore... your doctor sounds hilarious! When is your FET? Excited for you.

Update- We got our potential transfer date of August 17th. So far away! I'm still thrilled but nervous already.

JaeJayStark: Thank you so much for the advice! Yes, I was on the Knot when I got married, but never really did much on that site, so I went over and changed my name to "angelbea" so hopefully the change translates over here on the Bump! Thank you!
Congrats on the egg count!! And I think a FET will go much better than a fresh (that is what my RE says anyway -- he doesn't even do fresh transfers, actually). And don't worry about the biopsy -- they are just being careful, and most likely, it is nothing. The good news is that your doc is very thorough -- that is a good thing! I hope they get back to you soon with the results so that you don't have this to think about. I was in your shoes too -- I had focused so much on the ERs, that I completely never even thought about a transfer! But the ladies here are such a great resource. You will likely have your FET in about 5-6 weeks? You should ask the clinic. Don't be afraid to pester your clinic with specific questions (I was like that during my first ER cycle, but totally changed afterwards -- they know me well now!) That is what you are paying for!! Good luck with fertilization, etc. We will be thinking of you!

Thank you so much for the detailed post. That's good to know that your RE doesn't even do fresh. So interesting.
UPDATE: I just talked to the nurse and 4 out of 5 fertilized!!!! I'm so happy! That's a pretty good result all things considered! they did ICSI to up the chances. We have decided to take a full cycle off to get all healed and healthy so my transfer won't be until late August I think. I'm feeling pretty positive so that's great!

Welcome @JaeJayStark... Congrats on your ER! A frozen cycle is a breeze compared to a fresh because you don't have to take all of the stim meds and go through a retrieval. For my first FET, I did a few weeks of BCPs, Estradiol pills, and PIO injections and that was it. This time I did a single Lupron Depot injection, Estradiol pills, and I started PIO a couple of days ago. I hear a frozen cycle is really helpful in getting the lining nice because you don't have the stim meds upsetting your system. That's crazy that they're doing a biopsy for you, but I'm sure it's just a precaution. I had a similar scare (you can see in my siggy) recently that pushed my cycle back a week. Right, like we need anything else to worry about! I'm sure that all will be fine.
@cashewchicken It pains me to hear that you're going to dish out $125 for your injection! I am telling you, you can totally do it yourself... You got this! If I can do it, anyone can! I would put the demo video up on my phone and watch/pause it as I went along. I'd look in a mirror (one long enough to see my bum) and find a good spot to mark a circle... I am telling you girlfriend, you can do it. Once you do it that first time, you'll be fine. I'd just hate for you to dish out additional money for something I know you can do, when we already pay so much for IVF. I've gotten pretty good with the PIO now. I first wipe the area with an alcohol swab... Then I'll let it dry while I draw up the injection. Then I'll hold the injection (keep the cap on the needle lol) under my armpit to warm it up as I stand in front of the mirror and look for a good spot to mark with a circle. Then I do the injection and afterward hold a tissue on it (I've been bleeding a little, prob due to the baby aspirin) and massage in a circle for about 60 seconds to help spread the medication. I always insert the needle the whole way because in the past there have been times a little bit has run out when I withdrew the needle. Then I put one of those little square bandaids on to help stop the bleeding. Done! If you are more comfortable spending the money to have someone show you, I completely understand, but have faith in yourself too. You can do it... and for free lol.
Thank you for the tip on alcoholic beverages... Good to know. I loled when you said you didn't even leave the message she was talking about. At least you got some good info regardless haha.
@Holls214 Congratulations on your good news! You haven't drank in a YEAR?! Lord, someone help me up off the floor. I have no idea how you managed to do that with all of this IVF stress, but you are a saint. Definitely treat yourself, please! Do it for me lol.
Not a whole lot new with me. PIO is going well and still not hurting at all. I am amazed. Maybe my ass thinks it's just like riding a bike... Hey we did this in the fall, no problem haha. A friend came over for wine night last night. I am no martyr, so I had two glasses lol. We have a wedding tomorrow, so I plan to have a couple there as well. Just biding my time until Monday.
Anyone have big plans for the 4th? We've gotten away from our non-IVF topic questions haha. We don't have anything special planned. We always go to DH's aunt's house for food and then watch the town's fireworks from her yard. Hopefully I will have had my FET the day before and won't be able to drink... But if things fall through, I will most likely be lit like a firecracker!

Jul. 2017: Baby aspirin, Estradiol, PIO, FET 4AA (lost 1 4AA in thaw) = CP
I feel like I'm a little late to the party, but hoping to do an FET mid-late July. I was a bit disappointed by our first cycle of IVF so we decided to do another cycle in hopes of having more embryos for the future, but unfortunately our second cycle turned out worse than the first. We have 3 normal embryos total and although they aren't the greatest quality in terms of grading, I'm hoping that since they are PGS normal we will have good luck with the transfer. It's kind of hard to be optimistic that things will go well when it feels like nothing has so far, but I'm trying!
I'm just waiting on AF to arrive, to get my calendar and transfer date. For you ladies, how many days will it be between AF and transfer? I'm trying to figure out my work schedule for this month. I saw someone made a chart for FET with transfer and beta dates on another month. Should we start one here?
@Holls214 - 8 normal embryos- that's amazing! congrats! my clinic makes me wait 2 months between IVF & transfer too, it kind of stinks, but at least it gives you a chance to physically and mentally recover- enjoy it!
@Hopeful_mom - I'm sorry that this cycle didn't go better, but glad you finally got some normals in your last few cycles!
In terms of drinking, I've had success with either going early and getting a non-alcoholic cocktail made, and also telling people that I went on the paleo diet (which I did for a while) and couldn't drink alcohol- but then you also have to eat paleo at least when you're with them

@joneser1281 I don't even know how the year happened. Now I think I'm more afraid of a hangover haha! No plans for the 4th really. Having a BBQ tonight and probably golfing all weekend. Your transfer is next week? Ahhh so exciting! Better let loose this weekend for sure.

@mtele welcome. AF arrived for me on 6/26, and they aren't doing my transfer until 7/19. I like the idea of a chart so everyone can post their dates/results because it can be a bit hard to remember when everyone's transfer is.
No big plans for the fourth for me. Going to my MILs house to grill and play games, and then probably call it an early night. My dogs are not big fireworks fans, so I like to be home when they start going off.
@mtele yes the 2 months almost stinks but oh well. We could have done it the week before but my husband with be in London for business. One of my friends did the Whole 30 Diet to get pregnant and when she found out she just said she was still on the diet so people wouldn't ask when she wasn't drinking but like you then she had to eat that way when she was out haha.

Hello all! I have been lurking and trying to catch up! It sounds like a lot of you got a good number of blasts and are all in good track for your FET! We had our ER in April and ended up with two pgs normal blasts so we are praying one sticks! We did IVF for MFI. Just talked to my nurse today and she said tentative date for transfer is July 17, I have been on Lupron for 15 days and start estrogen tonight! Hoping for July 17, I couldn't start estrogen when I wasnsupppsed to becaeu my ljnkgnwas too thick and then today I had 3ml of fluid? But mt doc said it's not issue. Non IVF related for the 4th I'll be working (boo) us nurses operate 24/7, 365 unfortunately! My DH won't let me drink lol he's too terrified something will happen I think he is more nervous than I am!
Welcome @mtele! I hope AF comes for you soon so that you can get going with your schedule.
@Holls214 I try to avoid a hangover at all costs too! Haha. I'm not as young as I used to be... It now takes days to recover! Yes, my FET is scheduled for Monday, as long as the US beforehand shows I have no more fluid in my lining. Pray for me please!
@Knottief566e0fd61816403 You have the longest username I've ever seen! Lol. Welcome! I was intrigued to hear that you have fluid too, but were told it doesn't seem an issue for you. You do have more time until your transfer though. Mine is on Monday, so I guess it's not good that I have some. Yuck that you have to work on the 4th, but I know nurses don't get the luxury of holidays off.
Ok so I tried to make a spreadsheet... I've never made one before, so if it doesn't work, just let me know haha. I'd been thinking that maybe we should make one, but didn't know if anyone else wanted to. Hopefully you can edit your info if needed. I know things change all the time with regards to our dates and such in cycles.

cashewchicken seriously a big lunch and that brings up baby questions, ugh yes you need new friends! Some people just have no filter its amazing!! Since TTC because there was always the what If of hoping to be preggers I really never drank....and giving in to it today left me with a worse headache then before! Its a very hard decision, taking time off doesnt make me feel better i"m taking estrace now and since i'm not running to the dr I dont really feel like i'm prepping anyway. OH and I will never agree but he cant take seeing me like this either. He feels like I'm acting like I did during the MC, some days that loss is just a lot harder on me then others.
joneser1281 well i want you to kno i gave in and had the cocktail and I think it gave me a worse headache then the one I already had...I know its the crying but I guess my body did not like the vodka at all! I tried knew it wouldnt make me feel better but I tried. Good job on the doc! I think you got everyone. It seems like its on view only though...but who knows i'm terrible at google docs!
@Knottief566e0fd61816403 ; welcome, are you planning on transferring 2 or 1? Are they both the same gender or one and one? I would love to transfer 2 but OH wont agree to it and RE prefers to only do one once you know it PGS.
Ash_SE in between the melt downs I've been trying to figure out what to do and i think for me I just need to know what i'm working with...even if that means losing it as my RE is not optimistic with re-freezing. I have 4 normies on ice praying they will thaw properly for a transfer is nerve wracking enough. I think knowing they are all the same sex has left me a bit down as well. You start losing faith in this process and it just sux!
angelbea congrats on the name change I forgot the knot was attached to this its been so long. I hate to sound like such the winer but its just so frustrating. Having the one bad cycle was hard but I just pushed forward. I knew getting bad news would upset me i just feel like its broken me. The RE isn't hopeful about the whole process to re-test the embryo but I still think I rather know what I'm working with then not. Apart of me just wants to transfer it really but OH is not down with that. @mteleMMD1986 and if my body is on point they said transfer could be as early as 7/14.
AFM: I wish I could say I've been feeling better but I haven't - I hate that I've lost so much faith and am so angry with g-d currently. I'm not a super religious person but I do have faith and I just dont get it. Life is hard but its not suppose to be this hard. I hate walking down the street and seeing family with FLOCKS of kids and i'm still desperately trying for one! I did have a cocktail today and from not drinking i think it added to my pounding headache. Hopefully I can just get some sleep. Its almost 3am so we see how well thats going.

@joneser1281 thanks for making that sheet! That's awesome. I couldn't edit but maybe because I'm on my phone... it's helpful to see because I swear I'm so forgetful these days. Monday yay!!! Can't wait to hear updates.

@Hopeful_mom my RE will only let me transfer one because of my age and they have not found anything wrong with me thus far she doesn't want me to risk multiples. I was also nervous I wouldn't be able to be a good enough mommy to two babies at the same time because this will be my first if it works
@joneser1281 I know I have no clue how to change my name otherwise I would LOL!! I'm not very tech savvy!! I was worried about the fluid but I'm not sure if it was just fluid in my uterus cavity or in my lining because I just finished my period. Of course I didn't think to ask because I never do when I'm on the phone lol. I had a US on Tuesday 6/27 day 3 of my cycle and my lining was 14 too thick to start estrogen so I had to go back yesterday and it was 6 with the 3cc of fluid! So my RE let me start maybe she thinks it'll go away
@joneser1281 - Thanks for making the spreadsheet and filling so much out already! I think it is view only- looks like there is a little tab that you can use to change that at the top.
@knottie - I work in radiology and it is very common to have a little bit of fluid in your endometrial canal around the time of your period. I actually had some the first time I went in for my IVF monitoring US when I had just finished my period too.
AFM- AF arrived shortly after my post so I just put on my first of the estrogen patches! I'm getting a bit more excited about this process now. Have you ladies had many side effects from the estrogen?

@Hopeful_mom Oh no, I am sorry to hear about your drinking headache. Girl, you must hydrate while drinking! I'm sure you are right, part of it had to do with crying... Which creates a stress headache and I think dehydrates you as well. Take some Airborne! I swear by it when I feel I'm coming down with something or even if I'm feeling the effects of booze. You are entitled to your down days for sure about your MC. I have them as well just about the CPs. Those feelings can come out of nowhere. But the feelings do pass. I also get down when seeing people out and about with their kids. It will happen for us too. It has to!
@Holls214 Haha, yes let's hope my transfer is still Monday. I won't know until I get there and they check on things. FX!
@Knottief566e0fd61816403 Lol, I am not tech-savy either! Someone said before that if you change your name, you have to sign out and sign back in again for the change to take effect. My RE feels the same way about only transferring one due to my "young" age and overall good health. Had we not found the endo on my bowels back in March, I was prepared to transfer two this time (my RE would do two if we really wanted to). But at her recommendation (and my obgyn agreed), we are going to do one since the endo could have been a source of inflammation and causing implantation issues. That baffles me because the endo was nowhere near my reproductive organs, but apparently can still cause fertility issues no matter where it is. I'm with you... Twins make me nervous. If it happens, I would be happy no matter what, but I'm just not seeking them out... Yet haha.
@mtele Congrats on getting things going! I've never used a patch, but take Estradiol pills. I was on 4 mg and then it was upped to 6 mg, which is what I'm currently taking. Initially I felt like it was keeping me up at night, but that could have also been my nerves about getting everything started. I was taking it at 9 AM and 9 PM, so I thought maybe I was taking it too close to bedtime and it was keeping me up. I've since changed to 8 AM/PM and it's been better. Maybe my nerves just calmed haha. Then when the dosage was upped, I broke out around my mouth/chin area. Fun! I think it may also make me hungry... But I also love to eat so maybe not lol. Let us know what you experience.
Ok so I think I was able to change the spreadsheet so you guys can edit it. I've never created anything in google docs before so bear with me haha. If it still doesn't let you edit, let me know. Maybe I need to reshare the link after making the change:
AFM DH and I are off to a wedding this afternoon. I got a new strapless, pants jumpsuit/romper that came in the mail yesterday so I am excited to wear it... Other than that, not really thrilled to go to the wedding haha. It's not someone we are close with so we won't know too many people. I may have a cocktail or two... Prob 2. Haha. At least I've been doing PIO shots in the morning and won't have to worry about that there. But I'll take my Estradiol pills with me. I'll have to discreetly pop those since we'll be sitting with DH's family and they don't know anything about our treatment.
Nov. 2016: Hospitalized for small bowel obstruction
Mar. 2017: Diagnostic Laparoscopy = Twist found in intestine - part of small intestine, part of colon, and appendix removed, bowel resection - caused by Endometriosis
May 2017: 3.75 Lupron Depot
June 2017: FET postponed due to complex cysts in breasts
June 2017: Endometrial scratch
Jul. 2017: Baby aspirin, Estradiol, PIO, FET 4AA (lost 1 4AA in thaw) = CP
@mtele that's what's my thought was. I mean I literally thought nothing of it when they did the US I just assumed that it was normal as I'm still bleeding a little (if that's TMI I'm sorry)
@joneser1281 if you end up with twins I'll be excited for you! I would be excited if I ended up with them too. My DH would probably have a stroke with excitement lol he tells me when I finally get pregnant he's gonna run thru a wall. (He's nuts) have fun at the wedding!!!
AFM... I can't remember who asked me what sex my embies are but we didn't find out! I wanna wait till a 20 week mark if we get pregnant, I was nervous to find out the sex because if it didn't work I think I wouldn't be more upset. I'm super sensitive to emotional things mostly from the hormones lol but that's my only side effect so I'm not complaining! Hope everyone is having a good day. I just took my big fur babies for a hike and then gave them a bath! Now going to the farmers market. I'm flying solo this long weekend my other half is in Michigan visiting family and I didn't want to go because they don't know about us doing IVF!
Re: July FET
@joneser1281 I had fluid in my uterus at a monitoring appointment right before my FET, my dr didn't know why it was there but said it would probably resolve itself. I went back a few days later and boom, it was gone. We proceeded with my FET and I'm currenlty 6w pregnant. keep the faith! I hope the fluid resolves itelf. I would definitely ask for another ultrasound before fet to be sure it's gone.
Married 10/12

FET- 6/17- BFP!
Due Feb 15, 2017
@ladybee17 Welcome to the group.
I do hope it does go away by your next appointment. Sending prayers your way.
Booooooo.
Both married for the first time in our 40s; went straight to IVF after multiple fibroid surgeries
(2/17) ER: #1: agonist/antagonist protocol: 19 eggs; 8 mature; 13 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
(4/17) ER: #2: same protocol but stimmed an extra 2 days: 16 eggs; 10 mature (5 more matured in lab); 13 fertilized; 2 6-day blasts (5AA & 6BA) & 2 7-day blasts (6BA & 5BB): only 1 Day 6 6BA tested normal!
FET on 7/10/17
Beta on 7/21/17: Negative:(
(8/17) ER #3: 9 eggs; 6 mature; 3 fertilized; 1 7-day blast (6BA = abnormal/non-viable)
Developed severe complications (abdominal bleeding) following egg retrieval which required hospitalization, transfusion & emergency surgery. Done with IVF.

I'm really bruised ( dark red and purple the size of grapefruits all over my stomachs ) from the Lovenox injections
motherf'er as you just dont know IF it causes an issue for u.
AFM: Yes AF finally came and I have to say I was like ok, I'm hoping to not see you in a good year after today please
I have started estrace and my insurance doesn't cover PIO for me, so more OOP for me.
Today I finally did something for me and actually got to feel like a kid again seeing New Kids On The Block perform. Its been forever since i've been to a concert...nkotb last year

Good Morning Ladies! Time for my daily novel lol. I know you either enjoy reading my posts or you're rolling your eyes thinking there she goes again. Either way, I appreciate the chance to vent haha.
@Ash_SE You've been through a lot. Thanks for sharing. Of what I've read on the subject, the evidence falls short for saying endometriosis is autoimmune. It's actually not considered to be an autoimmune disease itself, but having it can put you at a higher risk for autoimmune diseases. Endo doesn't respond to any known treatments for autoimmunity. Adenomyosis is not the same as endometriosis. I believe they can occur together, but endo is when the lining of the uterus is in a location outside the uterus (mine was found on my bowels: small intestine and colon). Adenomyosis is when the endometrial cells are within the uterus, in the uterine wall. I think it's easy to confuse the two because they have some similarities... But I've not read or heard of adenomyosis having to do with fluid in the uterine lining. I am just going to think positively and hope that #1 The fluid is gone on Monday. #2 We can go ahead with the FET as scheduled and #3 it’s successful because the endo was the problem. I guess I am fortunate in a way that the endo was not on or around any of the reproductive organs. So bizarre though. If things don’t work out this time, then I will definitely bring up the question of possible autoimmune issues. I hope your blood work goes well today.
@nmtay I can totally sympathize with your frustration. It sucks when your body doesn’t do what you want it to, when all you want to do is stay on the schedule. I'm currently pissed at my uterus for developing a pocket of fluid, when all I want is to have the FET as scheduled on Monday. It’s so ironic though because most of the time we want AF to stay the hell away and when you want/need her to come, she’s not! FX that it starts soon and you can get the show on the road.
@hopeful_mom I love reading your posts… You crack me up! Thank you for the positive thoughts. Wine Night was fun… I think it’s what I needed after the emotional craziness of yesterday. My girls came to my house and stayed until almost 1 AM, making me quite tired today. I actually switched it up from wine… I had two coconut water vodka/pineapple juice drinks. Very refreshing! I put in lots of juice and ice with one shot in each drink so that made me feel like I wasn’t being too naughty haha. I’m excited for you to be on track with your schedule! How fun that you saw NKOTB… When I was little, I had the Jordan Knight doll with his long rat tail braid lol.
AFM I did my first PIO injection this morning. It went pretty well I think. I probably need to go a little lower next time… and maybe a little more to the left, but it didn’t hurt at all. I bled a little after and the site was a little sore. All in all I think it was very good for the first try in a long time. Tomorrow will be harder though. I am left handed and will have to shoot into my left side. I will need to maybe stretch for that one @hopeful_mom lol. Afterward I got my day started and worked out. So far I like doing it in the morning. It certainly wakes me up for the day, as I’m no longer sleepy after sticking myself with a needle!

Doimg a FET is easier so far so maybe do that and then do another retrieval if need be.

That message was not from me. lol.

I haven't drank in almost a year but might have one this weekend because hopefully I won't be able to have anymore... your doctor sounds hilarious! When is your FET? Excited for you.

@Knottie3527477 sign out and sign back in. It should update!

@cashewchicken It pains me to hear that you're going to dish out $125 for your injection!
Thank you for the tip on alcoholic beverages... Good to know. I loled when you said you didn't even leave the message she was talking about. At least you got some good info regardless haha.
@Holls214 Congratulations on your good news! You haven't drank in a YEAR?!

No big plans for the fourth for me. Going to my MILs house to grill and play games, and then probably call it an early night. My dogs are not big fireworks fans, so I like to be home when they start going off.
Non IVF related for the 4th I'll be working (boo) us nurses operate 24/7, 365 unfortunately! My DH won't let me drink lol he's too terrified something will happen I think he is more nervous than I am!
I know things change all the time with regards to our dates and such in cycles.

joneser1281 well i want you to kno i gave in and had the cocktail and I think it gave me a worse headache then the one I already had...I know its the crying but I guess my body did not like the vodka at all!
You start losing faith in this process and it just sux!
angelbea congrats on the name change

Now
going to the farmers market. I'm flying solo this long weekend my other half is in Michigan visiting family and I didn't want to go because they don't know about us doing IVF!
