Damnit I hate all the heartbreaking and sad things so many ladies in this thread are experiencing. We need a win for this thread. For ALL of us. Someone has got to follow ladymillil to graduate soon. I just want you all to know that even thought we've never met, I value this group so much. You all have gotten me through so much, and I hope I've helped even a smidge in some of what you all are facing. Through the tears and wins ya'll..we keep fighting.
@Aurora1973 Are you both on the same insurance? Even if you weren't, wouldn't the IUI still be considered medically necessary due to DOR? Thanks for the info on frozen sperm. It makes me feel better about the chance of using frozen for this IUI. The nurse said that there is apparently some amount of attrition when you're freezing and thawing but not terrible and she didn't mention anything about them having a reduced survival time once thawed.
@TravelingCouple I'm sorry that house fell through. That's tough when everything else is going really well but it's extra hard when you add this stuff to IF and it seems like nothing is going in your favor. I hope that this just means that you're perfectly positioned for a house that turns out to be a better match for you. We missed out on a house (still think it was shady how it went down) that I was in LOVE with and I still love and I stalked the hell out of it until it closed. But, we're in a house that is less out of date than that one was, has a better yard, and was much more comfortably in our price range. I still wish we had that house but I know this one is more right for us where we are now.
@saralee797-2 My RE votes for ICSI to avoid the risk of triploidy (thanks for the correct term, @adirat) where two sperm can manage to slip into one egg. It's rare but her take on it is that if you've fought that hard for all of those eggs, why not give them the best shot and avoid that. I had kind of hoped to at least keep some of the magic of chance but I agree with her point.
I am so sorry about your grandmother. Remember to be kind to yourself. You're doing the best you can do. She loved you.
@KristoKekerooni The next start date for a PGS group is August 6. In the meantime, we're doing one more IUI cycle. Then, I would do BCP for probably close to 4-5 weeks, depending on where my period falls. I had been confused on the BCP part, whether it's for suppression or getting the timing together for batching but it looks like my clinic does it for both reasons. Their goal is at least two weeks of BCP prior to start.
There's a lot to be bitter and angry and jealous about in this process. Take care of yourself.
@Hollyyyy Haha. I didn't foresee it working but I managed to talk my parents into letting me get a hamster by checking out a ton of books from the library and peppering them with hamster facts. Tamagotchis would do better these days with a school day pause option. I remember my sister having my mom babysit hers during the school day. Uh, no.
@AshleyB09042015 That's a tough one. FX they come up with something!
@BusinessWife I'm so excited that the retrieval is within sight!
@zwink1 I'm sorry that you feel like the greeter. FX the time passes quickly and you start getting some more momentum.
@Lund Glad to hear you had a good appointment and a plan! As for work, I haven't told anyone in my immediate office. I'd be interested to hear what the bets are in the office pool now that I've had more appointments in 2017 than probably the last 10 years combined. But, I haven't felt compelled to share. I just say I have an appointment and when I'll be back. If someone finally asks, I'll tell them that it's just a thing that we're taking care of and I'm not dying. I did end up telling HR and my manager (located in an office across the country). I'm looking at shifting positions and the one problem with the one I want is the travel so I first talked to my friend in HR to get her take on it and why that was an issue for me and then to my manager. It's a relief for him to know so now I don't feel like I'm being shady with all of the absences. I make the time up so I know it's good but I'm glad that if someone complains about my time I have two people who know the real story. But, I also have known both of them for years and knew that they would be supportive and wouldn't pester or judge me. Hopefully your coworkers will be discreet and understanding. FWIW, my RE's office recommends the Clearblue Digitals (actually taken in the early afternoon, I think 12-4, not FMU) and I use those for the timeframe they recommended but I use Wondfos for FMU and any other testing throughout the day. But, I think they also recommend those because it's easier on them and removes a variable. I think that sometimes they get people who haven't been using OPKs before and aren't as experienced in reading them and would drive them bats with "I think it's positive? Here's a picture. Is it positive?"
@eggplantface Yeah, I feel like it's a huge weight lifted, too. My RE was talking about people's personal limits and I told her that if you had asked me 10 years ago if I would do IVF, I'd have said I wasn't sure about that but now it's whatever. I think it really helps that I've had so much exposure to people who have done it and I've had so much time to get used to the idea. I think it would be a lot harder if it were something more along the lines of an immediate, "There's no way it will happen without IVF." H keeps asking if any of my internet friends have done IVF and it went okay. Yes, dear. A number of them.
@magnolia131 So glad you got an appointment nailed down so you won't call up all ready to get things going only to find out you have to wait a long time just for the initial appointment. FX you don't need it.
@RedPuma119 I'm so sorry. That's a lot all in one day. I hope that you're feeling better and have a game plan soon. One day at at time. What was your prolactin at again?
@adirat I'm so sorry. I hope that they can get it scheduled ASAP and done with. The physical recovery dragging out just add so much insult to injury. It's like you just start feeling like you're healing and they open up the would and rub salt in it.
@antoto I'm so sorry. I hope that another day is all they need. FX for the one that's already been frozen.

@kiki75 Thank you, its been a rough week. I have had several draws, an earlier one by my OB was fine, she actually never gave me the level, and at that point in my journey I didn't think to ask. One was at 49, the next at 39. My nurse seemed to think that was really high, but from what I've read, it seems just to be slightly elevated. As soon as AF comes I'll go back in for fasted testing. Not sure why this wasn't mentioned to me before.
@antoto So many hugs girl. Sending positive vibes your way that you get a great outcome.
@kiki75 Yep, we're on the same insurance. Hopefully his issues are enough, but yeah, the DOR certainly is a thing, too. Keeping my fingers crossed...

@antoto Hey, I know I don't really go here, but I lurk a lot and really am cheering for everyone here! I just wanted to let you know (although I am sure that you have done plenty of googling), that a lot of good blasts are 6 day blasts! I really am keeping my fingers crossed for yours that are still going, but I know my RE office doesn't even look at them until day 6 because they say that so many lag behind until then and then turn out just fine. Also, the research shows no difference in success rates between day 5 blasts and day 6 blasts! Hoping for a good update!

@Zoey1019 you're so sweet and I'm happy that you came out of lurking to say that! I should clarify, probably, why I said I didn't have hope for the call today. It's less about what I think will possibly happen and more about protecting my heart. I had high expectations for yesterday's call and I ended up crushed and sobbing all day. So today I'm working on low expectations and hoping if the worst case scenario happens that I won't completely implode. This tactic may or may not be effective.
Ugh I'm so nervous for this call today. And since it's a weekday I bet they won't call me until late afternoon.
@antoto I totally understand protecting your heart! We all have to every step of the way! It really is such a shit process. That was how I got through every step from retrieval to that day 6 call to PGS results and betas. It's a tough road, but we will all be stronger for it in the end (this is what I hope at least).
Thinking of you today, I hope they get their butts in gear and call you earlier!
