@Rkstro2 I am having the same problem with my LO. She's just over 2 weeks but she's been sleeping a ton and we have been missing feedings because I can't wake her up! I've tried everything! Stripping her down, changing her diaper, switching breasts frequently, flicking the soles of her feet, "tickling" her, and making noises...she will grunt and move a littleness bit but goes right back give sleep. She's gaining weight so I guess it's ok...it's more that my boobs are killing me!!! She's been like this since birth! If you learn any tricks, please let me know!!
@museic-2 I'm late to the party but my LO has days/nights mixed up and is two weeks old today. We don't have an appt for a couple weeks so can you tell me exactly how this magical night time cluster feeding works? Please and thanks!!
@erinh2005 The doctor didn't really tell me how so what I did is feed her every 3 hrs or on demand during the day (making sure ALL are good, full feeds) then place the last 2-3 feeds at least 2 hrs together. This way she's on a full tank starting out the night. This worked really well for a few nights, then she was a little sick for a few days which threw us off. Now we're trying to get back on track and as I've been reading more about newborn sleeping I think I might try "dreamfeeding" instead. We didn't sleep well last night so now I'm second guessing everything lol
I hate night time. Being all snuggly in your bed sleeping for only 45 minute increments is terrible. My baby cries and grunts all night.. Starts eating every 2 hours and then it takes me such a long time to get him back to sleep.
@lrwardrop the last two nights, I've been "napping" laying half way on my glider and stool in the nursery in between feedings because LO has been waking up an hour after a feeding in the MOTN. o_O
So tired. Wish she would make up get mind. Are we going to eat? Are we going to sleep? But this latching, falling asleep, falling off the boob, then getting pissed when I move her business cuz she's apparently not done eating is getting old fast. So tired.
My my kid has been up for the last 4 freakin hours. Wtf. He falls asleep on H or I, but the second we put him down he's up. What am I doing wrong?! Aren't babies supposed to be sleepy?!?
I hear ya @MTB16. This is what happens with our 4-5am feed. Babies are sleepy but clingy. Does he fall asleep as long as hesing being held? Clingy. Unfortunately that's normal. So I've learned...

Yep falls asleep so easy being held! I wish this didn't happen during the 10-11pm feed and the 2am feed. It's driving me insane!
And here I was thinking I was tired... DS2 has known day from night from day 1, he feeds every 2-4hrs during the day (7am - 4pm) then he cluster feeds every 30-60mins until 8pm, sleeps till 12-1:30ish then again till 3-5am and again till 7-9am, DS2 woke up at 4am today, then DS1 got up for the day at 5am so I've been knocked around today. Sounds like I've got it pretty good though

@MTB16 how does he sleep during the day? We were (are?) having that problem and we started putting her down for naps in the same place she sleeps at night. It has helped a lot. She still has times she won't go down but for some reason it's easier to start during the day. Maybe because I'm less invested in her sleeping? The "shush pat" method was also suggested to me but never really worked for us. Good luck! This too shall pass
@ShadeofGreen816 he sleeps amazing during the day - total dream baby, I put him in the bassinet he uses for overnight sleep. Sometimes after he's asleep and sometimes when he's still awake and he just quietly drifts off to sleep on his own. I cannot understand why night is such a struggle for us!!
@mtb16 I'm in the same situation. I rock baby for the longest time at night and the minute I put him down hes awake. I also wonder what I am doing wrong but honestly I think it's just the baby. I dont think there is anything that can be done other than wait until they get older.

Maybe try putting down earlier, and try flannelette sheets. Or a fuzzy blanket ontop. Sometimes it's the temperate change that wakes them
