@cato99, yikes...that sounds pretty awful. Will she take a bottle? You could pump (assuming you have one) and give your nipples a little rest. Mine were super sore the first 3 days. LC confirmed that it wasn't a bad latch and I use a nipple shield due to flat-ish nipples, so she was surprised I was in pain. I pumped and the milk had blood in it on one side, so confirmed there was something going on. A few non-nursing sessions helped get my ladies back on the right track
LO was so excited to wish me Happy Mothers Day he was fussing most of the night; he ate at 10, 12, 2, 4 and my alarm went off at 6. Ugh I'm so tired this morning!
My boobs feel like they are going to explode but lo had testing tonight and is very sleepy.... ugh trying to wake the baby and warring with myself wanting to let her sleep then I could sleep.... but she needs food....
Thank you @ChristinaWild@Yiggle09 and @Kipperoo!! She will take a bottle--we're supplementing because of some jaundice issues--but we haven't found a predictable pattern of WHEN/HOW. Right after breast or as separate session? Can I do that feeding or only from a non-mom person? Second Tuesdays at waxing moon when the last thrush sings? Otherwise it's a no-go.Tonight is going better! Not more sleep but less despair all around!
@cato99, glad to hear last night was better! With supplementing, it seems like the general recommendation is: nurse on both sides (I was told max of 15 mins each side), then give the bottle/formula supplement right after. I think it's a personal choice, but we alternate who does the bottle based on what's going on...I frequently pass her to DH or a visiting family member to do the bottle feeding.
Does anyone else's boobs leak while they're sleeping? I pump 8 times a day, and 3 of those are overnight, so I'd rather not pump more to solve the problem. I also hate bras and don't want to sleep in one. The leaking is really a pain, though.

@kns1988 no leaking over here (FX or maybe just not yet) but just some thoughts... is your bra maybe too tight? Right now, I'm sleeping In a tank with a built in bra for a little support. I'd think of you were going longer in between pumping sessions, you'd probably leak. But from what I remember, you two are on a schedule of feeding and pumping every 3 hours. Hopefully, your body will adjust and won't leak anymore...
Eta sorry if it sounds jumbled or rambled, I'm really tired tonight
@mrsrep123, The bra I wear during the day could be too tight. I don't like to wear one at night because I think bras are uncomfortable, but then I wake up freezing and have to change my shirt because I leaked all over it. I am on a 3 hour schedule, so you'd think the boobs would wait. It doesn't happen during the day.

@kns1988 I don't have any advise on why it's happening, but mine also leak occasionally at night. My baby is still on the inside, but for the past couple months or so, there have been a handful of times where I wake up and have a spot on my shirt. Again, only while sleeping. So, I'm not sure why, but my guess is that maybe your boob can be pressed in just the right fashion to express milk while you're sleeping. I know I sleep on my side, kind of slumped forward, so my boob is squished. *shrug*
@starphish18, I was wondering if that could be it because I'm a side-sleeper, too. Maybe I just need to find a bra comfortable enough to sleep in so that I can put pads in it.

Yes. I leaked 24/7 with DD I wore wireless tshirts bras to bed.
ETA I'm hoping that I can just put pads in my nursing tanks from Target since they have the built in bra.
I got some tanks from target that were fitted up top with removable pads. I bought them specifically for sleeping in so I could put nipple pads in them without having to wear a bra. Here are the two I got in case anyone else is looking:
Well it's 2:10 here in Florida...I've been up since i don't know 12:40ish. I woke up to a prettt intense cramp/backache/tight stomach so I'm thinking contraction. I get up to pee to see if it stops and it's just a pee contraction. It was still sort of there and I had more of the pink discharge. So I've been attempting to use this tracker app but I don't know if I'm using it correctly lol but I've been having the same thing happen since I woke up. Not sure if I can go back to sleep or not and not sure if it's the real deal...ugh...

I'm struggling with MOTN feeds tonight. I'm just so tired and I haven't slept for more than a 2.5 hour stretch in over 3 weeks. I'm debating on whether I can get rid of the 2:30 AM feed, but if I did, I think my boobs would be exploding by the morning. I also don't want to make any changes to the feeding schedule without talking to the doctor.

@kns1988 you are a tough momma! Hang in there! 3 weeks is a long time to only get 2.5 hours at time. I know you're on a schedule/plan, but when just EPing, you can do one, 4-5 hour stretch of not pumping in the MOTN. Definitely something to talk to your doctor about.
@BabyMC517 hope its the real deal girl! @kns1988 hang in there! I keep being told that we will sleep again, eventually!
I had been doing night shift in the living room, but we decided tonight to put the bassinet in our room and feed in the living room. So far it seems to be easier on me getting some naps in and I can tell DH to change the diapers
@kns1988 hang in there! Hoping you get a break soon.
Pumping after a frustrating attempt at feeding. She just did not want to wake up. Contemplated letting her sleep through but didn't want to disrupt her schedule.
@lilmisscrafty-2: Waking a heavy sleeper is no joke! It's one of the toughest things to do. I know the importance of a schedule but skipping over a feeding once in awhile surely couldn't hurt anybody, right? Sleep's important too
@lilmisscrafty-2 I have the same struggle with my little one. Waking him to keep feeding can be pretty impossible sometimes. I feel so defeated with BF and a schedule most nights.
@rebecca517-2: Hang in there, mama! It's not easy but you can seriously do this. You just have to make it through one more feeding, just the next one feeding. That's it. Take the short view. You can do it!
I'm not feeding a baby in the MOTN yet, and I'm not looking forward to those long nights. I woke up with a painful contraction about an hour ago. Doc swept my membranes at appt on Tuesdsy morning. I lost my muscus plug in the early evening. I just had bloody show (I hate that term) and got the uncontrollable need to nest. I made the bed in our spare bedroom and picked up a bit. No more contractions so I'll try to go back to sleep.
Blech. The heavy sleeper issue kicked my ass at our 1 am feed. She had gas and wouldn't settle so I was up until 245ish, then she was up at 5 wanting to eat again - and passed out 5 mins into this feeding. I'm dying.
@kns1988 - I'm using those Target tanks that @starphish18 linked to earlier and they are great. Dont ask how I know. It they will even absorb spit up easily.
@kns1988 Have you heard of lilypadz? They're made of silicone and the idea is that they stop leaking, versus just absorbing the leakage like other nursing pads. They're reusable, and comfortable in my opinion. I'm not nursing yet but I tried on a pair I bought.
@BabyMC517 and @clebl24 Hope they weren't false starts, and if they were, bummer!

The first one is specifically a nursing tank and loose around the stomach:
