I appreciate you saying that. My mom passed away when I was 13 and she was 15 so we don't have much close family outside of ourselves and our dad so I have really been trying to be there for her throughout all of this. It's not easy but it's worth it. Sometimes if she says something about "how long" it took her to get Pregnant, I scream on the inside because in my mind it wasn't long at all, but I think she tries to be respectful of my situation:)

How can she be so silly!! And just dont scream on the inside u can share with her AND let her see the shots that helps bring it to the forefront. My poor mother just gets sick seeing the needle. I give u so much credit! I've done it all for my friends and family and i'm actually happy that I dont have to deal with it this second! I had one friend having a baby as I had my MC and that was hard enough!

@Hopeful_mom my re had me on metanx, which is special folic acid, two a day, and I was taking a baby aspirin even when I wasn't stunning based off of some things I had read. It seemed common for people with mthfr that were ttc to have a baby aspirin a day. My re was ok with it. Those were the only changes directly related to mthfr. I'm doing better in the last couple of days. Thanks for asking. I'll be following your cycle and cannot wait for the updates!

Quick update, all 3 of my embryos are chromosonally bad:(. Ugh. Wish I could leave work for a minute.....I wonder if this means all my eggs are bad. I probably ran out of the good ones before my amh was as terrible as it is today.

They sent me the results for the 3 embryos:
-loss of chromosome 21
-duplication of chromosome 11
-loss of chromosome 6
my Dr. said I could come in and talk about the results....and encouraged me to try another round if I am still up for it...and even mentioned re-biopsing the embryos and testing again?!?!?!? That sounds insane because it's so expensive!
I don't know what to think really, but i guess I will just go another round and hope that this is not an indication of how this next cycle will turn out as well even though my gut is telling me that it is. I'm supposed to be on an off cycle which now just feels like wasting time.... ohhh infertility....

hopefuljj my heart just sank I'm so very sorry!! Its the worst feeling in the world! I thank g-d I was home when I got my results, I cried all day! I first want to say that I know you're concerned that you can't make a normal embryo, I of course felt the same way. However remember the following cycle I did finally get 2 normies back. I know right now it feels like the end of the world. Please hang in there and lets hope the next cycle will bring you normies!
My results were similar to urs, I had one that had an extra 12 and then missing a 7, and 13 and 8. I still want to have 2 of the 3 retested as I'd like to think they made an error. This is why I did back to back cycles.
Try and have a drink and take a minute for yourself, know this isn't it, its just a bump in the road. Sending big hugs your way!

Your words give me so much hope.
I was prepared to bank but I was hoping the first cycle would produce at least one good one to motivate me to keep going. I guess I had this idea in my head I would be able to have two children if I banked for a few cycles but the real goal should have been to have a shot at even one. Growing up and loosing my mom so young I always wondered what would have happened if I was an only child. My sister weren't even that close until we were adults but it made all the difference when we got older and close and started to actually deal with everything we went through....and I don't think DH would ever be talked into donor egg which really makes me panic. My brain is all over the place right now. I'm just going to have a glass of wine and try to chill my brain for a bit.

hopefuljj After my MC I then had the same thought as you, bank to have more then one child. I have siblings and never thought I would only have one child so I get it. I do have some friends that are only child and they have very good friends that are considered family....so we have to remember that too. I know your brain is going a mile a minute and i think you need to try and relax. Its good to have a plan but its also ok to just take a minute if you dont have everything planned out. You have options and for now just try and look to the next cycle and try to put this cycle behind you. Its hard not to be upset. I Still cry over the MC and my abnormal cycle, its hard not to so dont beat yourself up!

I definitely think it's worth trying again!! It wouldn't hurt to discuss with your DH what your thoughts were on next options just in case. Only bc I think it takes guys time to warm up to donor. My husband wasn't really that open to it last thanksgiving but after our failure in jan/feb and then watching me suffer thru delay after delay in mar/April, he was actually ready to move on before me. So it doesn't hurt to put the idea out there and of course I'll be praying you don't need to go there!

I have to second @JamieH2000 on that advice. You will know when its time to move on to other options and if your doctor is encouraging you to keep going I don't think its time yet. That being said, if you find yourself needing to consider DE IVF - once you start the research you will find that its a really beautiful option.

We met with two doctors this week who both agreed that DE was the best option for us to start a family. One of the doctors talked about it with such enthusiasm that I left feeling excited rather than sad. The game isn't over yet.

Thank you ladies!!!!!! I agree I should start the conversation with him soon....I have always held onto the idea that if I had a baby of my own genes I would be able to see a little bit of my mom in them and that is honestly what I would be mourning the most. I've just been telling myself for years that one day a tiny part of her would be back with me. So I need to really start emotionally separating from that as well to get myself prepared and in a place to be able to talk him into it;). In the meantime I willl continue to have hope for my next cycle:) I feel like this rest cycle is wasting so much time....but I guess I just need to remember that this entire journey is all about patience. Thank you laurad75! I am going to journey down that rabbit hole when I get home tonight:). I'm excited:).
My doctor is confusing the hell out of me, she is still asking me to reconsider retesting the embryos with the lab?! I got 2 5AA embryos and one 5BB. But as we know quality doesn't matter if they are chromosonally incorrect. Good grief. If it wasn't so expensive of course I would retest! But come on! For now she is asking the lab to not discard in case I change my mind.

@hopefuljj ***lurking***she may think a different lab would yield different results. Someone started a thread here about that and had a couple that tested abnormal at one clinic come back normal from another. That's a really tough position to be in. I wish I had known about that sooner; we would have discussed that possibility with our re and possibly not discarded the abnormal or at least considered retesting. Praying you have peace about this and that you are successful.

@k4214 oh how interesting! I just read this https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5011996/ which makes me feel so crazy. My Dr. wants me to retest at the same lab, which would take away from my total embryos I can test and with already having used 3 slots to get abnormal tests it's pretty concerning. I think I might call the lab and ask them what they think?! But I'm not sure what the point of that is either. So so confusing.

@hopefuljj Right?! You're not their yet so you should focus on your current treatment but I found that it was reassuring to know that if my current treatments weren't going to work than there were more options to consider.

Hi ladies! I have to be honest i'm getting a lil nervous after my US today, I'm taking all these extra vitamins and supplements this cycle and yet I wonder if they're hurting instead of helping. For 3 days of stemming my follies are certainly taking their time growing this cycle so who know if they are normal eggs growing. I'm gonna put the comparisons for you.

3 days ago Right had 1 at 7, & today was 3 at, 6, 6.5 and 8. In 3 days of meds the 7 went to an 8...that makes me un easy.
3 days ago Left had 6, 7 and 9. Today was 6.5, 9.5 and 11. For 3 days that shows really slow growth. Looking back at my files I haven't stemmed this slow in a while, Es went from a 42 to an 88 i think which RE is fine with but makes me a bit uneasy!

I know its quality over quantity for me BUT if only 2 eggs look ready, thats ALOT of money. I hate that i have to feel this way already! It kills my whole mood, I feel so down today. This cycle was suppose to be easy breezy and i feel like its been anything but!

I'm actually leaning to have my other abnormals retested, not that my RE suggested it BUT I think i'm gonna need to do it for me. What if they were wrong and I could move on...I dont know it could be all just a waste of money too BUT doing a full cycle of 2 eggs...I dont kno...

JamieH2000 hows your trip going, you'll have to share some pics from zion! I know you're right but this cycle I'm definitely developing a it slower, tomorrow will be an eye opener if theres more then 2 that can make this cycle. Yes its best to try and stay positive but dear lord its not easy!! I'm still on the fence on the PGS thing and I know my RE will not be in favor of it so i need to figure out how best to approach it with her.

Hi ladies! I had a special treat and my RE did my monitoring today - I mean what a surprise that was!! I told her I was a bit concerned and she felt like everything was fine as I usually progress late...I just reminded her that I think its a lil later then my usual. She still saw the 3 on the right but they didn't grow all that much in 2 days all still under 9. This was funny she's not sure if she saw 2 or 3 on the Left. The 2 on the left grew to 12 and 13.5 so i'm adding the cetritide tonight in hopes the smaller ones can catch up and keep growing with these two. The big concern is what if they dont!! My E2 did rise in the 200s now so have to hope on thursday my report will be ever better then that!! I have a feeling this is going to be my longest stemming cycle! Hoping all this cooking are making them super strong eggs!

Hi hopeful_mom! What is the longest you have ever stimmed for? I hope the smaller ones catch up!! I've got everything crossed for you to get some more normies out of this cycle!!! I'm not really versed in where the E2 numbers should be, if the E2 goes up does that usually mean you would see follicle growth?
I just caught up on what I missed in my absence, It's interesting that you were thinking about re-testing you abnormal embryos too! My Dr. is still pushing me to re-test:-/ good grief.
I should be starting Estrogen again around the 19th to prep for next cycle. I meet with the nurse to go over protocol on the 13th. Just anxious to get started again!

hopefuljj So I just did a little reviewing and cycle 3 where i got preggers with my twins i stemmed for 13 days and triggered on the 14. That cycle I started on Oct 31 and this cycle i started on May 31...SO I"m kind of hoping thats a sign of goodness and I"m going to have a good US in the AM. Just hoping this cycle doesn't turn into a wasted cycle as that would make me sad! Realizing that you're giving yourself shots for a full 2 weeks is not fun but at least its one week down, just want to see some growth from all of them together!
I think we were on so much about the retesting of your embryos, I dont remember the discussion on your protocol, are you keeping things the same?? Are you going to retest your embryos? I am still tempted but as i suspected my RE is not into it...

I have to say my US was anything but great - as I was expecting the 2 follies on the left are the only follies really cooperating they had a growth spert and are at 16 and 17, I have the ones on the right at 10 and 11....so its really not looking to great.. Why cant one cycle just go smoothly...I just dont know what i'm doing yet. Waiting to here from my RE see if my E2 went up BUT not sure what this will mean...

Oh hopeful_mom I'm so sorry, that is so frustrating! I'm so sorry you can't just get one easy/good cycle. So not cool. And what I mean by that really I guess is it is just so unfair!!
It's so crazy how you just never really know with this process where the "golden egg" is...so maybe it's still in one of those growing follies! At my clinic they play this video in the waiting room where all the RE's that work out of this office talk in it about why they became reproductive endocrinologists and memorable patients/scenarios etc and my RE tells the story of her one patient who was a poor responder but they decided one cycle to go for it anyway and she grew one follicle and they retrieved and fertilized it and that became her now 3 year old. I mean.....that's crazy but I guess it happens?!?!? I feel like she was steps away from canceling me when I only had two follicles but she did say that if she knew that is all I would ever get on a cycle it would be different but I was a new patient so this might just not be the best cycle to start on. As you know I ended up getting more and we moved forward. I don't think this is necessarily helpful info because I totally understand how disappointing it is that you just can't catch a break over here, but wanted to share for a touch of positivity/hope.

I find out about my protocol changes (if any) Monday when I talk to the nurse. Then in for Estrogen priming around the 19th.
Last cycle I stimmed 11 days and triggered in day 12.
As for retesting, she wants me to consider adding them to any embryos I get this time if I haven't fulfilled my 8 embryos to test.
i don't know how I feel about that because let's say (hope) I get 3 to test this coming cycle, if i retest those 3, I can only test 2 more before paying for another package and that as you know, that isn't cheap! And if I get all abnormal from the new round I will still be where I started with nothing to transfer.
Such a hard decision.

Thanks ladies, vacation was great!! Vegas was fun it expensive. Prob don't need to go back any time soon. We had more fun at Zion bc we just really enjoy the outdoors.

@hopeful_mom- gosh that is so frustrating!! I wouldn't know what to do either. Most of your eggs seem to make it to blast really well, but that is a lot of money to gamble on 2 follicles! I know you don't want to take a break but maybe your body is telling you it needs a month off

ok so after some acupuncture and another day on meds the right side has seemed to perk up a bit...I laugh at us low amh ladies and being old lets not forget that for me

I can count all my follies and have a close personal relationship with all of them

My right now has a 13.5 and 15, left 20.5 and 17.5 SO I'm still doing another day of stems, I dont want to lose the big one BUT last cycle the big one was empty and then the smaller one wasn't mature enough. I would just like to avoid that and get all 4 This round! My E2 is in the 400 zone so I might almost want to push for 2 more days of meds...but i get the feeling they will want to trigger me tomorrow. Lets hope the right one will get a nice boost and the left side will just hang out....I ask so much of my body dont i

okay ladies After more acupuncture and another day of meds my right side showed some improvements 18,14, left is 19, 20...tech measure differently so hoping that everything is ok still on the left. This is also the first time i split my meds and only put the gonalf on the right. At first I was just going to put all the meds on the right but my acupuncturist mentioned gonal f is stronger and to only use that on the side. HI DOC!! I've been doing this for how long now maybe you shouldve mentioned that to me at some point. I'd like to think it helped SO since my prog. is still at bay thank goodness I get to go for one my day of stemming and I believe tomorrow will be my trigger and then ER on monday. Praying I got 4 nice strong ones to go!!!

Oh yay hopeful_mom!!! That's great news! The miracles of acupuncture:).
It so crazy about which side to inject on! Do you think that's really true?! Injecting on the side growing slower makes those get more of the meds or something?! I felt like I should do more injections on the side that was doing worse during my stims but thought I was crazy for thinking it made a difference. Also my left side is really tricky so I hate injecting into it. I must have more arteries or something on that side cuz it's way more painful and bleeds more. That's the side I drew blood into the needle on. Anyway

hopefuljj hey! I know ur not stemming but i still consider you my stemming buddy

I triggered this evening and have ER too early Tuesday morning 7:30 am boooo! I feel like I never sleep the night before anyway so I guess it doesn't matter. This cycle I have had pain with injections and then some days barely any. I wish I could figure it out but I really just dont know! I will tell you that each cycle I really did every other side with injections. Always menupar first as that usually burns me the most, then gonal F and then cetritide! This truly was the first time I decided to inquire about it as I really only had 2 in the mix and going to ER for really only 2 showing was very stressful for me. Technically they say the meds are making the rounds and dividing evenly in ur system BUT I have to say my Right side grew more the 2 days i only put the gonal f on that right side. I'm glad I asked and decided to go for it. I'm even glad I asked about taking the extra dosage just try and get a lil more growth for the smaller ones so really hoping I made the right calls on this stuff! As for the bleeding even that changes constantly its crazy! Speaking of blood my veins have been awful this week and the nurses have had a hell of a time getting blood from me and I've got the war wounds to prove it!!

AND I want to add that I did get 3 or 4 sessions of acupuncture in this round and that couldve helped too...I kno it didn't hurt

As much as i'm not a fan of it I do think that I need it.

Are you sitting this cycle out once AF arrives?

Hopeful_mom Sometimes I think doing things that shouldn't make a difference actually DO if we believe that it will! So I say the medicine on the side that needs it the most trick is a great one to have!
I have my appointment with the nurse today to order meds for the next cycle. should start E priming around the 19th. I wonder if they will change anything or keep me on my same protocol. I don't want to go up in dose on the menopur only because I have read so much about that affecting the division process leading to abnormal embryos. I was in such a low dose of menopur, (75iu, that's low right?) which is the one I have read to be cautious of, and I sill had all abnormal so I worry.
Have you tried drinking a tall glass of water before your blood draws?! I swear it makes a world of difference for me. Plumps the veins right up even if I drink it right before I sit down for the blood draw.

Wishing you so much luck tomorrow morning!!! Here's hoping 7:30 am is just the perfect hour for an ER:). Early bird catches the worm right?!? Lol. Oh how this process makes us have to try and put a positive spin on all the crappy things we go through!

hopefuljj So I learned something new today - and didn't even think of asking this question sooner. This is in regards to my follies and placement. Apparently I was injecting the wrong side...I swear no one pays attention when I talk WTH!! I told my acupuncture the size of my follies right and left however I learned today that the machine says right but its really the left and vs versa. Is that possible I guess didn't think much about it and then I gave the wrong side the extra dosage of med

ugh this process!!! I guess this means its really working through my blood and getting to the right eggs! Just annoying for me, as I'm clearly explaining my results BUT I was pointing to the left when saying the left. I feel more confused then before and really hoping I dont have to go through it again! Looking forward to getting this over with tomorrow!!
As for the menupar where did you read that? I can't imagine that to be right as my RE prescribes 4 powders and I did get a normie. I know your frustrated and trying to figure out the WTF happened as we all do - but I dont think it was the meds...if it is then they need new meds to use

Drink water off and on and do make the effort I just think for this cycle my body is done and doesn't want to deal with anymore poking! Glad you're ready to get started and hoping all will go smoothly!

As for my abnormal embryos, I do not think it was the meds at all, I just didn't want to do a higher dose because I figure if I already have all bad eggs, and there is a slight chance high dose LH/hCG-containing meds could make my issue worse I just got worried. I read it here but I really don't fully believe anything I read! I think it's just all different for everyone, you know? And sometimes Dr. Sher writes things and I'm like, show me the research buddy;)

@hopefuljj- that's only like 1 week away and I really think this second cycle will go better!! Can't wait to hear!! I'm just waiting on our first choice donor to be available, hopefully I'll hear more in the next 2-3 weeks. So hard to be patient but it's much easier to keep busy in summer!
