Re: 6 month check in
M dropped a lot on the growth chart and the nurses laid in on the mom guilt and tried to get me to start waking him up MOTN. To me M seemed super healthy. He was growing. He was hitting all his mile stones. He was super alert and happy. So I didn't listen. I did go get a second opinion (only because needles are done by nurses here so I brought him to my family dr who has been my dr my whole life, literally. She delivered me). But sometimes we just have small babies. Someone has to be low on the curve!! It's not abnormal it's just his normal and that's okay too.
And just an FYI I feel like M had gained a TONNE since we started giving breakfast and supper.
if you're worried about the formula maybe just try adding a couple meals. I know it's hard at first but it's insane how fast they gain once they start eating.
Also I understand the guilt of your body not doing what it is supposed to. I really wanted to BF and I tried so hard for the first week. It turned out LO was literally getting nothing from me. I could only produce about 5-10 mL and I had to work for almost an hour to get that. I was told I needed to FF and I could still pump and feed whatever breast milk I could get. I cried so much, and felt like such a failure, but I had to play the hand I was dealt. I chose to EFF. The most I ever got was 1 oz and that was once I decided to stop, after a couple days of not doing anything. I'm still sad about it sometimes, but so happy my LO is thriving and doing well. I made peace with my decision. It did take us about 3 months to finally find a formula that worked for her. What ever decision you make, you got this!

TTC#2 April 2019today, 25th
height/weight/clothing size? two weeks ago, she was 7.5kg (~17lb i think) mostly 9 mo-12 mo clothes
milestones? she rolls around and moves around somehow, like all the time. she can mostly sit unassisted
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)?
she chews everything she finds, loves especially chewing the tags on toys or anything she finds. she loves screaming and talking
what is your biggest challenge? still her low apetite for bottled express milk, i keep pumping and freezing milk. it was good to hear that your LOs also didnot gain much weight recently. she gained less then 2 lbs in these two months and i was worrying even though her dr thought it was great.
But you got this far, and as what I've read he's an active little boy, I've seen my LO very lifeless when she didn't get enough to eat in the beginning so trust your mum instinct that he is doing well!
There have to be babies under the average (and some above) otherwise the average isn't the average anymore.
He'll catch up!
Just keep looking at how he is actively and follow your guts. You've got this!

TTC#2 April 2019At the night of day 9 I couldn't get my LO to wake up so I freaked out and knew something was wrong. I then started giving her ff and pumped, but as a single mum I could not keep up on 5 min sleep and I only pumped 1,5 oz during a whole day.
My LO has cowsmilk allergy so people are harsh to say 'you should have breastfed her' which hurts a lot (and wouldn't have made a difference as she would get cowsmilk through me as it is in almost all food)
Thats an interesting read though, I'll definitely keep that in mind if I dare to go for another baby as there are a few similarities in there. Thx for sharing @m6agua.

Ive tried about 5 different ones to find one that works for my LO.

We knew something was wrong on her 4th day/night. Her mouth was so dry and chapped and she wasn't producing wet diapers so we went to the ER and they said she was hungry but not yet dehydrated. We had just had her tongue and lip tie clipped that day so we thought maybe it had to do with that. then at a week old we got in with the LC and found out I wasn't producing and my milk never really "came in". I'm still sad about it once in a while.

TTC#2 April 2019height/weight/clothing size? 16 lb, 25.5" today at his 6 month check. Moved all the way up to 25% in weight but height is still 10%. Clothes are 3-6 with some 0-3 still there
milestones? Rolls over to belly and likes to scoot around on his belly and can sort of get where he wants to go. Just discovered his feet recently. Not sitting up yet
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? Still likes his blue Eric Carle elephant the best and he got a ball with a rattle inside that he seems to like now. Like Buddy the Elf, smiling is his favorite.
what is your biggest challenge? Being the only real caregiver at home; he's also had some sleep regression issues so I hope that gets resolved because I need sleep badly
As my LO is starting to eat foods I have to be careful what I give her and try small bites first to see how she reacts as their could be more hidden allergies.
Its nice (not for you, but for my own sanity) that you EBF and have a LO with allergy. My doctor keeps telling me she'd have it either way, but I haven't met anyone that did EBF with allergy, so thought I messed up.
Im lucky to get the formula refunded as it is indeed ridiculous expensive!

when did your LO turn 6 months? May 25th
height/weight/clothing size? 28" & 20lbs... STILL. Those were his 4mo stats too. He's rockin the 12 mo clothes.
milestones? Rolling like whoa and pushing himself across the floor, sliding his face on the floor the entire time. He's also babbling and grabbing everything in sight. And our first tooth!
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? Grabbing everything - his toys, his sister's toys, food, phones, lotion bottles. You name it, he has it and it's more than likely in his mouth. He also loves his exersaucer and stacking cups.
what is your biggest challenge? Two kids and a full time job, so I guess life. I don't do much for me. In fact I don't remember the last thing I did for myself and just for myself (not to mention by myself). I wouldn't change it for the world though.

I have kept with the Enfamil for my guy and he isn't spitting up much anymore. He must have just needed to adjust!
height/weight/clothing size? 25.25 inches,15lbs 4oz, 9 month clothes
milestones? sitting up, saying "hi" and "mama", blowing raspberries, starting solids
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? she likes knocking over blocks, chewing on teething bracelets, trying to grab the dog, and splashing in the bath
what is your biggest challenge?
She is a "happy spitter" sometimes spitting up as much as 25 times in her 9 waking/ not eating hours. It makes going out in public very difficult... which is lonely. She's also an extremely light sleeper which makes napping on the go difficult as well. Luckily, she's a very happy and fun kiddo.
Edited:spelling
When I do go out I usually bring two extra outfits for her, an extra shirt for me, 2 bibs, and two burp clothes. I really ought to bring paper towels too for the ones that hit the floor. Any tips, or things I'm missing?

when did your LO turn 6 months? June 2
height/weight/clothing size? 15 lb 2 oz. 26.5". He's in 15th for weight and 50th for height. So a pretty skinny little guy! Clothes are 3-6 mostly. Can still fit in some 0-3 haha.
milestones? Rolling both ways now and sitting for maybe 30 seconds at a time.
what are LO's favourite things (toys, activities, etc)? Sophie!! And this weird octopus thing.
what is your biggest challenge? MOTN wake ups. He's good at putting himself to sleep for naps and bedtime but not MOTN. Still nursing twice at night which I'm fine with because he's little but there's also sometimes extra wakeups and I'm ready for those to stop somehow...
