Entered the 3rd trimester Friday and my body is gifting me with swollen feet/ankles, exhaustion, feeling huge, and overall like my skin is too small for my body.
My swelling in my feet is getting better, but my poor hands are not. I think I have a bit of carpal tunnel, and my knuckles are really swollen. I can get the swelling down in my fingers to get my rings up to the knuckle but then I cant get them over it! I am really worried about getting them off, and kicking myself for not taking them off like a month ago!
Is it true that If I have a c-section, they will cut off my rings, if I cant get them off??

@littlebug2010 I've never heard that, but I left all my jewelry at home just in case. I just took mine off. Can you try getting your hand really cold or maybe using lotion or something to get them off?
This has been happening for a while, but has gotten worse in the past few weeks. I'm having major middle/upper back pain on my right side. It's only when I sit down though. When I stand/talk or lay down it's fine. Has anyone gone to prenatal massage or seen a chiropractor that could help with something like this?
@SouthernMama15 and @PinkPrincessPiper Thanks! I was reading what to expect, and they said that I would most likely have to have them cut off if I had a c-section, and I panicked a little. I know rings can be repaired, but I really dont want to have to deal with that on top of a new born! Also @SouthernMama15 I have heard of that trick, and plan to use it if I cant get them off soon, just becuase I have to get them inspected. The swelling has seemed to get better and better each day, so Im hoping that after a bit more rest this week, I might be able to slide them off with some lotion!

I have a friend who just HAD to have her rings on for her maternity shoot so she put them back on and could not get them off for anything. She did have a csection and I'm not sure when but her rings were cut off. She may have had them cut off before she even went to the hospital but I'm not sure. If you're worried about them being stuck, I'd get them off asap.

My poor feet were beautifully bony again over the weekend with the cool weather and me not having anywhere to go! Sad that I'll have to watch them puff back up this week. As far as the rings I was just looking at pandora rings to find a bigger sized simple band to wear in lieu of my wedding set so they don't get stuck.
@bumpybump Thanks for the advice! I really want them to be on for my photos, but I would hate to have to cut them off, I just dont think its worth the risk. I have my OB appointment this week, so I am going to check with her about cutting off, and if thats what they do I will be doing the string trick later that day to get them off. Luckily, my fingers have started to get back to normal size this week, so im hoping I might be able to get them off with out the string too.
@cmmiller531 Thats such a good idea. I hate the idea of not wearing any of my rings (I have 3), so I might just have to go get myself a larger ring to wear as a replacement!

@littlebug2010 re: larger replacement ring. My friend did that- at the time she was pregnant she was living a few states away so I rarely saw her. She owns a small gold engagement ring and had replaced it with a blingy platinum halo number. I was all, "holy shit new ring??"but she said it was costume jewelry from Macy's. From a polite distance she had me fooled!
@DeansGirl14 my rings are getting a bit tight at certain times of day, so as it heats up I am sure i will get a 'fake' and while my ring is exactly what I wanted, I plan to get something fun and different as this is the only time I will get/want to do that. Maybe I will go for some crazy 'upgrade'.
TW: 1 infant loss 8/17: Our daughter was born 8/18: Our daughter kicked open heart surgery ass 2/19: We lost our son to Prader-Willi/Paradoxical Vocal Cord/ Noonans at 6wks old 4/26/2020: EDD for baby #3!!!
Back pain here and there, charley horse cramps, and still the ugly varicose veins on left calf. Been elevating my legs at work and wearing my ugly compression stockings (and it's hot outside!!).
my last pregnancy with DS (2014) I had shingles on my left upper thigh around this time, crossing fingers I don't get it again! That was HORRIBLE!
I'm getting so worn out. I finally did a wardrobe overhaul where I cleaned all the clothes that don't fit out of my closet and went through my summer clothes for things that might fit (a handful of really drapey tank tops!) Just getting in and out of the clothes was tiring, and then I dragged boxes of the clothes downstairs and was down for the count for hours. I'm assuming this is just going to get worse.
My rings were also getting way too tight and uncomfortable to wear and I was afraid that soon I wouldn't be able to take them off. So I went to Target last weekend and bought a set that looks super real and will last through the rest of my pregnancy. My friend even complimented me this past weekend on my "upgrade". Ha, totally fooled her. The set was $14.99 and totally worth it!
I just went and bought a set of like 5 gold bands from Old Navy to hold me over (I'm only wearing one lol, they only come in sets of multiples). I hate not having "my" rings on though!
I'm feeling 1st trimester tired. Slept from 10ish last night to 10:45 this morning, and could've slept longer but I made myself get up. And now I could take a nap.
Also, convinced this child is trying to break out of jail with her kicks! Impressed with the elasticity of my amniotic sac!
I wear mine around my neck, on a necklace. Easier than worrying about them getting stuck and the the idea of not having them at all! I stopped wearing my rings on my finger about a month ago! This Oklahoma heat makes my hands and feet swell fast!

I am also in the aches and pains camp. I have this joint pain that just seems to migrate from wrist to hip to ankle to back, etc. etc. I guess I should feel lucky it is only one place at a time that is really tender? My feet have been killing me too, but my orthopedic oofos flip flops have been lifesavers. I just wish DH was more generous with the foot rubs.
I also just finished nursing DD2 a month ago and my breasts have had quite a growth spurt since then. I figured since I was already in nursing mode and larger than my default size that not much would change. They feel so hard and like I just want to nurse something! I tried to manually express to see if that helped at all, but there was nothing ready to go. I'm looking forward to nursing this LO, but dreading those first few days of milk coming in if I feel this full with no milk.
And when it was warm here for a few days last week I definitely got some chafing from my bigger chest near my armpits. Guess I'm okay with it staying cooler for longer!
Soooo, I thought my water broke last night. Except I was sure it was pee (I do have a history of pprom) and this morning when I woke up I was leaking and very badly cramping. Went to the hospital, turns out I have a bacterial infection! I was so happy it wasn't ruptured membranes, but I'm wondering if this is what all my pelvic pain has been about!
Because of high bp last time around I've been taking my bp a couple times a week.
Does anyone know....my bp sky rockets when I'm working (I walk a lot) and it always comes back down after sitting for a while. I put a call in to my doctor to see if I should be concerned at all and waiting for a call back. Anyone know?
If I've been walking (not even strenuously...just normal walking) it hits 130/95. But then after rest it seems to calm down. Do I need to worry about that at all?
Last time it shot up at 35 weeks. They sent me straight to bed rest. I really want to avoid that but realize it's not my choice.
@belmont1785 this happened to me during my first pregnancy and they eventually took me out of work. I would drink a lot of water and make sure you take it if you're not feeling well (headache etc) that data will help the doctor when you go in!
@belmont1785 the blood pressure pump I have says to wait an hour after eating/drinking and showering. I've been doing it first thing in the morning and mines been fine. Maybe try first thing in the morning before doing anything.
Thanks Guys. It's always normal at night and in the morning but it peaks bad anytime I'm walking etc. It's like my body doesn't like doing anything but rest.
Other moms told me that Baby would start kicking the ribs (my good friend has a rib permanently out of whack from one of her son's jabs) but I didn't know it would feel like this. It's like she's playing on my ribs like they're monkey bars. It's causing the "kind of need to barf but not really" feeling in my esophagus too. I keep standing up at my desk because it seems squishing her via sitting is making it worse.
Today I not only had some delicious hot flashes (I started sweating, which lead to chaffing, which led to me being a rey of sunshine!), but I had an allergic reaction to something I ate. It was quite the eventful day for me!
