Re: May IUI

  • @JaeJayStark - My SHG was normal. Hopefully if I need an HSG it won't feel much different.

  • @JaeJayStark and @dmo1371 Thanks! Yeah, I'm also dubious about the practicality of doing the IUI tomorrow but I asked and was told my RE thinks it will be fine. Because DH has MFI, I don't think TI would work anyway (mostly it would have been just something to do) and DH managed to sort his schedule out so we go in at 7:15 tomorrow morning. I wish I could jump him tonight for some pre-IUI TI. It's so weird I O'd so early. I've always had to trigger in my last four IUIs. Definitely unexpected. I did come in for my baseline and started letrozole on CD 4, but I've done that in the past with no problem. Oh well. I'm not going to hold out much hope for this cycle, and I'll go in on CD 3 for our last IUI in June.

@JaeJayStark Those are fantastic numbers! Good luck with your IUI tomorrow!!!
  • Good luck to everyone still in the game this month. AF arrived this morning, so I'm out. Taking a month off, then on to IVF.

Now if you'll excuse me, there is a couch, television, and bottle of wine with my name in it.

    FX for all of you!!
  • So sorry to hear that @megmac2010 ! I will go to IVF if this cycle doesn't work so we'd be in it together.

Hey girls! Now I can join this thread too :) I started clomid yesterday on CD4. I'm so glad I didn't have any cyst. But, the nurse said I have 11 small follicles which I never seen on the previous baseline ultrasounds. Now, I'm afraid I will over stimulate have too many follicles and they will cancel this cycle :(
  • @Ilky Yay!! So glad to have you back! Think positive thoughts...maybe the follicles before were so small that they were hard to pick up :)

  • @Ilky I predict that 3 will take over and you'll be ready on CD 12 :)

AFM, just got back from my IUI. I got my lucky nurse! 82 Million motile sperm. Do you guys know what your concentration is usually? Our was super high this time at 240 million.

@JaeJayStark @kristimh80 lol you girls are funny! Well I'm scheduled to go on CD12 for an ultrasound. If the follies are ready then I'll get the trigger shot. Last cycle I got triggered on CD14, so we'll see.

@JaeJayStark can you also predict whether this is the cycle that I finally get my BFP?????? :) jk.
  • @Ilky I'm so glad you were able to start your medicated cycle! IIRC, 11 small follies at the start of a cycle is fairly normal, but definitely ask if you're concerned. :-) I'll join in the guessing game and say you'll get 3 mature. Yay!

@JaeJayStark Hooray for fantastic numbers! FX for success!

AFM IUI #5 is complete, although I still think the timing was poor. Oh well. DH had good numbers for him and the doctor was pleased (59 million total, 7.7 million total motile). I'm glad his months of clomid are yielding improved results. @JaeJayStark normally they just tell me the total motile, but this RE showed me the concentration and percent, which I appreciated. I wonder why some doctors do and some don't. Hmmm.
  • @Ilky - Yay for no cysts. FX you have no more than a few dominant follicles at your next ultrasound!

@JaeJayStark - I don't think I got told/shown concentration. They just told me total sperm and total motile sperm I think. FX for you!!

    @Bababatty - FX for you!

  • IlkyIlky member
They tell me to lay for 10 mins and raise the table right under my hip. But I usually stay there 15-20 mins. Ask your doctor the next time. But, I feel like it doesnt really make any difference.
  • J1006J1006 member
@JaeJayStark. Mine had me lay down with my hips up for 15-20 minutes afterward. She also said no intercourse for 24 hours but that's because we used donor sperm.

Just had my u/s. To put in the exact words of my doctor, you have a big juicy one right there! Haha. I have three follicles. One measuring at 23, one at 20, the other one smaller. She said my lining looks really good and thick. I read online to drink pomegranate juice from CD 1-13 to increase lining. Who knows maybe it made a difference. Definitely feeling more optimistic about this round than the last round. I trigger tonight and IUI is Thursday morning

@dmo1371 Good eye I am an RN! But I work in a cardiac/neuro/surgical step-down unit so this is all foreign territory. I'm re-living my nursing school anatomy/physiology days looking up all these meds and treatments. I had to tell the nurses at the RE clinic to just treat me like a really stupid patient because otherwise they tend to just skim over stuff. I don't want them to assume I know what I'm doing and forget something important!
@JaeJayStark My clinic has you sit there for around ten minutes lying flat, but they don't elevate your hips. Torture with a full bladder.

I was doing great with the TWW, but now I have three days off and I'm sitting around stewing. Luckily we have people coming over tonight so I have to clean my house, which will keep me occupied.

@Bababatty. I'm all for these little things that might not make a difference but don't hurt to try. Just be careful that you get pure pomegranate juice not like a cocktail juice that's loaded with sugar. I bought the Pom brand. Only one cup per day. I mixed it in with a smoothie or water.

@kristimh80   GL to you! Hopefully this is the lucky cycle with your four follicles!!
