Is anyone doing an all injectables cycle this month? I usually do femara & follistim combo, but this month have been boosted to follistim only. Didn't know if any had any experience with only injectables and if they helped?

@catherine0927 good news!! I just received a call from my RE saying they are canceling this cycle cause the 19mm follicle is on the blocked side. I'm kinda sad cause this would have been my first IUI now it's back to waiting. I did have a follicle scan and they said I had a 13.4 and a 12.9 on open side but said those probably won't catch up. Told us to try naturally.
@Bababatty I just did my first round of clomid too and had no side effects but the drying up of the CM, which makes it difficult if you are trying to BD.Sadly my IUI was cancelled yesterday after my follicle scan.
@kristimh80 and @J1006 we are back in the same sh!tty boat together I'm negative today. My cycles are pretty long so I bet we will have our IUIs together again. FX for this month. Last month sucked for most people so maybe this one will be better.
IUI number: 2 (with femara + trigger) Date of planned IUI: Friday 5/12 Test date: I'll probably test 7dpo to see if the trigger is out of my system then we'll see how I feel once it is. It was out by 8dpo last month and it was hard to see BFNs every day so I might wait longer. My RE office doesn't do betas unless you get a BFP.
I don't exactly have a green thumb and don't even know the names of a lot of plants flowers so yeah... I'd have to look at pictures and figure it out!
I intro'd 2-3 weeks ago and didn't get any replies on my thread, so I'm hoping to get to know more people here. I had an ultrasound Thursday that showed 1 11mm follicle on the R. Today I had another ultrasound and I had an 8mm on the R and 15mm on the L. My RE said the one on the L should be mature for me to trigger Thursday and IUI Friday. I'm a little nervous about triggering without knowing the follicle grew, but maybe that is common? I hope he's right. Last cycle with the same dose I had a 19mm follicle sooner than this. Frustrating.

@dmo1371 FX for you! I was a slow grower with femara and could only get 1 dominant follicle on a combo cycle. Hopefully your 15mm grows good for you!

@Irisheyes81@kristimh80 Hopefully May will be nicer to us than April was. Took me a little while to get over last cycle not working. DH and I went into things trying not to get our hopes up, but it was still rough. Starting meds tomorrow. We are really busy this month so hopefully this TWW will go quicker than the last one.
I'm not even able to join you guys this month. My progesterone was over 20 on 14dpiui so i need to wait for it to come down to get my period. Last cycle it took me 5 days! To make things worse, I'm traveling out of town for work and am going to stay over the weekend to see my friend. So, if the witch shows up before saturday, I'll be missing the baseline ultrasound on Day 3. Thats sucks They told me they wont prescribe clomid before verifying that there is no cyst. The following month might also not work for timing, so I will waste two more months (maybe it will happen naturally, but i dont want to even have intercourse with my husband. Sad!) I'm pissed and upset at this whole thing. Also, so tired of everyone around me (mostly coworkers who know my situation) to talk about their kids constantly! And, my closest coworker is pregnat. To her third child! Ugg. I'm just sour old woman!!
@Ilky - ugh. Hang in there. You are not a sour old woman! And like, even if you are sometimes, I'm right there with you. Earlier today, I told DH I hated everyone except him, and the dog, and the cat. In that order.
But seriously, when I told my clinic I had plans to go out of town and that I wasn't sure about the baseline timing, they were so accommodating! Like: "One of the clomid pills is fine, or maybe we can fit you in earlier." I think it's worth talking to them, and seeing what they can do. Hopefully something!
@Ilky Awe don't lose hope! Definitely call your doctor and see if there is anything you can do under the circumstances.

Getting an appointment is not a problem, its just my doctor said they can't do anything about it. Maybe if i make it there by CD 4, which is Monday, then they can start me one day later. i even asked to take clomid without the ultrasound and that i would only take one or two days before getting one, they still said no. Anyways, everything happens for a reason. i didn't even get my period yet Was thinking last night, maybe I'll do unmedicated IUI. I mean why not, right? I ovulate on my own anyway. It will be just extra help. I guess we'll see...
Turns out the IUI will be today, follicles were smaller at my day 13 appointment than they were last time, so I did a trigger shot that night. Just lurking around my house waiting to get it over with. It's so weird that on the same medication regimen things can develop at a different rate month to month.
@Ilky That's a good way to think about it, esp if you ovulate on your own! My dr doesn't think I always do because there's too many eggs in reserve, but if I were you under the circumstances...it can't hurt

Hi Ladies! Just got back from a much needed quick vacation. CD 11. HSG tomorrow.
You guys are freaking me out about the HSG. I know there are horror stories out there but some of you saying it was the worst pain is shaking me up. I am hoping others can share that it wasn't so bad. J1006 Thank you for saying it wasn't too bad!
dmo1371 it seems pretty normal that the RE makes an estimate on what day to trigger without doing another ultrasound. For us, each US costs money so they try to reduce costs that way. Follies grow 1-2mm a day.
moni2016 sorry that your good follie is on the blocked side. I bet that is terribly frustrating.
@Bababatty I am so sorry about that added stress. That seems so silly!

@JaeJayStark I had a hysteoscopy before my HSG test that was the worse pain I ever felt I almost passed out. The HSG was a breeze compared to that. It was a little uncomfortable but only when they pushed in the fluid but nothing more than menstrual cramps. I was scared BC a lot of people said it was the worse pain ever but for me it wasn't. I took ibiprophin an hour before I had it done.

@jaejaystark My HSG felt exactly the same as a pap smear. I had a second of mild cramping when the tube was inserted through my cervix (same feeling as when they swab my cervix during a pap), and then nothing. I didn't feel the dye at all and there was no pressure for me. I didn't feel them take the tube out either. And I didn't have any discomfort afterwards.
I say if a pap smear is no big deal for you, the HSG won't be either.

@JaeJayStark it's not that bad! They use duck lips and insert a catheter, which you've done before. The only thing that is uncomfortable is when they inject the dye, and it was maybe 15 seconds of sharp cramps.
When i I had mine done, they didn't get a good image the first time, and they injected another round of dye. It is uncomfortable, but really not that bad! You got this!
@JaeJayStark My HSG barely hurt! I was so scared to do it but it really was only a moment of cramping. I would rate it as a moderate period cramp. The only weird part was that the pain was really sudden, not the slow ramping up that you would have on your period. But it was so brief, and then afterwards I felt perfectly fine again.
@Ilky Sorry about all the timing issues. This might be a dumb question but, can they limit the progesterone suppositories so that the numbers drop? It sucks that your cycles are long because of that! Fertile people suck.

@Ilky Ugh, I'm so sorry to hear that your RE's office is not being flexible at all. My RE's office does baseline monitoring Days 2-5. I'm wondering why some offices chose a range and others insist on Day 3. I'm always fascinated to see the different techniques and procedures different offices use.
@dmo1371 Welcome! I think generally follicles continue to grow, usually at a certain rate, which is why the doctors feel confident giving an estimate of when to do the IUI even if they don't do an u/s immediately before. As for the differences between the two cycles even on the same dose, I think it just depends on your body. My first two letrozole cycles I had two mature follicles, this last one (same dose) I just had one. Don't worry, though. I think it sounds like you're doing well.
It was nice reading about people's different experiences and I am sending best wishes everyone's way. After 2 years we got some good news that his SA went way up on count and everything else, too. We can now try IUI instead of IVF and my insurance covers most of it. Yay!
This will be our first try and I am supposed to start my cycle around May 24 and will then start Letrozole. So I will probably have it around June 7-10ish but there was no June board up yet. I'm excited but nervous about the medication side effects and keeping my game face on at work while I'm taking them. I hope I don't cry at work in front of people but what can you do?
As far as gardening, we live in an apartment in NYC so I'd be lucky to have a patch of astroturf. I have some succulents including an aloe plant. But unlike my mother, who grows the most gorgeous garden, I don't think I have a green thumb. I go between over and under watering and they always seem to do okay for a while but then the leaves get fried from too much sun. Hopefully this won't be a metaphor for the way my lady garden will or won't flourish
Hope everyone is having a good Thursday. Any newbie tips are appreciated.
IUI number: Number 1, hopefully! (Praying & crossing fingers!) Date of planned IUI: Exact timing is unknown as it will depend on how I've responded to meds when I go in this Sunday for monitoring - My first BW and US since Letrozole 5 mg (increased from 2.5 last cycle with a different specialist which resulted in 0 measurable follies) If it doesn't appear that I'm responding as desired, my doctor has said she may add injectables at that time. Test date: N/A
I'll be honest, gardening is not my thing. I try, but I just don't have a green thumb. I'm going to attempt a vegetable garden again this summer. Last summer it was incredibly hot and most everything died. I'll be giving it another shot this year! We'll see how it goes!
Welcome, @greenhillgirl and @stephanie34-2! @greenhillgirl, I think it's totally fine for you to chill here while waiting for a June board. I'd say you could also start one if you wanted, but I expect it wouldn't be too active for a bit so this is better. :-) My H also had MFI problems and we just got him into the normal range after 6 months of clomid for him. It's terribly exciting to be able to do IUI and actually have some hope it will work, so I understand where you're coming from! We also live in NYC and all our plants die. But for some reason all plants in my office thrive, haha.
@stephanie34-2 I hope you get a better response with letrozole this time!
AFM, CD 12, I leave home in an hour to do my HSG, get a follicle check, and followup with RE to talk about next steps. I hope the HSG goes quickly and pain free. Thank you ladies for helping me feel more at ease about the procedure. My IUIs and paps are just uncomfortable so hopefully this won't be bad either. Oh the unknown.

I do great on cutting caffeine during my days off, and then somewhere during my twelve hour shift I find my way to the coffee! Which has led to a lot of obsessive googling about exactly what caffeine levels are ok, which I can't find a good answer on. At least it's better than every day?
@kjeann It happens, I'm sure I'll fall off the caffeine wagon a couple times! From what I read....a cup or 2 doesn't hurt, I just saw success stories where that was the #1 think they cut out so figured it was worth a shot.

Someone mentioned about having an HSG. The doctor that did mine was great (now my RE actually). I can't say it was pleasant by any means but I took two Aleve before the procedure and I made it through. My tubes were open though so that could have helped. It felt like horrible period cramps for a matter for seconds and then it was over, definitely manageable. I hope this helps

Welcome to the group! It's a good one!
Good luck kjeann!
Ilky sorry for the bad news. That is so not fair.
moni2016 sorry that your good follie is on the blocked side. I bet that is terribly frustrating.
@Bababatty I am so sorry about that added stress. That seems so silly!

When i I had mine done, they didn't get a good image the first time, and they injected another round of dye. It is uncomfortable, but really not that bad! You got this!
@kristimh80 I'm glad you got some rest and feel better. Blah is a good word. It takes longer and longer to move to the next and have confidence. Glad we are in it together.

@kjeann I hope your IUI went well yesterday!
Date of planned IUI: Exact timing is unknown as it will depend on how I've responded to meds when I go in this Sunday for monitoring - My first BW and US since Letrozole 5 mg (increased from 2.5 last cycle with a different specialist which resulted in 0 measurable follies) If it doesn't appear that I'm responding as desired, my doctor has said she may add injectables at that time.
Test date: N/A
I'll be honest, gardening is not my thing. I try, but I just don't have a green thumb. I'm going to attempt a vegetable garden again this summer. Last summer it was incredibly hot and most everything died. I'll be giving it another shot this year! We'll see how it goes!

TW (maybe, baby shower mentioned)
so tomorrow there is a baby shower for a girl at my work. An email went out today to bring a dish to pass and/or a gift. I usually avoid baby showers, but this one is literally down the hall from my room at work and I don't want to be labeled the school b***h for not getting her a gift. Ugh!

Love to garden! We have a veggie garden and a herb garden. Our pole beans have just started to sprout, they are my favorite to watch climb every year!
Good luck to everyone this month!
