38 weeks and 4, 3 cm dilated and 75 percent effaced Dr joked she was on call this weekend and we might be seeing her. I'm not getting my hopes up since I walked around at 3 then 4 cm for a while
Had my 38wk checkup this morning. Overall it went well. Also declined the cervix check. For the first time in over a month she didn't check if he was still head down. Now well see if I make it to the 39 week checkup
I had my 39w3d appointment today - did a cervix check. I'm at a "very tight" 1 cm, and doctor couldn't do a membrane sweep. Due date is on Monday - hoping baby comes soon otherwise I will be waiting until May 15th for an induction. I am more bummed than I thought I would be. I just keep repeating to myself....just means baby needs more time and anything can happen.

boooo I SO feel you. How come she couldn't do a sweep?? I'm asking for one tomorrow and going to be so bummed if she cant.

If your cervix is too posterior the provider can't reach it for a sweep. This happened to me for both DD1 and DD2. My OB would try and it was awful. My cervix was just never anterior until I was in active labor for some reason.

had another fluid check today that showed a decrease to 5, dr was concerned enough to pull me in for an NST, which of course had non-reactive baby. My dr. happened to be on call at the hospital and did a direct admit for prolonged monitoring and she scheduled a C for tomorrow - thankfully the prolonged monitoring showed a very reactive baby and Dr. released me home for the time being and cancelled the C.
For now we monitor closely and I've been instructed to stay within 20 minutes of hospital just in case. Since my commute to work is 1.5 hours I'm officially working from home until delivery!
Appt this morning...39 weeks 5 days. She barely gave me 2 cm dilated and was just like "ok well, see ya next week." I literally had to stop her from walking out the door to see what next steps are and see about scheduling induction. I hate when I've waited for 45 min and they rush out of the appt...especially when I have questions! Rant over. They will call me with an induction date...at least there is an end in sight but hoping he comes sooner.
Just left the plastic surgeon. There was talk last week of removing a drain this week but he decided not to because I still have too much output. But they're both coming out next week!
He also filled my expander up a bit. I don't know if I've explained this process before, but basically when you get a mastectomy they take so much skin they can't just put an implant in afterwards. During surgery they put a tissue expander in, which is like a balloon that he'll fill with saline gradually. The goal is to slowly stretch out the skin until there's enough that he can put an implant in, which happens in a second surgery called an exchange. He put quite a bit of saline in at the time of surgery but today was my first post-surgery fill. It. Was. So. Weird. And my boob is huge now! And because it's just skin covering a balloon of saline it's really perky which makes my other boob look saggy by comparison.
Between my giant belly and one giant stretched out boob I feel like I might burst or spring some sort of leak somewhere. I'm lovely.
@RainyDays86 You are lovely! I'm glad the expander is filled up so you're ready for the implant. Is there a date for that? Sorry no drains came out today, but better to let that output keep flowing. Was it a good visit overall? @MTB16 I'm glad you didn't have to get an immediate c-section. I hope everything goes well for you from here out. And yay for working from home!
@RainyDays86 I'm sure I even remember what perky boobs are like lol
Had my weekly appt. dr told me I'm negative for strep. Said my discomfort is regular based off of where she is, and that I should feel better once she drops a bit. Fingers crossed she does soon
@jayandaplus oh I'm not done being filled. They need to fill extra to have room to work with and because I'm having radiation they need even more skin because radiation can cause issues with reconstruction so I'm going to have an absolutely massive, weirdly perky hard boob before we're done here. I think the exchange will be after radiation which will be after chemo, so not until the fall probably.
I had an appointment yesterday at 37 & 6. Doctor said I was dilated to 2-3 and 75% effaced with the baby's head really low and she could feel a contraction. She said we could do a membrane sweep next week if I need it/make it to next weeks appointment. She made it sound like it wouldn't be bad so hopefully it won't be a big deal.
40 weeks today. No progress, still at 1cm. I was bleeding quite a bit when she finished the exam though and have passed some small clots today. I think I've had some contractions this evening, just....waiting. I see her again Monday and induced Midnight of Thurs/Fri if no baby before then.
