My kids are proving to be similar - with DS my water broke at my 40 week checkup appt. I ended up getting pitocin 12 hours later and he was born the next day. Today at my 40 week check up, the same thing happened! On my way to L&D now. One way or another, baby girl will be here soon!!
Had my 36 week appt today. I'm being induced on the 25th at 39+3. She gave me the option of the foley balloon the day before and go home with it, then induction the 25...or the pill, but I would need to be admitted over night the night before induction.
I hated the foley with my first, but I'm leaning towards that in case things progress quickly with the pill. Childcare in the middle of the night could be tricky.
im not dilated at all, but she said my cervix was soft. Hoping things start on their own before then.
I'm late to this thread and missed a lot. I'm so glad you have a plan in place @Louise_Belcher and I'm sorry it has been so stressful figuring all of this out. I agree, McFlurries are a godsend.
I had my 36 week appointment yesterday. I was assuming they wouldn't do the group B strep test because I'm still on antibiotics 4x per day from surgery but they did it anyway. Annoyingly the NP told me the OB she talked to wasn't really sure if it was worth doing or not so she decided to do it today and then repeat it at 38 weeks. It's not the worst test, but it's also not one I want to have to do twice, especially because there doesn't seem to be a valid medical reason to have done it yesterday, they just don't really know what to do about me.
In NBR news I also had my post-op appointment with my breast surgeon today and she said things look really good. I am actually shocked at how not-gross my incision is. I see my plastic surgeon on Friday as well and I think I'm getting one of my drains out which is exciting!
@RainyDays86 that's so annoying that they want to do GBS twice, I don't know why? If it's negative this time won't it be negative again? Hooray for good healing and getting the drains out!
@bacorrea I think they are worried about a false negative this week because I'm on antibiotics. I guess the antibiotics could be suppressing any GBS not not killing it? But honestly it sounds like they really aren't sure so they're just doing it twice to be safe.
My 40 week appt today was a lot less eventful. Not much progress going on over here. Baby is in position and ready but no action yet. If he doesn't come on his own by Monday, they will send me to the hospital and induce.

This sounds like I'm judging, but I'm not Will they induce you less than a week past your due date? My dr. said she will only let me go a week past which I appreciate (2 weeks sounds so long). Here's to hoping our babies just come out on their own before then.
@nda_roxybabe I thought she'd make me wait a whole week but for whatever reason she chose Monday night. I have an appt this Friday for a NST to check on baby and then I'll see the dr again Monday afternoon. If he's not here yet she said she'd like to start the inducement Monday night. I'm really hoping he comes on his own. I'm doing everything I can that is safe to help the process.

Awesome! I have no issues with inducement (after a due date, unless a medical reason). I am just hoping to avoid one as obviously I'd prefer to go into labor naturally as pitocin doesn't sound like too much fun. However, if this baby doesn't come by my Friday due date I am game...
@RainyDays86 How irritating they are making you do the test twice. Hope the plastic surgeon appointment goes great!
@rebecca517-2 Thanks. Her chest X-ray came back good and they prescribed an as needed anxiety med and after taking one her bp got closer to her normal. She hates going to the dr so I know this scared her to have called this morning. It made me nervous because she has epilepsy and it would be awful to have her have a seizure (any time but especially right now for selfish reasons). I have no idea if anxiety or spiked blood pressure could cause one, but I am doing a good job at worrying about things these days!
@RainyDays86 So glad to hear things are going well post-mastectomy. Yay for drains coming out and meeting with your surgeons. Thank you for keeping us updated.
@nda_roxybabe I was induced on my due date bc my doctor offered and was kind of like why not? With my son and everything turned out totally fine. My doctor offered to induce me at 39 weeks this time if I was "favorable" but I'm going to go to 40 if it's up to me.
My doctors are very "whatever you want to do" attitude which is interesting but I'm always a little shocked that they leave it up to me!
@RainyDays86 glad your post surgical appointment went well and the possibility of a drain coming out is like a cherry on top!
My 39+ week appt is tomorrow and I'm still debating whether I want to have a cervical check done still. No real cramping or painful contractions happening, just lots of uterine tightening throughout the day.
Just left my 38w appointment. Nothing too exciting to report. Dilated to 1.5, thinned half way, -3 station. Blood pressure is a little bit high, so got to have urine and blood tests. It went a bit up at the end with DD too, so I'm not too worried about pre e.

THE VERSION WORKED!! Still hooked up to monitors, but we are both doing good. Just very shaky from the med they gave to relax the uterus. I have my fingers crossed that he doesn't opt to flip back in the coming days. The procedure involved my ob and another ob pushing unbelievably hard on me. They said they would try 3 times unless I put a stop to it. I almost made them stop during the third try. It felt like my organs were going to burst. I am so glad I kept with it. There were 6 medical people in the room and I couldn't see H during the procedure, but I think he must have gotten upset because I heard someone ask if he was okay sometime in the middle. Coming back tomorrow to be monitored.

YAY!!! I am so, so glad it worked. FX he stays head down! I am sorry it was painful, and your poor H too
@Louise_Belcher yay!!! good job momma and baby! I'm sure all of our H's would have been the same way! Either upset not to be in there with us or even being upset watching...so tough, but I'm glad you all made it through it and baby flipped! Here's hoping Lo stays that way!!
