Welcome to January 2018 BMB! If you're new to TB, we're excited to have you! Below you will find information on how the flow of BMBs work, guidelines and helpful links. I've borrowed this from other BMBs.

Some links that you may find helpful:

For the sake of board organization, here are some simple guidelines for posting threads:

DO:
-Introduce yourself in the "Introductions" thread
-Feel free to start one of the weekly posts listed below: if a post is "assigned" but hasn't been started by mid morning, feel free to start it!
-Post your own thread if you have a confirmed loss
-Post a thread that would apply to the entire community and doesn't fall into one of the categories for daily threads listed below (Ex: what to pack in your hospital bag, baby gear, etc)
-Comment, share advice and show support for your fellow bumpies; this is a two-way street, to get support, you must show it as well

DON'T:
-Start a thread asking about symptoms; please post this in the current weekly "symptoms thread"
-Ask the community if you are pregnant, it is against TOU
-Start a thread asking for relationship advice; a professional is better suited for this task
-Post pictures of your pregnancy test, this is also against TOU
-Post a thread that asks a question only applying to yourself unless you suspect you may be going through a MC
-Get bent out of shape if someone calls you out for not following these guidelines; if you expect to be part of a supportive board (which we are), you need to be able to take the time to learn the ins and outs of the board

Daily Threads: (please add the date to the thread title)

Ticker Changes (when your weekly progression changes, you participate in that day. For example, if I will be 10 weeks on Friday, that's the day I participate).

Once we all get farther along, we will also have pinned threads for things like ultrasounds, sex announcements and birth announcements.

I've copy/pasted this from previous boards, and it seems to be the way that they are all organized, but of course we should feel free to tweak for our needs!

Ok, maybe a dumb question, but if there isn't a "symptoms" thread, can we start one, even if it's not Saturday? Or is it that there's a new Symptoms thread every Saturday?

I'm less familiar with the more organized boards. In Infertility and TTC-Over-35, it's a lot more loosey-goosey.

@KTLake42 so my understanding (others should feel free to chime in!) would be that the symptoms thread would get posted on Saturday, and used throughout the week, so if you have a symptom crop up that following Thursday you still post it in that thread. That said, I personally doubt anyone would have a problem if you started a symptom thread now, since this board wasn't opened until Monday, and we'll just start it on Saturday's moving forward.

@MrsDorkCharming started a daily thread, which seems like a really good idea to me as a repository for daily randoms and chit chat. Anyone object to my editing the initial post to add daily threads M-F and a Weekend Randoms post?

I am still learning how to use this site so please bare with me.. I have to look up the abbreviations still but I'm in dang it! I think a daily thread is good especially since I work all the time and will prob forget the rules due to prego brain.

Since we've decided to post daily/weekend random threads, I'm not sure we also need a Sunday pregnancy chatter thread (and just the question part seems to have substantial overlap with "stupid question Sunday.") What do you all think about consolidating and just having one Sunday thread for Questions/concerns for the week?

ETA I went ahead and just started one question thread for the week, if it works and there are no objections to keeping just the one moving forward I'll edit the original post this weekend.

Hi ladies, i am having trouble getting my ticker in my signature... does anyone have any tips? so far i have tried to copy the url into my signature, and i have tried to put it in as a URL image and no luck. Thanks!

@karacc18 You have to first click the </> tool. Then paste the URL into the box. It should work then!

I've noticed that many ladies are now getting ultrasounds and stuff, so should we start an ultrasound thread and get it pinned? I've always enjoyed looking at them on other BMBs...

@babystone1018 and @britmanering73 - To add the ticker to your signature, view your profile, then click the little person silhouette on the right side to open Preferences. Then pick Signature Settings from the list on the left & paste your code into the box. You might need to toggle HTML on first if it doesn't display right.

You have to change your username through The Knot (and this applies to everyone, even if you originally signed up via The Bump). But you can change your picture on TB - on desktop, click the little person icon on the top right, then click "my account" on the top right. If you click the generic avatar, it should let you add a new picture.

Using the iPhone mobile app here. I changed my username on theknot but when I post here it still shows a generic knottie***** name. How do I change that and add a profile picture ? Thank you.

Knottie, try logging out and back into the bump, I've heard that works pretty well. For profile pic, go to your account on the app and you should be able to change it.
