@lap018 I like it! We actually used similar wording on DS's invites for his 2nd birthday. We said "Your presence is his present". And then in smaller letters we said "no gifts please". A few people still brought gifts, but we put them out of the way and didn't open them until everybody was gone. I think it's perfect the way she worded it!
@lap018 agree with the above. The only issue I could see is someone feeling bad for not bringing a gift if someone else does anyway. Maybe have the host subtly take any gifts and put them somewhere so there's no one feeling singled out for bringing or not bringing one.
@JNR6510 I'm loling at your DH a bit. I think his tune will probably change, especially if your LO isn't STTN the night at that point. And honestly, for me, it took a long time for my body to really feel recovered from giving birth and back to a strong place. Maybe it's because I'm on the older-ish end (it seems like the majority of our board is in their 20s), but when DS was 9m old, I was loudly proclaiming I was never having another child again.
@lap018 I think the wording sounds fine. I definitely wouldn't side eye it.
@ColoradoHiker I think he will be changing his tune once the baby arrives. Between sleepless nights and nasty diapers he may not want another one right away.
I'm super tired for the insomnia starting at 1:30 this morning. On the bright side, I did get a decent poop in today. That's a big deal given the constant battle with constipation.
@iheartichi this might be my new all time favorite holiday!!! Pimento cheese for dinner I think
@ColoradoHiker I think it's from SC? But in general it is THE mayo to use in the south. I grew up on Best Foods/ Hellmans and was skeptical but Dukes is far better.
ETA my random for today is that I have a job interview today for a job I'm actually really excited about. And it's where SIL works so the lady interviewing me already knows I'm pregnant which takes off so so so much stress. And if we have more kids in the future they give 10 weeks fully paid maternity leave after you have been there a year! SO fingers crossed!!
My mom ordered us a glider from BRU. We picked it up yesterday. Pretty sure I will never sit anywhere else in my house. It's the most comfortable I've been in weeks.
My dream job at my dream school just opened up. I just sent an email and resume to the principal, I'm so nervous now! It would completely disrupt all of my maternity leave plans for next year, but I just had to go for it! I'm really nervous about telling my AP that I applied on Monday morning though, ugh.
We tracked down the sour chewy sweet tarts. They are pretty good, but I swear they are more sour than they were 10 years ago. Maybe it's pregnancy, maybe I remember them wrong.
Just heard back from the principal and as county employee I'm ineligible because I'm past the transfer period. Oh well, I wasn't planning on transferring till next year anyhow. : /

That stinks. At least they let you know quickly, though.
The heater in our house has a motor for the fan that's going out. The property management came and looked and cleaned it but did nothing with the motor. The sound is driving me crazy!! It's so bad.
So is dealing with throw up a mom skill I haven't developed yet or you just have to have a strong stomach ? I've never been good with throw up not even my own and DS is 1 and whenever he throws up I have to leave the room ! I can't handle throw up at all and I know it's stupid and tell myseld that's your baby it's just milk but for some reason I still can't do it !

I really struggle with the smell
DH's parents had an agreement when he and his sister's were kids. MIL took care of blood, and FIL got everything else.

My struggle is with the actual act, watching my toddler scream and vomit is hard and I freak out every time. I can clean it up okay, and usually the smell doesn't bother me too badly, but watching him do it is the hardest part for me.
