@wyomama0427 yikes! That could have been AWFUL. Glad it's minimal damage to him, but sorry his company is being dumb. Some of these things are simply just accidents with NO ONE to blame...mechanical failure happens as is an accepted risk noted by the manufacturer. Hang in there mama and tell your DH we're all thinking of him!
So the summer office "morale" event is going to be the last weekend in JUNE, and will be at an outdoor adventure park...like obstacle courses - zip lines type of stuff - I just looked at our boss like "seriously...?"
@labby18 That normally would sound AWESOME, at least to me, expect pregnant so nope! It just sounds like torture having to watch everyone else have fun.

EXACTLY. But what kills me is like 95% of our office is a disabled veteran in some way. Sooo we'll see how this goes lol.
@labby18 DH and I took the kids to one of those last year, all the obstacles were in the water, and none of us could move for about a week. It doesn't sound like your boss thought this one through very well...
@labby18 We did one of those at work last year. It was a ropes course through the trees with lots of ziplines. I was not pregnant and not disabled in any way, so it was fun but very challenging. Pregnant and disabled people do not seem like the target market for these things though...even the height alone got to a lot of people!
Thanks everyone. @mrsmarygs he's dealing with the pain well, they gave him hydrocodone and naproxen. He's really swollen today, I made him up an ice pack and put some pillows under his leg, I've been playing nurse today lol. @jutondreau DH is pretty sure that it had to be an equipment malfunction, he thinks a valve got stuck and it didn't stop pressurizing the plate. He said yesterday that "God musta pinched me on the butt and got me to stand up or it woulda hit my head"
@wyomama0427 yikes! God works in mysterious ways for sure! Hopefully the company will back off and allow him time to heal! As with most men, I'm sure he's enjoying the doting
@jutondreau the rep was still in his hospital room when I got there and told me I'd have to wait on him hand and foot and the nurse laughed loudly and told me she'd make sure that didn't make it into the home care instructions but oh yeah he's enjoying me taking care of him for sure!
Ladies-can I just share how sweet DH is being?! I took a picture today at work, sent it to him, and told him I felt like I was getting huge. His response 'you're just getting more beautiful. I love my pregnant wife'. Swoon. All the heart eyes for that man!

So, I've wondered for a while why I have never known of anyone IRL to use a midwife. Apparently it isn't legal for them to practice in Alabama. The state passed a bill yesterday giving them rights to practice. This state is so weird, ya'll.
If this baby loves the car seat as much as DS, we will never leave the house
@HollyGolightly09 I get why some decisions need to be made on the state level, but for the life of me don't get why something like access to Midwives wouldn't or shouldn't be available across all 50 states. Glad AL is catching up though!

Wow! I had no idea. Happy to see them making a positive change.
@HollyGolightly09 Not allowed, as in if not associated with a hospital? Or just not at all? Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) are super common here! But I've only had them when associated with a hospital, not sure about with a birth center, etc.

Apparently, the only kind of midwife that can legally practice are "certified nurse midwives" which requires the same amount of schooling as a nurse practitioner.
Home births are only legal is there is no midwife present.
ETA: It's worth mentioning that 38 of the 67 counties in Alabama don't have a hospital.

*stuck in the box*
What?! That seems like a huge failing in infrastructure. What happens if you live in a county with no hospital and are surrounded my counties that are also without a hospital? Where do you give birth?
@mrs_tacos From my understanding, that was the primary reason it did get passed. But... that's after 25 years of it being illegal. Alabama's laws are like one big eye roll.
@HollyGolightly09 We used to live in the Carolinas, and it was much the same. Half of what went on in both local and state government was just...puzzling. (Not that California is immune from this at all, but they tend to be more consistent, and less random about the weirdness. )
Is it just me or are there very few of us who participate in the randoms? On my old bmb, we had a daily randoms thread and it was usually several pages long.
Hi guys!!! I've been so busy working the past couple of days. I haven't had time to get on here AT ALL and I miss you all! I've picked out my breast pump from insurance (Spectra S1!! ) and the bottle system we'll use! And DH really got brownie points last night for initiating sexy time and focusing all on me. I'm a happy girl!
@wyomama0427 I'm so sorry about your husband's leg! Glad he should mend fine
@jutrondeau Aww your husband is so sweet! Mine doesn't quite get there, but he does say I am beautiful and that my belly is supposed to be big because there's a baby in there. So I guess he's trying lol.

SO is in the dog house. I bought some bean dip the other day at the store and was really looking forward to making some nachos. I go to the fridge and open up the can and there's barely enough for a single chip in there.
He got home at midnight after being at a friend's house and he thought I was pissed off at him for staying out so late. But then I let him have it about my bean dip lol.
@wineren I've heard good things about belly support bands, I hope you like yours! @msashley2010-2 Didn't your DH learn to never ever eff with a pregnant lady's (insert type of food here)?? DH told me the other night he would stop by the store after the gym, and said he would pick up something chocolatey for us. He came back, without anything chocolate, and I asked him what happened. He apparently forgot.
I feel like a truck ran me over last night. I had a bad anxiety day yesterday, and then met with my personal trainer. That helped, but now I'm exhausted AND sore. Today is already a lot better, but I'm ready for the weekend!
My neighbor has two small dogs and they have been out in the yard yapping. All freaking morning. I am losing my mind. I really need to get stuff done in the house today but I'm so irritated from these dogs that I have zero motivation.
I'm super tired for the insomnia starting at 1:30 this morning. On the bright side, I did get a decent poop in today. That's a big deal given the constant battle with constipation.
Sorry I have been MIA, been catching up on posts the past couple of days. Pregnant people getting through a breakup is not a pretty sight.
I am getting on a plane in 3 hours to go to my Dads wedding and kind of freaking out. Trying not to let anxiety win.
Doc was okay with me traveling with many precautions, one being I bring someone with me. SO cancelled his flight and refused to go even though Doctor talked to him privately about it. I am deciding to go anyway because if I am going to be doing this pregnancy and Mom thing alone I have to start somewhere, but oh man am I nervous in case something happens.
I just went into the washroom at work and the woman I am having difficulties with due to her being a cock juggling thunder cunt was poop grunting. I take an immense pleasure in knowing even her colon hates her.
Oh I love those @Cats*in*space. I don't know if they make them anymore or not, but when I first got pregnant I craved these. I had teddy grahams with frosting. It was just as amazing.
@towntowns I am so, so sorry you're going through that. I hope you guys can either work things out, or figure out an amicable arrangement. And no matter what, I hope your enjoy your dad's wedding!
