Symptoms? The usual... heart burn, back ache, can't sleep.
Rants/Raves/Questions? none for now might be back later with something
GTKY: my most memorable birthday would have to be my 16th birthday. My mom threw a nice little party with family and friends. It's also the first birthday I spent with my DH!
How big is baby: butternut squash/some adorable smiley rodent called a quokka
Appointments: Getting my TDaP at my PCP this morning and then a checkup at my OB on Thursday.
Symptoms: More crappy sleep and lots of peeing, plus uncomfortable baby movements and BH. I think some of it is stress.
Rants/Raves/Questions: My husband is going out of town this Saturday night, and I'm paranoid I'll go into labor. Highly unlikely, but that's how my pregnant brain works!
GTKY: When I turned 21, my mom, aunt, and I went to New Orleans for a long weekend. My mom had to fake a sick call, which she never ever did, so it felt like we were all playing hooky. It was so much fun.
Symptoms: heartburn, frequent restroom trips, sharp pain in pelvic area I think
Rants/Raves/Questions? I have not been constipated this entire pregnancy, but out of the blue, it snuck up on me. Ugh!
GTKY: my most memorable birthday I would say my 22nd birthday. My sister and I wore matching outfits and shoes and all I remember is that we had a blast
@mrsfox2008 good luck at your appointment this morning! @slowmo good luck at your appointment Thursday! FX baby stays put while your DH is away! @mrsCPALeslie sorry about the constipation, it sucks!
How far along are you? 37 Weeks!
How big is baby? Romaine Lettuce, Winter Melon or a striped skunk
Any appointments this week? Tomorrow, I believe just a regular check up not sure if they will start cervical checks or not.
Symptoms? Heartburn, lower pelvic pressure, frequent need to pee, tightening of stomach, some period like cramping on occasion, and just generally uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Anyone else having this period like cramping on occasion? I am thinking maybe it is the beginning of practice contractions? Baby still moves during and immediately after so I know they aren't the real deal but maybe things getting ready.
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? Probably my 16th because we had a big sweet 16 and at a hall.
Married: June 2011 TTC #1: September 2015-January 2016 BFP #1: 1/25/16 - MMC Diagnosed 3/22/16 TTCAL: June 2016 BFP #2: 8/26/16 - EDD 5/9/17 Jackson born 5/6/17 at 8:36 PM - 9lbs 5oz & 21in
How far along are you? 36 weeks (Scheduled C - 5/10)
How big is baby? Large cantaloupe or Chihuahua (I keep imagining our chihuahua in my belly! )
Any appointments this week? OB visit Friday including GBS test
Symptoms? I know most (if not all) of us have had to deal with multiple bouts of sinus craziness during pregnancy. I don't feel like that is what I have now... It's just like some nasty stuff has set up shop in my throat/chest. I have thrown up exactly 1 time with both of my pregnancies, and it's been because I've had to hack stuff out of my chest and I HATE IT! It totally grosses me out. Needless to say, I'm ready for this affliction to mosey on!
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? I told my husband that if I could spend my 30th birthday in NYC that it would soften the blow of getting older. (In reality, I wasn't bothered by the new number at all!) I was around 20 weeks pregnant, but we were still able to do everything we wanted - including FOUR BROADWAY SHOWS! I did have some extreme swelling in my legs, because it felt like we were walking miles and miles - but I persevered.
@MrsCPALeslie - Get you some Colace! You'll be glad to have it after the baby is here, and maybe it can get things moving for you now.
@MrsFox2008 Good luck with today's appointment! And how fun that you also knew your husband when you were so young @slowmo I'm sorry your husband will be gone this weekend. Hopefully you can relax and the weekend will pass by quickly with minimal worry! @MrsCPALeslie I hope the constipation goes away soon. @lilylover27 I've had a few bouts of mild cramping, but not much (I'm still a couple of weeks behind you). I hope it's not too uncomfortable! @emilyalso I'm dealing with a cold and gunk right now too...yuck! But your chihuahua comment cracked me up! I'm glad you also had a good 30th birthday celebration while pregnant How far along are you? 35 weeks How big is baby? Pineapple Any appointments this week? Just had one this morning and set up the rest of them from here on out; ultrasound next week to check on low-lying placenta Symptoms? Hip/leg pain from not being able to move positions while sleeping...although it wasn't as bad last night! I'm mad at myself for not going to bed until 12:30 when I knew I had to be up early, but I just assumed I wouldn't be able to sleep anyways. I was wrong and now I'm tired when I (perhaps) didn't need to be! Hopefully tonight will treat me well Rants/Raves/Questions? (Sorry in advance for the long rant! Also possible *TW* since bleeding is mentioned.) My appointment this morning left me feeling confused and scared. I might also post about this in randoms, but I have a low-lying placenta that hasn't moved up yet and the high-risk office I've been seeing for those ultrasounds (different from my regular OB) has made it seem like no big deal--a bleeding risk that could be addressed through a c-section (either planned or emergency, if they were willing to let me try vaginal). Well, I finally got to talk to my OB about it this morning, and he had a different perspective on what the risks will be. He said that it's an issue with how the placenta will detach after birth, and the bleeding risks will be there even with a c-section. So now it seems that they'll hand me my baby and I'll get to wait on pins and needles over the next 6 hours to see if I start hemorrhaging (fun)...and if I do, the measures they will take could range from medicines that give me really strong contractions to the worst-case scenario of a hysterectomy I think these are all very low risks--and next week's ultrasound could change things--but since I had been thinking of this as no big deal for the past few months (and not allowing myself to consult Dr. Google), it was kind of shocking to all of a sudden hear some bigger concerns that could come about. Anyways, I guess that's a big long rant with the question of whether anyone else is dealing with this or has dealt with it in past pregnancies? GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? I have good memories of my 15th birthday because I got to spend it with my grandpa who has since passed away. My 30th was this past weekend and H and I did a little "babymoon" in one of our favorite towns a few hours away...we got a couple's massage (which has really helped with my pain lately!), ate ALL the food, and just enjoyed being together. I think it'll be one of the most memorable ones!
How far along are you? 35 weeks. I am so ready to not be pregnant, but totally not ready for baby to be here.
How big is baby? Pineapple
Any appointments this week? I feel like I am always going to some kind of doctor or lab! Mon: Blood work and Chiro Wed: Dentist (NBR) Thur: Chiro Fri: Checkup and Ultrasound to check position
Symptoms? My hips are killer. I am greatly looking forward to them not hurting so much.
Rants/Raves/Questions? Finally submitted my orders at Amazon and Target and the boxes have just been rolling in! My mom surprised us for Easter with a check for the same amount as her gift (the crib) was with DS, so it is basically like she bought one of those orders! Also she got us 4 tubs of B. Happy peanut butter which I have wanted for a couple years, but we do not live in Indiana anymore and I couldn't get myself to pay for the shipping.
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? Either 9 or 30. Growing up my parents let us have one friends birthday (the rest were just family) and it was at the age of 9. I remember my choices being a sleep over or bowling. I picked a sleep over and had 12 girls spend the night. My parents rented huge roll away beds and we all stayed in the basement. It was an all afternoon and night event and I loved it! For my 30th birthday, DH asked what I wanted. I am not huge into birthdays (do not have many friends and do not love to be the center) but I love my family and want any excuse to see them. So I asked for family, pizza, and snickerdoodles. I thought he had forgotten my birthday that day and that we were just going to my mom's for dinner (not pizza) and when I arrived everyone that could make it on a weeknight was there and there was pizza and snickerdoodles. Also he had a huge Lora Zombie print I had been holding onto framed for our living room. It was a wonderful low key surprise.
@MrsFox2008 Have you and your DH been together since 16? @slowmo New Orleans for 21st sounds awesome! @emilyalso 30th (or any birthday) in NYC sounds like a blast! Only been twice, but always had such a wonderful time! @L1C4gal Oh jeez! I would also be very nervous if someone informed me of that worst case scenario. I hope when you go next week they are able to give you more peace of mind.
Any appointments/updates for baby or mom this week? We had a weight check yesterday--she's a few ounces shy of her birthweight! Yippee!
questions/concerns/updates/etc: She's doing a lot of sleeping these days. This first week has been much smoother than our first week was with DS, likely because we knew what to expect with an infant (feeding every 2-3 hours, specifically), so we were likely more prepared for this lack of sleep.
Rant/Raves/Questions? I've been prioritizing self care with this baby and it's made a world of difference. Showering, taking 10 minutes to do my hair and makeup, changing into sweats that are acceptable for public view, etc. Its glorious. Although the bleeding is still happening, which is annoying...looking forward to that ending.
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? My 30th birthday--most of our friends turned 30 the same year so we planned a big group birthday trip to New Orleans over Mardi Gras and it was awesome. Totally a once in a lifetime experience.
Good luck to everyone with appointments this week! We're all getting so close!
@L1C4gal wow, that's a lot for you to take in. No advice, but I'll be thinking of you and I hope things are looking a little more promising at your next ultrasound.
@Louise_Belcher it's so nice when our DHs remember things like that and suprise us just when we think they've forgotten.
How far along are you? 36 weeks!
How big is baby? A papaya
Any appointments this week? Had my home visit with the midwife yesterday, and MY STITCHES COME OUT ON THURSDAY!!!!!! Sorry for yelling, but I'm really excited.
Symptoms? Hip pain has gotten really bad, and this kid keeps sticking his feet up in my ribs.
Rants/Raves/Questions? TMI warning - I spent 45 minutes in the bathroom last night with super runny poops, but afterwards I slept for 7 hours straight. If that's what it takes to get a good nights sleep I'll take it!
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? A month before my 31st birthday I came home to a huge bouquet of flowers and a note from DH saying that for my birthday he would take me anywhere I wanted to go with his airline points. I picked the Mayan Riviera and I was sticking my toes in the ocean the day I turned 31. The trip was so amazing we've gone back almost every year since and we even got married there.
@L1C4gal thanks! Yes it's fun looking back and talking about all the memories we have together I'm sorry you got that news, I haven't had to deal with that but I can imagine its scary.
@Louise_Belcher you're one busy lady this week with appointments! I hope they all go well!! DH and I have been together since I was 15 and I have known him since I was 14
@Kipperoo I'm glad to hear from you! Also glad she's getting back to her birth weight. I think it's great you're taking time to take care of yourself. I really need to remember that this time around
@MrsCPALeslie I have been taking fiber gummies and those help immensely! If I don't take them I am so backed up.
@lilylover27 those cramping sensations are Braxton hicks. Mine started last weekend.
@emilyalso oh man you only puked once!!!! Sooo jealous of you I was a puking machine from 5-6 weeks until 28-29 weeks. So. Much. Puking.
@L1C4gal wow! What a rollercoaster you are on. Scary that they give you both best case and worst case scenario. I hope everything goes smoothly and that you are in good hands with your hospital staff.
@Louise_Belcher tell me about this peanut butter. I live in Indiana... also what a fun birthday!
@Kipperoo glad your check up went well. That's one thing being a STM has over FTM, you know what to expect and what to do differently.
@CherryBananas woo hoo for sleeping and getting stitches out. Means it's almost baby time! Also DAMN girl what an awesome H you have! That sounds like an awesome way to celebrate your birthday!
How far along are you? 35 weeks
How big is baby? Pineapple! Or bunny
Any appointments this week? Had a regular check up today. Baby is still head down which I'm happy to hear otherwise just slow and uneventful
Symptoms? Starting to get Braxton hicks and had some back pain but otherwise same SPD, peeing all the time etc.
Rants/Raves/Questions? None
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? I have a lot of fun on my birthday. In college we combined a couple friends and had a "you honk we drink" party at the end of the semester which was fun for my 22nd. For my 25th we had a party bus take us around Grand Rapids. I think we will do a belated 30th as it's in 2 weeks and I can't get around much nor drink and we will do another party bus or one of those dinner river cruises with a DJ in a Chicago.
@nda_roxybabe OMG! No way! How did you hear about it?
@SWE2 It is basically candy/peanut butter that you eat with a spoon. The types that my mom got us are Dream Big (White Chocolate Pretzel, Go Lucky (Chocolate Toffee), and So Happy Together (Snickerdoodle Popcorn). I found it when DH and I worked for Purdue and played hookie to Indianapolis for the day. It was at a little shop there called Goose the Market. They have a list of places on their website that they sell the peanut butter and they sell it online. It is worth a look! Be warned that it is addictive
@Kipperoo - DS is only 17 months old, but I feel like I have already forgotten so much of what it was like when he was brand new. Reading your post, I now remember how hard it was just to keep him awake long enough to eat!
@SWE2 - I was definitely not trying to brag! I have ALL OF THE SYMPATHY for women who are sick during pregnancy and know that I have lucked out. I really just wanted to demonstrate how much I truly loathe the throat mucus stuff.
@slowmo - I basically plan trips to the city around how many shows I can see. I'm nutzo for the theater!
@Louise_Belcher That sounds like the perfect 30th birthday! And I hope all of those appointments go well this week! @Kipperoo I'm glad things are going smoothly with your little one, and that you're prioritizing self care as well. We all need to keep this in mind, so thanks for the inspiration! @CherryBananas What an AMAZING 31st birthday surprise! I thought that only happened in the movies And congrats on getting the stitches out tomorrow! @MrsFox2008 My husband and I have also known each other since I was 14 (though we didn't start dating until I was 19). It's fun to have those early memories @SWE2 Happy early 30th! I really enjoyed my 30th/babymoon, but we will probably also do a belated "30th" party with friends for my 31st birthday--likely also in Chicago!
Thank you all for the positive vibes about my visit yesterday. Hopefully next Wednesday's ultrasound will give us some more clarity! It was just jarring to have such a big change in what the worst-case scenario would be, and to have two doctors give me completely different (and conflicting) explanations of what the problem was and how we should address it. But I'm processing it all and I appreciate the positivity from my Tuesday ladies!
Yeah, my DH is not the type of guy to make big, grand, romantic gestures (maybe one day I'll tell you about how he proposed lol) so that was really special for me that he even thought to do something like that.
Man, I HATE missing this... third time in a row now... Sorry ladies.
How far along are you? 37 weeks
How big is baby? ~6 lbs and 18 in, romaine lettuce
Any appointments this week? Today, I had a quick checkup.
Symptoms? Along with everything else, numb fingers and hands upon waking and swollen ankles.... woo!
Rants/Raves/Questions? I thought I'd have more time to Bump while on modified duty, but it turns out, I've had so many projects going on. But, I've officially decided that next Wednesday will be my last shift and got the note from my ON to start leave May 1 (even though April 26 is my last day... So like 4 days "free.")
GTKY: what's one of your most memorable birthdays? My 30th. MH surprised me and proposed
@MrsFox2008 super cool you and your H have known and been together since your mid-teens!
@slowmo it's hard being separate from H, especially while pregnant.... please dont go into labor while he's gone, lol
@MrsCPALeslie Ironically, I got constipated around the same week as you. Hopefully, it's short-lived. I didn't need to start close yet, but not a bad idea to have some Gandy and for postpartum for sure.
@emilyalso now I'm imagining a chihuahua in my belly
@L1C4gal no experience, but hopefully no hemorrhaging either route you go. Super cool you got to celebrate your 30th and have an awesome babymoon.
@Louise_Belcher ". I am so ready to not be pregnant, but totally not ready for baby to be here." I think I said this earlier today as well. Sounds like you have an amazing H that listens and mom that gifts you yummy goodness!
@Kipperoo 6 days already?! Man, it sounds like you guys have a great handle on things. High 5!
@CherryBananas Hey, I'll yell with you... YOUR STITCHES COME OUT THURSDAY! WOOOOO!
@SWE2 Glad things are uneventful. I feel like LO dropped a couple of weeks back but "came back up" the last couple of days?? OB asked me if it feels like he dropped and I mentioned my prior statement but apparently, she found his HR lower in my abdomen than last week??? Oh, and happy early 30th!
@mrsrep123 I hear you on the swollen ankles. My feet and ankles are so swollen, even my compression socks aren't helping. None of my shoes fit and it sucks.
Re: Tuesday Ticker Change 4/18

Any appointments?
yes, later this morning.
Symptoms?
The usual... heart burn, back ache, can't sleep.

#3 Due 9/20
@MrsFox2008 - Aww! High school sweethearts?
@MrsCPALeslie - I second all the Colace recommendations. I've taken it off and on this pregnancy, and it has helped a lot.
@lilylover27 - I'm starting to get a little cramping on occasion. Nothing crazy, but enough to put me on edge!
@emilyalso - Four shows, wow! I lived there nearly a decade and saw maybe three?
@L1C4gal - That's a lot of scary info all at once. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well and that the U/S shows improvement.
@Louise_Belcher - Good luck at all your appointments! Hope the chiro keeps working magic!
@Kipperoo - Glad baby is doing so well! And good job making self-care a priority. Sooo important.
@CherryBananas - Your birthday trip sounds amazing. I would kill to stick my toes in the ocean right now.
@SWE2 - Your birthdays sound awesome! I hope you're able to do something fun for 30.
It's fun to have those early memories
@SWE2 Happy early 30th!
