Ooh, nice! I got the chicco caddy for $70 at target, but I bet I can still return it. I wonder how they compare?

Realistically, how many blankets do we really need? I have one from before, and I'm thinking of buying another one. Is two enough?..
    Crib blankets? 0 or 1
Swaddle type blankets? Gimme alllll of them haha
I wouldn't buy too many..start out with a few. What if your baby ends up hating swaddling? My youngest only liked it for about a month..never used a swaddle blanket after that...so now I have like 40 A&A blankets laying around..which I suppose is good now!
  • @cait32 The discount isn't on all quilts, just the two styles. Maybe that's the problem? I added a different one at first and was wondering why it wasn't working.

Same! Everyone raved about the A&A blankets, so I bought a bunch, but my son didn't like being swaddled in them. They're great stroller blankets for the summer months, but that's really all I used them for.
  • Re: swaddle blankets... I bought 4 A&A that were on sale through Zulily a few weeks back. I figure if she doesn't like being swaddled in them, they can be used as burp cloths, blankets to play/lie on before she's mobile (vs just being on the floor/carpet), and stroller blankets. If all else fails, wall tapestries?! haha

We used our A&A blankets a TON. We did use them to swaddle, but also I always had one close by to wipe up drool or something. He would never nurse under a cover, so they were also nice to just cover up a little if I was nursing in public. They get softer the more you wash them, so I just used them for everything. I don't think I've ever been more than an arms reach from an A&A blanket in the last 3 years. LOL He's almost 3 and we still use them. He sleeps with them instead of a stuffed animal or something, and we have about a dozen, so we can leave one at DC and never have to worry about it getting lost.
  • @GlitterFish   Some people don't like the hassle of buckling in the straps for the universal car seat carrier.  Others appreciate the versatility of being able to use whichever car seat they want.  Plus the universal one is cheaper than the Chicco car seat carrier.

I think it really is based on how much you value the ability to just pop the car seat in and out of the Chicco one... versus buckling in the straps on the universal one.
  • The NUK Seal N Go bags, 100 count are on sale for even less than before on Amazon.  $9 for 100.

  • Can't remember if I posted this already:

Graco® Glider™ LX Gliding Swing in Affinia for $81.89 after promo code BABY10 (reg. $139.99)

If you prefer the beige color, that is also on sale for just $5 more.

  • @AdaByron I LOVED the a&a boppy bibs for basically the same reasons. They were so soft, and my son carried them around like little blankets. Not sure why the swaddles weren't such a hit with us. Maybe this time!

I use swaddle blankets for way more than swaddling.  Other uses include:

    - light weight blanket
    - impromptu diaper changing mat
    - clean place to put non-mobile babies down on strange floors
    - crib liners for sick toddlers - when the boys are sick I lay them under the pillow area (aka throwup zone) and also use one as a makeshift pillowcase.  Last time DS2 had a GI I think I went through 20 in one night.  They're super easy to strip and throw in the wash.

  • Just saw target will be doing a car seat trade in event 4/17 - 4/30. Get 20% off  coupon for a new one to use through the end of May.
  • I've had my eye on a glider and ottoman from BRU. There is a 15% coupon this weekend but they have run better discounts in the past. Anyone know if they circulate additional coupons that you can stack with the promotion or if they run big sales on nursery furniture in the foreseeable future (like over Memorial Day?) I'm on their email list but have not received any coupons
  • @Potterphile it's not quite that bad, we went through 1-2 onesies a day in the beginning and not necessarily from blow out, DS was a chronic spit-upper. And just remember mom pro tip, the reason onesies have the folded shoulders is so you can roll them down off their shoulders and take them off in reverse so you are not trying to take of a poopy onesie over their head. I never realized that with my first.

A utility sink sink (or large bucket) with oxyclean pretty much saved my favorite onesies/blankets. RIP Billy Mays

As far as blankets go I had probably 6-10 swaddlers (a+a) they definitely got spit up/pooped on and having a few sets was essential. I had a few thick blankets for tummy time and covering up the car seat. Mine were both summer babies so it does seem necessary at first but keeping the sun off them, protecting from wind/rain and having a quick solution so you can lay them down, change them or even snuggle with when you are holding them was nice.
  • I used A+A blankets for everything. 4 wasn't enough so I have about 10 now and will buy some more since I still use them on my 19 month old.

Ironically I didn't use them to swaddle my infant...because he wasn't a fan of swaddling.

They're going out of business so sales are final but you can get the Beco Gemini carrier or a wrapsody wrap for half off with the code final. I have ordered exclusive baby carriers from them in years past and bought Tula blankets from them a couple weeks ago when the site was 30% off. https://frogmama.com/

  • @LoveLee85 I promise I am not stalking and replying to all of your posts lol!

Mine didn't care to be swaddled either, when we did in the beginning we used the cheater Velcro ones anyways. Those darn swaddlers from a+a are not only cute and so soft but we used and still use them for anything from tackling spit ups to snuggles. I kind wish they made adult sized ones...

Target has a few deals... a bogo-1/2off on certain wipes, a $10 giftcard on buying two of certain diapers, another $10 giftcard on $50+ clothes.  Some of these also have coupons on Cartwheel and/or printable off target.com that could be stacked. (NBR, but I got a good deal today on face wash and lotion, stacking a Cartwheel with a get-a-giftcard promo).  There's also just a general 10% off baby coupon, but it has a fair number of exclusions.

  • I just used the code "save12" on stroller depot and it actually worked on my Nuna stroller and car seat. I hadn't found any other codes that actually worked on this brand so wanted to pass along in case someone else was looking at them. They had the blue mixx stroller on sale already and the discounts stacked so save about $100.
  • Well I wish I could post a damn pic @BumpAdmin, but I searched "pregnancy pillow" on Amazon just now and two of those giant U shaped ones came up for like $10 with shipping. They don't arrive until may 11-30 unfortunately but for that cheap.....
