@mrsmarygs Your poor DH, it sucks that someone would be that horrible over a game. I played a lot of sports as a kid, and parents like that always embarrassed their kids. Good for your DH for sticking up for his students! He isn't the bad guy at all, and the fact that everyone believed him without hard evidence shows that this guy has been trouble for a long time. I hope the school administration sticks up for him!
I also tend to absorb my DH's stress. Definitely do something to help keep yourself calm!
ETA: because I can't complain upthread about people not taking my writing career seriously, and then leave horrible grammar sitting around in my posts.
@mrsmarygs Ugh your poor DH! What about the ump? Can the school reach out to him since he also witnessed first-hand the parent's rudeness?
That's actually their next step. They asked the kid, and his mom, and now they are trying to track down the ump. But at this point, the whole debacle has been going on for nearly a week and DH is just tired of the whole situation.
Ugh.. SO much WTF to go around lately. This one actually has to do with this latest news about United I'm definitely not here to argue about what happened, but because it did happen with this particular passenger on this one freakin United flight... the entire company is on edge. DH works for United and the thousands of employees that had nothing to do with this are now stressed, and I'm sure their families are too. With the stock losing so much value, and the massive amount of incorrect, uneducated comments I'm reading are SO upsetting because there's just nothing I can do. So much stress between me and DH since it happened. Seriously, I don't even know which part of this to apply the wtf to!! Though venting does help a little..
@mrs_tacos I think DH took total leave of his senses, I honestly don't know what he was thinking. And I agree that ass is a very mild swear word. I really wanted to tell him he was a fucking idiot, but his dad was just standing there watching us argue, and I didn't want to be a total jerk, haha. Like I said, we never swear directly at each other, and me getting to the point where I did so is probably what finally made him realize it was time to start parenting and stop thinking of himself first.
@beccam1230 I'm sorry, that really sucks. I can't imagine how it must feel to have all the random people judge you and be angry at you for an incident you had nothing to do with in a company of thousands of people. I don't have any advice to offer, but I'm so sorry this is affecting your family in such a negative way!
Ugh, got another one for y'all. After waiting a full week for the lab to call me to schedule my AS, I finally call them, and they say they have no record of my doctor ordering the ultrasound. So I call my doctor and they tell me that it might take awhile for the lab to process the orders (7 freaking days??), but that they would resend the order. I'm thinking that someone dropped the ball and they are just saving face. So here I am waiting...again.
@mrs_tacos thank you so much! It's rough, and I honestly didn't think anything like that could cause so much stress for people not directly involved. It's crazy! Thank you for your kind words
@beccam1230 If it makes you or your DH feel better, I'd still fly United if it was the cheapest flight. But you better be sure I'd take the $800 if they asked me to leave a flight. But yeah, it's crappy how a whole company gets blamed for the actions of a few.
My WTF goes to whatever is going on across the street from my house. The whole damn day, there has been this loud, incessant beeping that literally will not stop. It sounds like a truck backing up? I think they are doing some sort of construction on the school across the street and it is driving me bonkers.
@sarahufl Constant beeping is so annoying. There was a smoke alarm that kept beeping for a week in the apartment complex next to mine. I was like OMG.. is this not annoying anyone else?
@mrsmarygs yeah I think almost everyone still will fly if it's the cheapest! Also, I totally agree... someone offers me $800 and a free hotel, I'm gonna take it! But you are right, it definitely is crappy
@beccam1230 I'm flying United in a few weeks! And will continue to fly them because they're almost always the cheapest out of my home airport. I'm also sorry that the entire incident is negatively affecting you guys and other employees that weren't involved.

My WTF award goes to my GI system! Sorry for the TMI, I've been having intestinal cramping since Monday and today it went full blown diarrhea. Then of course my dumb self googled and came up with possible preterm labor, which sent me into a complete frenzy. DH called my OB and luckily they said there's a stomach bug going around. Not that I want that, but I'll take it if means they're not worried about the LO!
@wyomama0427 I AM SO SORRY! I know we had talked in length about the corpsman program! When DH was a recruiter this happened to way too many people that were truly passionate about joining.
My WTF goes to an admin staff member here at work. 1st of all she has taken it upon herself to nickname my child "peanut", she has also decided that I am having a boy and will refer to my child as HE for the foreseeable future and will have to correct her if it isn't a boy. I have told her we like to call baby....Baby, until we know the gender, and that is when she went on this diatribe about how Baby is a boy. And today....today....today she asked how my little peanut is doing as we were walking into an office meeting, and i replied with "still in there" and she has the audacity to tell me "You are the most unfun pregnant woman I have ever met." I turned with a QUICKNESS and snapped *TW* "When you've had 3 consecutive losses it's not always fun and games to discuss my pregnancy with the world, it kind of takes all that extra fun out." and I really wanted to add:
haha when anyone at work asks me how the baby is doing i reply with the same, "still in there"....i get weird looks... also one coworker has gone as far as calling him her godson ....ummmm noo........same coworker touched my belly once and i stopped that right away... sorry this is one pregnant girl who will not have her belly touched by everyone *sigh*

@beccam1230 I'm so sorry about all of that! Like some others have said, I would still fly united based on price. What I can't stand is that people's ignorance of not fact-checking can ruin or disrupt people's lives. One of my very biggest pet peeves. Not everything you hear or read is true.
@beccam1230 Like everyone else said, it really sucks that the entire company is having to suffer for one incident.... hopefully it will all blow over soon. I really don't even know much about what happened, but you better believe my happy ass would take a later flight for $800.
@Swazzle@iheartichi@HollyGolightly09 thank you ladies, you always make me feel better! I gotta say, if this has taught me anything, it's how much an entire group can suffer from an isolated incident. But I do agree.. I definitely would have taken the 800 and happily left without a problem!
@mrs_tacos I would be super pissed by the condescending attitude of his aunt toward your writing. How dare she insult the skill, talent, imagination and sheer work it takes create a work of art such as a novel.
Reading takes me to another world and I am willing to pay a lot of money for those experiences.
All truly successful novelists have to go through soooo much to get their work to its final destination and publication. Her calling it "little stories" like it's a throwaway hobby is extremely insulting.

ALL of this. So much. Writing is HARD. It's just like writing songs or poetry, words still matter. Sentence structure and fluency matter. I wouldn't ever say something like that so someone who writes, not cool at all.
@beccam1230 I'm sorry for the stress your family has to go through with this situation. I have flown united several times and have never had any issues. I think that everything will eventually blow over but it may take time. But I would never judge an entire company based on one individual incident.
@DPandMB Wow! Does she have that baby inside her? No. Did she have any part in making that baby? No. Then why does she think it's hers! Ugh. Sounds like my sister. She keeps referring to it as "our" baby.
@Msashley2010@wyomama0427 Thank you both so much! Writing is 90% unseen and thankless work, so people who still appreciate the art are my very favorite people.
@DPandMB Um, no. HER baby is THIS babies daddy. I would shut that shit down.
@mrs_tacos I agree with the other ladies about writing. I wrote a few novels in high school and college, and I understand the YEARS of work it takes to get a concept not just down on paper, but edited and then all the work that goes into pursuing publication. Honestly it was too much work for me, so for now my writing only circulates in my friend group. But very few people have any idea what goes into a book. Just wait until you get published and can shove that book into her face while juggling a baby on your hip. P.S. Remember us when your famous!
@mrs_tacos Yeah, don't let her snarky comments bother you. I'm envious of anyone who an finish a book... that's really impressive! I've started two, but can't stop editing my own writing enough to actually get through it.
@DPandMB I hate that! I'm annoyed that my mom calls him our baby. If she called him her baby, I would bite her head off. Your baby is your baby, not hers, end of story.
I'm so glad you ladies get me. She did this with DD too. Always said she was going to get a crib since "her" baby would be there all the time. F that noise.
