What I'm trying: spicy food, pineapple, raspberry leaf tea, sex (although not in the last few days because I'm exhausted), walking 1-2x/day, bouncing on exercise ball.
Next steps: I discussed with my OB yesterday and the plan we agreed upon is to wait until 41 weeks before deciding on further intervention. I'm still making progress with dilation (at least 2 cm) and am 90% effaced at this point, so I'm hoping LO will come on her own before next Wednesday's appt. If not, OB says I'll be a good candidate for induction should I choose to go that route. DH really wants to schedule an induction as soon as possible after 41 weeks.... I am less sure.
My main rant is that I just feel emotionally drained. It's frustrating to be told your body is ready to go into labor but to wake up every morning with no signs that labor is about to start. I feel pretty grumpy most of the time which is really out of character for me. Don't really want to talk to other people and explain what's going on over and over again. Just want to meet her.
@schef070911 I totally understand how you're feeling! I was induced at 42+1 with DD1 with no signs of labour even in the slightest! I went for lots of walks and watched a lot of price is right those two weeks and before you know it she'll be here! Best wishes
I'm due today but no sign of baby coming yet so I'll go ahead and post haha maybe he'll decide to prove me wrong
What I'm trying: walking, curb walking, bouncing and circles on the ball, dates, pineapple with the core, raspberry leaf tea... also trying to convince my husband we should be having sex but we'll see about that one. Planning on spicy curry this weekend if baby still hasn't come!
How I'm feeling: Mostly OK, ready to meet my sweet baby boy, but not feeling overly antsy yet, I have a house cleaner scheduled to come tomorrow for a deep clean, and my mom gets here Sunday so I am hanging in there for these things.
I do have TONS of pelvic pressure and sharp jolts in my cervix so I'm hoping I'm making progress. I was 1-2cm and 50% at 39+4. I feel like someone punched me in the crotch today.
Next steps: Stretch and sweep Monday morning at 40+4. Ny provider said she would give me a "really aggressive" one since I would be overdue. Foley bulb is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, and inductions Thursday morning at 41. Hoping baby decides he's ready to come!
3 days overdue. I'm exhausted and frustrated! I think I've tried every old wives tale/natural induction tip and nothing. Lost my mucus plug a week and a half ago and from my appointment on Monday I'm still not dilated even a tiny bit. I'm so drained and people calling or texting me everyday asking if baby is here yet is driving me nuts. I am this close to ripping someone a new one! I'm an emotional mess! Next step is being induced on Tuesday which I'm not looking forward to! I really hope he will just come on his own
Sorry you're having a rough time @mommybrasil! The constant messages sure don't help anything!! Hopefully baby decides to come, but even if not you are seriously in the final count down with a scheduled induction! Hang in there and vent here whenever you need to!
I'm 40 weeks + 4 days with baby 3. My other two came early and on time so going over is new. Emotionally, I'm a bit of a wreck. I thought for sure with my history he'd be here by now. Instead, I'm barely holding it together for my kids.
What I've tried: Walking, bouncing, pelvic tilts, red raspberry leaf tea, sex (although it's been a few days), and trying to relax.
Next step: NST on Sunday (41 weeks) where they will do a cervical check and possibly sweep membranes if I need it. Then I will have an NST every couple days until the baby is here or I get an induction at 42 weeks.
I'm so over being pregnant and I just want to have this baby here. It's SO frustrating when my body has done this twice and yet this third time there seems to be something not clicking right. I've had cramps for two weeks straight and yet nothing! Argh!!!
That must be hard @pinkshades05 when you feel like you know what to expect based on having been through it twice before and then your body and baby decide to do something totally different. Hopefully baby will decide to come soon for you!
I am not yet overdue with this baby, but I was overdue with DD2. I hope it's not overstepping for me to post on this thread.
Before I had been overdue, I used to tell overdue moms "Oh just be patient, the baby comes when he/she is ready", etc. Then I was overdue myself and I didn't want to hear any of that crap. LOL. It's so much different when it's you!
What finally helped for starting labor was chiro visit when I told her to pull out all her tricks to help me start labor, then an hour of curb walking (same distance both sides) with my belly support brace on, then doing nipple stim while I rolled around on my birth ball.
I hope you guys all have your babies soon. I have a feeling I will go over with this baby as well.
I'm not yet overdue, but can I just say I am so glad I have yet to hear a mention of Caster Oil on this board. Those posts on my BMB with DS would make me crazy!!!
@rachelmiller03 Ugh... I read something about castor oil on the internet.... no thanks.
@MWoodside I'm going to have to start trying curb walking - I've been going on a walk at lunch at work and trying to get in another one when I get home. I've also been wondering about my belly support brace so I'm glad you mentioned that - it feels wonderful to have it on, but I wondered if it would keep the baby from putting enough pressure on the cervix to do anything. So I've been trying to do it without.
@schef070911, I think it depends how you are carrying. I carry super low. So without the brace, the baby couldn't engage b/c the angle was wrong. If you aren't carrying super low the brace may not be helpful for you. I know I need to get my act together and wear it with this baby for the same reason, but I find it super uncomfortable.
40+ 1 here....no signs of labor..no contractions, cramping, braxton hicks
I had an appointment yesterday and they did NST, baby is great and it showed I have no contractions. I go in Tuesday for my next appointment and will have my first cervical check then (I've declined last 4 weeks because they're optional) and membrane sweep (IF I'm dialated)
THINGS I'm DOING I had been doing dates for past month, but not consistent, RL Tea last couple weeks but not consistent. I happened to eat an entire fresh pineapple a couple weeks ago because it sounded good...so thirsty. We've had sex. Doula emailed me some things I can do including a 30 minute hypnosis thing. I broke a small bone in my foot Sunday so walking is out...though midwife said last week that will not induce labor, only help labor.
I'm just taking it one day at a time...supposed to be a beautiful weekend and we have some things to do so we're just going about our business!
I'm trying to be as nice as possible with family check ins...."We'll let you know when we have an update"
Update: Baby Landon arrived at 5 days late. I went to bed with no signs of labor, woke up at 1am with contractions, and he was born 5 hours later at 6:41am. My only advice is to make sure you don't overdo it on the exercise! I bounced and walked more than I should have and ended up with a sore back. It made labor even tougher because I couldn't find a good position to labor in.
Good luck, everyone!! I hope your babies arrive quickly!
Due today. Anniston is showing no signs of arriving today, ugh.
Trying: I was trying all the things but then stopped bc it obviously wasn't working and I just want to relax
whats next: dr tmrw and probably getting another sweep although the last one was useless. Hopefully talk induction tmrw as well. My OB doesn't let anyone go over 41 weeks but I'm hoping she will induce at 40+5 bc my nieces birthday is when I would be 41+1 and my little sisters birthday is when I would be 41+3 and I really don't want Annie to have to share a birthday.
40+4 today, and had an appt this morning for a sweep. She said I was 2cm and 70%effaced. A week ago I was 1-2 and 50%. I have had some light cramping so I guess we'll see what happens. Fingers crossed for baby to be ready to come!!
40+1 today. Had a sweep. Still at 1cm but I feel like she's just being nice about that. I'm super frustrated. Looking at being induced in 10 days. I just can't even with that news right now. I'm so frustrated.
I'm here. I always knew I would be, really. Sigh. 40+1 today, appointment tomorrow. I'm not sure if they'll do a check or sweep or anything. I kinda want to ask, though. I've been having sporadic tightening/pain/cramps for a week or so already but nothing steady at any point.
I mentioned this in the Sunday ticker change, but I'm just kinda resigned to the fact that I'm overdue with no real signs of anything happening. I went 9 days over with DD and had no signs of labor at all until I started losing my mucus plug a few hours before contractions started. Please God, don't let me go that far over this time
I had my first child on his due date. Tomorrow is my due date for this baby. Has anyone seen the fruit comparison for the size of baby for 40 weeks from the bump? Yikes it's a freakin watermelon ! Well I'm staying patient but my toddler is refusing to nap today. So exhausted! Full moon tomorrow everyone !
40+5 Appt TODAY: I had my first check (declined all up to this point).
I am 1.5 cm dialated, 80% effaced, soft, -1 fetal station, & slightly posterior. She was able to do a membrane sweep. They did an NST and all was fine(I was having some decent contractions but I couldn't feel them). I had a little spotting by time I left plus more loss of mucus plug.
We will talk about induction at my appt Friday. They're recommendation is no more than 10 days which is Sunday. I said if all is good then (after NST & ultrasound) I'd like another appt Monday to then set date. I calculated my Bishop Score which is a 7...8 is good for induction so that makes me feel good. I asked about induction methods and she said I would be good candidate for Foley bulb which is a balloon thing and not meds. Of course I am just hoping I can go on my own :-)
@WkoutMomtoBe glad to have a due date buddy with similar stats, but sure wish these babies would hurry up for us!!
I'm doing pretty well over all... ready to get this show on the road though. Not overly frustrated or anxious, but definitely tired at this point. Lots of pelvic pressure and lightning crotch and increasing BH but no regularity or pain associated with them.
If the baby doesn't come on his own soon, we have an appt for a foley tomorrow afternoon at 40+6 and then we go home over night and return for the induction process Thursday morning at 41. I wish I had more time to try to let him come on his own but my clinic doesn't induce on the weekends and doesn't want people to go past 41+3 so here we are. I'm at peace with the idea of induction overall I guess even though it isn't ideal.
Physically I feel fine...I'm spotting a bit but that's bc of the check/sweep. Maybe a tad pressure here or there. We'll see what happens tonight and next few days.
Emotionally I'm okay too and I thought the family n friend messages had died down but they're back..."Are you walking to get baby out?", etc. Also, I was really hoping to have baby by now and be home for Easter. I want a yummy Easter gosh darn it.
Here's to hoping something happens for us soon! That's great they'll start with Foley bulb for you.
Well terrible day for us today. In case anyone following this thread is not on the Facebook page... they bumped us from the schedule today for our foley/induction and now we are just waiting. Hoping to get to go Friday when the on call doc switches over to someone more reasonable (and less rude)... but the provider today was trying to convince us to wait until Monday even though this appt has been on the books for three weeks.
I'm officially overdue and irritated about everything. I have a routine appointment tomorrow and I'm really hoping my OB will talk about am induction. Both DD and DS were born at 40+3, which will be tomorrow. Hoping this baby is following that trend...
41 weeks today, any minute now...any minute. I don't want to get induced but will do if it is necessary . And I have GD, so this waiting feels like forever. But I know it's temporary. Almost there ! Can't wait to have my baby in my arms . And to have an everything bagel with cream cheese:) And for my toddler's i teeth to come in!
Well, here we are 40 + 4. I'm insanely uncomfortable and so ready for this kid to be born. I'm hoping tonight or tomorrow something happens. The baby's movements are so big and insane that it's fairly painful when he or she moves and I'm getting concerned about size. Fingers are crossed...
Third baby and this is my first time being overdue, now 40+2. First of all, this is bs. Babies should be required to show up by now. LOL! I'm officially on maternity leave, so that's nice. Had a second membrane sweep yesterday, intense contractions last night for several hours, took a nap, and they were gone when I got up. SUCH A SAD PANDA. I've had a few good ones this morning so we'll see if something gets going.
41 weeks today. Lost my mucus plug, and baby feels low, but not one contraction. Induction is scheduled for Wednesday at 6am, so, really 3 days to go. It feels like forever and I'm just getting irritable and grouchy.
Hang in there, ladies!! Not a title I would have wanted to win, but here's hoping none of you beat me for Farthest Overdue April 2017 Mama! I'm pretty sure I'm "winning" at the moment with 12 days...
Unless baby comes in the next hour, I am joining overdue club. I was 2cm dilated on Thursday and have lost parts of my plug on two separate occasions since then but no contractions lately. I'm trying not to be too frustrated. DD was one day early so this is new territory for me. My house was clean and fridge ready for baby a few days ago. Now it's all getting messy again. Come on little girl!
