Unfortunately my Dr said I need to take it extra easy this weekend. So other then taking DD to get pictures with the easter bunny I'll be laying around.
I've been super absent the last few days due to work being crazy. My surgery was officially scheduled for April 20th which is a week earlier than I expected which means I am in a bit of a panic mode to get everything done I need to. DS breaking his leg hasn't helped. To everyone who has been in L&D good luck, I'm thinking about you! Hope everyone else is gearing up for a relaxing weekend (I'm currently awake with DS who has been up since 3:30 and is just now falling back asleep).
I'm heading to a child birth class in the next hour or so. Other than that, nothing else going on but I'll probably start gathering items for my hospital bag.
Take it easy you two! I know there's much to be done but it will get down
I'm being a bad friend and now going to a friend's daughter's birthday party. I'm exhausted, my back hurts, and completely overwhelmed with the state of our apartment and nursery. So, my mom is going to come up and help with that and go to Costco. H has a dad's only class tomorrow at the hospital. Should be fun and interesting for him! Other than that we'll probably still work on the apartment and just hang out.
Hoping all all is well for those in L&D!!

My weekend is over today. And I got nothing productive done. Last week I made my hospital bag list and was SUPPOSED to do it this weekend. Oops. I'll try to get it done this week
TTC1: May 2015
Primary IF May 2016; Failed HSG; Scheduled Lap Sept. 2016
After moving 3 weeks ago and entertaining visitors every weekend since, I'm relieved that I don't have much going on this weekend. Except we still need to do our taxes. Ew.
@BabyMC517 my H went to a dad's only class, they spent the entire time complaining about how nobody cares about them. haha! Hopefully yours will actually learn something! @WombThereItIs Hopefully this flight actually goes and your feet only explode half way
We have a 6 hour birth class today, what was I thinking????? It's also the nicest day of the week hopefully so we may go play some frolf afterwards and grill for supper. I would like to work on getting things ready for baby, but we've been doing that all week and there really isn't much to do at this point.
@absbubbs my class is about 5 hours long today and I woke up thinking the same (wth) and it's supposed to be 77 degrees today. At least we get done around 1:30 and should be able to enjoy the rest of the day.
@WombThereItIs Bummer about the extra flight. Sending good vibes it goes well...
I have my baby shower later this morning, super excited. Then I can head to Target and take advantage of their ongoing sale to finish up my shopping for the big items (assuming I don't get them at my baby shower today). Then for the rest of the weekend I want to finish getting the nursery organized. I will be 36 weeks Monday and starting to freak out things won't be done in time.
I am finally fever free 48 hours so I can technically leave the house. But I probably won't much. Today I am missing my best friend's daughter's first birthday party and a friends wedding. Thank you, flu. I'm really sad about it all actually. Trying not to cry about it.
To all those relaxing, enjoy. To those doing baby stuff, yay! To those working, boo.
Also, don't forget to fill out the Hogwarts Admin Poll! We'll close nominations tomorrow afternoon and tally the votes to see who will be our admins in the evening.
MH's dad and stepmom are coming up to visit today. SMIL has never been to ether of the houses we've lived in in the 4 years we've lived together. And they live an hour away. So I'm not even really sure what to make of them coming now. Guess babies really bring everyone around. So we're cleaning/picking up. Well, WE were. Now I'm listening to MH vaccuum and I'm catching my breath. Hah! We have an 7/8hr baby class tomorrow. What were we thinking?? That's a long ass day. But I'm kind of excited. I think it's going to probably make it more real to MH and I suspect there will be some ensuing panic. It will be funny.
@BeachMommy2B and @RainyDays86 take it easy this weekend and be kind to yourselves! @starphish18 I hope your shower goes well!! @WombThereItIs I hope you FINALLY get home and have some time to get some rest!
We will be trying to get stuff ready around the house for baby. I'm only 33weeks so I'd usually wait a couple more weeks but DH will only be home this weekend and next before he heads back out to the field until I'm almost 38weeks. I'm starting to stress about him being gone so close to delivery.

@WombThereItIs I hope you finally get out of the airport today! I don't know how you're still there. I would be renting a car at this point.
@BeachMommy2B I hope you have a restful weekend. Sorry you have to take it easy
@RainyDays86 hope you et everything done so you can not feel stressed before your surgery. Just remember, as long as the bare minimum is done, you're good!
@SKZW I know you asked @Kipperoo but I was induced with DD and it really helped for me to just realize that it was going to be a long process and my doctors were great about explaining why each step was happening. Cervadil, low dose of pit, Foley bulb, breaking my water, etc. For me I was induced due to pre-e and it took 3 days for DD to come. In the end we were both healthy. I'm sorry you're looking at induction! Do you know if they will make you do a mag drip? I think a lot of it is going to be mentally preparing yourself to not be able to walk around a whole bunch. I had to keep the blood pressure cuff on me the whole time. Thinking of you!
@RainyDays86 I'm so sorry to hear that your son broke his leg! Poor kid! @WombThereItIs UGH I hope you make it home soon! Flying is the worst. I hope everyone enjoys their showers and birth classes (even the long ones) this weekend!
I am so thrilled to FINALLY be home after 12 days of non-stop traveling!!! Now I can stop worrying about giving birth out of state and away from H, haha. Sorry I've been mostly out of TB loop during my trips. I have a lot of schoolwork to do over the weekend and H is working today, but I'm looking forward to starting to get our apartment in order for the baby. It's scary how little we have done (we've had a rough few months), but it'll all come together. Hopefully this weekend will make us feel better!
@RainyDays86 sorry your surgery is earlier than expected but I'm glad for you that you have a for sure date. Hoping all goes smoothly for you.
I am visiting my family in tenneseee as my sister had twins (kids #3&4 for her) in January and this is my first time meeting them. Epic sister fail over here.
@RainyDays86 I'd think of it as more time to recover before the little one gets here! Still super scary of course.
I'm doing the hospital tour today, my husband couldn't make it because work so I'm taking one of my best friends with me just for fun. I'm the first one among my friends to be pregnant so it's pretty much new for everyone. On the house front: it looks like we'll be moving next weekend! So exciting.
DD has her first swimming lessons without us in the pool today. She's nervous, so I hope it goes well.
Tomorrow we are going to brunch with my family, dying Easter eggs at my parents', then going to a Little Mermaid play with my best friend, her daughter, my mom, and my grandma. I'm looking forward to it, but it'll be a busy weekend!

@bacorrea: Thank you!! I don't know about the magnesium. I think it's in the realm of possible steps the doc would take but as far as I know, nothing's really set in stone as definite yet.
If it's not too much of a pain, would you copy your reply over to the new thread I just started?
@bacorrea I looked into a car but it would be close to $500 and the drive is over 12 hours. I did it at 22w last time and it was a killer. Nice to know a fellow victim of the foley bulb btw, that thing sucked!
Heading to the the train station now to catch a train to a different airport a little ways or of town and then hopefully things work out.
+1 on needing to finish taxes +1 on the hospital bag. Thank to the spreadsheet I at least have a list, just gotta gather everything!
I started painting around the trim in the nursery so DH can use the roller and finish the walls. I plan to start prepping the baseboard this afternoon so we can put a fresh coat of extra white paint on it. Its looking rather drab at the moment. I ordered this star/moon decal and it shipped from china on march 17. I am still waiting for it to get here!
I am just chillin in the hospital for one more day at least. On a positive note, DD nursed for 50% of her feeds yesterday and still managed to gain weight. My goal today is to get up to the NICU for 5 of her feeds. It's starting to look like we may be leaving the hospital together

Would you mind sharing the decal you got? We're looking for one for ours too. I ended up putting up glow in the dark stars and planets, but would really like a decal and haven't found the right one yet. I'm surprised how challenging it has been to find star/moon/solar system decor!
Good luck today @mcvgal hoping you both get to go home soon!!
@hp_momma and other military spouses: how do you and your kids manage with your Hs away fro so long? My H started a new job last fall and he's been in China soooo much, and leaving again tomorrow. We, like I imagine many of you, live very far from family. DD especially has a hard time with him gone so frequently. I guess I'm looking for any survival tips if you have wisdom to share.
In fun plans, we have an Easter egg hunt tomorrow so that should be fun!
I got everyone out of bed to go to our favorite 'country cookin' place for breakfast, and then we made a Target run. Miraculously, the Fedex truck was in our driveway when we got home to deliver our double stroller that required a signature... talk about timing!!! MH is assembling it in the living room as I offer helpful suggestions ( ), and I plan to take a nap when this task is complete.
@BeachMommy2B - Maybe you can catch a good marathon on the TV!
@RainyDays86 - FX that you can catch up on sleep and that your son's leg doesn't give anyone too many more problems. Don't overdo it trying to get everything completed before surgery.
@WombThereItIs - I saw your airport struggles and wish I lived a little closer so I could have brought you a care basket or something. I'm glad you're finally headed home, and I hope you can get some good aisle walking in to save your legs!
@absbubbs@MrsCPALeslie@ShadeofGreen816 - I remember our class was pretty long when I was pregnant the first time, but they fed us breakfast AND lunch - it was QUITE yummy. Make sure to bring pertinent information back for the rest of us!
My mom and I are doing a infant CPR class this afternoon, and then DD and I will probably hang out with her for the rest of the day since MH has a football game. We don't really have anything else planned for the weekend.
Took DS to soccer this morning and now getting ready to run a few errands. DH's parents called last night to let us know they are flying into town on Monday and will be here for a day. Now I have to spend the weekend stressing about getting our house perfectly clean by myself because DH is working. I wish they would have given us more notice. On the plus side, having them here does give me a little break because they help with the kids and they are actually coming to buy us some new furniture so I can't really complain.

Sorry your surgery got moved, but hopefully it'll be a good thing in the end. @WombThereItIs I hope you make it home eventually, some day!
@llenadevida900 we only have had one deployment from 9-15 months old and then some couple week stretches here and there but for me the best thing was having a good routine. It helped me manage on my own better and I think the reliability and structure was good for my son.
As far as things to keep my husband kind of present in a way he read books and sent the dvd's of him reading home with the book. It was part of a military program but your husband could easily do something similar. Every night we watched one and I would turn the pages and "read" with my son as dad narrated. It was a nice part of our bedtime routine.
@llenadevida900 Definitely keep with a routine. My kids are in a lot of activities to keep them busy. I have noticed that it has gotten more difficult as DD1 has gotten older, she seems to notice that daddy is gone more but still has a hard time grasping how long he will be gone. She is starting to get more upset when daddy misses out on things but I just try to make sure to record as much as I can to send to him. My girls both have a "daddy bear" from Build a Bear that they made with him before he left one time. It has his voice recording and they sleep with it every night. We make sure to listen to his voice every night before we go to bed and my girls know they can "squeeze daddy bear when your missing daddy a lot!" We've also done the recorded books like @WombThereItIs mentioned! Hallmark actually sells recordable books. We try to FaceTime with him as much as possible so the girls can at least "see" him if he is somewhere with phone or internet connection.
