@hp_momma@WombThereItIs thank you for your advice! I know my situation is not unique by any means, and it's hard to keep from feeling resentful when DD is having *another* tantrum and DH is 6000 miles away. The 15 hour time difference is hard on us so we don't FaceTime as much as we should. Maybe we'll try harder for this trip. Thanks again!
You guys my mom is the best! We went to target, where she spoiled us with stuff for the apartment and some maternity clothes (one of the pjs/dresses we talked about on here too!), then to Costco to get some food so that should last us awhile! We split some of the costco stuff so that helped. Then she came back to our apartment and helped move stuff to storage and move furniture in the nursery (I'll post pics in the nursery thread). She really is amazing our place looks like a home now and just need to hang up some pictures. Feels so much better!

@BabyMC517 That's awesome! I'm glad you got some great help and are feeling more prepared! I just booked plane tickets for my mom and MIL to come visit in a few weeks, and I'm sure they'll love doing the same kind of stuff. It sure takes a village to get all of this done!
We had the local March of Dimes March for Babies today. My hips are not impressed with my participation. My sprinkle is tomorrow and my hosts are having it at my house. So DD and I rested while DH cleaned. Now I'm getting a pedi. I'd feel a little spoiled today, but the lady in the chair next to me sounds like death. I'm worried she's contagious.
I'm so hormonal. I started crying making breakfast for no reason and then got irrationally mad at my husband for making us late to the movies. And then wept through the Moana sing along. Send help.
@llenadevida900 DH was deployed from 3mo-16mo so DD wasn't really aware. I second what @WombThereItIs and @hp_momma said. Also something really fun for older kids is a Daddy wall! You can get a map and put a pin where Dad is and draw to where you are. Have a place for letters/colorings for Dad, two clocks to show what time it is for you guys and then what time it is where Dad is, and lots of pictures of the kids with Dad. Sometimes something tangible for the kids to look at is helpful. You can also do a countdown jar "kisses from Daddy" and fill it up with Hershey kisses the kids get one each day until he comes home, plus they see the amount in the jar getting smaller.
If you search "deployment wall" on Pinterest it will come up with lots of ideals!
@bacorrea I REALLY need to do the countdown jar this time for DD1. She's having a rough go understanding when daddy will be back as she doesn't quite grasp how long "two weeks" or "xxx days" is yet.

@WombThereItIs, I love the recorded book idea! That's such a sweet thing to do when your husband is away.
DH and I are filling in at another camp this weekend (hopefully this is the last time because they just hired a new director). It's really nice in a way because there's no internet or TV, so in between serving meals we've been reading, napping, and spending time together. We even went for a little hike today, which I was super proud of myself for doing. But on the other hand, we're moving in 3 weeks and I want to be home packing! I'm hoping to go home and get some of it done tomorrow.

@NotAPlaya-JustCrushAlot - I read 'the lady in the choir next to me sounds like death' and thought... "That poor woman! She's probably singing her heart out!" I hope you didn't catch anything!
I work this weekend, so worked Friday night and getting ready to head to work here shortly. I *should* have been sleeping all day but DH was working on putting windows in the nursery which is next door to the master. So instead I was up at 12:30 because of the noise after falling asleep at 8:00. Tonight should be a great night. I'm mostly just irritated that I had the last two weekends off and he chose to not do them then and instead do them on the one weekend I worked.
DH watched the kids and let me take a nap this afternoon after he got home from work. I had such a bad headache going that I got no cleaning done. Oh well, I'll try again tomorrow. In the meantime I feel a lot better!

After days of looking at the same four walls I finally got to escape my room and went on a wheelchair adventure with one of the nurses. We sat in the sun and I experienced fresh air for what felt like ages, then toured around. Sooooo happy to see real civilization!
@SKZW, I posted in the induction thread, too, but then just came across this tag...I am mostly blocking from my mind that the induction is impending. I guess because there isn't much I can really do to prep for it. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude about the whole thing and just remembering that it will play out at its own pace!
As for my weekend, my mom got into town this morning in anticipation of the induction/helping to take care of DS. DH and I went out to a swanky new restaurant tonight, tomorrow DH and I are having brunch with some friends that are moving to Brussels, and DS and I have a play date. Nothing really baby related planned, just trying to do a "last call" on some of our normal things befor baby girl arrives next week. Monday, my mom and I are doing a mani/pedi, lunch, shopping date. Checking into the hospital at 7:00am Tuesday!!
I tried doing a search for this, because I know we've discussed belly binders somewhere, but I wasn't finding this answer. Are postpartum belly binders only for c-sections?
@starphish18 my SILs swear they helped them feel normal since you get that "my organs are out of place" feeling. I had a Csection so the hospital gave me one, they had to buy theirs (we also delivered at different hospitals so that could have something to do with it too).
Guys, my poor dog can't catch a break. So we have 9 acres at our house so we let him out on his own and he wanders our property and comes back in when we call him. When it's dark out we have a led collar that he wears so we can spot him. Earlier tonight I let him out and he wandered into our neighbors yard and was hanging with their goats. The owner saw his collar and grabbed him and called me to get him. As I was getting there, their small dog bit him on the butt and he's bleeding I know he shouldn't have wandered out of our property but I feel so bad. He won't stop licking it so I know it hurts him. He's sleeping on me now, but my heart breaks for him.
@starphish18 definitely not just for c section moms! I used a belly bandit after I had my son- it just felt like everything was jiggling around in the wrong way after he was born. I'm putting mine in my hospital bag this time around.
@Jens_Hoes aww now i feel bad for your dog too. Poor puppy.
Went on my hospital tour today, it was kinda fun. Things are getting real here in a hurry. I like that they have jacuzzis in the birthing suites. The suites themselves are okay, nothing fascinating, but they'll do. And you get your own nurse assigned just to you for labouring. And they have postpartum massages! I'm SO getting one. I think.
I'm home! Only got 4 hours of sleep before my toddler woke up but he was so happy to see me, it was awesome.
A smoke detector is beeping about every minute. Odds I'm going to be able to reach it? Ha! My husband is on call so I have to but his could get comical pretty fast.
@WombThereItIs: Yay, you're home! It only took 4 extra days. Geez. Seriously. You could've taken the pony express faster than that. And that's really sweet your little man loved on you so much.
I apparently woke up in a bad mood. Just everything making me mad. Ugh I hate these days...H looked all upset that I was in a bad mood right before he left for his dad's only class. So I sent him a text and told him sorry and he can complain about me all he wants to the other dads.
Eta: just talked to H and started crying...seriously hormones? Enough!

Eh now I'm not so sure, @bacorrea I thought I found a place but the more I think about it I think the landlord will be a huge PITA and I was ignoring some red flags in my haste.
Wont see my husband to talk over our options until tomorrow. I'm leaning towards just picking something sight unseen or having him go back out next week when he is on leave for turkey hunting.
I'm sure it's just because I've been dehydrated for like 4 days but everytime my clingy 35 lb toddler demands to be held and carried it feels like my cervix is going to explode.
Sorry @BabyMC517. I hope you're feeling better now.
Congrats @schnitz9! I hope you're both doing well today.
Glad you made it home @WombThereItIs but wow what an ordeal. And I absolutely know what you're talking about with the challenge of a needy toddler + third trimester. I told myself I was going to start to try limiting carrying him but it's hard when he only wants mom.
I'm in Portland (hi @chailife34!!) this weekend for my cousin's baby shower. It has been such a nice weekend especially with so much family around to help with DS. It is also the first time I've seen the majority of my family since my diagnosis and I think it was really good for them to see me and see that I'm doing fine and not at death's door or anything. But now I am really dreading going back tonight and facing the reality of an incredibly busy last full week of work next week. I really should have spent this weekend working to catch up on stuff. This weekend was good for the soul for sure, but I know it's going to cause a lot of stress this coming week.
Hi @RainyDays86 !! You picked a lovely time to visit with the cherry blossoms in full bloom. The weather seemed mostly nice this weekend too. Hope you enjoyed your stay! Glad you had a nice time with family
@WombThereItIs Glad you finally made it home! @RainyDays86 Seeing family and a needed "good for the soul" couple of days is important. Just take this week one day at a time. Glad you had a nice hospital tour @thistle@BabyMC517 Sorry about your pup @Jens_Hoes. Hope you have a better Monday @BabyMC517. To all with showers, hope it was fun!
I'm finally feeling better after the flu, but pregnancy nausea wants to be my friend today. Dreading work tomorrow!
@schnitz9 congratulations!!! Hope baby makes a quick exit from the NICU
I feel like I've been MIA from everything this weekend. I also really need to pack my hospital bag but have no motivation. I have mini toiletries in the target bag from the store in my dresser. That's the closest I've gotten...
Thanks @RainyDays86@thistlenweess and @ jayandaplus the day got better. I got stuff done around the apartment (laundry and what not) and caught up on shows. H went to his dad's only class and seemed to like it. Not all complaining H is pretty understanding just takes a minute haha Which is understandable

Your poor pup @Jens_Hoes. I'm such a softie about that stuff.
Who was it that hat had a sore spot this week? I woke up with the very top of my uterus feeling sore. Ugh. Did she punch me all night?
