@antoto I'm so sorry, I wish you didn't have to move forward with IVF. It's impossible not to have those hopes of maybe it'll be me. Sending you lots of love and hugs friend.
So sorry @antoto. Like @LuND said it's natural to always hold out that hope that the next step you're planning for won't be needed. FX that your IVF journey is as painless and successful as possible.
@safire3 I vote to call the insurance company if you're not sure. I don't feel like one or 2 phone calls will create that much extra stress and saving money is good. Just don't have super high hopes about it.
@antoto Hugs. I wish we could all be SS. I think its totally normal to be nervous about IVF, its a big deal. That being said the chances of success are so much higher. I pray this the the route that will get you a take home baby @safire3 sorry your having trouble picking a urologist for a second opinion. FWIW I would try calling the insurance company to see if you can save some money... It could be as simple as a coding error. Also I don't know about your insurance company but ours has a prompt pay discount where if I call and pay over the phone they knock 10% off the bill. They don't do that if I pay on line or with a check. Over the last 2 years I've probably saved close to 1,000 that way.

TTC 1/2012 Diagnosed : unexplained infertility 6 rounds of IUI and a MC 2/2014, rainbow twins 4/2015 TTC #3 5/2016 Restarted Fertility tx IUI 2 rounds, baby girl 12/17
My progesterone level from today (8DPO, although they think I may have O'd a day later, so possibly 7DPO) is 17. I'm not excited but not disappointed. I know anything over 10 indicates ovulation, so it's good that I O'd. But that doesn't seem high enough to me to get my hopes up. I was expecting it to be higher though since I'm taking progesterone suppositories...
So I just got back from my RE appointment a little while ago. My diagnosis is unexplained as the only test that came back was slightly high fsh (10.6) amh was good. I met with the nurse today who discussed the treatment options that my RE recommended as well as other options. She was okay but I like my RE and the way he explains things much better. Looks like she's the case management nurse so this may be my first and only time meeting with her as the RE does everything else. So he doesn't feel that we need an IUI because DHs SA results were very good, 189mil, 65%motilty and 28% morphology. So basically if I'm not KTFU this cycle I'll be doing Femera and TI. She said we could go straight to injectables if we wanted to but I'd rather start with the femera first.
I do have a question about uterine thickness. Do any meds help with it? Looks like at my ultrasound Friday (4dpo) ((which I only had because of my pain from the hsg))my lining was 8mm. Not sure what average thickness is?
*lurking* @beachbunnyxo123 If I remember correctly from research I did a couple cycles ago, most doctors like to see 7-8 mm thick for the lining. I know mine was only around 5 one cycle and it concerned me so I looked into things to increase it.
"It's time to try defying gravity."

@beachbunnyxo123 just a thought about IUI. My RE explained that it can also be good if your cervix is hostile to sperm, if you have lots of sperm anti bodies, etc. My RE had us do IUIs even though H tested normal for SA.
@antoto that's a great point! I know she didn't take IUI off the table but she said we didn't need to start with it. How many medicated cycles happen before an IUI is considered typically?
I feel you all on the daily threads and the fact that I'm just tired of getting to know new people and getting invested in their lives and reading stuff about how they're soooooo certain they'll be KU ASAP because they're so good at trying. And I know that they don't mean it crappy and it's because they just don't get it--that they're just as likely as any of the rest of us to have IF, it still sucks. And then they do get KU and peace out in a cloud of, "OMG! Thanks for everything you taught me! I'm gonna be lurking and rooting for you allllll!! Kiss-kiss!!" *Poof!*
@laurad75 I hope AF comes soon so you can move forward.
@Anna_1021 I know what you mean about the IUI success rates. While I'm sure I'll still get my hopes way up, I try to look at each thing as a step. So instead of looking at each individual IUI as the magic cure, they're checking boxes so we can keep moving forward. Maybe they didn't have the magic solution for you but you have a new starting point. To answer your question, heck yes, you should do a hunt with your friends.
@wabash15 Your clown car comment made me think of those Puppy/Kitty Surprise toys they used to have.
@LoveInDC I hope that YH can maybe come to a future appointment or that your doctor has some good materials for him. H was kind of like that with me when w started approaching 12 months. "Oh, soandso tried for a long time but that worked out." "Oh, it'll happen." "Don't worry." DUDE. Google the stats. You Google everything else! I hope you can get some more answers and direction soon. As for the baby blankets, what if your sister were to talk to the other grandkids and maybe they could all agree to take one out of circulation if they start getting worn out. Or, maybe someone who is good at crocheting could turn those two blankets into 12 lovey-sized blankets so everyone gets a piece to keep? (I'm picturing adding edging and cutting them up).
@JuneRoseRuby The part about how you should have a baby that your parents are doting on really resonated with me. Same. While yes, my sister who has kids does live closer to them than I do, and my parents are awesome about not pressuring or playing favorites I still feel like they would be more likely to come visit if we had a baby. And like your mom, mine has been stockpiling stuff for years. She's so sweet like that. I'm pretty sure that she already has take home from the hospital outfits set aside for a boy or a girl.
@kiwi2628 Have they done any testing yet or are you meeting, then testing? Probably the #1 question to ask would be how to ask more questions. I went into it knowing pretty well how it was going to go and what they were going to say but I still forgot to ask a lot of the questions I had. How detailed was the paperwork you filled out before? One of the questions on mine that I thought was helpful was why each of us thought that I wasn't getting pregnant. So she could evaluate and decide if she thought it was an issue or if it turned out that it was just an imaginary problem, she could reassure us. @vflux33 had a lot of good points. It would be helpful for you to put your supplements into an Excel so you can show what/how much/when you're taking things. Go ahead and print your charts and any test results you already have. It's highly unlikely they'll be interested in your chart but on the off chance, it's good to be prepared. Basically, the goal for this one is to be prepared to answer all of their questions. And, I just want to make sure you know that even if they don't go there immediately, make sure to do an SA up front. H's was billed at $125. Which is suuuuuper cheap compared to an HSG. May as well make sure that that isn't the issue before you go for the HSG. And while we're at it and I'm being bossy, I'll just say that I wish I had started with the acupuncturist sooner. I'm glad I'm going and H is glad he's going. Not sure what your coverage is like but I wish I had been doing that for the last few months. I'm still more than ready to do that and a medicated IUI but I wish a little bit I had given it a chance to work. Looking forward to hearing how your appointment goes!
@magnolia131 and @antoto I always appreciate here when people can have open and honest conversations seeking to share individual stories and perspectives and to understand others' stories and perspectives. All of this sucks but one of the good things is learning to understand others more. Thank you both for your conversation.
@heatherdubrow We're here for you. Take care of yourself.
@antoto Maybe it's because we had more people who decided to stay here rather than going to the IF board? This one feels like home and while I lurk IF and TTCAL on occasion, I just wanted to come back to the place I knew and now I don't want to leave the place I know. I guess it would be one thing if I were just joining TB but with everything else, I didn't want to change boards. I'm so sorry that it looks like AF is coming and that this one is the harbinger of IVF.
@vflux33 Yeah, I'm probably going to shift my bone broth cooking to when H is at work. Summer will be nice because I'll be able to open windows.
@beachbunnyxo123 My RE's office said that an 8 is typical for right around O. You're within a few days so if they didn't seem concerned, I wouldn't worry.
@safire3 I would call insurance. Maybe you get nothing but maybe you'll get a chunk back.

@beachbunnyxo123 It's common to do 3 medicated TI cycles prior to doing IUI. Sometimes people just need a little bit of help and you gradually increase the level of assistance as desired/required. I started with IUI because I was willing to pay for it and didn't want to mess around.
@kiki75 Yeah, like I said before I am doing the daily threads, but your description is, unfortunately, very accurate. I think that's a big part of why I left here for 5 months. I had already been trying long enough by then to be a bit touchy but not long enough to see a RE so the ongoing graduations became tough. May be a bit of an age average difference too. There are some people in this thread in their 20s, but seems to trend more 30+ than the daily threads (or maybe I'm just imagining that).
Interesting what you said about acupuncture--I have been meaning to go and even chose one in my area but haven't made the leap to call yet. Do you think it's bad to make an initial acupuncture appointment during the TWW? Do you do any appointments at yours during your TWW or do you only go when WTO?
I freeze half of my bone broth in a glass jar every time I make it so I don't have to stink up the house as frequently. Also I think the beef bone broth smells much worse/more intense than the chicken.
@beachbunnyxo123 your uterine lining thickness is good. They usually look for 7.5+ with 8 being the more common benchmark. My lining tends to be thin 5.5-6.5mm so I take estrogen to thicken the lining. Both of our RE's have had us go streight to IUI even though DH has a normal SA. I don't think its wrong to try TI first or go strait to IUI. @kiki75 impressive responses!! I too have recently had a hard time with the daily threads because I don't want to get attached to all the new people only to have them move on and me still be here.... I find I participate more when I see more of the long term ladies participate (I guess its a vicious circle)

i agree with @kiki75 I do participate in the dailies but I like it much more when there is ladies from here there. I feel like there is a lack of understanding sometimes while I'm sure it's unintentional. I know I'm only on cycle 15 and that there are others who have been trying much longer and although I understand the let down of anyone trying any cycle and not being successful it's hard to see the ones who are so let down because it's 2/2 and hasn't happened yet.
@kiki75 I doubt DH will ever make an appointment unless he has to go and takes off for it. I hope he tries to read up and learn, but I don't think he ever will. I guess he'll live in the land of naive optimism *shrug* Those are nice ideas for the baby blankets, but I'm not sure how well it will go over. Either way, I can knit/crochet so I can repair them if it comes to that. I just hope it doesn't come to that.

Hugs to all of us, all the time, as a matter of fact. God IF blows. I had dinner with friends last night, and one of them is also trying to get KU. She's fighting for a PCOS diagnosis, and has been through ridiculous hoops. It was nice to commiserate with an IRL friend, and I told her all about ISWTE. Hopefully it is helpful.
@kiki75 and @vflux33 OK, so what is this bone broth and why am I just hearing of it? I want to try all the things, and somehow if the things are gross or foul-smelling, they sound so much more worth trying

Definitely do not read the following super long explanation if you aren't interested in bone broth!
@Aurora1973 OK I'm going to start with the huge caveat that, like many other things, not everyone is into bone broth and not everyone believes in its health benefits. There was a lot of hype about it a year or 2 ago and there are some health claims about it that a lot of people find dubious, and I'm neither a nutritionist nor a doctor.
That said, the people who do claim its health benefits basically argue that it is full of minerals we don't get enough of in the typical American (especially "low fat" version) diet. It has a ton of collagen in it, for instance (though there is debate about whether consuming collagen actually does anything for you in regard to your bones). People in the "improving your gut health improves your overall health" camp (GAPS diet--basically they argue that your gut is like a second brain and many people have chronic health conditions made worse by their leaking gut and you have to follow this crazy strict diet to fix your gut to fix your chronic health conditions) are huge promoters of bone broth, as is the Weston A Price Foundation (The Weston A Price Foundation makes a lot of other health claims, in addition to the promotion of bone broth, that you may and many other people on this site may not agree with. Some of their claims are better supported than others. One of the other things the Weston Price Foundation promotes, for example, is raw dairy--IF you know your local farmers and it's made in small batches-- because, they argue, the pasteurization of dairy cooks out a lot of its health benefits. Also they promote the use of lacto-fermented foods [foods that are naturally fermented like non mass produced yogurt and pickles, small batch sourdough bread], and they are really into eliminating soy, they say processed foods are bad, hormone in meats is bad, they think everyone should eat organic as much as possible, etc... in general they say processed white sugar and bread is worse for you than fat and that you need animal fats to create new cells etc --that last part is said specifically in regard to fertility and there is a lot of animal fat in bone broth so that's part of where that comes from.).
Bone broth was one of those things, similar to lacto-fermented foods, that people ate for hundreds and hundreds of years and then stopped making fairly recently when we started all eating McDonalds and boxed macaroni and cheese. It's super easy to make. You basically just throw a whole chicken into a slow cooker with some water and wait 24-48 hours and throw in some sea salt and strain out the bones and you're done. There are recipes online but that's basically all you have to do. I personally believe it has a lot of health benefits, but it's not magic. If you Google you'll find some people who say it's complete BS and you will see other people who claim it cured their arthritis. I think, like a lot of things, the truth is probably somewhere in between those 2 extremes. I eat bone broth regularly, but I also am sort of like a dirty meat eating hippie in a lot of ways, and I do also eat raw dairy on occasion as well as naturally fermented foods. I do not follow the GAPS diet because it is too restrictive, but I have met a few people who do. I don't 100% follow Weston Price recommendations but I try to follow a lot of them most of the time. It's NOT for everyone and it takes a lot of work to follow it.
For those ladies starting/doing IVF. What suggestions do you have for our consultation appointment? I'm so nervous about what the process could be, how long once it starts, how many shots are actually involved...Any thoughts would help calm my crazy.
@antoto Wowza - thanks for the suggestions! I appreciate it. I have taken myo inositol before, and I think I'd like to put that back into the mix. It seemed to do good things for me previously. I'll look into the other ones as well. So sorry you are spotting. No matter how unlikely the cycle is, it's impossible not to have a little hope. It sucks that IVF will have to be your route, but you're almost there and your chances will be so much higher. You are one step closer. Hugs.
@safire3 The hope will have to wait until next cycle for me. No hope for this cycle as TI got cancelled as well. We don't want our own reality show. I also vote that you call the insurance company. Hopefully they'll be able to work something out in your favor, but if not, at least you'll know you tried. I hope you are able to find a urologist that can get you in soon.
@Aurora1973 Enjoy that blissful time before the BSC! That's great you got to talk to an IRL friend about IF. It's helpful to talk with people who actually understand. (You ladies are my people!)
Hello ladies. I hope it's okay that I join this conversation. I just did my introduction yesterday, but have been TTC for 10 months now and just had our 1st appointment.
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) MH and I met with a urologist yesterday. Already had 2 SAs where MFI was confirmed (1st total motile sperm 17.8 million, 2nd total motile sperm 7.1 million). Urologist said varicocele confirmed on H's L side, potentially present on R. Discussed options going forward- going to start with BW to check hormones, US to confirm varicocele dx, and 3rd SA since there was a bit of a difference between the first 2. Then could potentially do microsurgery to correct. Also since I haven't done any other testing than progesterone 7 dpo, they want me to get an initial appt with RE set up.
How are things going? Just trying to process all the information we received and getting appointments set up to move forward. I'm glad we had our first appointment, but there still are a lot of uncertainties and I was hoping to come away with a more straightforward plan, but there are a lot of possibilities. Just overwhelming!
Any questions? I've also tried searching thru past threads, but does anyone else on here have any experience with varicocele or the microsurgery to correct?
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)? We would always do a large easter egg hunt with all of my cousins. Each of us had a certain number of eggs with our initials on them and could only pick up our own eggs! The older cousins always hid eggs and as you got older, the hiding spots were progressively harder. Have never participated in one as an adult, but it might be fun! (especially with the airplane bottles, like @hartmich said!)
Will do my best to respond to as many posts as I can, good practice for this newbie! Sorry if I missed a couple! @leekat14 good luck with the rest of the 2ww!
@laurad75 I'm sorry to hear that. FX for the next cycle!
@Anna_1021 I'm glad you got a good plan after your appt!
@LoveInDC Sorry I can't be of any help answering PCOS questions, but I appreciated the conversation that you, @antoto and @magnolia131 had following the post.
@LuND FWIW, before MH went in, they said they always like to have a 2nd SA to compare different points in time. Also for MH, when calculating total motile sperm, they didn't factor in morphology.
@JuneRoseRuby I'm sorry to hear about your rough weekend, that would get me too.
@TravelingCouple I have found this thread so helpful while lurking, hoping that I can contribute to the wealth of knowledge!
@kiki75 I've been considering acupuncture lately, glad it's going well
@safire3 Hope the 2nd opinion is helpful. We only have 1 urologist who specialized in male fertility in our area, which is hard but we like him so far!
@leekat14 I let my doctor talk first and her speach answered none of my questions. I brought my tablet and typed notes as she answered my questions I had written up. here was my list (spoiler alert, I am neurotic and this list is long.) -what will the protocol be and why -what are the success rates for my diagnosis and age with this protocol -would we be doing a fresh or frozen transfer -can we transfer 2 embryos right off the bat on the first transfer -how many viable embryos do you expect to get from this retrieval -will I have a point of contact for the embryology lab -how often will we get updates on our embryos -what will I pay for a cancelled cycle or if we don't make it to transfer -who is on call the day of my retrieval and how do I get in touch with them if something goes wrong (I didn't ask this but I wish I had) -risks of birth defects associated with ivf
If you're out of pocket and you have a finance person at your office I would ask about discount packages, medicine discounts and the cheapest pharmacy to get your meds through.
And then I had a thousand questions about pgs and assisted hatching.

Holy cow this thread blew up early this week, which I suppose, unfortunately speaks to @antoto's observation.
@laurad75 again, I am so sorry for you and that this cycle/ER have been so sucky. FX your meeting next week goes well and you can get some new direction.
@LuND woohoo for the surprise RE! I'm glad you have an appt scheduled.
@TravelingCouple I hear you on the stabby feels. I'm trying to be a bit better about participating more in the dailies because I've been a bit of a recluse, but there is definitely a divide in experiences happening there. I think @kiki75 nailed most of my feelings on participating in them. Though, you know what @vflux33, you have a point as well.
@antoto I'm sorry that this cycle wasn't it and you have to move on to IVF. Hugs.
Cycle/CD: 17 I think. CD18
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WTO
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Testing, maybe.
How are things going? Not well, but I suppose they can only go up from here. I briefly touched on it, but last week turned out to be just all around awful. On Tues, we found out 3/4 of our kitchen had to be ripped out, that was fine. On Weds morning, I was in a car accident. It was minor and no one was injured, so it's really just a matter of getting my car fixed. And then, the week closed on a real high when I was released from my job.
I've been working on getting out of my job for a while for a variety of reasons, but I really did not see them making a move first coming. H and I have to have a serious discussion about how my now impromptu unemployed status affects our TTC. I suspect that we won't institute any prevention measures, but that we also won't be proceeding to IUI or IVF. This is just super sucky timing, but, in the end is probably a good thing.
Any questions? Nope
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)? Nope, just baskets. I would certainly participate in an adult hunt, though.
@zwink1 oh dear that really is a no good terrible horrible bad week!! I'm sorry it looks like your going to have to delay tx. Hugs. I'm glad you were not hurt in the accident. I hope a new job comes along soon!

@leekat14 Our initial consult went really well and actually answered a lot of the (good) questions @tamalahoops gave you. I have a follow up consult next week to go over more details, so I'm sure I'll update the group after that as well, because I haven't gotten the details on the drugs yet. I've lurked the IF board a lot lately to mentally prepare myself for the injection schedule, and also I've read a few blogs because I'm just the type of person that needs to know what to expect so I can prepare myself .
sjb2215 Welcome, and sorry you have to join us here.
@zwink1 Wow, that sounds like basically the worst week ever and awful that it will be impacting IF treatments. Glad no one was injured in the accident. Hopefully you won't need IUI or IVF or you'll be able to afford it once you get another job. Sending good vibes your way.
@leekat14 It may take a few months to get on an IVF cycle depending on how the clinic sets them up. In general the entire process is about 6 weeks. The first 3 weeks are BCP to suppress the ovaries, followed by about 10 days of stims to grow the eggs. Once the eggs are ready you do a trigger shot and then have the retrieval. If you are doing a fresh transfer embryos will be transferred 3-5 days after retrieval depending on how the embryos are growing. You could get a BFP 5-6 days after a 5 day transfer but betas aren't usually until 10-14 days post transfer. The number of injections usually depends on your clinic and diagnosis. For example, my clinic does progesterone suppositories so I won't have injections after retrieval, but my AMH suggests I will be a low responder so I will likely have more injections during stims.
@sjb2215 Sorry that you're here, but welcome to the board. I hope your stay is short.
@zwink1 That is a seriously terrible week. When it rains, it pours. I hope you are able to treat yourself this week somehow. Hopefully your release from this job will open the doors for new, better jobs. Are you thinking of holding off on the TTC because you want to have a job while TTC?
@zwink1 Wow what a crappy week. Good that in the end you were wanting to leave anyway...But damn poor timing.
@LadyMillil Thank you! That gives me a good idea of what could happen.
@hartmich I am the same way...I just keep reading to try to learn more just to some how calm myself. I know my experience will be different from what I read but based on my fear of needles I feel like I need to prepare myself.
@zwink1 that is a truly awful week. I am so sorry for all of it. I hope you find a new job soon so that you don't have to put off treatments for too long if you do indeed need it. I'm really happy that you were not hurt in the accident though. Hugs to you.
Still a work-overload ghost, but trying to keep up..
I agree with you all on the daily threads. I joined this board only when we were trying for quite a while, thus never got the testing frenzie. But now.. whenever I try to join them (because I do try from time to time) I just feel super tired and.. "old". Been there done that. Which is not a nice feeling to have since those who are lucky enough to get KTFU in a few months deserve just as much support, I'm just...: I feel much more at home with you ladies, here on this board Probably this is why I'm super quilty for ditching everyone for work (but probably you already got that )
@beachbunnyxo123 As for the uterine lining: sure it depends on CD, but my OB always complemented me on how great my lining is, whenever it was 8mm So I'd say that's good. (not kidding on the complementing part, he said things like "the lining is 8 mm I see, wow that is great!" )
@TravelingCouple Abour the progesteron levels my endocrinologist told me that with this BW the only for sure information they get is that we indeed ovulated and have luteum activity (sorry if it is not the right word for it, I am trying to translate these things to english on the fly between meetings . So once it is in the normal range it is fine. Btw on mine I did have like 33, just to start spotting the day after.. :S
....work-ghost off...

Thanks for the love ladies. Sorry trying to catch up.
@antoto I hope WFAF is quick and you can get started on IVF. I know we all hope to be that SS.
AFM: had my annual OBGYN visit yesterday and as I left, she goes, well I hope to see you this summer! (meaning when I am pregnant) and I just looked at her and said, you said that to me last year... Of course she didn't mean to be mean, but what a punch to the gut.

@JuneRoseRuby Ouch that must have hurt a lot. It's a weird place, admittedly, for everyone. A lot of people with great intentions say SUPER thoughtless stuff to me all the time. You simultaneously can't really blame them, but damn that shit hurts.
@JuneRoseRuby Ugh that's a rough one. Sorry you had to hear that. A lot of people just don't get it. One that's been bugging me lately is when people vocalize the misconception that IF treatments have a 100% success rate and that it will "definitely work for you". Uh, no. This isn't a definite thing. That's kind of the point. You can throw a lot of money at this and still come away with nothing.
@vflux33 yeah I get that too. My OB scoffed when I told her H only had three sperm. I was like come on! Filter your MFing reaction B! Then she goes, well you only need one! Ugh, not helpful....

@JuneRoseRuby Ugh, that's rough. My mom and I used to see the same doctor. When I told her about TTC, she said she'd ask my mom for baby pictures at their next appointment :eyeroll: Still nowhere near what your doc did though. @safire3 I vote to call the insurance company if you're not sure. I don't feel like one or 2 phone calls will create that much extra stress and saving money is good. Just don't have super high hopes about it.
@safire3 sorry your having trouble picking a urologist for a second opinion.

I do have a question about uterine thickness. Do any meds help with it? Looks like at my ultrasound Friday (4dpo) ((which I only had because of my pain from the hsg))my lining was 8mm. Not sure what average thickness is?
@beachbunnyxo123 If I remember correctly from research I did a couple cycles ago, most doctors like to see 7-8 mm thick for the lining. I know mine was only around 5 one cycle and it concerned me so I looked into things to increase it.

@tamalahoops FX so hard. Keep your head up.
@heatherdubrow

AFM:
Diagnosis: DOR, AMA
Cycle/CD: 18 (9AL)/CD19/5DPO
Status: TWW
What are you doing this cycle: All the herbs and supplements, added Myo Inositol and DHEA this cycle, acupuncture, crossing my fingers that one of the swimmers from the several, ahem, *loads* of baby batter we've thrown at my reproductive tract finds the effing egg.
How are things going: Good right now. I'm in that blissful time between having to hump like crazy before O and the BSC setting in around 8DPO. There's really nothing to do but eat pineapple.
Any questions: Just about the bone broth. I'm intrigued.
GTKY: We always had a little hunt in our backyard for my sister and me, and later my much younger youngest sister. We also made a big production of giving something up for Lent (this year it's candy, so even though I'm not very religious, apparently something stuck), and buying Easter dresses.

If you want more info on GAPS: https://www.gapsdiet.com/home.html
or Weston A Price Foundation: https://www.westonaprice.org
Also there is a Canadian fertility podcast that I love and the host is big on bone broth, GAPS, and Weston Price (she also interviewed the author of TCOYF once and the show in general is great): https://fertilityfriday.com
Diagnosis (If you've been): MFI (most likely varicocele)
Cycle/CD: Cycle 12 (month 10), CD 11
@madspunk I'm sorry that you had to cx your cycle
@wabash15 FX for your IUI!
@LoveInDC Sorry I can't be of any help answering PCOS questions, but I appreciated the conversation that you, @antoto and @magnolia131 had following the post.
@tamalahoops FX for transfer!
@heatherdubrow I'm so sorry.
@kiki75 I've been considering acupuncture lately, glad it's going well
@safire3 Hope the 2nd opinion is helpful. We only have 1 urologist who specialized in male fertility in our area, which is hard but we like him so far!
-what will the protocol be and why
-what are the success rates for my diagnosis and age with this protocol
-would we be doing a fresh or frozen transfer
-can we transfer 2 embryos right off the bat on the first transfer
-how many viable embryos do you expect to get from this retrieval
-will I have a point of contact for the embryology lab
-how often will we get updates on our embryos
-what will I pay for a cancelled cycle or if we don't make it to transfer
-who is on call the day of my retrieval and how do I get in touch with them if something goes wrong (I didn't ask this but I wish I had)
-risks of birth defects associated with ivf
If you're out of pocket and you have a finance person at your office I would ask about discount packages, medicine discounts and the cheapest pharmacy to get your meds through.
And then I had a thousand questions about pgs and assisted hatching.

Hugs.
Nope
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)?
Nope, just baskets. I would certainly participate in an adult hunt, though.

@zwink1 Wow, that sounds like basically the worst week ever and awful that it will be impacting IF treatments. Glad no one was injured in the accident. Hopefully you won't need IUI or IVF or you'll be able to afford it once you get another job. Sending good vibes your way.
@zwink1 That is a seriously terrible week. When it rains, it pours. I hope you are able to treat yourself this week somehow. Hopefully your release from this job will open the doors for new, better jobs. Are you thinking of holding off on the TTC because you want to have a job while TTC?
@LadyMillil Thank you! That gives me a good idea of what could happen.
@hartmich I am the same way...I just keep reading to try to learn more just to some how calm myself. I know my experience will be different from what I read but based on my fear of needles I feel like I need to prepare myself.
@tamalahoops Your list is awesome!!! Thank you!!!
I agree with you all on the daily threads. I joined this board only when we were trying for quite a while, thus never got the testing frenzie. @JuneRoseRuby Ugh, that's rough. My mom and I used to see the same doctor. When I told her about TTC, she said she'd ask my mom for baby pictures at their next appointment :eyeroll: Still nowhere near what your doc did though. It's bad enough when it's naive hope that we're all SS, but to double down on insensitive comments? Rude.
