@LoveInDC Yeah, that's what she called it. She elaborated basically saying other people's pituitary talks to their ovaries/sends out hormone signals on day 3 of their cycle, but mine daydreams and gets to talking to my ovaries when it feels like it (whatever that means). I thought before I was just having stress-delayed Oing because I stress out a lot, but apparently she's seen this before. It bugged me at first not to have a solid named diagnosis, but I'm over it. I always suspected some kind of hormonal issue and thought it might be PCOS at one point, but none of the doctors thought it was necessary to give me the glucose test so there must be something in my chart that makes them think it isn't needed.
@magnolia131 Thanks for your perspective! I know Dr. Google and self diagnosing never helped anyone. But 2 weeks until getting the results is driving me crazy. I know that I'll have to just wait and see, and regardless, I'll be happy to have a Dx so I can find a way forward. FX that your new RE is the best fit and can help you GKTFU ASAP!

@magnolia131 I noticed you said you hope @LoveInDC would have the NIR rather than the IR version of PCOS - just curious why? Both seem to be pretty crappy.
@antoto I guess I did put my foot in my mouth there, and I will own it and apologize. I wouldn't wish PCOS or any IF diagnosis on my worst enemy. I really did not intend to imply that one diagnosis was worse than another - which I can see is blatantly how what I wrote came off as. I just know that personally, the diet and blood monitoring aspect of the IR has been my personal hell and required real overhaul on my everyday life. This probably stems largely from my own battles revolving diet/exercise/body image and it was wrong of me to project those feelings within that statement.
@magnolia131 No I knew you weren't being a dick about it, I was more curious of where you were coming from That definitely makes a lot of sense that all the dieting/body image stuff would be yet another burden. I'm glad you have shared a bit about this. Sometimes I think I found myself (from a place of ignorance) feeling jealous that IR PCOSers could DO SOMETHING about it, while I felt like I was powerless and could never hope to improve my fertility. But it's just not that simple, huh? Thanks for sharing and helping me be less thoughtless.
@tamalahoops My mom once told me that she bought me my first baby gift when I was in college... So apparently she wants this pretty intensely too. She is pretty sensitive about all that IF is, but I am sure she didn't realize seeing my brother's baby in our baby blankets would trigger me. I don't want to tell her though because I know it's her dream too to get to see her grandbabies in her babies things, but ugh, my heart strings. I know she has some of my things specific for girl that she would save for just me.

@antoto Yeah, I can absolutely see where you're coming from as well. Being armed with less tools to change your hormone imbalances has to be incredibly frustrating. Not to mention that I know Lean PCOS is so often overlooked by medical professionals because really only RE's tend to be well versed in the research surrounding it. While I am grateful to be able to take steps that will improve my chances through medication and diet, I sometimes often get resentful of the fact that I'll have to continue to do this stuff whether I am lucky enough to have a child someday or not and that if I do become pregnant I'll be deemed high risk because of my blood sugar levels. Like you said, nothing seems to come with a simple solution and it really does just suck when all is said and done. I really do appreciate your perspective as well and am glad you brought the subject up.
@antoto@magnolia131 You both are so amazing. Thank you for sharing 2 sides of a similar Dx. Nothing about IF is fair and there's no sense arguing which Dx is worse. But it's so comforting to hear both of your stories and the support you show each other, even when you're not sure what to say.
@JuneRoseRuby I'm glad your mom has some things set aside just for you and is being (mostly) thoughtful through all of this. I mentioned I'm one of 12 cousins on my mom's side. When my grandmother was still able, she crocheted 2 baby blankets for her first great-grandchild (my nephew). Her intent was for my sister to save me one and to pass the second to the next cousin who gets pregnant. My sister and I talked and agreed that both blankets should be passed one at a time as the cousins start having kids. Now that both blankets are in heavy circulation (both have had at least 2 owners), I'm starting to feel so sad. I hope that they don't deteriorate before I get a chance to have one. And now that I'm here, I worry if I'll ever get to have something that was intended for me to have. My grandmother's health is not the best which is adding a whole new level to it. I know what you're feeling so badly. I have no words of wisdom, just reassurance that you are not alone.

I've been checking into fifty million other threads today and realized I hadn't here yet..and this is my fave thread! You ladies are the bees kness. I'm trying to get back into the daily threads but some posts make me stabby...I know it's only because I've been trying for too damn long and forget what it's like to be super duper expialidocious excited about my cycles anymore.
Diagnosis (If you've been): Unexplained Secondary IF
Cycle/CD: 17/25
Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): TWW
What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): I go in for my progesterone draw tomorrow morning. After that, my beta test is next Tuesday. I'm taking my progesterone suppositories too. Even after 4 months, the mess they make is no less annoying.
How are things going? Ok, trying to keep myself busy and focusing on planning our trip to Hawaii!
Any questions? No
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)? We never did Easter egg hunts growing up, isn't that sad? We have started one with DS though and have brought him each year. My parents were so weird about certain holiday traditions. I love Easter egg hunts though!
@leekat14 How was the trigger shot? Did it hurt? @laurad75 Been thinking about you, I'm so sorry for how the ER turned out this month. I really really hope next time is it for you. Will you be doing the same thing again next cycle? @Anna_1021 That feeling of relief didn't always come for me either. It's nice to have a plan, but it's complicated, I know. @madspunk Sorry you had to cancel this cycle! @hartmich Good for you on eating better. Every day I tell myself I will @wabash15 GL with your IUI! @LoveInDC I'm glad you let yourself process through it and cry. Very needed @tamalahoops I really really REALLY hope that one little embryo is all you need @LuND Yay for your appt! Glad you found a good doctor @JuneRoseRuby I'm so sorry friend. Sending you love. @antoto I'm so excited for you that your time is coming up! Not too far away now @kiwi2628 I'm so sorry you find yourself here, but glad you have an upcoming appt!

@TravelingCouple Yeah I have been doing the daily threads and I like it for the most part but my level of excitement and general jadedness is generally better matched here. Of course, if more people from here rejoined the daily threads that wouldn't be the case as much (hint, hint).

Thing #45345 that no one tells you about infertility... awkward couch stains.
@TravelingCouple I feel you so hard on the daily threads. If I see one more person testing before 7 dpo my eyes might roll so hard into the back of my head that I won't be able to see. It also makes me feel like a bitter, old infertile so I generally don't post. I will start posting on the tww thread next week because I know I will be going out of my mind after my transfer. I have made a deal with the devil my husband that I won't test until my beta.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) HSG was this cycle, acupuncture
How are things going? Overall, okay. I'm just tired of feeling like I'm doing all the things and getting nowhere with it. And H was complaining/teasing about the smell of the herbal tea the acupuncturist gave me (it's foul) and the smell of the cooking bone broth which she also recommended. Hey pal, at least you don't have to drink this crap. STFU. We had to have a couple, "No. That really isn't funny right now." conversations. I am, however, very happy that my O date was early enough that it pulls everything up to where I will be able to do IUI next cycle. If O had been on the late side, it would have pushed everything to the week that I would be out of town.
Any questions?
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)? We would usually do an Easter egg hunt at my Grandma's house. If the weather was decent (as in, no snow), we would do it outside but if it was terrible out, we would do it in the house. Sometimes we would find eggs months later. I would absolutely participate in an adult hunt! The only ones I won't do are the big community throw a whole bunch of eggs on a lawn and set a bunch of nasty children out there throwing elbows. We did that precisely once and I hated it. First, I had been told we were going to a 'hunt' so I was shocked and dismayed to see them just scattered on the lawn. Second, I hadn't been told it was a stab-n-grab situation so I went into it trying to be a polite good kid and I came up with about three eggs total. Third, I was devastated because they had said that there was a certificate for a bike hidden in one of them so I was really sad when I didn't win it.

@kiki75 I am actually a big believer in bone broth and MH eats it with me. We both like it while we're eating it, but, yeah, during the 36 hours it's cooking you pretty much can't smell anything else. We actually have a policy of not making bone broth in the days leading up to O because the smell is so not sexy. Good news on your O timing!
@antoto yeah, it is sad for all of us here/comforting that I am not alone that the IF thread has more replies per day than the WTO/TWW threads do

@madspunk this may be a silly question cause a lot of this stuff is new to me, did the cancel the cycle because there are too many follicles and the risk of multiples? I've seen posts about over responding before but never understood. Sorry to hear that though.

Diagnosis (If you've been): currently testing
Cycle/CD: cycle 15/ 7dpo

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?)
Went in for my 7dpo BW today, got a callback this afternoon she said my progesterone level was good at 11.8 I have an appointment tomorrow with the RE to discuss all our test results and treatment plan moving forward so I am anxious/excited for it. Will come back tomorrow and give an update!
How are things going?
Things are going good. I am glad that all the testing is out of the way now. Still on antibiotics from my bladder infection from the hsg so that's annoying but I'll be done on Wednesday. It's DHs birthday on Thursday so it's going to be hard to fight the urge to test. Of course there's a part of me hoping to get that hsg magic and be a SS because what a great bday present that would be for DH. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't praying for it.
Any questions? Pausing here until tomorrow! I'm sure I'll have questions after we discuss treatment options
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)? We would just do a little one with the cousins. I totally would I'm all about some friendly competition!
Sorry if I missed anyone! I'm also on mobile and it's so hard to keep scrolling and commenting when the thread is popping! I too agree that all you wonderful ladies should post in the dailies! I agree with @tamalahoops there are some things that bug me I can't take the testing before 7dpo either but it would be nice to have more of you there!
@hartmich Money in the easter eggs sounds amazing. That's something I'd definitely take part in.
@wabash15 Good luck with the IUI!! That stinks you didn't sleep well. Maybe 4 follies will be the charm again. FX!
@loveinDC I learned the same thing about PCOS - it is an elusive syndrome that no one seems to really be able to explain that well. That's great you have support from your family. IF can be lonely. I agree with @antoto - NIR PCOS certainly exists. I had an IR test, which was negative. My FS did not recommend any of the PCOS diet things to me, but I try to do a lot of them anyway because the diet seems to be healthy whether you are IR or not.
@tamalahoops 9 days until transfer! Not too much longer! I'm sorry you're feeling so much pressure about this cycle. I really hope your frostie sticks.
@leekat14 It's a tough decision deciding what treatment to go for. Last night MH and I sat down to decide whether to cancel or convert to IVF, and we drew up a list of success rates for everything, the cost for different pathways we could take, and how many months would we be willing to try lower success rate things. I'd suggest sitting down with your H and building some possible pathways for yourself too, knowing that the pathways you choose are likely to run into unforeseen bumps and ruts.
@LuND That's so exciting that your new OB is also a RE! I'm glad you checked into the second opinion. Also, congrats to your H on quitting smoking! That's awesome.
Ugh, @JuneRoseRuby, that must have been so hard to watch. Hugs.
@antoto I have heard that about the lower quality eggs in PCOS as well. I haven't seen any definitive studies, but I know I've read that and seen some anecdotal posts. What supplements are you taking to improve egg quality?
@TravelingCouple Progesterone suppositories, blech. For me, the progesterone suppositories and progesterone shots are in a tie for the worst of IF medications.
@beachbunnyxo123 Not a silly question at all! Yes, they cancelled it because of the risk of multiples.Clinics have a maximum number they'll allow you to have and still let you do TI or IUI. That number depends on where you go, what your diagnosis is, how old you are, how long you've been trying, etc. My clinic cancels for anything more than 5, and MH and I have decided we're comfortable with no more than 4. I really overstimmed this cycle, and I'm on strict orders to abstain until AF. Good luck at your RE appointment!
@antoto I wondered about that - I just checked back in and my first thought was whoa 2 pages already. So many names from when I first started plus so many new faces... It's such crap.
@travelingcouple "stabby" is one of my favorite words and it applies SO OFTEN in our discussions here!!
Oh so much I missed... Try to jump in here quickly, and be here as much as I can, but work keeps me in a lurk-state.. I have an appointment with my boss on Thursday btw. FX he'll be open to hire someone for my team.
@laurad75 So sorry your cycle went this way. GL at your RE next week, looking fw to hearing what they have to say.
@JuneRoseRuby HUGS, so many hugs. That must have been heartbreaking to live through. I know we are getting tougher and tougher during this journey but that is not easy. I even have problem being around my brother's kid sometimes..
@tamalahoops Omg, I have everything crossed for you Keep us updated, we are rroting for you. As for your emotional state: I totally understand. After so much time, and everything.. @LoveInDC I totally get where you are coming from. When/if we get a diagnosis I will probably be so upset, but at the same time at least its answers and a path to a plan- but it doesnt mean you dont need time to re-adjust to your new reality and cry about it
@JuneRoseRuby I am so sorry for the time you had at your parents. I can only imagine how hard that must have been. So many hugs to you.
@vflux33 thanks for the tips! When I made my RE appointment I looked for someone who was known to be 'warm and fuzzy', so hopefully thats what he i
@beachbunnyxo123 I usually do my injections but since this one was in the muscle the RE strongly recommended having DH do it... I was a bit unsure since he's a bit of a weeny about these things. I let him do it and he was a champ but the poor guy afterwards kept apologizing for hurting me. The injection itself was not bad I was just really sore in the area the next 2 days but its better today. @kiwi2628 it went really well. my cervix does not always cooperate and a few times they have had to use the tenaculum... yah that is no fun but yesterday it was easy-peasy. @mrsdaddario Do you use CNY Fertility? For some reason I think yes...What are your thoughts? How difficult is it to get in? This is who my OBGYN works with for IVF so I'm considering making an appointment instead of continuing with the clomid.
@kiwi2628 Yeah, like I said, I only had the one experience and FWIW the Yelp reviews of my RE actually said specifically that she was NOT "warm and fuzzy". Not a bad match for me, but it sounds like yours will be better for you. GL!
Well I spoke too soon yesterday. I started spotting last night. I hate to admit it but I foolishly had super high hopes that this cycle would work and I could avoid IVF. But it looks like that's going to be my journey. I'm really nervous for the whole process and I'm even more frightened that it won't work. Holy crap. This is real. This is happening.
I wish I could just start af. My body likes to spot for a solid week before it gives up.
@antoto hugs girl. I think everyone experiences those high hopes of getting KU before the next step in the IF process. We all think we'll be the SS. Being nervous is completely understandable, but try to focus on how you're giving yourself and DH the best possible chance of getting your take home baby. We'll all be here with you through the whole process!
@antoto Sending hugs your way. I'm sorry that you didn't get a last minute miracle, but I'm so excited to follow your IVF process. It's amazing that you have that option and that you're prepared for it so soon. This is happening in the best way. You can do this! Make sure to take care of yourself as this cycle is on its way out and as you start the IVF process. It's a lot to handle, but if anyone can do it, it's you

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) Looking for second opinions for DH. I spent forever googling urologists in the area, finally decided on one and called to make an appt only to find out he is out until the end of May. Back to the drawing board I guess
How are things going? Ok I guess. I think we decided to try on our own until after our vacation at the end of May. Not expecting anything of course but it would break my heart to completely give up. During that time we will also get a second opinion for DH and maybe repeat SA. I have started him on the theralogix supplements as well. Thank you all again for all of your help and advice with that. Since my cycles are a bit short I have 3 cycles (including this one) before we come back from vacation. I may also rejoin the daily threads during that time although I feel the same as @TravelingCouple about it.
Any questions? So we got a bill for $1000 for lab work my DH had done. I know our insurance does not pay for anything related to IF but this was after he was already diagnosed with azoospermia and had to have testing done to look for a cause. I'm wondering if it's worth the hassle and stress to call the insurance company and see if they will pay any more of it?
GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)? I would participate if someone organized it. We never really had a tradition but I did do it a few times as a child.

I hope this works and you won't need IUI or IVF @wabash15 I'm glad your IUI went well. FX for you! @LoveInDC I'm sorry about the diagnosis. At least you are closer to having a plan now that you know what is going on. @tamalahoops We are all right there with you. Really hoping everything goes according to plan with the transfer. FX for you! @LuND so happy you found and RE and scheduled an appointment. I also felt like your DHs SA was normal but I thought maybe I just think that because MH's is so bad lol so I didn't say anything. @JuneRoseRuby so sorry about the tough weekend. Hugs to you. Glad your mom has some stuff put aside for when your LO arrives. May parents and in-laws have no grandkids yet so I don't have to deal with that but there is a lot of pressure on us since the others are not having kids anytime soon. @kiwi2628 good luck with the RE appt. I kind of feel like at the first appt it is more just getting to know you and discussing any obvious issues then ordering tests. There will be a lot more to discuss once you guys have had some testing done. @magnolia131 Good luck with the new RE visit this week! @antoto I have noticed how busy this thread is as well. I never get to post on Monday because work is too crazy then when I'm off on Tuesday it's already 2 pages! I am hoping there will be a mass exodus from this thread soon! Also hugs to you! We will all be right there with you on this journey.

BFP June, 21 2017 | EDD March 4, 2018
@tamalahoops My mom once told me that she bought me my first baby gift when I was in college... So apparently she wants this pretty intensely too. She is pretty sensitive about all that IF is, but I am sure she didn't realize seeing my brother's baby in our baby blankets would trigger me. I don't want to tell her though because I know it's her dream too to get to see her grandbabies in her babies things, but ugh, my heart strings. I know she has some of my things specific for girl that she would save for just me.

Diagnosis (If you've been): Unexplained Secondary IF
Cycle/CD: 17/25
Every day I tell myself I will

Cycle/CD: 13 - CD 20

@laurad75 so sorry again girl, hope this cycle feels like it progresses quickly!
@Anna_1021 good luck with the IUI! That's good your RE is jumping right in!
@madspunk this may be a silly question cause a lot of this stuff is new to me, did the cancel the cycle because there are too many follicles and the risk of multiples? I've seen posts about over responding before but never understood. Sorry to hear that though.
@wabash15 does your husband do your injections? Sorry for the pain
@tamalahoops woohoo so excited for you girl!!!!
@LuND sounds like everything worked out great with your provider!! Awesome!
@JuneRoseRuby all the feels from your story, so sorry that you had to deal with that

@kiwi2628 so sorry to see you here friend but this is such a supportive thread!
@TravelingCouple that sounds frustrating to deal with the mess from suppositories
@heatherdubrow girl I am so unbelievably sorry to see you back here. I remember stalking you here constantly after your transfer. All the hugs

GTKY: Do/did you have Easter egg hunt traditions in your family? Would you participate in one as an adult with friends (or even strangers)?
We would just do a little one with the cousins. I totally would I'm all about some friendly competition!
@kiwi2628 Good luck at your first RE appointment!
@travelingcouple "stabby" is one of my favorite words and it applies SO OFTEN in our discussions here!!
-600 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid 1x day (Amazing Formulas brand)
-600 mg NAC 1x day (NOW brand)
-200 mg Co-Q10 Ubiquinol 1x day (Jarrow Formulas brand)
-1000mg Myo-Inositol 2x day (DoctoMK's Natural brand)
It's all antioxidants and I got them all on Amazon. H takes the NAC and Ubiquinol as well in addition to his Vitamin C and daily multi.
And then I take the Garden of Life Vitamin Code Raw Prenatal 3x day
@laurad75 So sorry your cycle went this way.
@tamalahoops Omg, I have everything crossed for you

@Anna_1021 I am so excited you get to start IUI right away!
@hartmich I am sorry you are missing part of your FW. FX that the metformin starts kicking in soon
@wabash15 how did your IUI go???
@LoveInDC I totally get where you are coming from. When/if we get a diagnosis I will probably be so upset, but at the same time at least its answers and a path to a plan- but it doesnt mean you dont need time to re-adjust to your new reality and cry about it
@JuneRoseRuby I am so sorry for the time you had at your parents. I can only imagine how hard that must have been. So many hugs to you.
@vflux33 thanks for the tips! When I made my RE appointment I looked for someone who was known to be 'warm and fuzzy', so hopefully thats what he i
@kiwi2628 it went really well. my cervix does not always cooperate and a few times they have had to use the tenaculum... yah that is no fun but yesterday it was easy-peasy. Thanks for asking!
