  • @ShePersisted Regular Tylenol is fine. Hope your headache went away. There was a medicine thread that I'll bump and tag you in.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

  • @NYTino24 thank you. Yes I'm better this morning but now am freaking out cause I have no nausea since last two days which is bothering me. It freaks me out to see all you ladies having symptoms and I have so little - I know that's just my PGAL brain and I know it's no point worrying but I can't help it.  Except for fatigue I really don't have anything else going on. I have my first OB consult tomorrow and really do hope he does an US.
  • @ShePersisted FWIW my symptoms come and go a lot. Today I am just really tired. I hope all goes well tomorrow!

  • @ShePersisted I have very few symptoms most of the time, generally just a little diarrhea in the morning and my boobs are sore but that's about it. Everything looked good at my last ultrasound despite the lack of symptoms so I'm hoping that's what you find too!

  • Ugg, So bloated today. Feel nauseous AND starving, but as soon as I eat I feel gross, the blump is for Real today. Gonna give prune juice a try.
@MaximumEffort I know what you mean about the smells at work. There are about a hundred random smells on my floor that make me Instantly want to puke. Like... cleaning solutions and antiseptics, a patient's BO, vomit, sputum, NG tube drainage, nasty wounds, bedpans full of pee mixed with poop (the worst). Usually never bothers me, but now I find myself trying to breath through my mouth, which is sometimes even worse. Yuck!

  • TW

Started spotting at work today with some decent pain in my lower abdomen and back. FX this is just a one time thing like it was last pregnancy. I'm currently resting, drinking water and gonna eat and maybe nap soon.

  • Ok very weird question - will probably make you lol. Does anyone sort of feel nauseous when they press their boobs? I feel like I get this quest feeling every time my nipples/ boobs are pressed hard.

@QTAMum3 and @ktcakes87sending good juju your way!! You are doing everything right by resting and drinking water! Keep us posted!!
  • @ShePersisted I don't know about the nausea and boob pressing..... But have you tried cold washcloths on your face, eyes, and neck for headaches? I've been getting them frequently too and that helps a lot. I've only had to take Tylenol once so far when I had a 24 hour flu/virus at about 5 weeks.

My frist real food aversion: Chicken. Can't stand it.
My nausea was so bad today. I can't get out of bed. What am I going to do if it is this bad tomorrow? I gotta work. :(
  • @lunamo yep. Not this time yet, but in my previous pregnancies chicken tasted TOO chicken-y. Especially when reheated in the microwave. A lot of the time I could handle it fresh, but could NOT eat the leftovers.

  • @ShePersisted I'm right with you in the lack of symptoms. For the past few days I have felt completely normal! So strange. It's helpful to hear other people say they come and go so thanks @jess0211

After a stretch of a few really rough days, today was blessedly easy. I hope it stays this way for a few days (at least!), but I'm grateful for whatever respite I can get (I really don't remember them with DS, so I feel lucky this time).

ETA my weight is down quite low, and while some of that may be muscle loss because on the bad days exercise only makes me feel worse, but I'm generally coming to the bottom weight where I feel I'm still doing okay, so more days where the food adversions aren't crippling (like today) would be super great

  • Does anyone else feel like a horrible person for calling in to work because of morning sickness?

I have not had to far but if I did I would not have an ounce of guilt. I don't know why this is not a legit accommodation.
  • Anyone else about 9 weeks had symptoms ease up a lot?  Saw baby on Friday, kicking and with a HB of 170.  Heard HB on Saturday with a HB of 165-170 again so I don't think anything is going wrong, but my PAL brain is going crazy! I know that symptoms start to go away around the end of the first tri, but I'm a few weeks from that!

The last week has been a lot easier for me (10 weeks tomorrow) with the exception of a few totally random bouts of nausea. But for the most part I've not been as exhausted or sick and in general have been seeing the light at the end of the first tri tunnel.

Ok, glad I'm not the only one! I was getting super nervous! Thanks @BayCamp

Yes!!! I've already used about 30 of my FMLA hours but it was really necessary. I didn't use any time off with my other two until at least 32 weeks. I feel bad and like I'm going to run out uber early!
  • Spotting from yesterday decreased and I still brown blood instead of bring red. Full fledged vomiting though. Setting myself up for another round of HG.

  • I have had headaches on and off the last few days. Almost feel like tension headaches but I am assuming hormonal changes. Anyone else?

  • @jess0211 I'm right there with you today. Not sleeping enough triggers them for me right now, and I *maybe* slept four hours last night.

I had those earlier on... I read they're related to changes in blood volume associated with pregnancy.

  • @adirat that's what I read as well. It doesn't help my allergies are acting up too. Blah.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @jess0211 Could be allergies or could be rhinitis of pregnancy (which I know because I have that too!).

  • How is it that I cannot get enough to eat but also want to vomit everything back up? I'm starving and sick to my stomach all at the same time. Had to call in sick to work tonight, but mostly due to this ear infection and a slight fever. My doctor did say she would give me a work note if at any time the nausea or fatigue were so bad I couldn't safely work (given what I do), but I'm hoping to get through this trimester without needing it.
  • @furmommy My pregnancy app says symptoms can taper off starting around 8 weeks as the placenta starts to take on the work of some of the hormones so they might not affect you as much. I haven't had a lot of symptoms other than early cramping (which was fine, no problems) and constant boobs pain which I still have.

@jess0211 I've been getting headaches everyday that feel like tension headaches. I know you can take tylenol but I don't want to take it round the clock. I find a cold wash cloth, folded up helps. I think having it folded puts a bit of weight on it which helps more than a thin layer if that makes sense. I put it on my neck, eyes, and face as needed depending on where the pain is.

I was a 32DDD before pregnancy and my boobs are already growing. Honestly think it's giving me neck pain already.

  • GUYS.  Ginger ale has saved my life from nausea.  My wife has access to a soda stream at work, and brings me home carbonated water with a little ginger syrup in it, and it cures my nausea for most of the day.  Not many calories either (not sweet).  I swear by this.

  • This is my second pregnancy and I'm so nervous bc I have zero symptoms. It's blizzare. If I didn't track my period in a nice little app I would have no idea I was pregnant. The first time around I was sick, my boobs killed, tirrd, everything! I'm only 6 weeks but still, nothing! So obviously I am terrified something is wrong and have to wait 2 weeks for my appointment. Does anyone else have ZERO symptoms? I'm starting to panic! (But totally feel for those suffering I'm not trying to complain just very nervous)
  • @QTAMum3 glad to hear that the spotting slowed down!! Hope the vomiting does, too! Pregnancy is so glorious! Lol
  • @cmessamore the puking never subsides but that's par for my course. I have some zofran waiting for me at the pharmacy in the AM.

I remember spotting ting with my DD and was thinking it could be my only indication of the sex. I never spotted with either DS. Who knows. I'm crazed these days and many more to come.

  • This is baby #3 and other than extreme fatigue and headaches I feel pretty normal which is causing me to freak out since I have no due date and no idea how far along I am due to not having a period in between 2 and 3. Also I do get some pulling/cramping feelings in my lower abdomen especially at night. I am just hoping someone cancels their appointment before may 9 because that is my first appointment with u/s.

I had practically zero symptoms with my first until around 8 weeks. I'm blown away by what a difference there is between the two. This one is radically different, hope that eases your mind a little.
  • @adirat @slaven thanks ladies. Last night eas rough (hence why I didn't respond to any posts!) My headache got so much worse and I was nauseous...not sure if it was the baby or the headache responsible for the nausea. Poor DH was beside himseld trying to help! It definitely felt like a sinus headache by evening last night which @adirat may be a result of rhinitis? I am going to ask doc at my appt today what I can take to relieve sinus pressure. @slaven I am nervous to take Tylenol around the clock as well. I uses a cold wash cloth and that did help a bit.

  • @jess0211 Maybe you can try a face steamer? I don't have one however I know steam helps with sinuses however leaning over a pot of boiling water or letting your shower go on and on just to steam the bathroom doesn't usually work well for me. There's a bunch on Amazon but this Revlon one is about $25
