On the same side of the coin as @jsnakehole, I do not like the new live action Disney movies. I can only see them as a big 'ole money grab and I have a hard time getting past that. I didn't like the Alice in Wonderlands, The Jungle Book or Malificent and I didn't bother to see Cinderella because I hated Rose on Downton Abbey and I can hold a grudge something fierce lol. I will see BATB and I really WANT to like it, but I doubt I will.
@morado23 it wasn't a bad movie overall! I just hated her. Maybe I'll start a movie discussion thread later.
@flowerpower5838 I'm not into the remakes either. This is the first one I saw. I heard the next one is Mulan, but without the songs, which is the worst because those songs are amazing.

I think adults (college-age and up) wearing pajamas in public is the worst. It grosses me out. The worst is seeing pj's in the grocery store -- I automatically assume they rolled out of bed in their stinky flannel pj pants and are now making the beautiful produce smelly, too. I know how ridiculously irrational this is, but my mind just goes there every time!
@kmalls I kind of stopped wearing pajamas in public once I hit grad school but what I did was invest in nicer "lounge" clothing. So when I am running errands I can still feel comfortable or just lay around the house in. Sometimes I do wear these same clothes to bed but... it's less obvious when I'm being a scrub at least. Oh and your thoughts about people just "rolling out of bed" is totally valid. I know for sure I did that in college.
@kmalls We took DS for pictures last weekend, and the Mom whose child was getting pictures before us came to the studio in pajama bottoms and slippers. Yes. Slippers! Granted she wasn't in the pictures but my god put on real pants and shoes!
@JJMNO1616 loungewear (or athleisure) is the BEST. You're right, you can bum around the house or go out and run errands and still look put together. My uniform is leggings and tall boots in the fall/winter with some kind of tunic on top. Same thing in the spring/summer but with flops and a tank. So comfy.
I guess that leads me to another UO:
LEGGINGS ARE TOTALLY PANTS AND I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM UP

While I don't understand wearing legit pajamas to places, the part that really gets me is when people are wearing them, with their thin fabric, and are wearing thongs or no underpants. Eew. And, while we're on the topic, why doesn't anyone teach people how to wear skirts anymore? I can't tell you how many times I see people sit without tucking it under their butt. I don't want my butt directly on a public chair and I don't want yours on public chairs I may sit in. Eew!

YES to wearing pajamas. Like, legit pajama bottoms don't belong in public. Sweats or athleisure or whatever I'm totally fine with.
Also, the leggings as pants thing is confusing to me. I've seen people say that leggings aren't pants and then be like, "I wear them with long shirts so my butt is covered," which is where I'm at. I'm just confused what the other way to wear leggings is in that case. Under a skirt or dress? I'm team for the love of God DO NOT wear see-through leggings!!! My workout clothes are always leggings and I don't cover my butt/front. So wear leggings with your butt out if you want just NOT if they're see-through! Do the bend test!
@kiki75 OMG people really do not do the tuck?!?! How do they not do the tuck?!?! Ugh...eww.
I also must confess, I used to work in a learning center during the summers and we would have theme days every Wednesday. We used to figure out all possible ways to be able to wear pajamas to work. I promise they were always clean though!!!
@flowerpower5838 - I hated the live-action Cinderella movie so much that I haven't bothered watching any of the other new live-action remakes Disney has put out. That being said, BATB is my favorite Disney movie and I want so badly to like the live-action remake!

@kmalls Totally agree on the pajamas! We have a few parents who habitually wear pajamas to drop off and pick up their kids from school. There's one in particular who pairs her pajama bottoms with tops that are waaay too small. I try really, really hard not to judge the parents of my students, but I'm sorry, I don't need to see every stretchmark on your stomach every time you walk into the school.
I don't get why people wear legit PJs out of the house, when there are so many options to hide the fact that you're wearing PJs. Even in college, when I had an early class that I knew I was going to be running late for, I put on sweatpants that had my college on them or black leggings and a college hoodie. Then it just looked like I had extra school spirit in the morning. Not PJs.

@Pinky917 Theme days are totally okay! Though I'd only go from work to home, unless I brought a change of clothes if I were going elsewhere.
I kind of agree on the manicures thing. I love the end result of pedicures but I don't like the process at all (ticklish feet) and manicures chip immediately. I hardly ever paint my fingernails at home even but when I do, they're inevitably bare a few days later. Also I'm pretty frugal but I love clothes so I pretty much only spend "fun" money on stuff like that.
My unpopular opinion is that I hate the all-white kitchen trend. Or basically any of the 5 kitchen styles that are in every HGTV kitchen. Farmhouse sinks, glass front shelves, a 30 ft island... why?

Don't forget granite counters and stainless steel appliances!
The ones that kill me are when it's a perfectly functional kitchen and people are like, we'd have to change this immediately (but we're already over budget!). People if it's functional you can do it over time! Lol DH gets so mad at me when I watch those shows, I just yell at the people. I could never be a realtor!

Because they're so pretty! And functional and will go with whatever changes you make to the colors in the rest of your house! A farmhouse sink can hold, like, allllll the dishes so even if you don't feel like putting them in the dishwasher right away, at least they're not stacked on the counters. And a big island means so much more room to spread out when you're cooking!
...says someone with an all-white kitchen, a farmer's sink and an island
I'm with you on the glass-front cabinets, though. Unless you have perfectly matching plates, cups and bowls (and they're always stacked perfectly), it just looks sloppy.
Haha yeah, you basically described my exact kitchen. I don't like granite counter tops though. I do have the all glass front top cabinets, but all of my stuff does match and is perfectly organized. I designed my kitchen that way
I would give my left arm for a 30 foot island. I don't have nearly as much counter space as I'd like. Plus, a 30 foot island would have so much storage underneath, also something my kitchen lacks. And all the storage would be at a height I could reach, instead of my current grabbing the ladder a zillion times a day.

My husband and I are in the process of buying a house with a really nice kitchen but it's brown. I'm one of those all white kicthen people. We aren't going to make any changes until after we save up again but the brown has GOT to go... It's such a struggle when looking at houses. The very first house my DH and I looked at had my DREAM kitchen. We offered on the house and our offer was accepted but we pulled out because there were other things about the house that concerned us. The house we are actually buying is a much better fit overall but the kitchen is a let down. The one thing I keep telling myself though is that a kitchen can be remodeled. You can't really change the size of your backyard or how close your house is built next to your neighbors and stuff like that. Good luck with your search! It's fun but also emotionally taxing at times.
@jsnakehole I loveeee Emma Watson and I thought she made a great Belle BUT I will say that I wasn't crazy about her singing. I think it was very obvious that she's not actually a singer and that they gave her voice lessons and edited it like crazy. Plus all of the other actors had amazing singing voices so in comparison hers wasn't great. Other than that though I loved her in the role.

@cait32-2 According to the local kitchen store where I live (when I started looking into re-doing the kitchen) and a quick google search through a few sites, what I said about hot things is correct:
'Can I put hot pans or cut without a cutting board on quartz?
Although quartz is very scratch resistant, we do recommend using a
cutting board on your quartz countertop. A hot pot or pan can
potentially lead to discoloration, we suggest using a trivet to maintain
the quality of your countertop.'
Also, you can put hot things on granite (also per kitchen store and google searches) ': Granite is ideal for kitchens because under normal conditions it will not burn and it will not be harmed by hot pans or open flames, but the stone will absorb heat from hot trays. Marble should not be used in kitchens as excessive heat can cause damage and potentially leave scars or burn marks.'
Although apparently you can cut on quartz. The not-cutting part is clearly just my friends neurotic mom, lol
