    Just woke up...scrolling through Facebook and side eyeing so hard a post from a friend who always complains about not having any husband and wife time but then posts this meme and says she won't allow anyone to drive her son except her (not even her husband) and won't allow anyone to watch him, yet you bitch about not having alone time with your kid? Let's be honest- my son is probably in better hands with my mom than he is me sometimes. And all the friends with kids your sons age that all live in your neighborhood who have offered to watch him when you complain about having to take him to a dr appt with you. What's going to happen in the 2 hours you're gone?? Instantly annoyed. 



    Now I realize I wouldn't find a bum and say hey I have to go to the grocery store watch my kid. But within reason there isn't a reason other than wanting to control every aspect of everything that he can't stay with someone for a few hours.

    @nktrodden826 YES! My SIL didn't let anyone other than her or my brother drive her kids until recently (the oldest is 3 1/2). I'm sorry, my mother raised 4 kids, pretty sure she can handle driving my daughter around...

    Yes! I had an anterior placenta with my son and kinda wish I did with this one.  I didn't feel as much movement the entire pregnancy as I've felt in the last 10 weeks of movement with this one! It's a very weird feeling. But now I see what people talk about the baby keeping you up at night because they move so much. I'd literally only feel him if I ate spicy food until about 34 weeks and I'd feel big movements occasionally but none of this poking and jabbing stuff!

    I have 2, one may be a FFFC though.  Anyways. 

    1: Whipped cream is nasty. The texture. The taste. Bleh. 

    2: I fully intend to use the nursery when I have my c-section. I used it with both my other girls. We were still able to bond just fine. My second is attached to me at the hip. I am taking full advantage of being able to sleep those 3 or 4 nights.

    Totally agree. Also have an anterior placenta but somehow I'm feeling this baby move all the time and it's just... disturbing. And distracting! Within a week of it starting, I remember distinctly thinking  "wow this is going to get old fast". It's like someone tapping you on your shoulder while you're trying to work. And like clockwork there she goes again punching away at shit...!  Can't wait to revise this document while she tells me about her morning in Morse code. (Trying to remind myself to be grateful but it's not working)

    @BusyZee - hahaha I've thought about this too! I don't carry much right now - my phone case holds my debit card and ID, so I don't care a purse bc I hate to. But a stroller is a game changer. I can throw everything in there as needed!

    Whenever I'm lucky enough to have off during the week and can go then instead of the weekend, I'm thrilled. DD comes with me enough that she is generally well behaved and likes to go and during the week it's so much quieter. I totally agree with this.

    A. Men. This little boy hurts sometimes. And he wakes me up at night. I don't remember having that with DD.

    My stroller does not hold this much stuff. I almost always still carry the diaper bag because it doesn't fit underneath very well.

    Re: feeling the baby move. Whaaa?? Totally surprised by the number of people who don't like it (though to be fair I don't have an anterior placenta). It is literally the only thing I enjoy about being pregnant.

    We used the nursery at the hospital with my 2nd and it was the best thing I could have done after delivery. I actually felt rested when we came home. Never had an issue with my supply either and he latched perfectly. We will take advantage of it again this time around at night.

    Same. Sometimes the movements make me nauseaous. (Nauseated?) shit, I dunno, just makes me want to hurl!

    I'm so glad I'm not the only one. If I think "baby is moving... aww" then it can be cute and fun, but sometimes the sensation itself feels unpleasant and sometimes it's annoying. 

    I feel extremely lucky and grateful that I'm having a baby and get to feel her move, so I feel guilty when I start to feel annoyed. But I figure I should get used to the idea of simultaneously loving and being annoyed by her.

    I just think it feels pretty similar to being poked/kicked from the outside. Which would annoy the crap out of me. I don't mind the little flutters, but sometimes it's really uncomfortable and I just want him to knock it off.

    @adabyron. Yeah I agree - someone poking me in the stomach from the outside while I'm trying to sleep would be annoying too. 

    The other day I could see a poke for the first time, which was really cool, but then all I could think about was the movie Alien.

    oh @GlitterFish what have you done?  when i was having bad morning sickness back in the day, one of the only things that ever sounded good to me was a McDonald's hamburger and fries.  i've been trying to limit my intake, but those fries look so delicious!  time to text DH to pick some up on his way home!

    @AdaByron @Greenbean and anyone else who mentioned not liking the movement, I'm right there with you.  I have an anterior placenta, so it took awhile before I felt any movement and I was bummed, now that it's more regular/noticeable, it's just....weird.  The other night I thought I was feeling some on the outside and wanted to see if DH could feel, and he did, and immediately pulled his hand away and was freaked out.  I just told him 'now imagine feeling that INSIDE your body'.

    @GlitterFish Why is the first thought that popped in my head, "Ba-da-ba-pa-pa!"  Thanks marketing jerks.

    Also, I like the movement when I'm awake.  At night it's a little less fun because I'm so tired, but I truly like thinking about what she's doing in there.  I know I still get surprised when there's a big one and it's uncomfortable, but for the most part I'm glad to know she's doing okay in there.

    UO: I hate long nails.  I have to cut mine every four weeks right now thanks to the prenatals and I haven't gotten around to it yet, but they're driving me crazy.  Some people love to rock long nails and even fake long nails, but it's so not my thing.  Whenever I was getting acrylics, I made them file them down to normal nail lengths much to their horror.

    Being able to see baby move freaks DH out, he doesn't mind feeling kicks but the actually physical movement of my stomach is disturbing to him.  

    I don't mind the feeling -yet- but with an anterior placenta the feeling is pretty muted.  I will say while I'm glad I can feel baby move there are days when its not so active it freaks me out and then I worry.  And for that reason, I don't like feeling baby move.

    @maybeitsmadeline I agree with you about the long nails.
    Your post reminded me of a week ago when I took my mom to the doctor, and the nurse administering a shot for her had the longest acrylic nails ever, and all I could think about was how dirty acrylic nails could still be even after repeated hand washing. Thankfully the nurse wore gloves, but I can't say I wasn't surprised that a medical professional had fake nails. I thought they weren't allowed. I guess my UO would be that acrylic nails should not be allowed if a profession requires clean hands (chefs and medical professionals come to mind) though I understand most still wear gloves.

    I get especially annoyed at 4am when his flip flops and somersaults wake me up. 

    But yes. I also feel guilty when I feel annoyed. I'm so grateful to be pregnant, but I will say I'm also just not loving pregnancy right now. The no sleeping thing is really starting to get to me.

    The baby moving is one of my favorite things about being pregnant. After both my kids were born I missed feeling them move and flip in my belly.

    @maybeitsmadeline - I'm with you on the long nails! My hair and nails have always grown super fast and thick. I'm jealous you only trim every 4 weeks - I have to trim my nails at least every 2 weeks. They grow ridiculously fast and I like them not growing past my finger.

    My boys never moved much so I'm enjoying these rolling sensations (except when she kicks me in the crotch).  I'm more of a Spaceballs fan than an Alien one though.

    @supermom83 I think medical staff having long nails is really unprofessional and unsanitary!  I know when I worked in a kitchen, you couldn't have any nail polish or acrylic nails because of the risk of food contamination being so high.  I completely agree with that.  Can you imagine finding an acrylic nail in your salad?

    @ginger1228 Wow!  Poor you!!!  That's really frequent. :frowning: I think my nails grow slowly so the step up to four weeks was a huge change for me!  I couldn't believe how fast they grew in.  Mine are past my finger right now and I hate it.  I do like them when I have an itch, but then that's about all they're good for hahaha!

    @supermom83 funny/gross story about acrylic nails... when I used to work in the PICU, I worked with a nurse who had long fingernails... one day, she couldn't stop smelling poop, all day long, at the end of the shift, she realized she had changed a diaper and got poop under her ring and pinkie fingernails!
