@ShadeofGreen816 - I feel like once we enter the 3rd tri, it's not being cranky and bitchy. It's everyone else being not pregnant and understanding how we feel. At least, that's what I'm telling myself.
My belly button is just flat but because of the gallbladder scar it pouches out in one spot so I kinda look like a semi outie. I need to do a hdbd pic one of these days. I work this weekend yesterday and today. We had plans with another couple with a 5 yr old and a 1 year old last night. Stayed there till midnight now I'm at work exhausted but it was a lot of fun. My son kept handing the baby her bottle and running around with the 5 year old. We played a card game called munchkin. Today I'm working then going to bed when ds does
DH and I moved our date day to today, so we're heading to the Baltimore aquarium and then getting a nice seafood dinner, which is kind of funny now that I think about it but Baltimore is great at seafood. I love when we go on day trips together.
Also, if anyone has a dog, Rover is the coolest service. We use it for our pup all the time and have a regular sitter that we book now through Rover. She's going to come over and feed/walk our dog this evening. It's awesome because our families aren't dog people, and they're a little too far away to ask anyways.

@KMD1106 going for a VBAC! my first was breech and I had pre e. But this time around baby is head down (praying she stays that way) and no pre e. I'm thrilled to have a go at a vaginal birth but also nervous!!!
@L1C4gal@Jens_Hoes I haven't been to one in forever but if you have a Burlington (coat factory) I remember thinking the last time I was in there that I would go maternity shopping there next time I was pregnant cuz they had a ton of cute dresses.
How can you tell baby is breach? Can you tell or is it based on doctor feeling or US? I know our babies still have time to get in the right position, but I think mine might be breach based on where I'm feeling movement.
@clebl24 my doctor checked with the portable ultrasound machine in the exam room. He showed me where her head was and I can definitely still feel I think there because it's very prominent.
Edit: I don't know if it was bad typing and autocorrect or pregnancy brain that butchered that last sentence. I recognize its terribleness and am too tired to think it through and fix it.
@clebl24 My dr has been able to tell when she measures me at recent appointments (32wks). She couldn't tell at 30wks, but I had a U/S iat 31 wks and it confirmed head down. She said it was definitely noticeable by feel at 32wks.

My doctor didn't even attempt to tell at my 32 week appointment. He said that he'll check by ultrasound at 36 weeks.

@clebl24 My doctor was able to tell by feel at my last appointment. I'm almost positive she's been head down since then, because I can feel a prominent roundness down low and an angular feature (butt) up high.
ETA: In terms of movements, I feel a lot of internal movement down low on my bladder and hips, which I assume are arm/head movements based on the fact that she seems to be head down. Up high, I get a lot of spread out movements, all over my stomach and out to the sides, so assuming those are legs. I feel like she frequently is facing a side, cause I'll be lopsided and feel (presumably) legs on one side of my stomach and nothing on the other side.
@clebl24 Have you heard of belly mapping? DH is actually freakishly good at it with me and baby. You can try it yourself, or your OB will do it at an appointment, and I'm sure you can ask if they don't automatically.
May be TMI but too funny not to share - MH and I have not had sex in probably a month and I have been feeling badly about it but also no motivation whatsoever. So he finally asked me today and said "can we have sex right now?" My response: I think I'll have to poop in the next hour. After that?
@KMD1106 at my last ultrasound in Jan she was already head down, my dr continues to check each appointment by just feeling. I can definitely tell this baby is not breech her kicks are at the top of my stomach and very uncomfortable compared to my first her kicks were always low and not nearly as uncomfortable!!
So as predicted, my nap yesterday totally threw me off last night and I was up until about 5am I did start watching Making A Murderer on Netflix though so that should get me through the next few sleepless nights.
Some random thoughts: Why are there no Subways open past 9pm near my house? Why am I having such a hard time not eating all the chocolate chips before they make it into the cookies? And why does this kid feel the need to head-butt my cervix 24/7?
My SIL just text me to let me know that they put in an offer on a house, they are in Northern California. I am excited for them, but it is not anywhere I would ever live! She sent me a link and it's actually a condo. 2 bed, 2 bath, under 1300 square ft. and it's an upstairs condo. Where we are stationed now we can get a 4 bed/3bath and over double the sq ft.for what they are paying. It's just crazy the difference in cost to live in areas of the country.
@bacorrea I'm originally from Northern California and could never imagine going back due to the cost of living. I live in Raleigh, North Carolina now, and we get so much more (house, land, etc.) for our money than anywhere in the state of CA.
Question: What kind of toys, if any, do you plan to have for your newborn? I'm specifically thinking the first 1-2 months.
Well we had a nice weekend of relaxing together and playing with dd around the house. Then i accidentally ate diswashing detergent (like for the machine, not just soap) bc our machine sucks and just dumps the liquid on the silverware rather than actually dispersing it and rinsing it, so dh gave me a spoon to have jello with dd and i went to take a bite and got a mouth of detergent instead.... I guess i didnt look at the spoon bc i trusted dh to give me i a clean spoon, but how we both missed it is beyond me. The detergent package said to call dr or poison control so i called the after hours ob bc i dont have a reg. Dr and she said it was fine, most dont have bleach anyway and not to worry... But after getting off and checking ours it does have bleach but she seemed so unconcerned that i guess its fine either way. after that we tried to let dd poop on her potty which turned into having to scrub the hallway floors, everyone change clothes, and her needing a bath... So that was an interesting evening. Dd did go to bed super early tonight and now were waiting for the walking dead!
@KMD1106 no, my dr hadn't mentioned that the same thing(s) could happen again this time. He says that we still have plenty of time to talk about things, but I'm itching to get some sort of plan in place. Hopefully at my next appointment we can talk a bit more in depth.
@SparkySunDevil I'm sorry! I hope you can get down sort of treatment soon.
@bacorrea ugh I wont miss northern ca for their cost of living. We lived there for about six years then moved to Raleigh area last summer so we could settle down and be able to get a house without a one million dollars loan. I guess @jayandaplus and I have even more in common haha.
@SparkySunDevil you have not had the luck this pregnancy! they must have a room at the hospital on standby for you! Fingers crossed you won't have any more trips until baby time!
@jayandaplus Mine hasn't turned into an outie, but it looks so stretched and gross. I caught a glimpse of it on Monday and it was scary looking lol
eta: Anyone have suggestions of where to find a pretty shower dress? I'm gonna try destination maternity and Macy's. The old navy and target around me have tiny maternity sections. My shower is next Sunday, so only places I can go to, nothing online.
@Jens_Hoes I was just about to ask the same question! (re: shower dresses) I'm in the same boat with a shower next weekend and nothing to wear. I was thinking of ordering online from Pink Blush and paying extra to get it shipped faster, but I'm always afraid to buy clothes online and I've never bought from them before (any experiences?). My in-person options are Macy's and Destination Maternity too. Anyone have other ideas?
@L1C4gal I'm late weighing in on your question, but I did end up ordering 2 dresses from Pinkblush for my showers. I was having a really hard time justifying spending money on maternity dresses I might only wear once or twice, so I chose these wrap-style dresses that are also sold as normal dresses, because I can wear them while nursing and while non-pregnant. I don't know if either are dresses I would pick out normally, but I do feel like they are flattering.
@BeachMommy2B my pregnancies have all sucked. They've all come with their fair share of issues.
Idk what the plan is right now. I have to call my doctor today, let him know I was in and follow up with him. Today I have nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. All pretty standard with gallstones, from what I understand.
I'm guessing we will just leave the gallbladder alone until after baby is here (only 39 days until my delivery date). Unless there is a reason for concern. I didn't have the nausea and diarrhea yesterday, just the pain.
@SparkySunDevil , I found out I have gallstones back in January--the doctor told me that they wouldn't do anything unless they started causing extreme pain, which they haven't. Even after the baby comes, they will likely just let it ride unless it starts to bother me. I think it depends on the severity. I'm sorry you are going through this...so annoying.

I called my doctors office this morning and I was basically told the same. Which is what I was expecting, to be honest. So I'm just hydrating and resting today.
@starphish18 Sorry I missed this, but thank you for the recommendation! I ended up going with a non-maternity maxi dress from Dress Barn, and I think it worked pretty well (plus I can wear it after pregnancy). But I love the dresses on Pinkblush and will need one more shower dress, so I may give it a go now. I hope you like yours!
