Packing and moving this weekend...last night was rough! I'm exhausted and hurt everywhere! I think Stella knows how I'm feeling and is being protective and clingy...time to start doing some more stuff! So thankful for friends who've come to help us and my hubby who has done so much already!
@BabyMC517 good luck with the move! I hope you get to take it easy and supervise!
We are taking it easy this weekend. Maybe we will start trying to figure out how we are going to organize the nursery. Hopefully we will take a walk this afternoon bc it's supposed to be nice today.
This weekend we are in kick count alert. I haven't known where to post but I'll do it here. Ended up in triage Thursday night with what they thought was pre-e. Ended up sending me home with instructions to do kick counts 5xday. Babies looked good on the monitor but not thrilled with all my swelling.
So on that note, today is "dump day" in our city, so DH and my dear dad are taking a huge load to the dump from our recent move,DD and I are headed to the broadway showing of Cinderella and DD also has her 3of4 performances of middle school play Shrek Jr tonight.
Sounds busy but shouldn't be too taxing. I'm trying to watch my salt intake and I'm craving pizza:/
tomorrow is the Kentucky game again so we will be glued to the tv. This would fit in the other thread about college teams because DH is from KY so he is a diehard KY fan, while my family is from Knoxville so my blood runs orange:) however, neither of us went to either school!!
@0408Bear yikes! What initially sent you to triage? Lack of movement or symptoms of pre-e? That must have been scary.
I totally overdid it the last few days so I have strict instructions from DH to stay on the couch until he gets home from work today. I'm not complaining about it lol.
I did go and see Beauty and the Beast with a coworker yesterday. AMAZING!!! I had this huge grin plastered to my face the entire time. They did such a good job with it. I'm going to try and convince my sister-in-law to go with me again this week. I saw Moana twice in the theater because I loved it so much but I thought this one was waaaaay better.
@0408Bear I am a UK grad and fan! Go cats! Also my family is living in Knoxville and my sister is a UT grad . Good luck on your kick counts. Hope they go well and your swelling improves.
@BabyMC517 hope the move goes well! Remember to take it easy!
@MrsCPALeslie hooray baby shower!! I hope it's a ton of fun!
@0408Bear FX those kick counts are no issue. Are they making you do a 24 hour urine to check your protein levels?
@vrj0522 fun! I hope you're able to make all the meals!
My parents are on a work trip so I am watching my siblings for the next week. It's super nice outside today so I am probably just going to have everybody play outside most of the day. Maybe we will go get milkshakes or something later. I don't know how my Mom does it. There are 7 of us all together (Me, 3 in college, 3 at home) it's just exhausting.
@0408Bear, I hope your weekend stays uneventful and you can take it easy! @CherryBananas, I'm pretty apathetic about Disney, but I really enjoyed Beauty and the Beast! I took my mom because she loves that stuff. I thought they did a great job and the costumes were incredible.
DH and I are taking it easy. Doing some cleaning and maybe some packing. Earlier in the week, we planned this big date day to the Baltimore aquarium (1.5 hours away), and then last night we looked at each other and were like... wanna cancel that? Haha it's amazing how much more motivated you can be at the beginning of the week.

The original concern was higher bp than usual, a 7lb weight gain in a week and swelling and protein in urine. In triage my bp was great and babies were monitoring well. Dr suggested watching salt and ensuring kick counts are stable. I'll be seen twice a week from now on no 24 hr urine yet, but I'm sure it's coming.
@0408Bear and @rkstro2 Go Cats! I wore one of H's UK shirts last night--first time I've EVER worn one, don't tell my family--and cheered loud the whole game while he slept on the couch Tomorrow should be exciting!
@BabyMC517 Hope your move goes well. Love the pic of Stella. @0408Bear Sorry to hear you're on kick count duty! Hope your events today are a welcome relief. Thinking about you! @vrj0522 Good job doing freezer meals. I'm still procrastinating that.
No real plans today, looking to do a hike with DH and then we have dinner and movie tickets for Beauty and the Beast (SO excited!!!) Also hoping to finalize our hospital bag so it's done! (A little early, yes, but one less thing to obsess over.) Should be a good day, except I had a dream last night I miscarried.
I am going to be traveling for the next two weeks straight--two four-day trips on my own for fieldwork (flying), split up by a four-day trip with H to go 8.5 hours home for our shower (driving, ugh). I'm a bit worried about the trips on my own in case something happens, but I'll be staying with some friends and my doctor didn't seem worried. It's going to be exhausting, so I'm hoping to get some rest this weekend and get as much baby stuff done as I can, since I won't be able to do that until April 8 now...eek!
@jayandaplus how far are you planning on hiking? I'm impressed that you're still getting out there! I feel guilty because I'm a big hiker normally and I haven't done it since the first trimester (I mean, it's also been winter here).

@jayandaplus Your weekend plans sound wonderful! I'm sorry you had such a bad dream last night but hopefully you'll forget all about it with all of the fun stuff you have going on!
@L1C4gal I hope the traveling goes well! That sounds torturous. Glad you'll be with friends and your MD approved. Don't forget to go at your own pregnancy pace.
@kns1988 I've gone hiking about 4-5 times this pregnancy, and yes, there was a pause with winter. Our weather is getting better. My back and sciatica pain are better after moving, so it helps in the end. I will say they're baby hikes, like 1.5-2 miles so nothing too crazy. Don't feel guilty! We're pregnant, and not obligated to do any exercise if we don't feel up to it. I plan to spend the rest of my night reclined.
Hubs' parents stopped in our area on their way home from Florida, so my weekend is SHOT. DS did warm my heart last night at dinner by asking for MY mom when his mom tried to pick him up! (I may or may not ONLY work with him on saying my mom's name.) I'm headed to the Rhea Lana pregnant-pre-sale this afternoon and hoping to find some nicer clothes for summer (and *wishful thinking* maybe a double stroller!).
@emilyalso has you DH parents done something wrong? Maybe you've mentioned and I've forgotten. If they haven't I don't understand the reasoning behind you comment of being happy he asked for your mom and that you don't work on all the grandparents names.
I am meeting a friend for lunch today. Then tomorrow I'm going to go to the beach with a couple of my friends while DH hangs out with DD. I can't wait for some much needed relaxation with the sun and the sand.
@emilyalso has you DH parents done something wrong? Maybe you've mentioned and I've forgotten. If they haven't I don't understand the reasoning behind you comment of being happy he asked for your mom and that you don't work on all the grandparents names.
Yeah. I honestly can't stand my ILs. They have made so many poor choices. I still make sure DD knows them. We make them gifts and talk about them, and I show her pictures. They are supposed to come out for Christmas this year, and I hope they do so DD and DS will be able to build a relationship with them.
@0408Bear Oof, sorry you had to go into the hospital. Hopefully everything continues to look up.
@MrsCPALeslie I hope you have a great shower tomorrow!
@BabyMC517 Good luck with the move, and take it easy!
My weekend is a bust. My cold just keeps getting worse. I've spent my morning so far just dripping liquids from my face...my nose, my eyes, I'm just a mess. After I tried to make some lunch and ended up on the kitchen floor crying cause I was too tired and I couldn't see out of my runny eyes, and I had to stop every minute to blow my nose, H finally went to go get me some meds. I was trying to avoid it, but I'm clearly not improving on my own. I'm probably spending my weekend on the couch.
@jayandaplus - I am sorry you had such a bad dream. I hate those!
Speaking of ILs, I love mine but I also love that they live in a different state. I feel bad that our kids are the ones that see them the least out of all the grandkids because they really are nice people but my mil can be controlling so it's good that there's a good distance between us.

@jayandaplus you're lucky you live somewhere you can hike this time of year. June is usually the earliest I can get out around here without being knee-deep in snow.
@emilyalso good luck with the IL's and with shopping this weekend! Fingers crossed you find that stroller.
@starphish18 I'm so sorry. Big creepy Internet hugs! Being that sick is awful. Hopefully the mess help and you get a chance to relax today.
@L1C4gal good luck on the traveling. I cannot handle more than 3.5 hours so kudos to you.
@MrsCPALeslie Have a fantastic shower! I hope you get lots of goodies and get to see some friends and not family.
@0408Bear I'm glad to hear that they sent you homemade and everything was good. Take it easy and use the kick counts as an excuse to relax.
We got our completion discounts so last night bought everything from amazon and babies r us. I can't wait to get the mail tomorrow and Monday which is when everything from amazon will come. This weekend we are cleaning all the stuff and organizing but otherwise relaxing. Hoping DH will change my snow tires to summer. Lazy rain weekend.
Another freaking migraine for me. So over these dang things. Also still dealing with constant menstrual type cramping, low back pain, etc. trying to drink lots of water and rest today. 41 days of pregnancy left for me...and I honestly can't wait to be done
@starphish18 hoping those meds kick in and you feel better soon!
I'm working today, but our OR schedule looked pretty light last night so I'm hoping to finish up some stuff for the Bridal shower I'm throwing tomorrow. Then, it's my last week of full-time /regular work...woo! Last night was super challenging as baby boy is really low and was favoring my right side stretching me beyond belief! Ay-yay-yay! I guess it also doesn't help when i ate a regular sized meal vs a sized down meal for dinner.
@BeachMommy2B - I feel like 'not getting along with your MIL' is not a new or shocking paradigm. From claiming not to have time to help plan her part of our wedding, to making comments about my weight and what I wear, to blatantly disregarding instructions (basic ones, not picky ones) when I have left DS with her... she just hasn't earned a spot as one of my favorites. (Also ETA: Remember your sunscreen! I can't imagine the discomfort of a burn on top of regular pregnancy discomforts. )
ETA: @starphish18 - You may know this, but Sudafed can have a stimulant effect, so I would be cautious about what time you take it! When I've been sick, I've taken that in the morning and something like Benadryl at night to help dry me up (and ensure good rest!).
On another note, I'm glad this thread is here because I have NOT been able to keep up during the week. I think it's because I've been working full time when I normally only work 32 hours one week and 24 hours the next week.
All Of The threads I normally participate in have like 100+ new posts. Ugh!
I received a job offer at a hospital closer to where we currently live and where our new house is being built. My release date is a week after my wonderful co-workers are throwing me a baby shower. I'll have 3 shifts left after it. How on earth do I tell them I'm leaving? I told my boss this past week and asked him to not mention it to anyone, even management as news spreads fast and I'd prefer to break the news myself. Do I spill the beans now or wait?
@emilyalso Good tip, thanks! I wouldn't have thought about not taking sudafed too close to bed.
@mrsrep123 I really like this weekend thread, too. Props to @BeachMommy2B for starting it up on our month. I feel like we have a lot more weekend engagement than we used to, which I enjoy on days like this where I'm sitting around doing nothing.
Also, in regards to telling your coworkers that you're leaving, that is tough with the timing of the baby shower. I might tell them about a week before the shower...that way, they'd have time to process the news and could kind of treat the shower like a going away party, too, and celebrate with you before you leave.
Quiet weekend here. Just spent the morning installing the over the oven microwave at my mother's house now my dog and I are relaxing on the couch. We officially have the crib and dresser so once my husband sets it up I can really start getting ready for this LO!
I haven't been sleeping well, which adds to my constant tiredness. I feel like a lump on a log.
Sorry to everyone feeling crappy today, hope everyone feels better soon. @MrsCPALeslie have a great shower! @mrsrep123 I'd tell them before the shower. If they care about you, they'll be happy that you're leaving to go somewhere that is better for you and your family. They might feel like you're being sneaky if you wait til the last minute to tell them.
@jayandaplus, @starphish18, @Jens_Hoes thanks! Yes, I think before the shower too because I do not want to be portrayed as sneaky. I'm throwing a Bridal shower for one of our co-workers tomorrow AND going on modified duty after this next week so timing should work out.
@mrsrep123, I agree to tell them you're leaving beforehand. My experience working in gossipy offices is that there are always a few people who read bad intentions into situations like that, so don't give them the chance to (this might just be a phenomenon in offices - people get really bored and start drama!). Congratulations on the new job! Will you start after maternity leave?

DD has been throwing a tantrum for an hour now. The topic has changed/evolved over its course. First she didn't want to try on a shirt my friend made her. Then she was mad we couldn't find the exact underwear she wanted to wear. Now we are to the point where she cries/argues about everything we say (i.e. "The sky is blue."). She's lost the planned park trip we had planned for today, which of course added to the fit. We've tried time out, time in, etc. nothing ever works. Someone tell me this gets better. I don't know how I'll mentally handle doing this again.
And as I was typing this all out, DH made me coffee and DD delivered it and told me she was sorry.
